As you turn into the potions corridor for class, something appears, well...off. The wooden doors to the laboratory and Noble's office are there exactly where you'd expect, and yet, as you arrive outside the classroom, it becomes quickly apparent that there is no sign of the usual entrance. A plain, solid stone wall stands where the door would usually be, blocking your way.
Professor Noble is nowhere to be seen, though his overly large and grumpy cat, Annie, skulks further down the corridor.
Please tackle the doors in order, regardless of where others already are! So if you're stuck at Door 1, keep trying until you get to Door 2...then Door 3 and so on. I will be here and posting regularly to catch you up if you need.

Daisy was still wondering what to do when she saw the parchment appear on the door. She was tossing up between a couple of answers. She made her way to the parchment after the Head Girl and Ravenclaw Sixth Year and with her wand, selected "Sourcing and availability of ingredients". Daisy crossed her fingers as she waited to see if her selection did anything to the wall.

Hanna saw some heads move towards the wall, and watched as some people tapped the parchment. The parchment which was written in Professor Noble's very own handwriting.
She took a closer look at the parchment, and read it. Ethics. Was that what they were going to be doing in lesson today? An ethics class? Hanna had thought about some sort of career in Law, somewhat different to Ethics, but she enjoyed brewing potions. Alas, either way she had to answer the question.
Her wand in hand, she re-read the question and thought that the answer would surely be all of the above. And that was what she tapped. Being that all of those answers needed careful ethical consideration.

No matter how grumpy a cat looked, a cat was still a cat and they all liked to be scratched behind the ear so when Annie rubbed her face against his hand, the fifth year could not help but smile.
He was in his own little world while he waited for the Professor to show up but even if he was distracted by the cat, he still kept glancing in the direction of the other students further down the corridor to see if anything new had developed.
Realising that SOMETHING was going on, judging by their body movements, Dorian let out a sigh and looked back at Annie. "I need to go" he said and pulled his hand away and stood up to full length. Straightening his uniform once again. "Bye Annie~" he gave a little wave at the cat before turning on his heels and marched to the wall.
Reading the parchment, the Ravenclaw thought for a moment. The most obvious answer would be the last one 'all above' but what if this was a trick question? Ah no he was thinking too much. If he chose 'all above' his answer was bound to be right cause he had chosen everything and therefore the right answer as well.
And so he tapped the "All above" with his wand and walked away from the group once again. Was the cat still there? "Annie~"

Was Archer late? Why yes, yes she was. Did it seem like it was going to matter? Not at all. You know, since the door was missing and all. Did she notice the fur that grown back along her shoulder since she'd waxed it last night? Also no. No, she was still basking in her imagined triumph over that particular issue. Though, she couldn't hide the fact that she was trying to find anything possible to scratch her back with. Including walls. Er, just one actually. The one where the door to the Potions classroom used to be. Right beside the......note?
"Professor Noble has to be messing with us, right?" she asked, still using the wall as an impromptu back scratcher, much like a bear does a tree in the woods. But just in case, she reached towards the note, tapping the all of the above option, because duh. Hopefully, the wall wouldn't turn into a door, because the wall was working pretty well as a backscratcher. Also, Annie are you okay? Are you okay, Annie? Annie, are you okay?

Smiling at Hannah as she spoke, Derf didn't entirely have the time to react as suddenly everyone was huddled up around a piece of parchment on the wall. Seeing as he loomed over the majority of his classmates now, he had a bit of an advantage in terms of visibility...but still had to wait a bit to get close enough to read the writing there.
....and then his hands began to sweat a bit, enough so that he rubbed them against his trousers. Doing so reminded him just how itchy his left leg was today, however, and his focus shifted there while he waited for his turn at the parchment to tap his selected answer.
Merlin...he felt like all eyes were on him because potions ethics had certainly been his platform for, well, a while now. One of his platforms at least. Being a teenager was hard, you know?
Reading over the options, Derf joined the majority in tapping 'All of the above' with his wand...and then used his wand to scratch his back.

