Professor Eris’ office is nothing spectacular but it is a completely organised and well functioning office. A large wooden desk sits slightly off-centre with a navy high-wing chair positioned behind it, comfortable for the hours that he will spend here; planning, marking, helping. The top of his desk is bare except for a tall desk file that had multiple tiers to the right and single picture frame that rotates through pictures of his family on the left hand side. His stationary is easily stored within the drawers to the left of his chair.
As you look towards the desk and Professor Eris, there are two large bookcases to your right. Transfiguration journals, various textbooks for each year, advanced transfiguration theories, animagi training books could all easily be seen, amongst a selection of subject-specific textbooks he had amassed over the years. The lower shelves of both cases hold a variety of books, muggle, non-fiction, fiction, instruction. If you see something interesting, don't be afraid to ask to borrow them - just don’t fold over the corners to mark your place!
Apart from a potted plant, the only other thing of note in the rather sparse office is the selection of filing cabinets that stand opposite the bookcases. A single picture hangs on the wall, it shows the Snowdonia mountain range mid snow-storm.

His mood sour the rest of the day, dinner had been consumed in silence. What had been consumed that is. Eiji had been lacking an appetite and had just barely finished his soup with half a roll while sitting beside Missa. Yes, this whole thing was surely helping their relationship which was hitting a rough patch and that had entirely to do with himself more than her.
It was all frustrating.
But nothing was more frustrating in the moment than being summoned to Professor Eris' office over leaving an OPTIONAL Transfiguration activity. He hadn't a clue what their professor could possibly say to them seeing as it was their choice whether or not they wanted to be there and they had left before things had even begun rather than in the middle - or returned as would be the case of Kaiser, it turned out - which felt more disrupted to this Slytherin. Transfiguration was hardly his favorite subject, nor his best. He struggled a fair bit with it and this term so far had been nothing but nails on a chalkboard for him and his nerves. Those baby dolls...had to go. He wasn't even doing the assignment and his marks in other subjects were suffering from their distraction. Their Transfiguration professor only encouraging it with those blasted Moses beds. He wished a spell or two would have struck one of the dolls during practicing. Why he imagined Headmaster Trent disallowed them from inside his classroom.
"....this is a load of dragon dung," he muttered to Missa under his breath as they approached the door. "...and now he is cutting into homework time by summoning us here like this."
Salty Bad Mood Rasting strikes again.
An indefinite aesthetic.
"...hopefully this won't take too long," he groaned as he knocked on the door thrice and then stepped back to wait, shoving his hands back into his trouser pockets.

Missa had resorted to just not thinking for once. It had been a task but she had managed - mostly because the crying babies everywhere were loud enough to quiet her down. Maybe she needed to stop hoping she would have a great term because every time she did - something or the other happened.
After stepping out of transfiguration, a gloom stayed in the air and basically followed her through out the day - Eiji's presence hadn't helped matters either, since she still didn't know what was going on with him or ... between them. After classes, she had gone through the motions of dinner later that evening, barely speaking or even trying to hide her disappointment of the day. She just wanted her bed and the day to end honestly - but no, she wasn't getting that.
Mostly in a gloom and negative headspace, she followed Eiji to Professor Eris' office - very sure that the day would end just as disappointing as it had begun. When Eiji spoke, she simply nodded - because she really wasn't listening, "yeah, here's hoping ..."

After dinner, Carwyn had returned to his office content on spending most of the evening marking homework in the vain hope that he wouldn’t need to spend as much of his weekend marking. Though, even he knew that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be busy over the weekend preparing for the upcoming week and being available in the Library for any student queries that popped up.
However, he was in the middle of marking a second years homework when the knock came to his office door. ”The door is open!” He called back as he rolled up the parchment and set it off to the side.
He waited for the door to open, and smiled as he saw Mr Rasting and Miss Renaldi entering. ”Ah, good evening.” He said with a soft smile, motioning to the chairs on the other side of his desk. ”Thank you for coming to talk to me.” The elder man watched them both carefully as they moved into his office and got comfortable, but waited to continue until they were both comfortable.

