| | Fruit Bowl Out of all of the paintings hanging on the walls of the basement corridor, the one depicting a silver fruitbowl is an easy favourite for some of those here at Hogwarts. While many may think that there is nothing special about this particular painting, those who are well-informed about its purpose know what lies beyond. Past this painting is where all of the food you stuff in your mouth three or more times a day is made.
If you're in the need of second breakfast, elevenses, or a mid-afternoon snack, then this is the place to be. If you are someone who knows this particular castle secret, you know those bananas and grapes aren't there just to make your mouth water and your stomach rumble. Simply reach out your hand and tickle the delicious-looking pear in the corner. After it has a squirming fit and laughs, it will transform into a green door-knob and grant you access to the grand Hogwarts kitchen where anything you desire can be whipped up in no time at all.

Oh how delicious! Fruits! The perfect late night snack.
This curious little mutant moved over to the painting with wide eyes and a sudden craving for pears. This would be delightful. She'd been in search of more fruits ever since that the old lady gave her an apple. Mmmmm, it was juicy.
More please?
The mutant looked up at the portrait, unaware of it's true nature. Quite suddenly her mouth expanded wide, stretching upward. CHOMP!
MmmmmmmMMmMMMmmMMm so good. The portrait was gone, as was any chance of getting into the kitchen unless you were an elf and could pop in and so was she. Off to find more little nibblings. Oh the wobbly feeling was back. Fun!

Patrick was headed back to the common room after Quidditch practice when he would normally pass by the kitchen, grab a snack, and then head off to the common room for homework or bed. He was just about to turn and scratch the pear when he realized it wasn't there. "Merlin!"
He turned and headed off to the Headmaster's office. He would not be getting caught standing in front of another accident like he was with the house point systems. His feet pounded the ground as he took off.

His feet pounded the ground as he took off. After doing her Charms homework, Stella decided she needed alittle break from all the madness and get some cookies from the kitchen. Walking out of the Gryffindor common room she headed happily down towards the kitchen to get herself some nice chocolate chip cookies and milk. Ah... that sounded like the best way to end the day of school work and studying. Humming to herself she walked up on to where the portrait was suppose to be and bit her lip. Where was the portrait of the fruit and the pear she was suppose to tickle? "Uh-oh, this isn't good!" she thought to herself looking at where the portrait was. Her mind was telling her to abort mission before she gets into trouble, but her feet wouldn't budge. Why were things missing around the school, who was behind all of it? "Oh man, all I wanted was some cookies, I swear I wasn't going to take them all I promise!" she said sighing.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Lola A. Second Year | Mischievous Niffler Tickling the pear was one of the things Alice derived pleasure from the most on her occasional trips to the kitchens. It was more refreshing than saying a password and hearing the pear giggle was oddly satisfying. Not that the self-serious professor was about to start laughing with the pear - that would be a bridge too far.
She was headed down to refill her bowl of pears and apples that she kept in her office. Normally the house elves would have refilled it, but she had requested them to allow her to do it herself - she needed the walk for exercise along with her usual Yoga routine.
While she walked, she couldn't help but to glance around at the corridors she passed to make sure everything was in place. She was naturally a very ORDERLY person, and this was her doing her usual checking to make sure things were ship shape. She was just about to enter the kitchen, when... "Patrick Dooley!" she snapped, just as the Slytherin boy was rushing towards her. He probably hadn't seen her coming or he wouldn't have been running, right? "Don't run in my presence." Then she walked past him and continued on her journey to the kitchen. "What the-?!" Her eyes bulged angrily as she took in what she was seeing. Stella was standing in front of the place where the pear was supposed to be. She was looking rather anxious. "Ms.Starson!" She strode over to stand by the Gryffindor girl, her eyes still where the pear was supposed to be. "Do you know what happened to the pear?"

