| | |  Battlements
 High above overlooking the lake and a section of the grounds are the castle battlements. During the Battle of Hogwarts, the battlements where used to defend the school from Lord Voldemort and his allies. This is also where Sirius Black rode away on Buckbeak the hippogriff, but keep that hush hush. Though some damage remains, the battlements remain fairly intact and provide an opportune place to be when an enemy is approaching.
Though there hasn't been a full-blown battle at Hogwarts for many years, the battlements nonetheless provide a nice view from a high vantage point. More often than not, the Giant Squid can be seen bathing himself in the sunlight; thestrals (if you can see them) fly above the trees at the edge of the lake; and if you look closely you'll be able to follow the road that leads to the Entrance Gates. If you're feeling up to climbing the tight spiral staircase to get there, know that it is worth the effort. There are wooden crates and barrels for you to sit on at the top should you need to catch your breath.

Poor Headmaster Trent really DID deserve some kind of medal or something. FIRST he'd had to deal with that AWFUL Beauxbatons Headmistress saying mean things ALL term long, acting like she was a better leader than he was EVEN though it turned out she was EXTREMELY wrong. NOW he had all these fake founder people walking around trying to STEAL his title away from him and really, the guy just couldn't catch a break. Cecelia felt quite bad about all of it and so she moved a little closer to him, raising her wand like he'd asked. She even did her best to forget about food in an effort to focus more, which was VERY difficult, did he know? She was TRYING.
Also, it was REALLY strange raising your wand up against the person who'd, like, invented the house you belonged to. Seriously strange.

A hearty laugh bellowed from the bearded lips of Godric Gryffindor. ”Run in fear, coward! It’s just like your kind to!” For bold words, that little Slytherin girl was no match when Gryffindor took charge. She would do well to not forget her place in future. HA HA.
But the laugh was soon stifled by the Hufflepuff lad. His exclamation of the sword being cool—yes it was, wasn’t it? He’d recently polished it. Did anyone want to fee?—was quickly overshadowed by his own insolence. “Your Trent may not be around much longer, I’d be more careful how you speak to me, boy.” Calling his chivalry into question. Who did that kid think he was? Did he know who HE was?
“Being Headmaster does not suddenly make me not a founder.” And that one was meant to be a Ravenclaw. Rowena would be appalled. “I am founder and Headmaster. The Headmaster makes the decisions regarding the school and that is what we will do together as we did in days of old.”
The good ole days when children did not so carelessly mouth off to them and bravery meant something.
“There are several trap doors.” Just to confirm that question. “But I am not your servant. I am the great Godric Gryffindor! You will fetch them yourselves. I don’t have anything in any extended bags.” Did they expect him to do absolutely everything? Preposterous!
As preposterous as...as their Headmaster there. Godric raised his sword in response to the man’s command. “Down, lower your wands. It is not my wish to lay harm on most of you. Lower your wands and no one has to get hurt.”

At first, Isla just gave Minjae a look of disbelief. Had he not seen that very same 'cool' sword right in her face a second ago? He at least came to his senses a moment later. Sheesh. Boys. At least Chloe had come to her rescue. She knew she had always liked Chloe for a reason. The Slytherin gave the older girl a look of appreciation but otherwise said nothing. It wasn't exactly the time for conversation.
The only thing left to do was just watch the headmaster and follow his lead...which was hopefully the exit. That is, if they could get the annoying Gryffindor, aka house founder, out of the way. Wait a second...Trent wanted them to raise their wands?! That was the only way out of here? Did he know how she felt about dueling? How terrified she was of it?!?!
Nevertheless, she raised her wand. It was better to do something terrifying than to just stand unarmed. She had no idea how to defeat a portrait, but she supposed in about one to two minutes she'd find out. In the meantime... "Protego!" she said, moving her wand in that straight, single line.

