| | Carriage Corridors The inner veins of this whole operation but so seldom thought about; you've reached the carriage corridors. From here, you can access several areas of the carriage. The seating areas remain on the outer parts, bathrooms, the lounge and some corridors that frankly lead nowhere at all.
The soft colours within the corridors are meant to have a calming effect on all those who walk through it. On some of the walls, there are portraits containing images of different parts of Beauxbatons Castle. Most notably, there is a picture of a large park and another on the opposite side of the same wall containing one of a grand rose garden, the pride of Headmistress Desmarais.
If the lounge is a tad too full for your taste or you've found yourself with a bit of restlessness that prevents finding yourself a seat, why not have a little walk around. You won't get particularly far, but stretching your legs never hurt.

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight By some miracle, Kaiser was coming back. He hadn't expected to, in fact it had been his plan not to. But a very eventful summer had led to some rearranged OWLs, and he'd just the previous day got word that he'd managed to pass four of them, even (to his great surprise) achieving Exceeds Expectations in both Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions. It was enough for him to proceed to NEWT studies, which meant here he was. Had he failed, that probably wouldn't have been an option, given he had already been held back one year. Didn't seem likely that they'd let anyone stay at Hogwarts until they were twenty.
Of course, he wasn't really coming back to anywhere. He was going somewhere entirely new. Somewhere a lot fancier than Hogwarts, which honestly already overwhelmed him with what he considered grandiosity. From what Kaiser could gather from even just the carriages, Beauxbatons was going to be a lot more like that one fancy hotel that Annaliese had taken to when he was eleven and extremely hungry. Kaiser had never seen anything like it since, but he had a feeling he was about to with Beauxbatons.
He'd not settled himself anywhere in particular yet. Kaiser was feeling massively out of place wherever he went in the carriage, not to mention that finding a place to sit meant he'd probably instantly end up getting stuck in his thoughts. No, it was better to keep moving, keep the restlessness at bay, and check out the paintings on the walls in the process, to give him some idea of exactly where he was headed.
... Yeah, he definitely did not belong in a place like this. Quote:

Kaiser was aware of the other people in the corridor, not being the kind of person to ignore his surroundings, but he made a point of keeping to himself. Mostly he was just making his way down the corridor painting by painting, but that did eventually mean that he ended up in roughly the same spot as a girl who must have been a seventh year, as she looked a similar age to him but definitely wasn't in sixth year. "Fancy place," he said in a casual sort of way, neither expecting nor denying the possibility of a conversation. Just... not wanting to say nothing at all.

| Open for anyone! curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog To be quite honest, Nettie was a little disappointed she wasn't riding the train this year. Not only did it mean that they were NOT headed to Hogwarts and the mist still had the castle hostage - but she didn't get to sit in the prefect's carriage. It was a small perk, and awfully selfish of her, but she'd been looking forward to it. That and the prefect's bathroom...
Sighing a bit to herself, she continued to make her way through the corridors of the carriage. For some reason, the idea of being pulled by giant horses was making her a little nauseous. She felt the carriage moving more than the train...or was she imaging things? Frowning to herself, she fidgeted with her bag as she looked for a place to sit.

Weird. Valencia was having a hard time processing this. It all seemed like a weird dream. They were actually going to school in France. They were actually not on the train. The problem wasn't actually solved. Her little mind was incapable of processing the very fact that Hogwarts wasn't safe. That was the very foundation of knowledge. Hogwarts was always safe and always there.
We walked the corridor with her hands in her pocket trying to figure out her entire life.

It was very confusing, Elisa kept thinking to herself. Thinking had been a dangerous territory lately. Why? She couldn't tell you, at least not now if one asked her. Last term ended poorly and a new change in scenery was helping her cope.
"Hm?" She heard a comment, taking a moment to process what was said. "Oh, yes. Fancy." Elisa brushed her hair away from her face to look over at who just spoke to her. Hadn't she seen him before? He definitely wasn't a Beauxbatons student judging on the lack of blue on him. Definitely younger than her since she knew everyone in her year. "So what do you know of Beauxbatons?" Suddenly having a conversation was welcoming to her. |

