If you want to be the last to leave or want to hang with the more rowdy crowd, then the back passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.
Austin didn't turn around this time. He was trying to help her wake up. But nobdoy was directly talking to him so he was not going to acknowledge them.
He gave a slight tug when she took his hand and pulled her to her feet. Then immediately let go. "Did you break anything?" he asked watching her wiggle her arm and shoulder. He hoped she didn't, cause he didn't know any healing spells beyond ones to fix a few scrapes and bruises. "Samiul," he replied, itentifying himself.
He moved his bag over more and settled in the spot next to the window. Spotting a book on the floor, he leaned forward and picked it up, and caught a quick look at the cover. He handed it over as she explained the rat quesiton. "No, I don't mind them. They're actually quiet clean animals. The black plague gave them a bad rep." Samiul liked most animals. Except for jellyfish. Jellyfish were weird, pointless animals. He motioned to the book in her hand. "Interesting reading for a third year.".
Ellie relaxed back against her seat once she had established that she hadn’t broken any bones. Knowing her clumsiness though she knew that one injury could be followed by another if she wasn’t careful. Shaking her head she responded. "No, it looks like I didn’t break anything thankfully, but i bet i have some nice bruises to show for the fall." Nothing she couldn’t heal at school though.
"It’s nice to meet you Samiul," Ellie said as the boy introduced himself, but still didn’t apologize her. "Are you from Russia by any chance?" She wondered since she had detected an accent that wasn’t brittish and she had learned to detect those after a year at Durmstrang.
Samiul got a slight boost in her eyes that almost made up for the non-apology when he assured her that he didn’t mind rats and that he saw them as clean and quiet animals. Coaxing Simon out of her backpack she placed him on her lap and showed him to Samiul. "This is my rat Simon. I bought him in Diagon Alley this summer. Do you have a pet with you too?"
Accepting her book from Samiul she shoved it down into the bottom of her backpack before responding to his question a little sourly. "Well I’m a transfer so i wanted to read up on the school’s story." To not make a fool out of myself in front of those who had gone to Hogwarts for years already.
Maybe Eloise was more out of it than she thought because she could have sworn Patrick was not in here and welp ok he was but he was leaving and well it worked out. Ha like she would listen to him on how long too sleep. the one that was short or shorter than her was still not saying anything. Was he mute or something?
Anyway time to focus on Jo.
"Aww, you are sweet for worrying about that. Have you finally got a girlfriend or are you still kissing anything with a pulse?"
But she doesn't snoremuch and while most of what she just said was lies. It felt like it was right to say. ok, that was a little weird. Was he really offering her water and not say anything. Kind of defeats the purpose when her eyes are closed. Still watching Jo as he sits next to her.
"Has he said anything yet?"
Dehydration and all forgotten since maybe he is mute
Interesting

"I can take care of those bruises for you later," he said pulling his wand out of his pocket. It was probably the closest thing to an apology she was going to get from Sammy. He stuck his maple wand into a pocket in his shoulder bag, leaving the handle sticking out for easy access. The green stone twinkled slightly in the light of the window.
"I lived there for the past few years," Sammy responded to her question about his accent. "Dad worked on the dragon reserve. I have family from there too, although most of them no longer live there." He watched her pluck the rat out of her bag. It was a rather cute rat, he wished he had a snack to give it, but he hadn't thought that far ahead, upset as he had been about having to start at a new school. "I have a jarvey...named ah...Jarvey." But as he wasn't allowed to bring him to school, he had had to leave him at home with his dad. As for the name, he had named it when he was little, so give him a break.
So she was reading up on the school. Smart. Really smart. Too bad he hadn't thought of it. "Anything interesting I should know about?" he asked, assuming she had caught on that he too was a transfer.

The latter was one she'd accompanied for many a train rides, but no such luck in finding him thus far.
Instead, she found Kamryn. Alone. Eyes closed.
Sliding the compartment open and closed, the blond didn't even bother to ask permission because it wasn't needed in this situation.
This situation called for Maeve to sit down. Right next to Kamryn, despite there being a whole other bench.
Talking loudly in her ear; "YO. Wake up. You cannoooottt spend the whole train ride to our sixth year sleeping!!!" And hopefully that would be enough to wake her friend up, or else she'd have to try the kiss method which she wasn't really opposed to but they did both have boyfriends who might be.

