Whether it was following the fluttering little wings or simply walking into this place by accident, you've now come to the butterfly garden. It's a small little paradise somewhere along the grounds but for some reason the garden keeps changing location, sometimes appearing closer to the lake while at other times one might swear it was a stone's throw from the wooden bridge. Wherever you've managed to stumble upon it, you're here now and so are its inhabitants.
The Butterfly Garden didn't get it's name for no reason. Throughout the year different species of butterflies can be seen floating about save for winters where the entire garden appears to be asleep.
There is a wooden bench or two located in the garden for those who would like to have a seat and take in the scenery as well as a wide array of vibrant flowers that leave you oddly captivated. See to it that you do not disrupt the balance in here.

What a lovely place to come and meditate. Cassie had been walking the grounds on this lovely day when she came across the butterfly garden. Knowing the magical world changed in many different ways, she was glad to see the butterfly garden still around. It was beautiful and peaceful and a place she loved to come and get her mind relaxed before her lessons.
Walking through the garden she spotted a few of the butterflies and smiled. Going more to the middle of the garden she found and open space and slipped out of her heels. The five foot professor took a seat on the ground.

Thanks to not having to clean so much this term, Gabi had SO much free time now that she could use to enjoy the scenery of the castle. She honestly hadn't had all that much time to explore last term - thanks to certain Hogwarts founders running around, stabbing people and causing general mayhem. Today she found herself out in the butterfly garden with a stack of essays that she had been meaning to grade from her first lesson. All in all, term was off to a good start!
She was pleased to see that the students were out and about enjoying the late summer air as well! Might as well get out and enjoy it while it lasting. There was a blonde one sitting right over th...
Oh. Wait. Scratch that.
Ugh. Of course.
Gabi was trying her absolute BEST to not let her distain for the newcomer show, but it was awfully difficult. Everything about her just made Gabi want to cringe. Especially the snapping. Still, no one could ever say that Gabi was rude just for the sake of being rude - and truthfully, Cassie hadn't ever DONE anything to her. She had just...existed, and that was no reason to hate someone.
Well, no reason to make your feelings known to them, at least.
"Hello Cassie," Gabi greeted her as she took a seat a good six feet away from the tiny Divination professor, crossing her legs properly and setting her things neatly beside her. "Settling in alright?"

Just closing her eyes Cassie was about to begin her meditation when she heard someone coming near. The weather was wonderful and the peace of the garden made the lightest of noises come to her ears. Opening she looked up as Gabi came walking over. Watching her as she sat Cassie gave some soft snaps for greetings.
"Happy day, isn't it? I just love warm days that you can get out and find a nice spot to meditate. Is that what you were coming to do?" She assumed as the woman sat on the ground as well, but maybe she was just here to enjoy the butterflies as they fluttered around.
"When I taught here the first time this was one of my favorite places to go." Even with a castle that changed in many ways she was happy to see the things that stayed the same. Those things were the best part of the castle.

It had been a week or so since Louise and all the other students had returned to Hogwarts for the year. The September air was cooling down a little bit, it still felt warm enough to hang around in the sunshine, so Louise took her afternoon snack and headed outside to soak in what was left of the summer.
Looking for a quieter place to settle down for a bit, Louise went to the butterfly garden, a rather peaceful corner of the grounds where she could listen to the rustle of the trees and watch the colorful wings fly around. Quietly, the fourth year took a seat on the grass and munched on her apple slices, hoping the butterflies would grow used to her presence and maybe even join her.
Well he had survived his first week at Hogwarts without getting into any sort of trouble. His mother would be so proud of him. Of course it had only been a week, there were many more weeks to go. He was going to need those weeks to find his way around this place. It seemed bigger than Beaubaxtons though not as beautiful.
Drew was wandering along a pathway just taking in the sights when a figure appeared up ahead, he recognised her instantly and a grin appeared on his face as he watched her settle herself into the butterfly garden. This was too good an opportunity to let go.
Trying to be as quiet as he could, Drew crept slowly toward her and when he was right behind her, he gave her shoulder a poke with his finger.

"BOO!"
Ah, yes. This was nice. Nice and peaceful, away from all the hustle and bustle. No one to bother her. No homework to worry about. All she had to do was watch the butterflies fly around in peace and hope that one landed on her--
"BOO!"
The surprise shout and the poke on the shoulder made Louise shout, jumping at the surprise, flailing her arms a bit. Butterflies all around were startled and fluttered away, far away from the scene. Louise looked up to see the SMUG face of DREW - that cute older boy she had met on the train.
"Look what you did!" she whined, gesturing to the butterflies that were flying away. "You jerk." Louise pouted and crossed her arms across her chest, watching the butterflies. They didn't go to far, because this was their home, but she was upset that he had scared them away from her.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It was lucky he a strong bladder because he would probably be wetting himself right now. Her reaction and the look on her face right now was priceless. "Oh they'll come back." He said as he sat down beside her and got comfortable.
The pout was absolutely adorable on her. He was tempted to poke her nose again but didn't want to suffer her wrath. "So Lou Lou, how has your week been? I haven't seen you since the train. Have you been avoiding meeee?" Drew leaned over and pinched one of her apple slices and quickly popped it into his mouth before she could take it back.

