Make a Splash at the Badger Bash! credit: govoni Is the first month back to school getting you down? Are the professors piling on the coursework, leaving you to wonder how you'll ever see the outside of a library again? Were you simply not ready? Never fear! Hufflepuff is here! In true Badger fashion, the Hufflepuff Leaders invite everyone to partake in a day of sunshine and fun (before the weather turns)! So, on a bright Saturday morning, the area of the grounds surrounding the lake have been transformed. A long table has been set up before you reach any of the fun, piled high with white tees in every size the Hogwarts population might need. Grab one and slip it on. A large iron tub filled with multicolored water balloons offers an explanation. Instead of being filled with pure water, you'll find they've undergone a technicolor change. Burst one against a fellow student or professor and colored water will stain their shirt. BUT WATCH OUT. Some of the balloons are heavy with SLIME. It won't be obvious which are which, so toss at your own risk! Just off the water's edge, a large slide has been constructed. If you're brave enough to ride it down, it'll deposit you several feet out into the water. Far out enough to enjoy the drop from the slide, but not so much that you'll be unsafe. The Prefects are on duty and watching! Back on land and further up the way, an enormous quilt blanket has been laid out. It's been laden with light snacks and drinks to keep everyone hydrated and happy. Fruits of every kind, crudités, crisps, pasties, and small pies are among the offered treats. Drinks include butter beers, water, and juices. BEWARE OF THE HOUR RULE. Don't eat and swim! |
He had little interest in joining any water fight, so Professor Noble had quickly made himself comfortable on a foldable camping chair on the edge of picnic blanket as far away from the lake as possible. In one hand he held a butterbeer, and with the other he held a copy of the Manchester Evening News, which he was currently using to shield his eyes from the autumnal sunshine as he surveyed their efforts. The Prefects had done a great job getting everything ready, and helping him fill the magical water balloons that would stain the white shirts, but held no other environmental risks. And of course, the house elves had outdone themselves with the array of food. Now, all they needed was for the rest of Hogwarts to come join the fun. |
Eniola was excited and couldn’t wait to get into the water, but she decided to explore everything first. Reading quickly about the shirts she got a wicked grin on her face and slipped off her current shirt in favor of the white t-shirt to wear over her bathing suit. This will be fun. Eni thought to herself as she picked up a blue balloon and looked for her first |
Come out and play! After finishing helping set everything up, Archer had dashed back to the castle to change into her swimsuit with some old shorts and one of the white shirts over it before people could start to show up. Unfortunately, it had taken a little longer than she'd expected, thanks to some problems with a couple of firsties. But she'd made it back in time, thankfully. And slightly nervous about certain substances in some of the balloons. She hadn't exactly had the express permission of Professor Noble for use of slime, after all (call it a big maybe). Which is partly why it had only ended up in some of the balloons instead of all of them. Too late to do anything about it now, though. Which is why she was only slightly nervous. Waving at Professor Noble, Archer headed over to the tub and collecting a water balloon, bouncing it in her hand while scanning the area. Hmm....who to hit first....? |
We're here! Hufflepuff was throwing some sort of bash water party out on the grounds. While she wasn't a badger herself, her boyfriend, cousin and many of her friends were. Which could only mean one thing... Rylee Prichard would be there to join in on the fun. The very first thing that caught her eye was the large water slide. There was no doubt in her mind that she would be checking that out very soon. First things first though, what was all the white tee shirts for? While looking for one that was her size she quickly spotted the large bucket filled with water balloons! YES! Quickly tugging the white shirt over her head, which fell almost to her knees because she wasn't in the mood to keep looking for a smaller one, she than grabbed a purple balloon. "Hello, Professor Noble! Hi, everyone! This looks really cool!" In other words the Badgers had done a really nice job setting this up. Tossing the balloon back and forth between her hands she smiled. "Anyone want to check out the water slide with me?" |
*nabs you* Quote:
Turning around she ran back, laughing, to the bucket to gather a better supply of water balloons and prepare for the inevitable water balloon war. |

The crowd was still somewhat small and Professor Noble was there, presumably to supervise against any funny business. Waving at the few present, "HEYYY EVERYONE!" it was Rylee too that caught her eye and made her feel a little less out of place (cause she thought she might be the only non-badger here but wasn't so YAY) WAS THAT....??? The sixth year didn't need to be told twice and slipped on a white t-shirt before grabbing a couple water balloons. No need for warnings, cause obviously the aim was to catch off guard and as such, tossed at Eni, hoping her aim would be better than in Defense Against the Dark Arts. If not, she did have her wand in her back pocket to utilize for support. ooc: from what I can tell, Eni has been at Hogwarts the whole time so I can assume they're somewhat acquainted, yes?? <3 |