The obvious tension in Missa did nothing to quell his own irritation. While he wasn't irritated at HER exactly, he just did not know what to do at the moment to help with the spiral that was surely going on inside her head. Maybe he would in private but not here.
Eiji pulled open the door with some reluctance and allowed Missa to step inside first before he followed, shutting the door behind them both and eyed the seats offered by Professor Eris before sitting in the one to their right. There was only one office the sixth year ever felt any sort of comfort in and that was all the way down in the dungeons. He wasn't sure what to say in response to the thanks since the Transfiguration professor had requested their presence...there were obligated to show up.
So...he simply nodded his head and settled his hands in his lap.

Despite the tension, Eiji's presence was perhaps the only thing keeping her a bit steady at this point. Because she had walked out of a class, displeased a professor and maybe - just maybe that meant detention? or worse - being asked to give away her badge?
Her mind was a lovely place.
Following Eiji inside, and resisting the urge to hold his hand - the brunette managed to somehow greet back the Professor as they took a seat opposite him.
However when Eiji didn't really say anything, which wasn't surprising to be honest, Missa tried to take the lead, "Why did you want to see us, Professor?"

Carwyn smiled at them both as they sat down opposite him and he hoped his smile showed that he wasn’t angry at them. However, given the amount of tension he could feel coiling off their bodies it wasn’t likely.
”This won’t take us long, I don’t want to cut into your evening time any more than I need to.” He said, still smiling gently as he looked across the table at them.
”I wanted to give you both the opportunity to learn the spell we covered in the seminar today. You especially Miss Renaldi, seeing that you usually enjoy and exceed at Transfiguration." He paused and smiled at Mr Rasting. "That isn't to say that your work in my field is not above par either."
He paused and then continued. "We worked on transfiguring patches of fabric into baby hats which will be sent to St Mungo's for any new borns to be used. Every little thing can help on top of the work that the Minister already does." He smiled, having seen his own grandchildren benefit from the Minister and the Ministry's aid over the last few years.
"The baby hats will not be sent away to St Mungo’s until later in the week-” his fingers found the soft, small baby hat that was sitting on top of his desk, ”if you would care to add any of your own to the package. Obviously this is not required, however you did intend to take part in the seminar this morning until you arrived at the classroom door. As such, I thought I would give you the opportunity to do so without any actual babies being present.”
He leant back in his chair, still watching them. Admittedly, the two crying babies had ended up sleeping within minutes of them leaving and it had been a very productive hour… but nothing could be done now. Carwyn wanted them both to have the opportunity to learn. It was there if they wanted to take it. If not, it would be an even shorter talk than he thought.

Okay but...DID he even need to in the first place?
Also...why wasn't Kaiser here too? Hadn't he bailed out of the lesson as well? Left with his irritating baby doll and then never returned?
The more and more Professor Eris spoke on it felt like it wasn't necessary and that he, Eiji, was merely an accessory to this whole scene. An afterthought when the true aim was to teach Missa something. That was what the man had just outright said, wasn't it? Not only that, but the professor was also pointing out just how the Slytherin did NOT excel at the subject. That smile and attempt to save face did not help matters. Another afterthought.
Eiji was quite done here, thank you and no thank you. The sharp arch of his brows and set of his jaw visible cues of this.
"...and what other practical applications are there to this spell other than morphing the shape of a square of fabric to fit a baby's head?" he asked skeptically.

This really did prove that the lesson could have been done without the babies. But Missa was in no mood to bring that up. She just wanted the day to be over, so she just quietly listened as the professor talked.
While she was very flattered that the older man had noticed her interest in Transfiguration, she wasn't sure how much Eiji would like this. She had an urge to glance at him and figure out his mood - but the professor was still talking, and it was only polite to hold his gaze and keep listening, especially after what had happened in the morning. She didn't have to wonder long though, because the moment Eiji spoke up, she could easily tell how skeptical and unimpressed he still was about the entire thing.
.......And his question made her wonder things too.
"Also Professor, if this is for an act of charity," Because that seemed like the bigger goal of his lesson than the spell itself. "I am sure we can contribute in some other way too" It didn't have to be just about the spell. Because she could think of so many other things that they could sent over to St Mungos.