Oh, class must be cancelled today so that meant they could all just go - oh wait, there was something there on the wall now. Maybe it was a notice saying class was cancelled? Cordelia jumped up and down and craned her neck to see around the people standing in front of her so she could get a peek at the parchment. Darn, it was a multiple choice question. Would they have to get it right to get into class? Having to answer a question just to get into the classroom should be illegal. Impatiently, Cordelia waited for her turn to answer the question. Ugh, having every single person do this one by one was going to take forever. When it was finally her turn, Cordelia got a proper look about what the question was actually asking for the first time. It was about ethics, something that Cordelia did not know much about. Cordelia pulled out her wand and tapped all of the above, not because of any knowledge of ethical principles or careful reasoning, but because this seemed like exactly the type of question that was meant to trick you into thinking it was just one of the options but really it was all of them. All of the choices seemed like legitimate concerns to consider. So, could she go inside now? Hopefully there wouldn’t be another set of questions to deal with.

It was interesting to see how much mayhem a missing door caused. Quite a bit. After a moment, Natalie decided to just wait it out and see if Noble showed up. She couldn't imagine why he wouldn't. And if he never did, well, then she would go to the Headmaster. But there wasn't much to fuss about just yet.
Apparently Max thought so too, because he was LEAVING. "Max," Natalie hissed as he started to walk away. "Get back here!" She was about to chase after him, but then he ran into some other person and then everyone's attention turned back to the wall and Natalie was distracted.
A piece of parchment? Oh, so this was a test... Interesting. Potion ethics.
Once Natalie got close enough to read, she got out her wand, considered the options and... well, she didn't really know anything about potion ethics, but "all of the above" seemed like a safe bet, so she tapped that one before stepping back.

Tina was beginning to panic. If she couldn't get inside, she couldn't attrnd potions class. If she couldn't attend potions, she couldn't participate in whatever today's activity was. If she couldn't participate, she wouldn't earn any points, and if she didn't earn points, there was nothing special to set her apart from the rest of the studentbody!
While she was busy trying to figure out how to get inside (and imagining the worst that could happen if she didn't), a piece of parchment appeared on the door. Tina hung back for a moment or two to give her classmates space to do...
whatever they were going to do. Nope, she wasn't fighting her way through crowds, thank you very much! Eventually she found a gap big enough to squeeze through and made her way to the door. As her dark eyes scanned the parchment, her panic immediately turned to anger. Really,
Noble?! I expected better from you, she thought. Professor Noble had been one of the few teachers Tina trusted not to throw her into needlessly uncertain situations... until now.
Still fuming, Tina considered the question. Hmm... she would think ethics would encompass all of those things listed, therefore she tapped all of the above. But as soon as she did, she started doubting herself. It seemed a little too easy... what if it was a trick question? Oh, Merlin! It probably was and she just took the bait like a fool!
Now what? Would she be allowed to try again until she got it right or would she be forced to stand outside for the whole class... at least until a professor - or Merlin forbid, Headmaster Trent - found her and demanded to know why she wasn't in potions? Oh no, oh no, oh nonononono,
she was going to get in trouble; she just knew it!

Josie blinked as the note appeared and went up to it... Well, the answer at least seemed obvious to her. Everything was important to potions... but to the actual ethics... To her that was more about the accountability. It wasn't really ethical if you couldn't hold yourself to making sure that the potion was anything less than top notch in the idea of giving it to other people.
So that was the one she decided on tapping. Like she said of course every step was important to making a good potion... but the most important would have to be the quality of when it was made right?
Malachi watches as people go up to a piece of parchment and tap words with their wands, after reading he can’t help but tilt his head, ethics? Malachi tilts his head as he rereads the question, hoping that he isn’t over thinking this like he has a tendency to do. If we’re talking about the ethics of when brewing the potion it would be Accountability during the brewing process however if it’s after the potion was brewed he’d have to say the administration of the potion. He sighs before taking his wand out and pressing ‘Accountability during the brewing process'.

