It’s the second weekend of school, nearing close to curfew and Kalen is down in the common room in his green and silver flannel pajamas, which he got for the occasion of course, he had matching green and silver slippers on his feet and he hurried around the common room getting things ready.

Food had been set out, but not normal late night food. No no, a table in the corner had been set up and was now piled with breakfast foods! Mounds of eggs and bacon, potatoes, toast, pancakes, waffles, whatever your little heart desired for breakfast was set out!

Kalen looked around and nodded his head, the set up looked good and if not, the student leaders could move things around if they wanted.

So everyone come on in, with your pajamas on and come party with us!

Social gatherings reaaaaaaally weren't his cup of tea. Not at all. All he wanted to do right now was stay snuggled up in his bed, do a bit of comic book catch up and have a good snooze. Instead, he found himself making his way into the Common Room, tugging awkwardly at his pizza print pajama set as he went.

The only reason he was here was because of the promise of food. And because he had a feeling Natalie would give him grief if he didn't show his face. Oh, and because he actually thought Professor Kennedy was cool and supposed he should make somewhat of an effort to get involved.

Speaking of, there he was. Max made a beeline for the older man... and for the food, obviously. "Evening, Professor. Nice one, this smells awesome." It really did.

Maybe he'd be able to sneak a bacon butty back to his dorm.

It was her FIRST event as a prefect and Natalie was QUITE excited. Also, she was quite nervous even though it was a very low-key and casual event. But sometimes people wanted to just go to bed and not come down and be social (because she was one of those people sometimes) and she was nervous that not many people would come.

Coming down the stairs in her matching giraffe pajama set, Natalie spotted Max right away and headed towards him, noticing that no one else had come yet, besides professor Kennedy.

"Smells good," she said with a nervous smile, settling besides Max. Was she supposed to do anything else? Did they need music? Where was everyone???

Igor came into the common room with his pokemon pajamas from home on. He never had a pajama party at home or even knew what to do at one. But it sounded like fun. So that's basically the reason he was here.

Yikes, it was only Professor Kennedy and the Prefects

"Hello Professor and Hi um Prefect Max and Prefect Natalie"

WHOA, LOOK AT ALL THAT BREAKFAST FOOD

School had been in session for about two weeks now, and Torii still hadn't managed to find her place just yet. Deep down inside, she knew it was just her. She knew she had to get over the bitterness about the whole move and try to find the good in it. She knew it had to happen soon, but she wasn't ready to move past that right now. She didn't know what to do with her emotions, so it was off to another big Hogwarts event she went. This was her effort to try and accept Hogwarts and meet new people.

Wearing her very best pajamas (a mint green ensemble with fuzzy slippers), the fourth year joined her fellow Snakes in the common room. Her Head of House was there, and Torii remembered that she hadn't really introduced herself yet. She was sure he knew who she was from classes, but she hadn't had a one-on-one meet and greet with him yet. She'd do that later when the newness of this event wasn't so...well, new.

Erm... "Hey, everybody," she said. Had they noticed the nervousness in her voice?

Pajama party. Zachary honestly wasn't sure what to make of it, but he was there nonetheless. Also, why was everyone so nervous?

Greeting the professor, Max and ignoring Natalie yet again - the sixteen year old made his way over to Igor. "Is there a purpose for this ...party?" he asked the boy.

Bettie think yeah pajama party as she walked from the girls dorm to the common room in her new Pokemon onesie and Pokemon slippers. "Hi everyone".Bettie said with a wave and commented to Igor, "Nice pajamas".

Kalen was glad he didn’t have to wait to long for the first person to show up, and he grinned as he saw that it was one of his prefects. Good good!

“Hello Max” He said with a warm smile down at the seventh year. “The house elves have out done themselves haven’t they? I think we have enough food to feed an army. ” He said with a grin as he nodded. He was pleased with the spread they had.

He grinned at Natalie as she came done next and commented on the food. “Please help yourself, we have plenty. ” He said with a nod.

