 If you suffer from FOMO or just want to be in the involved with everything, then the middle passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what your summer plans, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by exchanging addresses, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

Nina Castillo was sill feeling rather hollow on the inside. So many of the people she loved dearly wouldn't be returning to Hogwarts next year and while she knew she wouldn't lose them forever, it was still upsetting to know that they wouldn't be around next year. Letters weren't the same as seeing a friend every day. She knew this first hand, as she had been communicating with Navid through letters all year. It wasn't the same and it almost made the distance hurt more.
Still she was one of the first few to board the train because Nina did not believe in arriving late. She couldn't risk being left behind. The front of the train was to be avoided at all costs seeing as the train ride from the beginning of the term went sour on that end. The back compartments were where all the slackers hung out and Nina wouldn't risk that crowd getting her into trouble.
So she found an empty compartment in the middle and took a seat next to the window. She was planning on spending the ride with Calyx, who would hopefully come to join her soon, but in the meantime she pulled out a book.

Pleasure reading. It was something she didn't give herself much time to do during the school year when her schedule was typically reserved for textbooks. This would only worsen with the coming of NEWTs, of course. In the meantime, however, she would allow herself a train ride sans NEWT-induced stress.
She heard the compartment door open as she turned to the next page, and didn't look up until she reached its end. Obviously she expected the compartment's new occupant to be Calyx. Though she hadn't necessarily told him where she would be sitting or that she would be waiting for him, she figured he'd know to find her. He was really good about that sort of thing. So you could imagine her surprise when the voice was about two octaves higher than the one she was expecting.
"Oh," her voice wasn't exactly reflecting disappointment (though she was feeling a little bit of that), but it was one reflecting her surprise. "Hi, Chloe," she greeted the girl with a polite smile. "... No, I don't mind." Though she really hoped the Ravenclaw would leave when Calyx stopped by because she was hoping for some privacy before they had to part ways for the summer. Not that they wouldn't be meeting up, but schedules were slightly less predictable during the summer holiday.
"You must be proud of Gunnar," Nina held him in very high regard. Graduating from Hogwarts with the Headboy badge, and countless other distinctions, she was sure.

Naya had survived her first full year as a Hogwarts student. Her time at the actual school had definitely been better than her part time gig at Beauxbatons. Strange at times, but better. Despite all that, she was ready to go home. OWL’s had taken everything out of her and a break was much needed right now.
After putting her belongings away, Naya searched for a compartment. Finding an empty one, she slipped inside and sat near the window. The almost sixth year put her backpack next to her, leaned back and made herself comfortable. Naya looked out of the window and pondered the first thing she would do when she got home.

Many people she spoke with were just as excited as she was to see it end, but she knew some weren't as excited. "I can't believe we are seventh years now, I mean technically not fully yet, but really they graduated so we are." How did it happen so quickly, she felt like she had just taken her owls and now she was going to be doing her NEWTS.
Taking a seat she opened a container of cookies she had made when she was making the graduate ones. Pulling a chocolate chip out for herself she held up the container. "Just made them a few days ago so they are still pretty fresh, would you like one?"
Just as she was about to take a bite of hers she gave Nina a nod, "Yeah, I am. He has been a great head boy this year. I know my parents are proud, they were both prefects when they were here and now he was head boy." Her eyes shifted out the window for a moment as she pushed away from the feeling of disappointment of Quidditch captain that she thought would be her only hope of being another family member for a badge. "I'll miss him though, with us being so close in age we haven't been really apart for very long. I remember when he left for his first year, I had Morgan which was great, but it felt like such a long term with him gone." She knew she was being stupid about it and she was a grown witch now, she shouldn't need her brother so close. "Anyway, got any big plans this summer?"

This wasn't something she did with many people though, so that much ought to be understandable. Nina didn't particularly enjoy sharing. "I guess," which wasn't a total lie. She was glad to be done with exams and glad to have time away from her classes. She didn't want anything of the other things to be over though. There was a lot she'd be leaving behind this term. "Time has passed quickly," she agreed, though her enthusiasm didn't quite match the Ravenclaw's.
Nina often found it annoying when someone ran their mouth for so long, but she didn't mind right now. It meant that she didn't have to speak as much, which was something Nina never took issue with. She would rather listen, so long as what she was listening to was intelligent. Right now, however, she didn't mind listening to anything. "I can imagine." She couldn't really do much beyond imagine though, being an only child and all. "Will he be going to uni?"
Chloe's question prompted a bit of unease. She did have big plans, but she hadn't sent in her applications. So. Um. "Not really, I'll be spending time with my mum in Spain." Austin was finally headed home. He happened to pass by Nina in a compartment. She was with a friend. He gave them a small wave and sat in a different empty compartment. At least she looked a bit happier.