Patrick read the note just as everyone else had. Oh no. why today? He hated being put on the spot like this. He read the note once over watching the others tap the answer that they thought it was and wondering if they were right. He decided that enough was enough.
Taking a deep breath and waiting until he got close enough to where the door was supposed to be he chose all of the above. It seemed like the right choice considering that was the same type of ethics his doctors were under in the muggle world. Why wouldn't it be the same in the magical world.
Wait who was he kidding nothing was the same in the magical world.
Scrunching up his nose at the sight of the parchment in a display of obvious distaste, Abra waited until he could get a good view of it and then tried to quickly read through it.
And naturally, failed at deciphering any of it. He wanted to read it quickly so that he could get out of the way and let the next person have their go, but the quicker he tried to read, the more impossible it became. He tried again, squinting hard at the parchment, mouthing the words to himself as he read through it, and using his finger to underline each of the words so he didn't accidentally skip onto the next line or otherwise trail off. He didn't like having to do so in front of everyone, but it was kind of completely necessary.
After struggling his way through the entire parchment, and then doing so a second time to make sure he'd read it all completely correctly (and muttering apologies to those who were waiting to read it after him), Abra tried to think on the question. Thing was, he'd spent so long reading that he didn't want to waste any more time by thinking, so, biting his lip, he made a snap decision and tapped 'all of the above' with his wand, before finally stepping back and out of the way.

Due to a very unreasonable fear of Potions, Aaron stood in complete silence towards the back of the crowd. Unsurprisingly, it didn't bother him that Potions was running late? Cancelled, others were murmuring.. Huh. That didn't sound like Professor Nobel, though.
Anxiously shifting from one foot to the next, the Hufflepuff checked his watch. What was the respectable amount of time to wait before he headed back to his common room? His legs were still kind of sore from practice... He hoped they could do more double practices with other houses. Great intensity.
There was some commotion at the front of the group, near the classroom door. Aaron craned his neck to his a better look, frowning at the sight of people tapping their wands against a piece of parchment on the... wall? There was a wall where the door was meant to be. How had he missed that one?
Nudging his way to the front, muttering apologies along the way, he tilted his head to the side. Ethics. Ethics in potions-making. Ooooooh! Neat trick...but the problem with multiple choice questions like this one, the answer was almost always All of the above. Like a reminder of the importance of all the listed choices.
So, he tapped All of the above.
...Would there be more questions?

Well this was interesting…. it was time for the lesson to start and there was no Professor Noble. One that was strange and two why were the doors closed or whether no doors.
Why was everyone pushing? It was like everyone was suddenly excited to go to class. Weird. Though there was a little progress being made now. A parchment appeared. Once it was her turn she read the parchment. She thought about the question, choosing all of the above and touched her wand tip to it.
Now what? Another question maybe? She’d better keep it out just in case.

It was definitely weird that the door to the classroom didn't exist when they were scheduled to have class, but Regina figured it was either some weird Hogwarts thing - weirder things than disappearing doors happened here after all - or it was something the professor himself had done it and it was going to be relevant to the lesson somehow.
Either way, Regina stayed at the edges of the crowd of students that had gathered, just silently observing and staying away from the cat.
And now something had happened. A piece of parchment had appeared, and once most of the other students had gone up one by one to read it, Regina did the same.
Ethics in potion brewing? Interesting. How this related to the door not being there, she couldn't guess yet, but she was definitely intrigued.
"All of the above" seemed like the safest answer to her, but even though she felt like it might be correct, she was also curious to know what would happen if she picked something else. If she was wrong, what would happen? Would she still be able to get into the class? A couple years ago, that thought would have scared her enough to stick with the safer option, but now? Not so much.
Regina tapped her wand against the "How brewing research is conducted" answer. Though ethics certainly had relevance to all the options, if she had to pick the most important one, that one seemed best to her. Discovering newer and better potions was so important, but it was also important to handle research in the right ways. Otherwise things could go really, really bad.