Patrick walked down toward the lake, he had heard about the Hufflepuff bash. There was absolutely no doubt that he would show up. He liked to be in the midst of things. He noticed that there were a few students around but not many. He had sunglasses on his face and a smile there too. It was a nice place to be in a Saturday. Standing on the outskirts he looked on trying to figure out who arrived that he knew. |

Eni laughed and waved at the girl before chasing after her and readying her own aim for sweet, sweet ooc: indeed Eni has been around Hogwarts since first year :D I'll leave it up to you to decide whether that balloon broke on Maeve or the ground :P |
Maeve and Patrick mentions! Open tho Kamryn sighed softly as she walked down to the lake, she hadn’t felt in the partying mood lately, she had just felt so lonely lately and Trig was already so busy. Part of her just wanted to stay in her room and cry, but she knew Maeve would be here, especially for her, and Bast would as well, so she dragged herself from her room and after dressing in a nice yellow sundress, headed on down to the lake. Merlin it was bright out, Kam squinted a bit in the sun as she walked out onto the grass, her blue eyes looking around for anyone she knew. As soon as she spotted one of her best friends, she pasted a smile on her face and waved to Maeve, though seeing as her bestie was trying to throw balloons at someone, she held back and found herself next to Patrick. “Hey.” She said softly as she tucked some of her hair behind her ear. “I didn’t know you would be here.” of course it was meant for everyone! But she was glad that other houses were actually coming as well. |
SPOILER!!: sixth years!!! :O What Maeve hadn't expected was for two things actually to happen, which did. First, her balloon ACTUALLY collided with Eniola's backside, giving it a lovely red hue. And two, retaliation that was quick. But in all reality, Maeve hadn't expected the retaliation so quick because her light eyes had averted to the outskirts where a certain former Snake Captain and current Prefect was standing. Oh no he was NOT just going to stand there and not participate. Especially when one best friend and dormmate to Eni showed up. A quick wave and a ...... "EEEEEKKK!!!!!!!!!" Loud shriek from being startled. Wet thighs. Weren't they supposed to wet their shirts? But she supposed it made sense as she had turned and was a moving target. "It's on!" she turned back on Eni and threw another balloon at her. Underhand throw, obviously, cause it was easier. And just because - she turned momentarily back to face Patrick and Kam, underhand throwing a balloon at each of them too. Because sitting on the edge was lame! |
Eni laughed as the water balloon struck Maeve’s...legs? Oh well! Better than nothing! She thought as she threw another and had just enough time to dodge Maeve’s latest attempt. “HA! Better luck next time Walsh!” She yelled as she ran for another balloon. And for cover as she saw Maeve starting a full on war with two others. |
Kam Quote:
He watched as Kam came closer to him. “Hey, yeah figured I should get out. This boot has been such a hindrance lately.” He pointed down to the plastic thing on his healing foot. Only a few more weeks and he would be good as new. And he 100% couldn’t wait. |
Professor and a big smile for Patrick <3 Water? Not her thing. Food? Very much her thing. But who didn't like food? Socializing? Also her thing. Sometimes. Okay less than sometimes but she still needed to get out there and pretend to like people. It was good for her brand. Or whatever her mother always said. So here she was, smiling brightly despite not really wanting to be here, standing near Professor Noble, as he was, at the moment, the only one he really recognized. Sure, these were mostly Hufflepuffs and Hufflepuffs were sorta who she lived with but... still. "Hi Professor." She lingered still, eyes wandering over the activities. "Nice day out, isn't it?" People were getting splashed and wet and... this was supposed to be appealing? After a bit more gazing, a nice head of blond hair was spotted. She definitely remembered him. Staying where she was for the moment, she waited to catch his eye, and the moment that she did, a brilliant smile would be flashed his way. But for now, she was pretty sure she could use the professor as a water balloon deterrent. |
Open <3 As Sebastian walked up to the puff party, he grabbed a white t-shirt from the table, replacing his mint green one. It worked out just fine with the white and mint green stripped board shorts he was wearing. There were only a few days left for him to wear flip flops and he was not going to pass that up. Clad in heart-shaped, mirrored sunglasses, Sebastian called out to the group of students and his HoH, "Hey, everyone!!!" Noting quickly that there was already a balloon war happening, he made his way over to the giant blanket to not be hit by a stray balloon. At the moment all he felt like doing was eating and there was a whole smorgasbord of food on that blanket. He had noticed Kam already, but he wasn't sure if he should go over to her and Patrick or not. He didn't want to interrupt their conversation. So...here he stood. Staring at the food....trying to decide if he could eat everything laid out on the blanket or if he would explode before he did. |