Looking at the portrait where the pear was suppose to be she frowned slightly, now how was she supposed to get into the kitchen now? Oh... boy this was going to affect alot of students, not just her that comes and gets a snack just like she did. Was this some kind of punishment again for sneaking snacks back to the common after meals? If so that was just mean, everyone deserved a snack between classes and after a long day of doing homework and studying. She guess the house elves would just have to visit them in their common rooms, poor things that was more work for them to do.
Looking at the portrait she jumped slightly at Professor O'hara's voice. Looking at from the portrait to her she shook her head. "No ma'am I don't, I came here to get a snack after studying and it was like this, I have no idea what happened. " she said eyeing the portrait again. Who or what would eat at the portrait of fruit? she couldn't wrap her head around it, but then again alot of weird things been going on lately around here.

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite The entire walk down was filled with the man wondering how he'd get snacks should this portrait really be gone. The elves were busy, and while they had the ability to pop in and out of the kitchen, he knew they had better things to do than bring him a sandwich. They worked hard to prepare three large, balanced meals a day. If everyone suddenly started
bothering them, he'd have more worries than Toddles not being able to stay on task.
......Maybe he'd give an announcement about it. Make sure none of the students tried.
For now, there was the issue of the actually missing portrait.
Malachi slowed to a stop as he approached the younger Gryffindor and the History of Magic Professor. Just like Dooley had said, the place the portrait hung was now empty. Whoever took it didn't leave a trace. "Gotta say, I was half hoping you were yanking my chain there, Dooley." It'd have been better than THIS. Circe.
The man cast a revealing charm, just in case the portrait was still around but being hidden as a minor prank. When the spell turned up nothing, a grimace tugged at the corners of his lips. "Well this is a fix." To state the obvious. "Blasting a hole through the wall isn't optional...." He ran his hand along the section of empty wall. "How about you two? See anything suspicious?" It was a growing trend, things happening and no one seeing but he was hoping this time would be different.

Patrick had followed close in the headmasters heels. Not wanting to make a comment about his earlier running to the history of Magic professor. But he was here now and glad that some “adults” were seeing what he was seeing. ”Sorry sir. Wish there was a chain to yank. Especially with how loud my stomach has been growling.” he mumbled the bit about his stomach. He didn’t figure that mentioning that would be proper.
He noticed the Gryffindor girl and wondered if Professor Starson thought she did it. Man he felt bad for her. He would have hated if something odd and mysterious like this happened and not a single person believed that you hadn’t done it.
He was really hoping there was another solution as his stomach growled again.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Lola A. Second Year | Mischievous Niffler Frowning, the professor walked towards the empty portrait and put her fingers where the pear was supposed to be. "I don't suppose you've seen any house elves around recently, have you, Stella?" She looked back at the Gryffindor as she asked, her mind already coming to a conclusion on who might be to blame.
They were quickly joined by the headmaster and Mr. Dooley. "Headmaster!" She stiffened like a sailor in the captain's presence (this habit was a very Alice-y thing she did) and watched as he examined the place where the pear should have been. "No headmaster, I haven't," replied Alice earnestly, her mind whirling to ideas of who in merlin's beard could be to blame for this. "You know who I think we should interrogate about this? That house elf., Toddles. He's a troublemaker. I wouldn't put it past him to attack the portrait if he thought he was being treated unfairly. I believe we should initiate a search for him this instant." |

Looking at the Headmaster she shook her head. "No sir, like I told Professor O'Hara here, I came down to get a snack after studying and it was like this." she said honestly still looking at the portrait. What kind of sick game was this? This was something worse then what Peeves would do and he did some terrible things. She didn't want to be blamed for this, it wasn't her doing or her fault, she didn't want to get into trouble. She had enough getting into trouble last term for things she didn't do or what she did do but was silly. Last term still haunted her, it was something that she'll never forget.
Looking back at Professor O'hara she shool her head. "Not recently Professor, I reckon that they might be in the kitchen or around the castle." she said shrugging. What was going on around here, things missing and now the portrait to the kitchen is gone, she was confused by what was going on. "Oh... man, all I wanted is some cookies and milk!" she thought to herself sighing. Looking at the Slytherin captain she nodded at him as her stomach growled with hunger. "At least I'm not the only one that's hungry. " she mumbled to herself.