Zoryn was disappointed to say the least.
Not only was class NOT canceled, but they were also being given AN EXAM????????? Look, Zoryn was improving at potions and she wasn't too bad at it when she gave it the time of day, but that didn't mean that she wanted to attend lessons. Let alone take an exam.
This was the worst.
Rolling her eyes, the Gryffindor shoved past those standing in the way to tap on the answer that her smart friends had picked. All of the above. Okay was it over? Could they leave now?

As Dorian moved away, Annie followed, rubbing up against his leg. She liked the petting and attention. Did anyone else want to give her pets?
And as the first person tapped their wand against the parchment to answer, a door appeared in the wall.

No professor, but at least he'd provided a little sign for them. The note materialized right in front of Chloe's nose, and she stepped back and somehow resisted the urge to stuff the whole parchment in her mouth. Not a reasonable reaction, kiddo.
Ethics? Chloe unholstered her wand and poked the last option. All of the above.

Having answered the correctly, the door opened and let you through. Once inside, you don’t yet find yourself inside the classroom, but instead in a small, brightly lit room with another locked door in front of you. A piece of parchment hanging by the locked door draws your eye; another question from Professor Noble.

So that was the one she decided on tapping. Like she said of course every step was important to making a good potion... but the most important would have to be the quality of when it was made right?

If we’re talking about the ethics of when brewing the potion it would be Accountability during the brewing process however if it’s after the potion was brewed he’d have to say the administration of the potion. After tapping the parchment, you try going through the door like everyone else. The door has snapped shut, however, and as you turn the handle and push against it, it just. won't. budge. Maybe you want to revisit the parchment and try again?
SPOILER!!: Parchment: first door
One person at a time, tap the correct answer with your wand to proceed.
1. Which of the following does ethics cover when it comes to potions brewing?
Administration of potions
Sourcing and availability of ingredients
Accountability during the brewing process
How brewing research is conducted
All of the above
ooc note: please tackle the doors in order, regardless of where others already are! So if you're stuck at Door 1, keep trying until you get to Door 2...then Door 3 and so on. I will be here and posting regularly to catch you up if you need.
Malachi tried to walk through but doesn’t get through and sighs before going over to the parchment and reading the questions gain before selecting 'all of the above' before going to the new question and selecting "Its banned at Hogwarts, but can be use it any other time or place I want", hopefully he gets it right.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
At first, Dorian had not noticed that the door had opened up for him because his focus had been on the cat until he heard others get through. He turned around and walked up to the door himself to open it. To his surprise, it worked and he was greeted with another small but brightly lit room. He wanted to continue but ...Annie...he didn't want to stop playing with her either... 'No Dorian, focus on your education.' knowing that he could pet the cat after class, the Ravenclaw stooped down to pet the cat a moment longer before he got up "I'll ask Professor Noble if i can give you a treat later, okay?" he said as if the cat could understand the human language and with one last scratch behind the cat's ear, he entered through the doorway.
The next room was small but brightly lit and the Ravenclaw crossed the room the moment he saw another parchment appear. Reading it, he took out his acacia wand and tapped the second from last option "It’s banned at Hogwarts, but I can use it any other time or place I want" because polyjuice potion wasn't illegal to make except at school.