The fact that he found this SOOOO funny just irritated her even more. The furrowed brows and the pout didn't leave when he joined her on the grass even though she secretly loved the company. She was about to answer his question when he nicked one of her apple slices. She scowled at him.
"Not intentionally, but maybe I should from now on." Louise took another apple slice and took a bite from it, her eyes moving back to the butterflies. Now that the scare was over, she hoped Drew would sit still so they would come back. "What do you think of this place?" she asked curiously, since he was new to Hogwarts.

Leaning back on his hands, Drew looked up at the sky. "I'm not sure how to put it." He began still looking up at the sky. "Harsh is the word that comes to mind." He knew that didn't explain anything it was kinda hard to explain. "Like there is a lot of stone. It appears cold even though it's not." Ugh he was sounding a like an idiot, he should have just said it was good.
"I do like the classes though. The Professor's definitely have a lot more personality." Some of them quite quirky actually. Drew dragged his gaze away from the sky and looked back at Louise. "You've obviously been here for a while. What is your favourite thing about Hogwarts?"

Louise grabbed another apple slice and munched on it, watching Drew as he tried to answer her question. She supposed that from someone who didn't grow up in the realm of Hogwarts, it might seem rather strange. But Louise had grown up waiting to go to Hogwarts, excited to be at the castle. She nodded at his explanation. "That makes sense, I guess." Stone was cold... but Hogwarts was inviting.
She laughed a little at his comment about the professors. "Some of them are weird." Like Schmoe. Schmoe was weird. She finished her apple slice and watched the butterflies again as she considered his question. "My favorite thing... I dunno. The food is good." It was hard to just pinpoint one thing.

Of course she would find the food to be the best thing at Hogwarts. Ever since he had known her, which wasn't really that long she was always eating, at least she was eating something healthy this time. "Well I have to admit that there is a lot of it." One would never go hungry at Hogwarts that's for sure. "I mean they didn't starve you at Beaubaxtons but they didn't pack your plates up like they do here."
A couple of butterflies fluttered over and landed on his arm, Drew held his arm out to Louise. She should take one since she was so keen on wanting to play with them. "Such delicate things. It's a shame that they don't live for very long." Or were they magical butterflies? Was there such a thing?
"So tell me a bit about yourself Louise. Do you have any brothers and sisters? Do you like anything else besides food and butterflies?"

A girl had to eat, obviously.
"You know, we probably ran into each other there. When Hogwarts was closed two years ago." Louise looked at him and considered it. It was her second year and Hogwarts was closed because of the mist, so they had all been sent to Beauxbaton for a year. Then again, there were a LOT of people crammed into one school, not to mention he was much older than her AND they had still separated Hogwarts and Beauxbaton students a lot, so it made sense that they hadn't really been in the same groups.
Louise watched as some butterflies landed on his arm. When he moved his arm towards her, Louise rested a few fingers on his arm and waited for a butterfly to crawl onto her fingers. They were probably attracted to the sweet smell of the apples she had on her fingers.
"I'm an only child," she responded, carefully resting her hand on her knee, watching the butterfly sit on her hand. "And yes, I happen to like lots of things besides food and butterflies." The young redhead shot the boy a LOOK. "I like to read and I like to listen to music. And I like creatures in general." Not just butterflies.

Oh yeah, he remembered when the students of Hogwarts had invaded come to stay at Beaubaxtons but he did not remember her. Then again he had a lot going on that year. It had been his OWL year, not that he took his studies very seriously but if he wanted his inheritance he had to at least get good grades.
Not to mention that was the year he had really discovered girls and they had discovered him so when he was not studying he was chasing after all the pretty girls. "Apparently not. Otherwise I would have remembered you." He grinned and tossed her a wink before realising what he was doing. He really should stop doing that. Flirting with younger girls was not a good thing but it was just like second nature to him.
"So you're the studious kind is what you're saying." He chuckled as he leaned forward and pinched another apple slice before she gave them all away to the butterflies. Drew read books for school and only because he had to and while he did not dislike creatures, he didn't go out of his way to interact with them. "I like listening to music too. I like rock music especially when it's nice and loud." He had a feeling that she liked the soft serenity type of music.
"I have an older brother and sister." She didn't ask but he was going to tell her anyway. "They live in the States. My brother works at the company my father founded and my sister is studying to be a Healer." It all sounded so normal when he spoke of it like that but life had sucked when he was younger. "I bet you get spoiled being an only child."

