| | |  Long Term Assignment Part 2
It was a cloudy day in Mid February, and Kalen was peering out of the windows, it wasn’t a good day for this, but at least the students would have several weeks to work on the next part of this long term assignment.
He sat on the edge of his desk, making sure all of the sundials were fully marked. That had been a long Saturday for him, but at least everything was done.
He had to wait to explain the next part of the assignment to whoever showed up.
He had made an announcement about it, so hopefully a few people would.
Hey all! This is the main part of the long term assignment, and Kalen will explain what they will need to do. This thread will be open to about March 20th or so, giving you plenty of time to do what he explains.
It’s not hard!  This isn’t a class, so don’t worry about being late or anything. | |

Patrick walked in, wearing his sweatpants and his favorite sweatshirt. If he was going to be doing long term assignments he sure wasn't going to be wearing his uniform for such antics. He slid on in anxious to see what exactly they were going to be doing for this term assignment since the first class was super vague.
"Hey professor Kennedy" he nodded as he walked in. Wow such a bro Patrick. He needed to reign it in.

Hoping that they were going to do atleast a bit more than the previous meeting, Dorian entered the room. Unlike the slytherin captain who he saw was already present, he was dressed in his school uniform but his tie was a bit loose. He could be cool. Ahem...
"Hello Professor Kennedy" he greeted first before he looked around but saw no indication of what they were going to do apart from the sundials of course.

Hair pulled up in a goofy braid up-do today, Nettie walked in to the long term assignment sluggishly. Maybe she should have stayed in her dorm, but she wanted to work on her assignment and get this taken care of. Then she could focus on her other lessons, and try to figure out why she was apparently turning in to Rapunzel.
Itching her wrist, she smiled at Kennedy but didn't say anything, taking a seat.

Kalen smiled and nodded at Patrick, Dorian and Trinetta as they walked in. So far it seemed like it was just going to be the three of them, so he supposed he could tell them what to do so they could get out of here and get on with their weekend.
“Hello, I’ll get this over with quick so I won’t keep you from your weekend. For this next part of the assignment I want you guys to take your sundials, which have been marked, and over the next two months, on three separate days, I want you to take your sundial out on the grounds and try to tell the time.
I will give you the dates, so what I want you to do is go out on the dates I give you, try to tell them write down the observations in the notebook you took during our first meeting.
When the two months are done, bring the sundials and the notebooks back in, and turn them into me. Does this make sense? ” Kalen asked as he looked around.
OOC: basically we want you to make three separate posts out on the grounds, or anywhere in the castle really, of them trying to use their sundial! And feel free to make up the Three dates that Kalen gave them!
Once you are done with the three posts, make a post back in here with a link to all three posts, and you can have them turn in their notebook!

Tina was here... a little disheveled, a little groggy, but she was here. She wouldn't miss an assignment, even if it was on a Saturday. She needed the points from this to offset her less than perfect marks in DADA!Upon her arrival, she'd greeted the professor with a polite, "Hello, Professor" and taken a seat. Uh... she blinked confusedly as she saw Dorian in full uniform. Were they supposed to wear their uniforms today? She thought this wasn't a formal lesson, so she just threw on a sweater and jeans.
Maybe it would be okay, she thought. So far, Kennedy hadn't said anything about the lack of uniform and launched straight into the assignment. Tina jotted down a few notes about the directions. Take your sundial somewhere on the grounds on three separate dates, try to tell the time, and write down your findings... got it! She nodded in reply when the professor asked if that made sense. It seemed pretty straightforward to her! So... was that it? Could they go now? Not that she didn't enjoy Professor Kennedy's company, but she had other homework to do!

After the dates for the assignment had passed, Tina returned to the astronomy tower to hand in her notebook, complete with the three required entries. So was she supposed to just set her notebook on Professor Kennedy's desk or hand it to him in person? Her dark eyes searched the room for the astronomy profesor. "Hello? Professor Kennedy?" she called. "I'm here to turn in my notebook."