Did Kamryn hear the door open: yes, yes she did. Was she going to open her eyes?
Maybe.
It depended whose voice it was that spoke to her. She wasn’t feeling super talkative at the moment and still wallowing about her family, so she might pretend to keep sleeping if it was someone she didn’t feel like talking to. The obvious exceptions were Trigger, Bast, Maeve, Chase, Anahera and Ethan.
She felt whoever it was sit down next to her and then!
“Ackkkk! Maeve!” Kamryn started as she opened her eyes and looked at her best friend.
“I’m awake! And I think I’m deaf.” She said as she rubbed her ear and then grinned as she saw Chase come in.
“I was pretending to sleep actually. ” She said with a grin up at the Gryffindor Boy.
“Luckily I like you two enough to wake up. ” She said with a soft laugh.

Maeve was may have been about to jump to alternative measures in waking the best friend up, when she felt hands covering her eyes. Hands that she would recognize anywhere, even if he hadn't spoke. Prying his hands away, she wriggled around to grin at him. "AND??? We're barely halfway there! How could she possibly be sleeping on the train!? We're sixth years!" How was this even possible??? "And where have you been hiding, Mr Spenley?"
Hehe. Oh.
Looking back over at the hufflepuff honarary lioness, Maeve grinned. "Was it to avoid annoying first years coming to sit here with us? Cause you wanted to make sure there would be a compartment for us to join?" She didn't blame Kamryn if that was the case. That was totally a prefect job to have to deal with the little runts.

Stunned Ellie just stared at Samiul’s wand for a good minute before she bit her lip as she answered with slightly rosy cheeks "I um thank you, but I can take care of the bruises myself when we’ve gotten to school and can use magic." Or she could ask a prefect to do it or another girl. Ellie wasn’t sure where she had bruises and if they we’re placed somewhere akward then she definitley didn’t want a boy looking at them. Icky!
Eyes drawn to the green stone on Samuil’s wand she asked curiously. "How come you have a stone on your wand?" It was definitley not standard that was for sure since her wand didn’t have a stone in the handle. Hearing about Russia and the dragon reserve she got quiet for a moment and sorrow flashed over her face before it was gone just as quickly. ”So you’ve gone to Durmstrang for the last couple of years then? Weird that I don’t remember you from there. I went there for my first year." Ellie carefully avoided saying anything about the dragon reserve. It just hurt way too much to think about her mother.
"Jarvey’s are cool!" Ellie said with a kind smile. "I read somewhere that you can keep pet’s that aren’t allowed in the house dorms in the CoMC’s creature pens if you talk to the professor. I don’t know if it’s still that way though." Her Hogwart’s a history edition wasn’t from this year so she didn’t know for certain and didn’t want to give Samuil false hope.
Flashing a glance at her backpack trying to recall what she had just read she said "Did you know that each Hogwart’s house has it’s own ghost that attends the feasts with student’s of their house? Like Bloody Baron with Slytherins, Grey Lady with the Ravenclaws, the Friar with the Hufflepuff’s and Nearly Headless Nick with the Gryffindors." It’d be fascinating and creepy to meet an actual ghost.
Nettie heard someone call her name and sat up, grinning when she saw it was Lenora. "Hey Lenora! Come, sit," she said with a smile. She scooted to make a bit of room for the Gryffindor girl.
"Ready for school?" she asked with a smile.
”Okay!” Lenora entered the compartment with a grin, glad to see her.. friend? Were they friends now? She wasn’t exactly sure yet. She took a seat next to the other girl, eyeing her curiously. “You looked.. sad. Are you alright?” Was she still pining for that Eiji person? STILL?
Interesting question. She gave a light shrug of the shoulders, another bright grin on her face. ”I guess so?” It’s not like they had a choice, did they? She definitely wasn’t ready for the ‘studying’ part of school.

Why was she looking at him like that? Did he have a booger in his nose? Something on his face? It never occurred to him that she might be weirded out by his offer to help. But thankfully the subject changed with her rejection of his offer. It was fine with him. He probably wouldn’t have done a very good job anyways. Although, he wasn’t about to announce it.
”Um,” he reached out fiddling with the green tourmaline stone. ”I think Dedushka, ah…Grandpa,” the word felt funny on this tongue. ”Said it would help channel protection and defensive spells?” But as Samuil hadn’t learned much in the way of protection and defensive spells, he wasn’t sure if that was really the case. ”He was quite surprised that this wand chose me,” he added. ”Because he had made it with someone else in mind.” Yes, his grandfather was a wand maker. One of the best in Northern Europe if you asked Samuil’s opinion. He sensed she was sad about something and so asked, ”What does yours look like?” hoping the question might perk her up. Sad girls usually led to tears and awkwardness. He really didn't want to deal with that on his first day at Hogwarts.
Everyone always thought of Durmstrang when they heard Russia. But nope, that’s not where Samuil had gone. “Koldovstoretz,” he answered with a shake of his head and which would explain why they hadn’t met each other until now. ”I heard Durmstrang has a nice swimming lake.”
He hadn’t known about keeping pets with the Care of Magical Creatures professor. While it would be nice to see Jarvey from time to time, he wasn’t certain if he’d be happy staying in a pen all day. It was probably best to leave him home with his father. The girl, Eleanor, however had moved on from animals to ghosts. Ghosts were interesting to talk to, or so he heard. ”I didn’t know that. Are those the only ghosts in the school?”