For the record, he considered himself to be in a far less sour mood than he COULD be on any other given day. At least today's reasons were hardly that deep and he was simply being a petty of-age teenager about things. Truly, the only way things could be worse would be if mum came back to teach at Hogwarts. Or dad. Or his uncle. He really needed to not have so many nurturing personalities in his family with inclinations towards education. It was troublesome.
His robes were truly taking a beating this term between today and Defense Against the Dark Arts, but again...he wasn't feeling petty nor salty about THAT. They were just clothes and he hardly felt any attachment to these robes.
Their fingers woven together, Eiji decided to lead them somewhere he rarely every visited on a whim and almost exclusively only came when he was in a harvesting and collecting mood. Which...was not to say he wasn't keeping an eye out for useful items now ... but that wasn't the point. He figured Missa would like it here.

Missa just wanted to go sit somewhere, and this was definitely a very pleasant option. Hopefully she won’t get distracted by the beauty, and he won’t distracted by the potential ingredients around them.
Passing him a little smile, she tugged him toward the nearest bench.
“So, you want to tell me what’s going on?” What was the point of beating around the bush, anyway?

He would most certainly get distracted by potential ingredients but he would do his best to not to. He could consider collection his gold star at the end of this conversation.
Sighing under his breath a bit, Eiji ran his hand roughly through his hair and followed her to the bench where he sat down and slouched a bit. "Professor Williamson just got under my skin, that's all." And now he also apparently had a kneazle...so that was just great. "Long term family friend who knows how to push my buttons."

So Kimmie wanted to do yoga with her? Fine. Aboli would oblige. She was unsure of how to feel about the Hufflepuff mostly because of Noah. Noah was HER best friend. And.......Noah's poorly explanation of his drama was a whole lot for the Slytherin to digest...but....when it came down to it, she couldn't afford to make enemies right now. She already had people who didn't LIKE her, and Aboli hated it.
Hated.
It.
It reminded her of pre-Hogwarts days, primary days, and she just...didn't like it. Bouncing around from school to school...she just....wanted to belong so badly. And finally she felt it here. And she felt it MOST with Noah. So if Kimmie did anything to ruin that....Aboli didn't know how she would cope. But for now, she would play nicely. For Noah's sake, anyway.
She had brought her own mat and assumed that Kimmie would have her own as well. With her re-usable water bottle in hand, she waited for the blonde to arrive. In the meantime, she lay on her back, gazing up at the clouds. Her favorite thing to do, honestly. It was peaceful, reminded her of her mother, and let her mind wander to all the possible readings she could get from the clouds. Alas, she had left her cloud journal in her dorm.

Thank Merlin it was another nice day to be outside. And K had jumped at the chance to go outside, so she was very open when Aboli had mentioned today would be a good day for a yoga session that she had suggested they try before. The butterfly garden also sounded a very serene place, and it was somewhere on the grounds she had yet to explore so she was very much looking forward to that as well.
She headed down towards the arranged meeting spot, her purple mat rolled up and tucked under her arm and her long hair pulled up into a messy bun on the top of her head. While it was October and not overly warm, she had decided on a short sleeve tank top anyways so that she could soak up a little more sun. The cold was definitely something that she was used to.
Spotting the Slytherin in the distance, K picked her pace and headed the rest of the way at a job, offering a smile as she approached. She didn't really know Aboli very well, and truth be told she didn't always have the easiest time getting along with other females, but the Slytherin was clearly important to Noah and frankly Kimberly was curious. "Hi Aboli. Beautiful spot." She looked around for a minute to admire the garden, before unrolling her mat and laying it on the ground.

Aboli saw the Hufflepuff approaching, and so she waved her over, leaning up a bit on her elbows. "Hey!" she called out before sitting up straight, getting into the lotus position immediately. She would see just how serious Kimmie was about yoga, then, eh?
"Thanks. I figured the butterflies would be a nice background to our...uh, relaxation," she shrugged and closed her eyes. "So I guess I usually start easy and get more difficult." Her mind wandered to when she had done yoga with that Mathias bloke recently and HE hadn't been able to handle some of Aboli's favorite positions. It was funny! "I also HAVE to go yoga outside because I need to feel one with the earth..." she quoted something her mother said, a bit of an aaaaaairy quality to her voice. Ziggy Song was a straaaaange woman, and Aboli admired every bit of it in her mum. "I wish yoga was easy to do on the GRASS. But without a mat...I think it'd hurt my bum," she chuckled.
She shot a glance at the Hufflepuff, opening her eyes just to do so.