Patrick, Bast, Maeve, Delilah Kam nimbly dodged the balloon that was headed her way, and she stuck her tongue out at Maeve, “Nice try!” She called out to her best friend and then looked up at Patrick. “Well I hope it will be off soon and then you can run around with the rest of us. ” She said with a smile up at him, before she looked around to see if anyone else had arrived. She noticed a girl shooting a big smile at Patrick and she nudged the Slytherin prefect. “Someone is smiling at you. ” She said softly, she was unsure who it was, if it was his girlfriend or someone he liked? She didn’t want to be in the way so she smiled softly. “I’ll see you later.” She said softly as she moved away from him and her feet made their way over to Bast. “You going to eat all of that? ” She asked her other best friend as she shot a glance back at Patrick before sighing and turning back to Bast. |
Open. *loves* Before everyone had started showing up, Aaron was messing around in the water... Swimming further out to make sure the drop site would be safe for any willing to give the slide a try. No one had, yet, buuuut. Who knew, right? After a few more moments, he nodded in approval and started backstroking his way towards the water line. Grabbing a towel, he draped it around his shoulders as he passed the massive picnic quilt. If the loud sounds coming from his midsection were any indication... Aaron was starving, but... it could wait. No, for now... he stationed himself beside the overflowing bucket of water balloons. Maybe he was planning to start throwing them at people... which was more likely than one would think. It was best to get them when they were unsuspecting, right? ... But NO. Right now, Aaron was just sitting. |
Open! ^-^ So she hadn't found anyone that seemed to want to test out the water slide as of yet. No big deal. There was lots of other things to do for the time being. Like food. Only... she wasn't exactly all that hungry. So no food right now. Food could wait. Still tossing the water balloon from one hand to the other, Rylee walked around looking for some of her friends. Or perhaps a target to toss the water balloon at. Either would do right now. Both would be equally as fun. Now the question was... who would she end up throwing the balloon at first? |
*snatches a Rylee* Quote:
Seeing Rylee she smiled happily and squealed in happiness, finally she found one of her friends! " Hiya Rylee, thank goodness I was beginning to wonder if anyone I knew was here!" she said sighing. Seeing a water balloon in her hands she smirked. "I'm game if you are. " she said grabbing a water balloon of her own. |
Dahlia, Kam brief mention Maeve Quote:
Quote:
Turning back toward Kam he furrowed his brows... Someone smiling at him leave? "Wait, where are you off to?" what in merlin was going on? he wasn't a popular one at all. Why was he suddenly gaining attention. Was it this new badge? Did people think he would be kinder with the badge? |
brief mention of patrick and working Aaron in too yes <3 Yeah, no. With so many water balloons being picked up and tossed about, there was no way that Delilah was going to move away from Casually observing the Slytherin prefect, Delilah noticed the brunette girl move away and Patrick just looking.... confused? She smiled. What was so confusing about that? And he hadn't approached her so.... clearly, she was wrong and he didn't even know she existed. Great. Cool. There were plenty of other boys. But that didn't stop her from glancing his way a few more times. Although.... in trying to be oh so casual she did spot a boy, her prefect, who... was in incredibly dangerous territory. Did he know? She took a few hesitant steps away from the professor toward him. "Aaron?" she called, still a good distance away. "Aaron!" a little more urgent the second time around. He must not know. |

Rylee laughed. "Oh, I'm definitely game but I won't be making it easy on you," she warned her fellow lioness. That was all she said before she took off running away from her friend, her own water balloon still held in her hands. They would just have to be careful not to run into anyone while they tried to toss balloons at each other. And who knew, maybe some more of their friends would spot them and join in. |
open <3 Hogwarts had to be the coolest school ever. Cassidy skipped, yes SKIPPED, down to the lake. She let out a little squeal as she took in everything there was, oblivious to all the people that were around her. She started getting more and more excited as she took things in. Water balloons and a giant slide and just, it was too much for the little first year to take in. She was literally bouncing with joy and excitement. But she was supposed to wait for Rhett. But how could she wait for him when there was so much fun stuff just sitting there waiting for her. She bit her lip, completely conflicted on what to do. Should she wait or just make a beeline for that super awesome looking slide? |
