| | Pit of Slugs One of the less travelled corridors will eventually take you to perhaps the least popular place located in the dungeons. Looking forward, it appears that there is a flight of stairs at the end of the corridor. Indeed, there is. But as you get closer, you realize that there is a bit of an obstacle in your way. A small set of stairs leads you downward into a pit full of slugs, big and small. By the looks of it, this nasty infestation has been here for a very long time.
At this point, there are really only two options for you to choose from: either turn around and head back down the way you came or make friends with the sluggish residents of the pit and walk through the thick slime to get to the staircase beyond. Should you decide to do the latter, tread carefully unless you want to find yourself covered from head to toe in the lime green goo that covers the stone floor or adopt a number of slugs as hair accessories. On the plus side, at least you now know where to find an endless supply of slugs should you need them for Potions class.

| Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. This time last year, Józef had spent a lot of time in the dungeons trying (in vain) to locate the Slytherin Common Room. Although he was over the fact that he wasn't a Slytherin like he'd thought he was supposed to be (mostly over it, anyway) and was actually pretty happy to be a Gryffindor, the second year had still found a reason for his footsteps to carry him down into the lowest floors of the Castle.
Yes, he needed to see if the weird place with all of the slugs was still present.
Of course, the fact that it was and that he was stood next to it and looking at it and even poking it with the toe of his shoe didn't clear the bemused expression on his face. Who had ever decided this was needed? And why hadn't anyone decided to clean it up? There must be some as yet unknown purpose.

So, Odaline had been intrigued by the slug hole since she had stumbled upon it in her first week here. And ever since then, she had been trying to come up with a way to get past it without getting inside.
Slugs were not fashion.
And neither was the rope she had made out of an old bed sheet that she was carrying draped around her shoulders and arms. Once she'd figured out getting across, she'd be done with it and be onto the next thing to solve here.
But someone was there. "No no no"

But someone was there. "No no no" And an as yet unknown purpose meant a mission! A mission to determine why the slugs were here and what they were protecting.
Because that had to be the explanation: they were clearly stopping students from getting across to the OTHER SIDE and to wherever that may lead. And Józef needed to know. NEEDED to. Absolutely HAD to because he'd been cooped up in his Common Room being lead to and from EVERYTHING for too long and now he was free.
And freedom was getting to him.
If he'd been in some other part of the Castle, there was a good chance he would have missed the quiet voice behind him, but it was quiet down in this part of the dungeons and so he turned to see who had joined him.
"Oh, yes yes yes!" Jó exlaimed back, eyeing the.... washing? the girl had brought with her. "Laundry room is back that way," he said jerking his thumb in a nondescript direction. "But while you're here, you can help me cross the pit of slugs!"

"But while you're here, you can help me cross the pit of slugs!" Wandering the Castle was something that Lady Helena had grown used to over the years. It did not bore her. As long as Helena encountered students on her wanderings she never minded how many times a place was roamed. The Ravenclaw ghost thought that she could hear voices when she drew near to the Slug Pit. “Students.’’ Helena hovered a little distance away. Her nose was wrinkled in disgust. The Pit appalled her. “Having trouble with anything?’’