Austin didn't say anything. Again, they weren't talking directly to him.
Is he ssying anything?
Oh. What do you think? Austin mentally shrugged and took out a few snacks out of his bag. Snacks from home. A package of hunky dory's, a bottle of club orange, and a package of Jam Mallows. He set them asside and took one of the mallows. He opened it and sat back.

Chase smiled at Kam when she mentioned that she was pretending to be asleep. “Convenient. Could have fooled me,” he teased with a smirk resting on his lips until he felt Maeve pry at his hands. Heh. He had figured that she’d wiggle her way out of his hands pretty soon enough. He chuckled at Maeve’s reaction. “Some people need their rest. What. Don’t tell me that you’re going to be bouncing off these walls like a sugar crazed first year, are you?” he teased, remembering how a bunch of them had acted on their first train ride. Some had been mournful, some had been excited, and then there had been some that we’re just overwhelmed by the whole experience that they were numb.
Chase was one for drama so he decided to play up his answer a little bit for fun, of course. “Causing a little trouble here and there...” he admitted before reclining in his chair more. He paused, turning his gaze out the window, before turning them back to the girls in front of him. Sixth year. Merlin.... Time was passing by very quickly. He shrugged his shoulders. “I was relaxing up front until I realized that none of my mates were nearby. It’s where Lucas and I used to sit on the train,” he explained with a small smile. He missed his best mate. The Slytherin and him had been close like brothers ever since Lucas helped stand up for Chase back in his third year.
“I’m touched that you like us so much,” he smiled at Kam, feeling honoured that she’d wake up for them. “Avoiding first years? Who knows you two could adopt a little mentee or a Beth...” He paused once more thinking of the determined Snake that he had become friends— no- strong acquaintances with. Gumball Girl. He wouldn’t dare tell her this but he kind of missed her presence.

“Nah, it was trying to avoid people and them asking about my summer ” She said honestly as she looked at Maeve and Chase. She really wanted to avoid questions about the last two months, and so sleeping seemed to be a good way to do that.
She wasn’t sure what she was going to do at the feast though, probably shove as much food into her mouth as possible. That should probably work.
“But avoiding first years sounds like a good idea as well.” She said with a bit of a smirk as Maeve mentioned that they were 6th years. It was hard to believe, just yesterday it seemed like they were second years and now.. now they were all grown up. Where had the time gone?
“Of course I like you guys.. I mean you were my first kiss and my crush. ” She said as she gestured to the two of them.“You both have a very special place in my heart.”
Even though she had been a bit hurt when they had started dating, she had dealt with it herself and not told anyone. She chalked it up to her luck really..
Why was she looking at him like that? Did he have a booger in his nose? Something on his face? It never occurred to him that she might be weirded out by his offer to help. Ellie had definitley been weirded out by his offer and it looked like Samuil hadn’t picked up on her akward moment signals. Did that say something about her or him? Regardless she wasn’t going to let a boy she had just met on the train try healing potential bruises on her body. Just no!
She craned her neck and leant forward eagerly in her seat dangerously close to falling off her seat again as she examined Samuil’s wand closer. "Pretty," she murmured as she eyed the green tourmaline stone. "I hope it helps you cast stronger spells in our coming lessons. Does it have a special core too?" Maybe it would or wouldn’t? She was none the wiser. Ellie’s eyes wen’t big and wide at Samuil’s next reveal and she had to ask to to believe in what she had pieced together from his words. "So your grandfather is a famous wandmaker like Mr Ollivander was?"
Pulling her own wand out of her jeans jacket pocket Ellie held it out to Samuil. "My wand is 11 inches made of ash and unicorn hair. I bought it at Ollivanders." Furrowing her brows in slight confusion she said "I didn’t know there was a school called Koldovstoretz in Europe. Is that just for russian children to go to?" If it was then she was glad oh merlin help her if it was open to international kids too. Ellie did really not want to go a fourth school.
Shaking her head she said "No, there are more ghosts like Peeves the Poltergeist too and maybe even a ghost professor." Or so she had heard mentions of on the platform who had taught charms last term.