She felt the carriage moving more than the train...or was she imaging things? Frowning to herself, she fidgeted with her bag as she looked for a place to sit. Grandiose. That was the word that stuck in Dalia's mind as she traveled the carriage. Or was it carriages? Honestly, it was very hard to tell from the inside. All that was certain was that it didn't feel at all crowded despite the number of people that had boarded. It was very different from what she was used to back home, where no one lived at school and everyone was either driven or took the bus.
When she had first signed up for the student exchange program, it was quite an adjustment to get used to the idea that she'd be going to a boarding school. She'd read up on Hogwarts and had actually been quite excited to go, only to have the rug pulled out from under her when she was told that all Hogwarts students would be going to Beauxbatons. Of course, the only literature that could be found on the school was all in French which, despite Papa Carter's best efforts, she had only picked up a few phrases. So, she was going into this pretty much blind, but if these carriages were any indication, whoa.
The Cuban was feeling both restless and the need to explore, which meant that she was wandering the corridors. She'd been so for a few minutes when she came across someone who appeared to be doing the same. "Hola!" she greeted cheerfully, waving. "Oops, I mean hello." And yes, she did have an accent.

| Probably won't have time to RP properly here, but wanted to post her anyway xP Arts TRANSPONSTER! To say Anna was disappointed she wouldn't be riding the Hogwarts Express one last time was an understatement. That, but especially the fact she wouldn't get the chance to go back to the Castle - and her beloved, cozy Common Room - to spend her very last schooling year there was more than enough to make the Gryffindor prefect upset.
And obviously many other facts that if she started listing and thinking about them, her mood would only go from bad to worse, so never mind.
This wasn't a terrible way to get to school, though Anna would've appreciated it a lot more were she not in the mental state she was. She wasn't in the mood to socialise and so she would put on her Prefect hat and patrol the... very short carriage corridor. Ugh, it wasn't even like she could spend a lot of time doing that like she did aboard of the Hogwarts Express which ironically she never wanted to do in order to avoid her prefect duties.
The seventh year could tell, however, that they were headed to a very posh place and the students there were highly likely to be fancy and posh and big headed. Someone else she wasn't particularly looking forward to. And that crazy French language?? She still couldn't get over how they pronounced things so bizarrely. Hopefully she'd get used to it through the year.
And should she tell Headmaster Trent she was not up for being responsible for the French students as well as their own school ones? Having to make sure Hogwarts kids were acting in line was hard work enough, she wasn't keen on doubling the number of people she was supposed to be responsible for. |

Nettie heard someone talking to her and turned to give the girl a smile. The accent wasn't something she could miss - which reminded Nettie sadly of the time that SHE too had a thick French accent, but after having been immersed in English culture for four straight years now, it had all but faded away. Amazing how young minds were impressionable like that...
Realizing that her thoughts had run away from her and she was just sort of staring, she chuckled and smiled again. "Hello," she greeted the girl. "Trying to find a place to sit too?" she asked, making polite conversation.

Suddenly having a conversation was welcoming to her. It was okay. Kaiser was quite patient, and allowed the girl time to process his words without even a flicker of irritation. He glanced back at the painting, taking note of the rose garden and idly wondering if the scent of the actual real life roses wafted very far over the Beauxbatons grounds, or if it even infiltrated the castle. He couldn't honestly say if that would please him or not, because, try as he might, he couldn't even recall what a rose smelled like.
Looking at the girl again, Kaiser shrugged his shoulders and stuck his hands into his pockets, a habit he hadn't yet been able to break. At this point, he doubted he ever would. "Very little, I am afraid," he said casually, rocking momentarily onto his heels. "I know the country better than I know the school. What about you? Any inside information?"

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Belle was living for this moment. Absolutely LIVING.
As much of a home Hogwarts was to her, she was quite excited about spending her final year of school in glamour. Plus it gave her every excuse to don a beret over her fiery red hair and glide around as if she were a graceful Parisian ballet dancer. Mind you, she was anything but graceful or French. Though anyone who felt the need to convince her otherwise was simply in denial.
"Bonj-hour, bonj-hour," she repeated in what she believed was a passable French accent as she danced (quite literally) through the corridor of the carriage. Though, just like her ballet dancing, her French was anything but authentic. In the mind of Maybelle Janis Pepper, however, she was a wondrous sight to behold.
"Oh, de-sol-eh!" Belle exclaimed whenever she happened to bump into someone who didn't step out of the way quick enough to avoid her flailing about the space. Bonj-hour = Bonjour = Hello
De-sol-eh = Désolé = Sorry

Elisa's eyes momentarily glanced at his hands that moved to his pockets. This was awkward, moving hands to a different position was a telling sign she observed. Given her mind she still had some doubt clouding her judgement regarding situations. I'm probably making him nervous.. she thought, not really wanting to give off the air that she wasn't one to converse with. "Well, I've heard they fancy seafood and undercooked meals more. So I expect our diet won't consist of as much heavy meals anymore." Returning her thoughts to rumours she had heard from family friends. Usually she tuned out on those conversations.
"I can't say I've ever been to France recently.." Since he had hinted at knowing of it more than her. "What do you know of the country?" Maybe they had a special town like Hogsmeade there? She was interested. |
