Consisting of hundreds of pristine and crystal clear glass windows, a number rivaled only to that of its inhabitants, it is spacious and the perfect domed getaway for those seeking a more colorful and slightly less polished place to study or pass the time. Benches carved from stone lay along the winding paths within, though one should not be surprised to find that some of the birds have taken it upon themselves to apply a bit of...shall we say decor to the seating? Students may earn extra credit from Professor de Nostredame by taking care of both fauna and flora found here, as well as using scrub brushes to clean the stones of any and all droppings.
Adjacent to this great domed sanctuary is another, smaller, one approximately half its size that is connected by a narrow glass tunnel bookended by sets of heavy glass doors and chains of crystal to prevent each dome's inhabitants from mixing with one another. This second sanctuary houses no feathered friends, but those of the from the the arthropod class Insecta. Butterflies of every color and size flutter about in here, along with some other small friends. Be careful where you step and sit as Professor de Nostredame will not take will to you squishing anything from this exquisite collection.
SPOILER!!: creatures to be found here
All creatures were previously evacuated due to the mist situation and housed at various sanctuaries around the United Kingdom as well as at the Ministry of Magic. With the boggarts safely removed from Hogwarts, these creatures have been permitted to return.
OOC: if you have a 'special case' creature, this is where they will be housed. Please PM for permission as well as to have the creature added to the list.
Fairies:
- Violet (Female; rainbow wings with a purple dot)
- Oren (Male; green wings with pearl dots)
- Silvermist (Female; Silver wings with whit dots)
- Brock (Male; Blue wings with a gold dot)

One of the things Claudine had gotten used to was roaming the Grounds by herself. Don’t get her wrong, being alone was something she loved. That particular afternoon, she decided to take a break from and sketching, and basically everything else but homework, to make another trip to the Aviary and Lepidopterarium. It was no Rose Garden (which she really wished that Hogwarts had, by the way) but the little creatures there were interesting enough.
Plus it was a good place to do homework.
The only issue were the bird droppings but as she had mastered the Scouring Charm, Claudine had no issue at all to do a quick clean of the stone bench she had chosen for herself. Instead of retrieving her books from her bag to get started on that homework, though, the second year randomly stared at some of the flora before her.
They were pretty but in that moment, Claudine wasn’t really seeing them.

As a seventh year, Gunnar had taken on his own independent study projects as he was certain that it would help him gain acceptance into the university of his choice, and it was generally something he was interested in anyway. And part of his studies had taken him out onto the ground and into the aviary.
Notebook in hand, he entered the glass-encased building and allowed his eyes a moment to take everything in. It really was beautiful in here, the plantlife as well as birdsong contributing to the peaceful environment.
He soon noticed a smaller figure also present, whom he almost immediately recognized as Claudine Blaze, his distant cousin. Although his family was estranged from the Blazes, he knew who they were and by association, and her being in his house, knew who Claudine was.
"Hello, Claudine," he greeted the second year politely, then turned his eyes upward, looking for a bird he could observe for now.

This Snakette was lost in her own world filled with… well, bits and pieces of everything that was happening in her life. They weren’t dramatic or frightening things but surely everyone had those days where some happenings weighed heavily on their minds. She was having one of those days. In front of others, she would usually present herself in a ‘cool, calm, judgy’ way but now that she was by herself, she abandoned that exterior.
She visibly was startled when her name was called: the book on her lap slipped and fell on the ground with a thump! It was only Gunnar, her distant relative, fellow Snake, Head Boy and Mr. Always-In-Control. “Oh, hello, Gunnar.’’ Claudine bent over to retrieve her book. It was the Charms text but now she was looking at it with disgust. Why? For the book had landed open and faced down and the two pages were now smudged with bird poop.
Yuck.
Claudine's expression was now arranged in one of disgust.
