| | Fat Lady's Portrait If you're wandering around the seventh-floor corridor and you suddenly have the urge to cover your ears, you know you're steadily approaching the Fat Lady's portrait. While it isn't an uncommon fact that the vocal portrait guards the entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room, getting past the Fat Lady without the correct password is no easy feat. Her passion for tip-top security is just as great as her love for good food and drink.
Though the Fat Lady is very particular about who she allows to pass through the portrait hole, she really doesn't mind anyone hanging around in the corridor. At every opportune moment, she will insist that you stop to listen to her "amazing" singing voice or engage in very loud conversation about the latest gossip. Even the Gryffindors themselves have to put up with the antics of this loud and flamboyant woman -- sometimes she won't even let them inside their common room until she is satisfied with their response to her singing or finds the gossip juicy enough to go share with her friend Violet. OOC: Please do not role-play for the Fat Lady.

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Now that he was all settled in and tryouts were over with, Colin decided one evening to take a trip down memory lane. It had been quite a trek walking up all those flights of stairs, and the man couldn't help put wonder how he managed to do that on a daily basis all those years ago. Merlin, when did he get so old?
Though he was just ever-so-slightly out of breath, he was pleased that he remembered exactly where everything was on the seventh floor. All those nooks and crannies were still present after all these years. Even the noises that could be heard were all the same.
Speaking of noises, was that ... the Fat Lady? Colin could have sworn he had just heard a loud voice echoing down the corridor. Even though he couldn't stand the portrait's singing, he did have a bit of a soft spot for her. Or, rather, it was likely the other way around. He still remembered those late nights of sweet-talking her to let him inside the common room.
"My, my, my," he said smoothly, stepping in front of the frame. "After all these years, they still have you stationed here, my dear lady?"

| Tell Them I'm Trapped in an Oil Painting "Stationed?" the woman in pink's voice was a trilling song. "My dear man, this is a volunteer position, and I always get my way. As well you know." He could move her anywhere else in the castle, couldn't he? And yet he let her stay HERE.
"Now, my dear, are you having your nightly constitutional?" |

| a dramatic Graínne for Griffin HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED W H Y WHY why? Why was it so hard for her to remember the godawful password? Why hadn’t she used those noomy-thingingies that Aine had suggested? ”Smaoineamh Graínne – you’ve got to think” Graínne grumbled as she passed in front of the portrait…someone had to come outside eventually right? Or maybe MAYBE they would come from the corridors and help her?
YES…help her please please help her.
If she didn’t get inside she would probably freeze or OR maybe the windows would never be closed and and…everyone would disappear into the mist.
Nope - nooooooooooo she had to do something to help them right? Or just sleep – she needed sleep.

Nope - nooooooooooo she had to do something to help them right? Or just sleep – she needed sleep. Cordelia was slowly being driven absolutely insane by all this weird mist stuff that was keeping her trapped inside. Mostly she missed being able to play quidditch, but she had an uneasy, boggart-under-the-bed feeling about this mist. It was just calling out to her as though it was an evil force trying to drain her happiness. That was probably just because it had taken away her freedom to do the things she enjoyed outside, and most of her favorite activities were outside. Cordelia had taken to mattress surfing from her dorm down into the common room to pass the time but that could only entertain her for so long. It was the desire to find something fun to do other than mattress surfing that eventually drew Cordelia out of the common room and into the corridor outside. Cordelia spotted the younger girl - whose name escaped her at the moment - outside looking quite distressed. ”What’s wrong? Forgot the password?” This wasn’t exactly the entertainment she had been hoping for, but at least it was a distraction from the mist.

| sorry it took a . while HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Graínne’s little fast broke into a smile as soon a she saw Cordelia’s red hair. Oh, thank Balor someone had come to her rescue! She was saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaved.
Bouncing on the balls of her small feet the short brunette only beamed at the second year. ”Yes, yes I did…it was disappeared out of my head like…like it had decided to go for a walk and leave me alone.” She sighed, and grinned up at her. ”can you help? I mean…I’ll lend you some muggl-y things if you want? As a thanks? Maybe a book on Irish fairytales?” because that was the majority of what she and Aoife chose to read. Irish fairy tales.

Cordelia giggled as the firstie described the password walking out of her head. ”Happens to the best of us.” Even the starting seeker for the Gryffindor quidditch team was not immune to forgetting the password occasionally. Muggl-y things? Interesting. ”Of course I can help.” Cordelia smiled at the younger girl. While she would have helped without any offer of rewards, she couldn’t turn down the offer. ”Are your parents muggles? Mine, well, my biological parents are too. Not that I ever properly knew them. I’ve lived with lots of muggles before.” Bonding over a sort of common background? Were her biological parents even still alive? Probably, as far as she knew, but she had no way of knowing for sure and no particular interest in ever seeing them again. She had really never known her birth father since he divorced her birth mother and left while she was still a baby, and the last time she saw her birth mother when she was taken into foster care was before she was old enough to form proper memories. Oooh that turned into a downward spiral pretty quickly. Cordelia had lived at Stemp House for almost as long as she could remember, almost six years. As for muggl-y things, most of the ones she owned were the medical devices keeping her alive.