Ahh next came Igor “Hello there, Igor, please have some food and settle in. ” Cause he couldn’t eat all of it and hopefully if people started eating there would be less nerves.

Torii had entered the room and Kalen gave her a wave and a smile, “Hello Torii, please come in and have some food. ” Because food made everything better, well actually tea made everything better. But food was on the list.

He waved at Zachary and could have given him a reason for the party, to have fun and celebrate the new year with some house bonding, but he was going to wait and see what Igor said and not Interupt their conversation.

He waved at Bettie as she came in and greeted everyone. “Hello, and welcome! Have some food. ”

Patrick walked down from his dormitory wearing the green and silver striped pajama pants his mama had bought him for Christmas. He also wore a matching green shirt. They were some of the most comfortable pajama pants he owned. But footwear was not a thing for him. Usually when he was in the common room he left his feet in socks unless he was headed off to class.

Glancing around he smiled at the turnout for just beginning. He was certain the year would be a good one. "Hey Professor Kennedy. Hi Max, Natalie" he nodded to the prefects and their head of house. He noticed that Torii was standing off to the side, he scooted over toward her, "How's your first few weeks been Torii?"

Igor was still looking at the food when uh someone (Zach) was talking to him. Was he sure he was talking to the right person. But he couldn't just not say anything that was rude. "So far i think just the free food". He couldn't think of any other reason. Since that is what Professor Kennedy just said to him.

AH!

Look at that he wasn't the only one with pokemon pjs. tho Bettie had a much better outfit that he did pajama wise.

"That onesie is cool and nice slippers"

Guess he should go get some food now because Kennedy said he could and really he had nothing better to do besides stand around

"Nice pajamas," Max said in amusement, eyeing the giraffes on Natalie's PJ set. He certainly wasn't one to judge... y'know, seeing as his own were covered in cartoon pizza slices, but oh well. "And what's his problem?" He asked, leaning in closer, lowering his voice and nodding in the direction of Zach.

He hadn't failed to notice that while he had received a greeting from the other boy, Natalie had just been outright blanked. Yikes.

"Hey Patrick. How's it going? And you're Torii, right?" He gave the new girl a nod hello. That's what Patrick had called her, so he assumed that was her name. Oh, and check that out. Igor and Bettie had rocked up in matching jammies. Had they planned that?

Done with all the formalities, Max spun around and helped himself to some a bunch of sausages and a bread roll. He was preparing himself what was soon to become an epic breakfast sandwich.

Igor was the first one in and she was glad to see him. He didn't seem very nervous and sometimes first years were the nervous, awkward ones. But this time, SHE was the nervous, awkward one. She bounced on her toes a little bit, fingers clasped in front of her. "You can just call me Natalie, if you want," she said to Igor. No need for formalities. It was cute, though.

The next to enter was Torii, who Natalie had said hello to at the feast. She did look nervous, but Natalie assumed it was because she was a new student and wanted to make a good first impression. "Hi Torii," Natalie offered with a smile and a bit of a wave, hoping that she could make her feel welcome.

Then came in Zach and Natalie had to make a quick decision on how to greet him. She maybe hadn't given him the best greeting when she saw him at the feast (but at least she said hello). So, when he came closer, she watched him, offered a smile and was about to say hello, when... he ignored her. Blatantly. Straight up blocked.

Her stomach sank. Her smile dropped. And then her blood boiled. And she had to try very hard not to go over and kick him in the shins. To make matters worse, Max seemed to have notice the whole thing and suddenly Natalie felt her tear ducts sting because - well, did you know? Natalie hated rejection. No matter who it came from.

Lifting her chin and sniffing in a bit of air, Natalie turned her head away from Zach and replied to Max, "You'll have to ask him."

Since she got a greeting from Patrick, Natalie shot him a quick smile and then stepped towards the food table to grab a plate because food made everything better and she would rather stuff her face than suffer through small talk.

"Everyone, dig in!" she said loudly to everyone as she dished up food onto her plate (she didn't want to be the only one eating here).

