One of the less travelled corridors will eventually take you to perhaps the least popular place located in the dungeons. Looking forward, it appears that there is a flight of stairs at the end of the corridor. Indeed, there is. But as you get closer, you realize that there is a bit of an obstacle in your way. A small set of stairs leads you downward into a pit full of slugs, big and small. By the looks of it, this nasty infestation has been here for a very long time.
At this point, there are really only two options for you to choose from: either turn around and head back down the way you came or make friends with the sluggish residents of the pit and walk through the thick slime to get to the staircase beyond. Should you decide to do the latter, tread carefully unless you want to find yourself covered from head to toe in the lime green goo that covers the stone floor or adopt a number of slugs as hair accessories. On the plus side, at least you now know where to find an endless supply of slugs should you need them for Potions class.
Cole had heard of the slug pit in the dungeons, but he had never seen it for himself, or explored it. With an hour or so to kill before dinner the blond boy made his way down the many flights of stairs until his blue eyes landed on the slimy, green and glorious sluggish uncountable inhabitants of the pit. It was an eye-opening sight for sure. So what to do now? Go through the thick slime and risk falling on his bottom or go back from whence he had come? He was not going back, at least not yet. He should get some slugs for some pranks.
Going closer to the pit, Cole pulled his hand out of his pocket, watching how a bracelet his sister had given him fell right down into the slime and disappeared. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don’t swallow that! It's mine!" Cole yelled out as he fell to his knees and started to search the slime for his belonging.
Walking and not paying attention in a dark lit dungeon corridor was not smart. I repeat, NOT SMART, and yet that was exactly what Islay Moreau had been doing when she was looking at the photograph of her mother once more and then she heard the yelling and was JUST about to ask Cole what had happened when she heard it the screaming.
HER OWN SCREAMING – “AAAAAAHHH" oh merlin it felt so gross in there – they were wriggling and wiggling and goo was everything – and she just NEEDED a bath right now. “get off of it” Islay hissed at a slug as she pulled her picture from it giving the picture a good wipe or two before just looking around. “do you need help?”

Noah had decided to continue exploring the castle. Today, he decided that the lower floors would be where he would go investigate. As he walked down one of the many dimly lit corridors int he dungeons with his wand illuminating light, he heard some yelling? What was... What was that?
He ran forward, ready to go lend a hand, when... WOAH... He fell forward and then nearly fell backward, flailing his arms to steady and propel himself back to standing straight. Noah took it too far and ended up on the floor and his wand flung behind him. Scrambling to grab his wand, he headed back over to the edge of the pit?? "HELLLO!?" he called out. He saw forms of people but it was so dark in here that he really couldn't make out who they were. "Do you need help?"

Cole was knee deep in the slug slime when Islay started to scream her head off like she had seen a ghost or something worse. So surprised and scared too by the outburst Cole fell forward face first into the slugs. "Ewwwwwwwwwwww!" he coughed out as he sat up in the slime and pulled away slugs from his face and questioned a slight hint of irritation in his voice as he looked up at his friend. "What did you do that for Islay? You made me fall face first into the slugs and now I've probably got slugs in more places than my face." Please, please not in the hair. Not the hair. Cole said with a small sigh as he looked out over the slimy patch. "I dropped my sisters bracelet in the slug slime, can you help me look for it?" And not SCREAM puuuulease?

Cole was feeling around with his hands in the gooey slime when he heard commotion behind him in the dimly lit corridor. Casting a glance behind him he saw a flick of a lit wand before it went out. Maybe peeves was playing with them? "Did you see that creepy light?" Cole asked Islay before he heard the loud call that he identified as Noah’s of his house. Waving to him across the pit he called “Sure, come over to us Noah. We're looking for a bracelet I've lost to the slugs.” Please don’t say anything about slugs in his hair…...
When she was falling in to the pit Islay wasn’t exactly caring who she scared or what happened. She was just turned her head when she heard Cole’s scream – oh god…that was disgusting but she couldn’t not laugh as she tipped her head back and chortled.
When he mentioned the slugs being in other places than his face Islay just felt her jaw drop. DID HE REALLY JUST SAY THAT? Her eyes widening for a moment before she started laughing again, her stomach hurt from all of the laughter. “oh god, nooooooo I don’t want to imagine that” she practically giggled at him and shook her head “I’ll help you look” she smiled happily.
When Cole mentioned the light she just quivered slightly and nodded. “I di---Noah?” oh thank merlins forking hat is was Noah. “Noah hiiii, maybe you can help us?” she offered with a grin – “you could try and shine a light for the bracelet?” she shrugged, and beamed at her friend.
Looking over to Cole she just sighed, “sorry for screaming – I don’t do well with randomly falling into pits…full of slugs” see it made sense to scream.