So uh, they could go inside now? Zoryn silently cursed herself as she walked through to the other side of the door into the room. She should've just walked off while she had the chance. Only... They weren't inside yet. There was still time to turn back ar--
Or not.
The door had snapped shut. Great. Now she was forced to stay. This was annoying. What was even MORE annoying was the second piece of parchment. They were still being tortured, it seemed. Was having to attend class enough? Did they really need a pop quiz right this moment???
The Gryffindor (impatiently) waited her turn to walk up to the parchment, and when she read the question... She had to take a step back in shock.
....... Okay, she understood what was happening here.
@ HER NEXT TIME, PROFESSOR N!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not caring to look around the room to see if others were staring at her, the one who had blatantly broken the rule and perhaps was one reason behind their pop quiz, she stepped forward again and tapped her wand on the answer that read 'It’s banned at Hogwarts'.
Right. Okay. They got it. Couldn't they let bygones be bygones??? SHE HAD SERVED A WHOLE MONTH OF DETENTION. AND HOUSE ARREST. Enough was enough. Geez.

Okay then. Not back and out of the way. The door opened and Abra - sort of almost against his better judgement because this all seemed very suspect - stepped through it.
And found another parchment. Wonderful.
Giving an annoyed huff through his nose - he didn't sign up for this - Abra went through the whole rigmarole of reading through the parchment and the options listed yet again. And, yet again, he squinted and trailed his finger under each of the words in turn and all - the whole thing taking him literally forever once more - and then stood there puzzling over it.
This one was difficult, because... well... it was correct that Polyjuice Potion was banned at Hogwarts, but he didn't think Noble would be trying to teach them that they could use Polyjuice Potion whenever they wanted at any other time. But none of the other options - even the ones that sounded a bit more ethically sound, like the 'informed consent' one - mentioned the fact that it was banned at Hogwarts, which had kind of been a whole THING recently, you know?
So Abra... didn't tap any of the answers with his wand. He just stood there and decisively did nothing, choosing no answer. If that didn't work, well, he'd actually have a go, but for now, he was relying on the idea that this was a trick question.
So. No answer. Final answer.

Oh, see? That worked. Chloe was so pleased with herself as she stepped into the classroom. Only, it still wasn't the classroom, and she glanced around the brightly lit space with curiosity. Obviously there was another parchment to deal with, but was there anything else? Something to bring along for the journey? Maybe a clue regarding what they were dealing with?
Nothing. Okay, then, since Chloe still had her wand out, she directed her attention and wand hand toward the parchment once it was within reach. Polyjuice was allowed at Hogwarts, or at least it wasn't specifically banned (yet), so she suspected that was a red herring.
But there was one that sounded like it was written by Derf, so Chloe tapped it with her wand. After obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into.

When he'd answered the question, Indigo was able to get through the door that appeared. He assumed that meant he'd got it right. Though, he hadn't been too concerned with getting it wrong. He was expecting to step into the potions classroom, but unfortunately that did not seem to be what was happening. Instead, he was in a weird, small room that he had never seen before. Definitely not the potions classroom. This room had another door, and on that door there was another piece of parchment with another question on it. He didn't think this question was much more difficult. He was able to quickly eliminate most of the choices. He wasn't sure what the law on polyjuice potion was, but the question was asking what was appropriate, not what was legal. So it seemed to him that the answer was after obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into. He tapped that one with his wand.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Daisy stamped her foot in self-annoyance when the door that had appeared in front of her, wouldn't budge. "Okay, Swann, focus!" Daisy thought to herself as she re-read the parchment. Her wand pointed at "All of the Above." She hoped this was the right answer.

Oh no, it was another door behind the door. Was it leading her in circles back to the same place? Doors, doors, endless doors. Was she hallucinating? The whole situation of doors behind other doors felt like a really bad low. Cordelia was getting more and more agitated at the sight of more doors with more questions. Okay, this was just the second door, but it still felt like too many doors already. Cordelia tapped “After obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into” with her wand, because she was pretty sure that was one of the issues that had come up earlier in the year. Pushing on the door handle, she hoped it would let her into the classroom and not lead her to another door. When would she get out of this nightmarish state? If it was another door behind this door, she was going to scream. Could she opt out of the whole door after door thing? Were they even having a lesson today, or would she just be stuck in an endless loop of dors that may or may not be hallucinations?