Because it was fine,.
This was fine. It was her life motto.
Maeve faked gasped at that suggestion, but honestly, she was bored and restless. She felt like the last three months she'd done nothing BUT resting, given the change in summer plans. Other than going to London for her supplies, most of her summer she'd spent at the cottage, laying on the beach. Which don't get her wrong was perfect, but it was also boring to some extent. "I've been resting. Besides, if we're sleeping, how are we meant to be ... plotting." Maeve may - read: she did - have a certain devilish look in her eyes. One she hadn't had for a while, probably due to certain exam stress last term getting in her way.
She shook her head at him, grinning at his response. "I guess we probably should have gone up front then." Oops?
Adopt a mentee? "Beth is a fourth year though. She's only two years younger so I'm pretty sure that's different from a first year. They're all sticky handed and gross and pick their noses." Actually she had no idea if the latter was true or not, but it seemed like it might be.
She turned over to Kam and grinned at her revelation but then felt guilty immediately after. Honestly, she hadn't meant to fall for Kam's crush butttt then again, she and Chase started dating after Kam was already dating Trigger, so there was that. "I don't regret it either." Kissing her first that was; cause there was nothing like best friend to be your first kiss.

He wasn’t sure if his grandfather was famous. But he did make wands. ”He’s a wandmaker…” Sammy leaned back as she leaned forward. Why she was so interested in his wand, he wasn’t sure. But rather than risk her falling off the seat again, he pulled the wand out and offered it over to her. Were stones really that unusual in wands in England? He wondered. He’d seen gems and crystals and other semi-precious stones in other people’s wands. And that was just at school. He’s seen other things in his grandfather’s shop. ”Ah, it’s a jobberknoll feather. Ash wands are pretty loyal.“ And usually their owners were pretty stubborn. Or so his grandfather always said. He wondered if Elanor was stubborn. So far, their interactions didn’t really tell if she was. ”They’re supposed to be good for fire and lightening spells.”
”It’s a school for Russian students. It doesn’t really take non-Russians.” Well, it did, but the application process was very very difficult. And, it was underwater. He wasn’t sure how much he could say about the school though. He didn’t want to end up losing his hair or something as a result of saying too much. ”I think you have to be born in Russia to get accepted.”
Sammy wasn’t really sure what to say about a poltergeist or a ghost professor. Both sounded – weird. Did they have a hard time finding a living person to teach a class? And if so, it didn’t seem like a good sign to Sammy.

Chase shook his head, leaning towards her to boop her nose. “Plotting? Maeve... Maeve... what are you planning this time?” She was definitely up to some sort of mischief. “I want in.”
He chuckled at Maeve’s comment about first years and the difference between them and Beth. “Age wise yes... Maturity wise... debatable.” Speaking of girls that had crushes on him, he had the biggest hunch that the She-Snake has liked him but he also didn’t want to lead her on so he had to be a little removed. However Beth just always brought out his unnecessarily sassy side like that Headmaster that they had with the awful exercises in the morning. Heh. Chase was still proud that he had related his personality to a venomous plant.
Kam’s comment about not wishing people to ask her about her summer made Chase pause. Well that sounded... bad. He wondered what had caused her to feel that way. And then her next comment made him feel awkward. Yeah... He had guessed that she may have had feelings for him which was part of the reason why he had kept away from Maeve for a year. In the end, he... he hadn’t been strong enough to stay away. He knew that he had hurt Kam for falling for Maeve. He bit his lip and glanced at his hands momentarily. “Everything ok, Kam?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.

Interesting question. She gave a light shrug of the shoulders, another bright grin on her face. ”I guess so?” It’s not like they had a choice, did they? She definitely wasn’t ready for the ‘studying’ part of school.
“What about you?”
No, for once, she wasn't having boy problems. Well, not her USUAL boy problems at least. She chuckled a little and shook her head. "I'm ok. I just...well, my parents got divorced this summer," she explained with a small sigh. "Not all that surprising, when I look back on it. So I guess I'm just kind of...hoping this term will be a lot better than last term!" she explained with an optimistic smile.
Like, things literally couldn't get ANY worse, right?
"That doesn't sound too convincing," she laughed at Lenora's answer. "But I know what you mean. No studying and no homework is always nice."