Patrick smiled at Max, he was a nice guy and he liked his humor. "Classes man they're rough this term. But glad we could have some breakfast before getting to some studying tomorrow." He turned in time to hear Natalie yell about eating. He wanted to turn and run so hard for the bacon.

mmmm bacon. He needed to eat something he had come from running some laps around the grounds and had worked up quite the appetite. He kept eyeing the bacon, but he didn't want to leave torii. He had just walked up to her...

but bacon.

Finally deciding that bacon was worth it he snuck of to grab a big ol plate of bacon the nectar of post run food cravings.

Oh......?

Hands full of sausages, Max looked from Natalie to Zachary ..... and then back to Natalie. And then he just shrugged his shoulders. "Nah, I'm alright." Because he wasn't bothered enough by whatever the drama was to have to ask. Drama wasn't his idea of fun.

Instead, he grabbed a plate and started neatly placing down the first layer of his monster sandwich.

"It's your fifth year, right?" He asked Patrick without even turning, too busy sammich assembling. "OWL year is rough. Good luck." He was gonna need it.

Not as much as Max was gonna need it though... because you know, NEWTs.

Something he definitely didn't wanna think about.

Leaving her dorm room in her pajamas wasn't her idea of a good time, but Vita didn't want to miss one of Natalie's events, so there she was, standing around in the common room in her narwhal pajamas. She even had narwhal slippers to match, sparkly silver horns just above where her toes were. Yeah...

Hopefully Maverick wasn't around to see her in these.

Merlin, where was Nat?

Food. There she was. Oh good.

The sixteen year old pulled her long plait over her shoulder and toyed with the end as she made her way over, a small smile playing on her lips. "Hey." Hi. She was here. Cool party.

Torii gave her Head of House a genuine smile. She hadn't really expected him to remember her name, but he had. "Thanks," she said, and she walked further into the room and stopped in the thick of the crowd of other Slytherins. She didn't know much about Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, but she was really loving being a Slytherin.

Then suddenly, there were lots of people talking to her, and it made Torii feel even more welcome. She still wasn't ready to accept Hogwarts, but this sure made it easier. Turning to Patrick, she gave him a little shrug in answer to his question. "It's...been nice," she said. Really, it had been awesome, but again, she wasn't ready to admit that. "How's Quidditch coming along?"

She turned her attention to Max and nodded. "Yeah, I'm Torii. You're Max, right?" she asked. Because, who didn't know the name of one of their house leaders. Then there was Natalie, which meant all three of their house leaders had greeted her now. Had that been out of obligation, or were they really being friendly? She wanted to believe it was the last one. "Hey, Natalie," she said with a smile.

Patrick nodded to Max, "yeah man the OWLs are a bit intimidating. I'm just trying to keep a level head." he said as he ate on a piece of bacon he had snagged. It was fun being able to eat some breakfast, lounge in pjs, and hanging with his housemates was extremely fun.

He was drawn back into the conversation when Torii. "Thats goo--" he was ready to listen to her go on when she asked him how Quidditch was coming along. He was really hopeful with picking a team this term. "Well I have to make final decisions on the team here shortly and it's a bit unnerving being in charge of the team."

glancing around the room he took in all of the smiles on everyone's face. It was a nice change from last term where everyone lived in fear.

By the time Gunnar made it into the common room, it seemed like the pajama party was already in full swing. He didn't have pajamas on, but he was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt, which he figured was close enough.

Rather than announce his presence to a large group of people, the fourth year slipped in somewhat quietly as was a little more typical of him, and made his way towards the food. He could eat. He could always eat.

Gunnar loaded up a plate full of breakfast food and found himself a seat in the middle of where everyone else was. "Hey, everyone." That was sort of social, right? He could be social. Especially after he had a belly full of food.

Natalie didn't actually expect Max to ask Zac what his problem was. Although part of her kind of wished he would have because she would have made him report back to her and TELL her, because, honestly, she was dying to know.

All she did was try and be his friend that one time.

But whatever, she was over it. SO OVER IT. And now food was of most importance.