Jillian was fed up with all these shenanigans with Godric Gryffindor's portrait ghost. She stared at him for a long time when he said he's the headmaster. Not to mention his on-going ridicule of Slytherins. U G H. Of course she felt like rolling her eyes at this point but still, provoking this wouldn't be the smartest thing to do so she'd rather just keep an eye on everyone else and follow Headmaster Trent's orders. "Yes, headmaster" she nodded as she follows just behind him.
Wands up as instructed, Jillian almost glared at that 'coward' comment. Yes, because acting so brave and insufferable to a bunch of teenagers makes him not a coward at all. This was childish and that's saying a lot. And no she's not going to lower her wand just because some animation tells her to do so. She follows order from Headmaster Trent and unless he is the real Gryffindor, she will as well. But as of right now, they need to move and find his portrait.

“Oh for heaven’s sake!”It had taken so long to find this set, longer than she had liked though truly not that long at all and here they were trying to play at swords. “Hellooooooo.” She called from just outside the entrance, having shoved her way into the frame of a little girl hung just so.
“Yoohoooooo! If you’re done playing, the group in the underground chamber have found the portraits! Hurry, hurry now. I’ll need the conclusion to go gabbing with my girl pals.”
Who liked an unfinished story? Not Mildred.
Why were they still standing around?

Did he expect Gryffindor to simply step aside and let them leave? No; the man...portrait...thing...had proven much too annoying and driven for that. They were in all likelihood going to have to fight their way out of this. At least none of the students had listened at the threat to lower their wands. He was still in charge here, not the founder.
“We may not be able to hurt you, but we can certainly get you out of the wa—“
Malachi looked through the entrance that led back to the corridor. What was that portrait yelling about? Wait! They’d actually found them?! Oh merlin, this would all finally end!
Hoping it was enough of a distraction, the Headmaster quickly turned his wand back to Gryffindor. ”Incarcerous!” And a knockback jinx on a loose barrel to knock him away from the way out. Physical attacks, as he’d surmised following De Nostredame’s ill-run in with Gryffindor, were about the only thing they had on their side. If they could slow him down or render him unable to get in the way, things would go more smoothly.
Without wasting time, he turned to the students once more. “Come on!” The frames were found, they didn’t need to stay here and let this one waste more of their time. Malachi ran wide around the hopefully entirely bound man, indicating the path for the students to follow before disappearing back into the castle.
Underground chamber? It actually made a lot of sense now.

What ever happened to youth in rebellion! Clearly these youths knew not what they deserved!
As Godric's glorious lips parted to warn them all of their final chances, so did the loose lips of another. "IT CAN NOT BE!" Godric bellowed in protest. Who had dared betrayed their loyal quest?! "The lady is lying! The portraits a----" But before he could finish, the might Godric Gryffindor was ensnared by ropes and his arms tied to his sides so he could not wield his sword which had not falling to the ground with a clank. "NOOOOOOOO!" What was the mighty Godric Gryffindor without his sword?
Though no sooner had he bent over to lift it and free himself did the barrel connect with his rump and sent the man tumbling away from the object of his desire and out of the departing group's path.

Isla simply stood there, armed with Protego, while everything else around her seemed to suddenly happen at once. As her shield faded away, a random portrait appeared at the entrance and did a mic-drop announcement about the main portraits being found. Then the portrait proceeded to shoo them along as if Gryffindor wasn't even blocking the exit.
Uhhh...
...and then Trent sprang into action and pretty much fixed everything for them. You didn't have to ask Isla twice. It was time to get out of here, and it was time to do it NOW. The headmaster took off, and Isla took off after him. Not before snatching Gryffindor's sword off the ground, though, and taking it with her. She'd hand it in to a staff member when they got to their next destination.
...and with that, the first year was gone.

So much was going on at once, but Chloe had kept her stance. She wasn't going to lower her wand unless told by the Headmaster and she didn't trust Gryffindor. When another portrait came over she was relieved and suspicious all at once. She would be looking to Trent to make sure he trusted before she moved.
When he did give the order she followed the rest out of the are giving a last look at Gryffindor before moving out of the room and down the corridor.

If the frames were found, that meant food was happening, and NO ONE needed to tell Cecelia twice that it was time to go.
The second year gave a fleeting glance to Godric and then headed for the exit as her wand was tucked away, following quickly on the heels of her classmates. That had been a RUSH and all, but she was ready for other things.
