| | The Overgrown Garden To one side of the common room, woven seagrass matting leads to what once was the Hufflepuff's very own indoor garden. In the time since the mist took hold and the castle laid empty, however, the previously neat and tidy garden has overgrown somewhat, and now more resembles an unruly jungle. Judging by the rustling and squeaking in the undergrowth, it also seems like a number of new inhabitants have settled in.
By the entrance to the garden, some makeshift work benches and tools have been set up. Feel free to come lend a hand in getting the garden back to its former glory! |

| Anyone? lives in a hobbit hole || Ern and Touz's Nuzzle || roflysst || looking at a seed packet Having spent his first year at Beauxbatons while Hogwarts had been closed, Flynn had no idea that there had been a lovely indoor garden in the Hufflepuff commons, and actually there was something about the overgrown jungle-y mass that now existed in its place that was kind of cool in and of itself. It was curiosity, now that he was settled in his new dorm, that brought him here.
Flynn eyed up the tools at the entrance. Were they supposed to use them then? He wasn't sure where to start but thought exploring a bit first might be nice. When else would he get the chance?
Now where was the best way into the undergrowth?? And what would he find there? Flynn found a gap and worked on squeezing through it, slowly and carefully, and he disappeared from sight of the door.

Rowan hadn't even noticed the garden in the common room yet as he was so distracted by just about everything else at Hogwarts and in the common room. But today, as he made his way from the dormitory, the jungle was the first thing he saw - along with someone making their way inside. The boy excitedly followed, wondering who was also curious about the overgrown jungle.
Aha! It was Flynn. Of course! "Flynn! Wait for me!" He called as he caught up and squeezed through the same gap. Stumbling out into the brush, he stared all around him. "Merlin!" He breathed, turning to Flynn. "Do you wanna build a fort with me?" he grinned. That wasn't too kiddish, was it? Heh.

A hidden hideaway in this jungle-like garden, at least until it was cleaned up? It would be temporary, but cool for all that, and Flynn was all for cool things, not to mention still inclined to enjoy things that might be considered 'for kids' while he still felt like he could, even if that clock felt like it was ticking down with every awkward crack of his changing voice.
He grinned back at his dormmate. "Yeah! Lets! Right at the back wall maybe so it takes longer for it to be discovered! Because, I think the tools and all of that out there," He paused to gesture vaguely in the direction they came, "are so that we can clean this garden up and make it tidy." Which felt like a shame, but he could understand it, he supposed, at a logical level. "It sort of reminds me of this really old muggle book my grandma read me when I was sick one time, its called The Secret Garden. And the children find a garden and its all messy and stuff, and they make it nice again." No forts in that though.

Rowan was so relieved that he had someone who was just excited about making a fort as he was. It did seem childish to some, but thankfully Flynn seemed to still like to have fun. With that, Rowan peered back where his friend pointed out the tools. He gave a nod. Hopefully their fort would last as long as possible, because he wasn't about to go make one in that scary forest on the grounds. "The Secret Garden..." he said thoughtfully. "Y'know, I haven't read any Muggle books I don't think. But that sounds cool, maybe I can find a copy of it sometime and read it." He smiled. He did love reading, especially cool stories and one about a secret garden sounded pretty cool. "Perhaps we can make it nice again too, once our fort gets discovered." He laughed. How long would that take? Maybe no one else would take the time to come in here? He hoped so. He kinda preferred this messy jungle of a garden.
So. Back to building. "Maybe we can use some large sticks? We can stack them along a tree back there, it could make as a wall if we lean them against that branch..." he gave a point and a small shrug. "Or whatever you think would be best!" He added. He was all for more ideas.