She was glad to see one of her (newly decided) best friends arrive because she could have fun with her and not wonder why Zac hated her while they ate good food. "Hey, you made it!" Good thing too, 'cause Nat probably would have hounded her if she hadn't.

"Come on, dish up. I don't wanna look like a pig." But it was kind of already too late because her plate was full and getting heavy.

Honestly, Natalie WAS trying to be nice because it was part of her job description, but from what she could tell Torii did seem kinda cool and Natalie at least wanted to get to know her a bit. So, there was that. "How are you liking Hogwarts so far?" Much more than she would have last term. Boy, she dodged a bullet.

So far it looked like everything was going well. And he waved at all the new arrivals as he moved to load up his plate, the man was starving, sometimes he forgot to eat while grading papers and though he was pretty much drinking tea constantly, sadly and it pained him to admit this, tea wasn’t enough to live on. As much as he tried.

So his plate might have been stacked full of food, a massive amount of food that wobbled a bit as he carefully walked towards the couch, managing to avoid most of the kids on the way, not that he didn’t want to be friendly mind you, he just didn’t want to dump his breakfast!dinner on someone.

He settled down onto a couch and started to dig in.

Nothing to see here kids, just your friendly neighborhood Astronomy teacher/Head of house stuffing his face.

Though.. where was his tea cup?

"Yep. That's my name, don't wear it out."

Max shot the new girl a rare grin. He still felt weird being here in his jammies but his hand-crafted sandwich was starting to come along nicely so he was in high spirits.

Hmmmm. What to put after the sausages though?

"Yeah, just keep your head down and study hard and you'll be fine." Or hopefully he would. Max didn't really know much about Patrick's grades but he didn't seem like a doofus. So. "I can go over some Charms stuff with you, if you want."

Max didn't exactly know Gunnar very well. He'd seen him around the Common Room, obviously but that was pretty much it.

The younger boy received a nod in greeting, but other than that, this Slytherin was pretty distracted with his sandwich. Hmmmmm.

Bacon or eggs......?


"What do you reckon?" He asked finally, turning to Natalie with a frown. He could use a second opinion and judging by how full her own plate was looking, Natalie knew a thing or two when it came to chowing down food too.

"Shall I put the bacon on next? Or the eggs? Or shall I skip the eggs? Do you think it'll make it too soggy?" He had all the questions, okay? This was serious business.

Torii hesitated for just a bit. She really had to tell them at some point. She had to tell them why she was here, and why didn't like it, and why she just wanted to go home. It seemed sort of fitting to do it now, seeing as she was surrounded by her housemates in their common room. Wasn't this supposed to be like a family or a home away from home? Hadn't she read somewhere that Slytherin was where she'd find her 'real friends'? She almost knew some of them more than she knew her aunt and uncle, the people she currently lived with.

"I...uh. It's going well," she said, chickening out at the last second. She'd had so much hope she could finally get some things off her chest, but she guessed not now. She managed a smile and added, "Slytherin's awesome. I'm really glad I got sorted here." Her gaze moved from one prefect to the other, and even though Max had given her a sarcastic reply, she grinned. "Wear it out? After Charms class, I think that's already happened," she said with a laugh.

Patrick grinned at Max, “thanks that’d be really helpful. Sometimes its nice to have extra help.” He laughed even harder at Torii’s comment about wearing something out in Charms class. Man was that an experience. He was not envious of Max. He was unknown enough that his friends didn’t feel the need to poly juice him.

Looking over at the couch he noticed Professor Kennedy, but he didn’t have his tea cup and that was so odd for him he hated that he had been sacked last year for simply living. He hated that all of his fellow students had been put in fear.

Even though Kalen knew the rules had changed and he was allowed to have his tea outside of the kitchen. The man was still a little twitchy about it.

He was currently seated in the common room, a book in his hand, and his tea cup was hidden on his lap, occasionally he would take a sip of it, but he would also move his book a little so it was hidden from view.

He was even drinking it quietly, only the smallest of sips could be heard as he drank it. He sighed softly and set his cup back in his lap, balancing it on his leg as he held his book in front of it.

Maybe he could disillusion it?
