Default The Rules and Expectations

Thanks to Kita for the pretty banner!

In Character (IC) :

Respect: Kindly respect your Professor and classmates. If anyone asks a question you think is silly or has an obvious answer, please do not respond to them in a sarcastic manner or any other way that shows disrespect. We are all here to heighten our knowledge. If you are not clear on my instructions or explanations, let me know. I will be happy to repeat them until you understand.

Punctuality: Please be on time to classes. I will not hesitate to deduct points for failure on this rule.

Etiquette: Raise your hand when in class if you need something be it to ask or answer a question. Please use indoor voices at all times.

Preparation: I expect you to be present with the necessities including your textbooks, notebooks, wand, parchment and writing apparatus. Pencils or pens are a MUST. In addition, I expect you to bring a sharp and inquisitive mind, thirsty for knowledge.

Dress Code: School uniform is required for lessons unless I specify differently. Your uniform must be neat and clean at all times.

OUT OF CHARACTER (OOC) :

SS RULES and General Classroom Rules should be applied at all times.

Plagiarism: I expect you to use your own words when supplying an answer. You may use the SS archives; other Harry Potter sites and Google but phrase your answers in your way.

Editing: Please DO NOT edit your post once you have posted unless it's to correct coding or spelling/ grammar. I repeat, DO NOT change your answers. I will know if you have. I highly advise you to proof read your posts before submitting.

IC and OOC: IC rule breaking will be punished, of course, with IC punishments (these include point loss and detention); OOC rule breaking will be dealt with in OOC ways (these include warnings and infractions). Do not mix IC situations with OOC ones. Kaysha and I are separate persons and I still love all of you, the RPers, no matter if Kaysha docks points or something of the sort.

Realism: While I cannot tell you how to RP your character, kindly keep in mind your character’s age and knowledge level. Younger students are not likely to know everything. The same goes for older students. More than having correct answers, I REALLY appreciate out- of- the- box thinking.

HAVE FUN! RPing is all about fun! I would be more than happy to RP with anyone out of classes. Likewise, Kaysha’s office door is always open to anyone, staff or student. If you prefer to RP somewhere else, we’ll be just as happy to!

Other Important Information:

The Grading System:

Each lesson will have a total value of twenty (20) points and will take the format of: Arrival, question, question, practice/mini-activity, practical/main activity, closure. This format may vary at times. Arrival, the questions and the mini activity will carry the weight of twelve (12) points while the main activity will carry the weight of eight (8) points. In terms of answering questions, you gain the points for them regardless if your character provides a verbal or non verbal answer. Honestly, I don't expect them to know every single thing. For the activities, these points are secured based on details and creativity.

Question 1 - 3 points possible (verbal and non-verbal correct/incorrect responses accepted. Answers that are completely off topic are also accepted with varying degrees of IC consequences)

1 = member produces a post that does not in any way acknowledge the prompt, (makes absolutely no mention of the professor or the question or anything else happening in the classroom) OR produces a post with a copied response from web/another student without putting it into their own words or making mention that they're piggy backing off the person who's answer they're copying.
2 = member produces a post with a response that is original/in their own words but lacks details such as a charries personal opinion/thoughts/feelings/reaction or any other detail that adds individuality to the post.
3 = member produces a post with a detailed response that is original/in their own words in addition to personal thoughts/reactions/feelings/opinions. (Note: These do not have to be explicitly said by the character, just mentioned in the post to create depth rather than a post that states the answer and ends.) Thoughts on a characters lack of interest in the subject, their excitement about whatever is happening, what they'd rather be doing or however else you choose to showcase your character's personality.

Question 2 - 3 points possible (verbal and non-verbal correct/incorrect responses accepted.

Practice/Mini-Activity - 4 points possible (at least 1 post required -- does not need the "correct" end result to get maximum points)

2 = member produces a post with minimal detail (provides character action, missing many essential details such as character thoughts, impressions, opinions, feelings)
3 = member produces a post with acceptable detail (provides character actions, missing some essential details ex. saying a character is annoyed but not mentioning why, having a character give up without reason, refuse to do the activity without reason etc.)
4 = member produces a post with exceptional detail (provides character actions/thoughts, eg. a post in which a character's thoughts/feelings are explored or made mention of (negative, positive or neutral), actions are provided in some amount of detail such as how they do whatever they're doing (carefully? sloppily?) etc)

Practical/Main Acitivty - 8 points possible (at least 1 post required -- does not need the "correct" end result to get maximum points)

1 - 4 = member produces a post with minimal detail (provides character action, missing many essential details such as character thoughts, impressions, opinions, feelings)
5 - 6 member produces a post with acceptable detail (provides character actions, missing some essential details ex. saying a character is annoyed but not mentioning why, having a character give up without reason, refuse to do the activity without reason etc.)
7 - 8 = member produces a post with exceptional detail (provides character actions/thoughts, eg. a post in which a character's thoughts/feelings are explored or made mention of (negative, positive or neutral), actions are provided in some amount of detail such as how they do whatever they're doing (carefully? sloppily?) etc.)

The Time Frames:

Catch up posts are accepted even though you will be given adequate time for answering questions and participating in activities. I know RL can get hectic. You will have about twenty four (24) hours from the time of my posts to answer questions. However, the mini and main activities timings can vary. I will specify this during the classes in an OOC message. Classes will last approximately ten days. The Time Zone that will be used is Eastern Standard Time (EST).

If I change these systems, I will be sure to specify so in my class posts in the form of OOC notes so that you can earn as many points as you can

Contacting Me:

If you have any questions regarding my lessons, just want to make arrangements for an RP or for any other reason, please contact me via Skype/ MSN (fearless_leader19@hotmail.com) or via PM/ VM. I’m sure you all know by now that I fail at Twitter. I will always try to get back to you ASAP.
