Looking for a grand way to spend an afternoon? How's about grabbing a friend and getting lost in the maize maze? The corn is of course put to good use by the elves when they come into season so you are being asked not to damage them but do feel free to run about in the passages trying to find your way to the other side. There's little worry you'll be bored after you've mastered the maze as the paths change every day, making for a new entrance and exit every time.
It's not likely the Groundskeeper will patrol this maze night and day so it is also expected that you behave appropriately. Trust is a dangerous thing to betray and in any case adventuring through a maze beats snogging any day.

"Maybe I am but that doesn't mean I'm wrong." He smiled a little. Sure, she was right that he was a bit biased, but that didn't necessarily cloud his judgement about the truth of the matter. He saw things, and he hadn't seen anyone not respecting Vita. And if he did... he'd fight them. "I don't think how long you've been here has anything to do with it. Clearly someone thought you were the best person for the job and I, for one, support their judgement." He gave her a little shoulder bump and a smile, and then groaned when she mentioned Arithmancy. "I was hoping you'd be able to help me with Arithmancy. I just can't wrap my head around that stuff."
She couldn't help but smile and bump his shoulder back gently in response. "You're kind of excellent at this whole friend thing, did you know?" She was forever impressed by his ability to talk her down, not an easy feat. Speaking of feats that were not easy..."Sorry to disappoint. Maybe we can just try and sort through it together, then? I know I won't need it in the future or anything, but I at least want to pass. I have to."
Anna scoffed. “That’s not how that works.” There were plenty of people who were older than her and not smarter. She was eleven years old, not four. And she read books. A lot.
She considered his logic again for a moment, quiet. And... okay, she really didn’t have enough of an argument to say otherwise. So he just kept following him. She was quiet for a moment, too, just letting him figure out how to get them out of their maze. That didn’t last very long, though. “So, hey, what’s your name?” As long as they were in this together, she may as well stop internally referring to him as the boy.
"It is." Jó wasn't exactly sure that he was right, but once again he was never planning on admitting that he was wrong. "I've been here longer and I've learnt more than you and I'm just smarter." And that was the end of the issue.
Right, right, right... And he... they were at a dead end. Huffing, and rolling his eyes, Józef turned around and took the left turn when it came, instead of the right. And... She was talking again. "Oh, what?"
She'd said something. Oh, yeah! "I'm Józef. Gryffindor, third year, chaser." All of the important facts.

Despite the cold, she had decided that NOW was the perfect time to take a closer look at the maďze maze outside. Which had sounded like a wonderful idea about one and a half hours ago. Now, though, Anahera Webb was 100% lost inside the maze, and was pretty sure she was going to have to spend the night in here. And she had NOT brought a blanket.
In retrospect, maybe she should have asked one her friends to at least come along.
She couldn't even tell if anyone else was currently inside the maze but so far she hadn't run into anyone. And she was pretty sure she'd already circled the ENTIRE maze at least three hundred times. And yet she had so far been utterly unable to find neither the way she'd come in, nor the exit that was SUPPOSED to be around here somewhere.

"Hello?" Maybe someone would be able to hear her.
There was absolutely nothing appealing about a maze. Well, there wasn't. Not until today. Because today she wanted to get lost, to get away from the castle. There were plenty of people she needed to avoid and surely those people would be avoiding the maze. And therefore, Nina would not be avoiding the maze.
Though the good idea was only good for the first five minutes. Because after then, Nina was absolutely positive that she had seen that particular stalk before. Ultimately, Nina Castillo had decided that she hated being lost, that this was a foolish idea, and that she wanted to go back to her room!!!! So with a very well defined frown on her face, Nina continued to circle around this death trap.
When she heard a voice. She couldn't SEE who it belonged to, as there was a wall of maize blocking the way... But. "... Hello?" she tried in reply. Maybe the other person knew the way out!
Hopefully it was a cute boy.

Once again Cel was out on her usual run, although there wasn't much usual about it other than that she usually went running at some point during the day. Where she went or how long she went out depended on what distracted her first. Sometimes it was a tree to climb or an older kid to laugh at for being booooooooring. Today it was a maze. Maybe she could have a laff at the poor unfortunate soul stuck in the maze or perhaps she'd end up getting lost and oh no, run out of time to do her homework. A clear win.
So off she went, casually jogging into the maze. A left there and a few rights and another left and......... mazes really weren't all that great were they? Just all the same, like. But she was here now, so she'd best stick around to see what she could find. It wasn't long until she did find something. Or hear something, at least. Someone was looooost.
Perfect. Céline came to a halt, trying to figure out if she knew whoever it was that sounded lost and how best to spook them.

OMG IT HAD WORKED????
"HELLO!" Anahera called back again, sounding a little amused now. "Where are you?" The who didn't seem all that pertinent to her in that very moment. She took another couple of steps into a random direction, hoping for a turn that would lead her to whoever that voice belonged to. Hopefully they'd know the way out.
Or were at least good company on the way out of this maze.
The way out she was never going to find on her own. Ever. Literally. Proven by the fact that she was now standing in front of another wall of maize. Well, this had definitely been the wrong direction then. "This is a dead end." Anahera called out to The Voice and turned on her heels to walk back the way she'd come from.

That was not a cute boy's voice. It wasn't a boy's voice at all. It belonged to a girl. Nina was very disappointed.
She was even MORE disappointed when the unidentifiable voice had asked her where she was??? If Nina KNEW where she was then she wouldn't be lost in this maze. It was a useless question, which she didn't feel like answering in full as it would be a complete waste of an explanation. "I'm over here," was her chosen answer. Lazy, but accurate. They were in a maze, not a noise vortex. The girl should have been able to pick up on which direction the voice came from.
Clearly she was no Ravenclaw.
Instead of wandering around aimlessly, she'd let the girl with the voice find HER. Because there was really no use in getting even MORE lost. She was quite happy staying put and letting another come to her rescue. Hmph.
