Default Study Hall

In close proximity to the library lies the study hall. Whether you are a first year or a seventh year, a Gryffindor or a Slytherin, a boy or a girl, this room is the best place to go for your studying and homework completion needs. If you ever find yourself stuck on something or have no clue what you're doing, you can always ask those who you are studying with for help or the professor that is overseeing the study session.

Scattered around the room are groups of desks that make it perfect for you and your friends to collaboratively work together. Average-sized oil lamps have been strategically placed on the desks to create a calm, comfortable environment. In a neat pile in the centre of the desks are extra quills, bottles of ink, and spare parchment should you need it -- just remember to leave the quills and ink at the table and only use what you need for parchment. Under the windows a long bookshelf containing a copy of textbooks for each class can be found, which you are welcome to use during your time in this room.

HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

Even though he might have looked like he was utterly and completely grumpy, Islay didn’t care. That wasn’t why you offered to help people with these things. She simply helped, because it was what she thought was right – it was what her gran would have done.

When Ewan commented on the migraine she just nodded her head, “I know, they’re the absolute worst...especially the ones that make you temporarily go blind – or like, blind on one side?” she added with a shrug of her shoulder, it wasn’t like she got them often. She did, just sporadically. “Hard to think, hard to eat....really, just hard to human” she understood. Hopefully pinching the bridge of his nose would work.

Weird and friendly was likely the best way to describe Islay, especially considering her knack to throw in a perfectly timed bad joke...like the ones that made her friends say she stole corgis. She didn’t. “Okay, I’ll make a double batch of the blend my gran used to make” taking a piece of paper from her notebook she wrote down the ingredients. “its got chamomile, feverfew and ginger – my gran swore by it.” She gave him a kind smile, “another weird suggestion if you get like a hat and make it reaaaallly cold like by freezing it it can help regulate the pressure part of migraines” she had been dealing with these her whole life so, well, that was how she knew.

She was a nice person. She might think of it as nothing and that helping someone is just something that someone should do because it is what is right to do and is a nice thing to do but not everyone thought that way. Either way, he appreciated it and was thankful.

”Honestly, it’s just the fact that it’s just there in the back of your head distracting your thoughts”. He wasn’t exactly the type of person who was easily distracted but a thudding migraine was certainly something that could hold his attention even when he it wasn’t welcome. Could they make you blind though? He’d never heard of that one. That is super scary. I hope I don’t get blind”. If he’d been worried about his migraine before, it was nothing compared to what was going through his head now.

Nodding, the tall prefect just smiled and continued to pinch the bridge of his nose in an attempt to ease the throbbing pain. ”Thank, I really appreciate it”. He was sceptical but hopeful. ”A hat? Uhh…I can do that”, a smile on his face now as he imagined his brown curls all wet and soggy on top of his head as he pulled a wet hat over them. Somehow, he knew he’d look stupid but he’d still try it.

Arts TRANSPONSTER!

Catherine walked into the study hall with her bag over her shoulder and looked around to make sure it wasn't too crowded. The last thing she wanted was to be interrupted and spoken to while she worked, even if it was creative work.

After being happy with the lack of crow in the room, she resumed walking and chose a spot near a window so she could make use of natural light. That was always the best kind of light.

Taking her New Scamander cardboard cutout from her bag, she looked at the chair and desk she was considering placing him on and considered something. That cutout was too small for these and no matter the camera angle, the picture would still not be proportionate to the furniture. If only she could use magic to shrink them for the photograph, it would've been brilliant.

Alas.

The girl took a few steps away and, after looking around some more, decided to place Mr Scamander's cutout on a table further away from the window than she had originally considered. She turned it around so the picture would face the window and herself, and got down to the level of the surface of the desk. It seemed like he was at the entrance of the study hall with many desks behind him. Not exactly what she wanted at first because it wasn't him sitting at a desk studying, but that would have to do, she supposed.

Pulling the camera out of her bag, she held it at the same level she had looked at moments before. Hmm... she wasn't really happy with it. He still looked humongous compared to the rest of the room, and Catherine liked accuracy.

She picked the cutout up and walked around the room, trying to find a spot she could use that would make sense. How annoying was it that she couldn't use magic to put things into scale. So very annoying!

Pursing her lips, she decided to go back to the window. She wanted to convey he was in the study hall and use natural light at the same time, plus she didn't want the cutout to look disproportionate. She started to think she would have to compromise and after some consideration, she decided she would sacrifice the lighting. How annoying.

No, Merlin, she couldn't do that! Urgh! If the lighting was bad it might be difficult to tell it was New Scamander or where he was. Urgh, she'd have to sacrifice something else.

The location was the sole purpose of this task, so she couldn't sacrifice on that either, which meant she'd have to go with the ludicrous idea of a teeny tiny Scamander, or of a gigantic room. Either way, she was not happy with that, but what could she do without magic? Hmph.

Catherine placed her cardboard cutout on the desk and stepped back to have a better look at it. She thought it looked utterly ridiculous and shook her head as she walked back towards her bag. Pulling out some parchment, she cut it in proportion to Scamander's cutout and put it in front of his feet.

Urgh. She'd just get this over with.

Text Cut: Newt

Snapping the photograph, the girl quickly walked over to Mr Scamander's cutout as she put the camera back in her bag. Getting her own piece of parchment out, she put the piece of cardboard away as well before taking some notes.

Quote:
. Newt walks into the study hall wanting to write notes for his new book
. Newt notices there are no desks and only has the option to write on the floor
. He writes them quickly, finds it uncomfortable and decides to leave
Catherine finished her notes frowning. This was pathetic, but she couldn't think of anything else to write about this place right now. Shaking her head, she put her parchment away and left before she changed her mind.