Missa was watching him very carefully. And while usually she would have filtered out her thoughts, and words to give him enough space to simmer in his angst - today was not that day. Because that was it? Professor Williamson knew him???
It was why she couldn't stop herself and the words slipped out before she knew it, "I feel like everyone at hogwarts ends up pushing your buttons somehow..." She wasn't being sarcastic either. She was just having some serious trouble being patient today. A thing she was sure she would regret.

K grinned at the other girl, as she set out her mat and gave a quick wave in her direction. "Thanks for letting me crash your yoga time." The hufflepuff was someone who enjoyed having company during and friends to work out with. She was excited to hear Aboli was also a fan of yoga and it was an easy excuse to try to hang out. She wasn't good at socializing just to socialize.
Stretching up once towards the sky and loosening out all of her limbs, K folded her legs and straightened her back to get comfortable into Lotus position, making sure her water bottle was also within easy reach. "You definitely thought right." Who didn't like butterflies? They were tranquil. She nodded as she explained her normal routine, "Sure! That sounds good to me." She sounded like she spent more time with poses than K herself did, so she was more than willing to just follow her lead.
Hearing Aboli talk about being one with the earth, K looked up at the sky and grinned slightly as she soaked in the sunshine. "I understand that. For me it's the sun. There's nothing like the natural warmth and lighting." Hearing Aboli's voice take on a bit of an airy quality as well, the 4th year glanced at her sideways. "Do you ever teach yoga? You have a very soothing quality to your voice." Was that a weird thing to say? Probably. Hearing her comment the grass could hurt, K chuckled slightly and gave a quick nod of her. "Probably so. Too many pesky hidden rocks and such." Not too mention she could be a bit prissy when it came to bugs.

Honestly, it was probably about time she ceased her filtering. They both knew he hardly had a filter of his own save for when it came to information. One key piece to the whole puzzle being one that he had not shared with her and that was due to his concern for her overthinking. He willingly shared knowledge if he felt it would make any real difference, he was no gatekeeper, but this was not one of those times.
"Well maybe they do," he said somewhat heatedly. She certainly had pushed one of his buttons right now - though he tended to secretly like it whenever she did. "This whole school is just one giant button pushing nuisance."
Salty and petty? Absolutely.

That sounds good to me." "You're very welcome," she said in response, calmly, coolly. "I don't really mind as long as you can keep up," she said as she closed her eyes again. Ahhh. OKay. Streeetching to the right - to the left - It was a good thing Kimmie agreed with her choice of location. Granted, Aboli didn't care if she did or not. Kimmie could pick the spot next time if they continued their rendezvous after this one.
Aboli continued to sit in the lotus position, just focusing on her breathing and stretching. "Um...I don't need the sun all the time. I need a balance of it all. Sometimes cloudiness and darkness is a welcome reprieve to constant sunshine," she opened one eye to look at Kimmie. "You can't be sunshine and roses ALL the time." Hmph. Hufflepuffs, she supposed. It also reminded her of what she USED to think of Noah in the beginning of term - all sunshine and roses - but she soon saw he had many layers to him. Thankfully.
But the Slytherin actually laughed. "Me? Soothing? OH good lord no - I don't think I'd make a good teacher. Of yoga or otherwise....I get in moods...I'm very moody...and people shouldn't cross me when that happens." Aboli's UNENDING PATIENCE AND WISDOM could only extend so far.

As long as she could keep up? K glanced at the girl sideways, before giving a slight shrug of her shoulders, "I'm sure I'll do okay. If I fall behind though, I'll make sure to stay out of your way and catch up eventually." K rolled her shoulders in order to loosen her body up a little more, before also stretching from right to left. She could already feel some of the tension leaking from her body and the Puff smiled slightly as it did so.
K adjusted herself slightly so she was sitting in the bound ankle pose and could lean forward to stretch out her spine and her thighs, focusing on her breathing as the other girl talked. She chuckled when she heard Aboli mention they couldn't be sunshine and roses all of the time and she nodded her head in agreement, "That's true. But living in Alaska, we unfortunately don't get that much sunshine. So when the sun's out, I make it a point to be as well." She much preferred when she would get to stay with her friends at the sunny beaches of California as compared to her colder home climate. "Where was it that your from?" She thought they might have discussed it when they met briefly at the great lake, but she couldn't remember the answer now. "I apologize if we already talked about it -- the lake got so chaotic the other day I can't really remember much of conversation."
Hearing her laugh, the Puff raised an eyebrow turning to look at her. She wasn't soothing? Usually moody? Then maybe she just had met her on a good day today? Or maybe there was still time to be told with that. "Well, your vocals are at least very soothing. And there's nothing really wrong with moody. I'm sure it could all be channeled into something productive anyways. No harm in yelling at people as a teacher either right? It's memorable." Tough love and all that.