Noah knew those voices anywhere. It was housemate, Cole, and best friend, Islay, who were in need of help. "Absolutely!" he cried back as he leaned over the slippery edge with wand illuminated. "Is this good? Or do you need me to get closer...?" he asked, leaning a little more as he tried not to lose his balance.
As he balanced himself, using his core strength, the boy wondered just how long he'd be able to last. Perhaps seven or eight minutes at max before he fell forward and joined them in the slime of the slug pit. "Could you two use a spell to locate the bracelet?" he cried out, tightening his core to keep him stable.

Brilliant. Just flaming pheonix hair brilliant. Islay was the one to fall into the slug pit, but she wasnt panicking about that, she was laughing at him. At him and probably at all the slugs that was covering Cole’s body. He didn’t want to know where the slugs were, but he had the distinct feeling that it wouldn’t take long before Islay made such a comment. That was of course if she managed to stop herself from laughing so much. Cole just shook his head at her and turned his attention to the slime, digging around in it with his hands trying to avoid slug contact, but that was proving practically impossible. Making a disgusted face when a cold slug slithered up on his hand Cole, pulled it off and then looked sideways at Islay."Thanks, it’s made out of gold and has different lockets on it that Izzie has made herself. If i lose it she will send me a howler."
Nodding Cole said "It’s okay, I just wasn't expecting company down here." So he had overreacted too. Looking over at Noah that was illuminating the pit from across Cole called over "Noah, it won't work, we need you to be on our side of the pit or we won’t see much." Plus it’d just tire him out, holding his wand like that. "Nice idea, but what’s the incantation for that?" Cole wondered out loud.
Islay wasn’t laughing at Cole – she was laughing at the gutter that was her mind. “nooo, god these feel so gross” she giggled out of nerves more than anything. “I hate it, I really do” she admitted with a huff as she shook her head.
Islay leaned her head up toward the light, it was SO far off. SO FAR OFF – like it barely illuminated the goo that they were standing in and then she felt it, a slug crawling on her leg. “noooo nooo ewww” she squealed as she shimmied away from it and just managed to trip over a slug and land on her back in a pile of goo. “merlin, you can laugh...its only fair” she said and then it happened the goo “GET OUT OF THERE” she hissed as she smacked her hand at her face repeatedly, trying to get the slug away from her ear.

He needed to be on their side of the pit? Oh OKAY! Noah knew where to go. Hold on Cole and Islay... He'd be there shortly. Once he figured out how to get across. Maybe if he leaned overt the edge more, he could illuminate the pit more? It was a thought. Thus the Gryffindor tried it. "Okay!" called out Noah, trying to figure out how to get to the other side. Maybe if he... The boy took a step back before losing his balance, "WOah. Woah. WOOOAH!!" he cried and lost his balance.
His landing was soft; however, he had landed on his butt. Ouch, that would be sore tomorrow..... Where was his wand? It was pitch dark down here. "Oww.." he said, rubbing the side of his sore, sore butt... Then he crawled in front of him, feeling the ground ahead. It was so slimy. Gross. Slimy. He shivered. Was that a wand...? "Guys... Bad news... I can't find my wand..."

What was gross? The slime or the slugs? Cole wondered as Islay kept laughing nervously. It was nice to know it wasn’t at him. Her next comment had him apologizing without thinking about it. "Sorry for dragging you down here with me----." he was going to say more when Islay started to squeal and move backwards and then Cole heard a small thumping splash behind him which sent a spray of slimy goo right into his face. Wiping away the slime from his face Cole kept peering around himself in the dimly lit corridor until his eyes eventually saw Islay now lying on her back in a big pile of goo just a few meters from him. The sight was amusing so a small laugh slipped over Cole’s lips despite the spray of goo. She had said it was okay, before he held out his left hand to her, ignoring her hissing. "Islay grab my hand and i’ll pull you out of the pit." Or at least he’d try to if she could stop herself from smacking off the slugs from her face for a few minutes.
Cole’s attention was on Islay so he had forgotten about Noah until he heard a loud cry but no thump or splash from his side of the pit. The light went out seconds later and everything went dark. Hearing Noah’s voice he called over "Noah, are you okay?" since he couldn’t see him, but guessed that he too had taken a tumble in the pit. It was bad news that he had lost his wand. "We’ll help you look for your wand, right Islay?"
Squelching that was the sound that slugs made, that was the disgusting noise of the fit. Islay was about to reach for Cole’s outstretched hand when the light disappeared. WHERE. WAS. THE LIGHT. She thought loudly and then she heard it the woaaaahig of one Noah Nam.
Dear merlin, they were one sorry lot weren’t they? Islay shifted and slipped across the floor of the pit, as she practically splashed her hands in the goo. “oh, I’m already trying,” she nodded even though they couldn’t see her.
Her hand hit something she thought was a wand, but no...it wriggled and was slimy and was just a wriggling slug body. “this is really gross...if only we had vials we could sell the mucus to the potions makers of Hogwarts and like make a killing money-wise” Islay shrugged as she slipped forward again and moved her hands around the slug bodies. “come-on wand, we need you” the brunette muttered as she sloshed through the mucus-filled pit.