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite He was feeling a bit peckish himself but felt no need to beat a dead horse. They were probably all hungry. It was the convenience of having the kitchen around when a snack was needed outside of meals and while he wasn't one of the growing students anymore, he was a MAN and by nature they required a lot of food. Yes, this was quite troublesome indeed. Equally troublesome, no student ever seeming to see anything when he asked. "There wouldn't happen to be some student led joke, would there? Some year of pranks to josh the new guy, tug him about a bit then no matter what, swear you never saw anything?" If there was, it would be such a clever little way of avoiding having to name anyone and with him trying to enforce ethics he couldn't very well veritaserum half the school population but he couldn't help think about it all the same. "I don't suppose either of you would tell me if there were, the unlikelihood I'd find out the real culprit if everyone kept their mouth shut but," Because there was a 'but', just in case, "hypothetically speaking, if that's the case, I'd like you all to put an end to it. If, hypothetically speaking, there is some organized effort going on here, let the leader know I'm willing to pursue this no further if everything ends here and the portrait is returned." See? He could be reasonable. Malachi wasn't sure what to believe at this point, so it was important to cover all bases.
Speaking of, the man raised an eyebrow at O'Hara's suggestion. "Toddles?" The inattentive elf? "I mean, he's annoying at times with his lack of attention to detail and inability to complete more than one task at a time but...this seems a stretch. He'll pop up sooner than later for his next task. I'll have a word with him then. You lot can help in the meantime. Someone must have seen something. Find a ghost, find a portrait, find Peeves--but leave if he's being too rowdy." There was no need to bring anyone to unnecessary discomfort on the part of the poltergeist. "If any of you see an elf, direct them my way but let's not start pestering them for food they're very busy."

Patrick watched with amazement as Professor O'hara began to act totally different and no non-sense because the headmaster was there. It was such a weird way to see their professor acting. He watched as the others answered the headmaster. He was a bit taken aback by their actions, but stayed silent taking everything in.
Just as he was about to cross his arms he heard the headmaster ask if this was all a joke. "No way sir. Not as far as I know. Although I guess i don't keep track of those kinds of things since that'd land me in a heap of trouble." he waived his hands in front of him a bit trying to let Headmaster Trent know that it was in fact not a prank. "Also I really hope that a group of students wouldn't be so cruel as to take a painting. Like I'm a growing boy, I eat way too much." he sounded concerned now that he didn't have access to the kitchen.

Stella lifted her eyebrows at Professor O'hara snapping into attention like a sailor or solider who was at the presence of her captain awaiting for orders. She found it a bit odd, but hey everyone had loyalty to someone abd hers was to the Headmaster. Looking at where the pear was suppose to be, she bit her wondering who or what would do something like this. It was definitely weird that was for sure, but then again so was a lot of things that was going on around here.
Stella froze in her spot with horror in her sky blue eyes, as she shook her head at the Headmaster. She was only a second year, she didn't know what was going on around the school or who was doing what. "A...A joke or a prank sir? I don't think it is sir, even if it was I wouldn't be involved in it, I don't get into those type of things." she said honestly. Older class men mighf be involved in it, like the love portion on the start of term feast, but who was she to know that. The kitchen was a popular place here who would want to do a prank like joke like this?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Solana Selwyn Slytherin Fifth Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Selene Diana Evans Ravenclaw Seventh Year | Kitchens anyone? Snow Miser | Munchy | Molly Hooper | T | Hey, you | Phantom | Mrs. Chris Evans | Brat Pack | Tristalen Kalen was walking down the corridor, his wand out in front of him as he was levitating a giant portrait of a bowl of fruit in front of him. It was about time the kitchens got back to normal and now that the mutants were gone, hopefully this painting would stay where it was meant too.
He himself was getting rather annoyed at not being able to go into the kitchens and grab some tea, so when he had seen the portrait being delivered the man had jumped at the chance at hanging it and making sure all the charms would be replaced.
Kalen moved the painting back to its proper place in the corridor and after a few moments of making sure it was straight and not lopsided, hung the painting carefully on the wall.
There! Now for the charms.
He waved his wand at the painting, softly muttering spells as he did so.
The man reached out and tickled the pear after he was done to make sure he got them right and grinned when a handle appeared and he grabbed at it and opened the door!
Ahh the kitchens!
Well now, that worked out well! |