She should have picked up on the quiet of Nina, but Chloe had so much on her own mind from this term that she missed the signs she should have been zoned in on. Her eyes stared out the window so she hadn't noticed anyone moving about. "I'm ready to be the top of the school though, I mean, we have been through a lot there and it just feels like we should have been already." She laughed and finally looked at her friend again.
For the first time, Chloe did look at Nina, it wasn't that she was finally realizing she was really quiet throughout her talking, but she realized she didn't know all that much about Nina outside of school. "Do you have any siblings?" Maybe she had some younger or older that Chlo hadn't realized. "He is going to Uni, he's pretty excited about it. I think it will be weird for mum, having him gone and Morgan and I at Hogwarts, but she does have my little brother and having another baby. " She tried not to sound too annoyed by that. She was starting to warm up to the idea of not being the only girl, but she still wasn't thrilled. "Spain sounds fun though. I'd love to go and see Spain someday." She knew her Uncle was from there, but that was about all her knowledge of Spain. When she was asked the question the same answer she had been saying came right out, "Quidditch, I can't wait to get playing again. Nina looked down to the book she was holding, closing it up and setting it beside her now as it was rather evident that she wouldn't have a chance to get any reading done. "No," she shook her head. She wasn't exactly disappointed, though it did get lonely. She wasn't sure whether she'd prefer to have siblings, but there was a part of her that was slightly jealous of Chloe's large family. "It's nice that you'll still have your younger brother here with you." She didn't realize there were two others in addition, but it also wasn't surprising. It was very evident in her mannerisms that she was a sister. Nina could have guessed it from kilometers away.
"You must," the whole country was beautiful, but Nina was strongly biased in favor of Alicante. They had the best beaches. Something else that did not surprise Nina was Chloe's plans to play quidditch. She was very well aware of the fact that the Ravenclaw took pride in the sport. Coincidentally, Nina didn't have much of an opinion about quidditch. She did attend the games in her first couple of years, sporting Józef's jersey and cheering him on. But her only real fondness of the game resulted from watching the cute boys play. So. She took no issue with the fact that it was put on hold. "That's nice. Do you know which department you'll be interning in?" Hopefully not whatever their equivalent of Mysteries was because Nina would not recommend that to ANYONE.

"Me neither," she replied simply. Nina knew she'd reach a point where she would feel more at ease taking them, but ready? Ready to get them over with, maybe. "Maybe," she replied to Chloe's musings. Honestly, even if quidditch were to return, it wouldn't really change anything for Nina. As far as she knew Calyx wasn't a superfan either, so she would probably skip the games all together and take advantage of an emptier castle.
"Yeah, it does have its advantages, I guess," whether those outweighed the disadvantages wasn't something Nina could say without properly thinking about it though. She was, however, thankful that she didn't have a younger sibling to destroy her things. That was very reminiscent of Eloise and Céline. The Slytherin gave the girl a small smile as she continued speaking, glad not to do much of it herself.
"Calyx interned in the Department of Environmental Protection last summer." Though she supposed that this was something Chloe likely knew as she was friends with Calyx. He was friends with everyone. "It was the British Ministry, but he absolutely loved it so I'm sure you'll have an incredible time if it works out."

Her eyes shifted towards the compartment door for the first time as she thought about if she would see Ewan before they got back to the station or if maybe he would avoid her this trip, but she couldn't dwell on something she had no control over so her blue eyes moved back to Nina. "Ah, well, it's not until fall anyway, no point in thinking about it now. Sun and freedom is all that's in front of us." She smiled thinking about her teammates and how excited she was to see them all. "Do you have cousins or any family that are close like siblings? Both my parents are only children, but my dad's side is pretty big so we have cousins from my grandpa's siblings and they are my age, so they are like siblings too." She was hoping to get to see Regina this summer.
Oh yes, Calyx, that didn't surprise her at all. "I bet he was great working there. He does so well in the greenhouses. It's actually how we became friends." She enjoyed hanging out with her friend in the greenhouse, he was so smart and even though she knew many things, he still was able to teach her a few more. "I've always just figured I'd probably get into herbology if I didn't do quidditch, but well.. I guess you know this story." They had talked about her thoughts on counseling when they had gotten into that disagreement, but it wasn't something Chloe wanted to bring back up. "I hope I'm not keeping you from Calyx." The thought just struck her that maybe she shouldn't be here, maybe Nina wanted to be alone and wait for him.
