If you are eager to see, be seen, and get to school first, then the front passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

Time for school again! Summer went way to fast, but she did get the winning snitch for her little league teams championship, so that had made up for not making the house starting spot last term and this term she was more focused and more determined to get her spot back. She wanted that spot and she would do anything to get it back. She knew her housemate had it and that would cause some more problems again this year, but no one was going to take it from Chloe.
Now that she was a third year, Chloe felt more at ease getting on the train. Waving goodbye to her parents she turned and headed into the train. She'd find some of her friends or even go find her brother after a while, but right now she was determined to find the perfect seat. Looking through the compartments from the back clear to the front she finally settled on one in the front. This way she could see everything quicker then she would from the back.
Placing her things under her seat she looked out the window and gave her last minute waves before pulling out her notebook and going through some of her summer to do list. What hadn't she gotten to do that she had marked at the beginning?

HE WAS HERE..ON THE TRAIN
It was finally happening. Igor was going to the school or well castle but it was a school. He had his pet raven all set will find out if he has permission for it soon enough This eleven was making his way through the corridor like he owned the place with is a weird look for an eleven year old. He opens up a compartment with a flourish and loudly hoping it would be empty but you never know what to expect.
AH...someone was in here.
Cool...Cool...Cool...Cool...Cool.
"Anyone sitting in here?"
because he was thinking of sitting down if well they weren't taken. He had no idea if reserved seats where even a thing here.
"And you see a rat i think someone lost one outside down the corridor"

red-rimmed eyes sought through the crowded paths of the train for a compartment equal parts quiet and empty. Maxie's throat was sore and he was certain any words he tried speaking would be pure croak. He was already feeling vulnerable after the not-quite fight with his parents, the last thing he wanted was to have a conversation with anyone (Finley and Niko included).
the gangly first year quietly walked passed towering boys and girls with bright smiles, and all the while he kept his eyes on his trainers (today he was wearing a very exclusive pair of Nike's designed by Virgil Abloh). Safe, He'd be safe and fine, he just needed to keep his head down and keep his mouth shut until holiday break and then.. and then.. everything would be okay.
the young boy glanced up and to the left - full - but up and to the right? a sunlit compartment without a single human or animal residing within. he sighed, deep and heavy and lugged his trunk in. "Happy Birthday." Maxie whispered to himself, heaving the trunk up and into place on the rack. He'd had so many plans. Ice cream. Eyelops. A visit with Damien. A hot dog eating content.
he should have known something was up when Damien hadn't shown up this morning. Maxie closed the compartment door and sat himself down, eyes unfocused on the view beyond his window. Any thoughts of his father's mysterious words or the path before him were eclipsed by dread.

Mariam was neither upset nor excited about transferring schools, especially towards the end her school years. It is what it is. A quick goodbye to her parents who were in a rush anyway, and off she was to her new school. Finding a place to sit wasn't as awful as she thought it'd be, surprisingly snagging one of the empty compartments to the front of the train, having figured that would have been the most crowded. Luck of the draw, she supposed.
Setting her carry-on on the seat next to her, she looked up to those who were passing by her compartment, silently wishing she'd have the compartment to herself the entire trip. Small talk wasn't her strength. What was her strength was getting through this whole book she got as an apology gift from her mother for having to transfer her before they got to the school. Time starts now.
do i have time or motivation? no. am i going to do this anyways? yes

Zoryn Amari Spinnet was a SEVENTH year. She owned this place, officially (let's be real, she's been in charge since second year). She was the QUEEN BEE. The MOST VERY IMPORTANT PERSON, the MVIP if you will.
And yet.
And yET, she wasn't in a chipper mood. Quite the opposite actually, Zoryn Spinnet was annoyed. This was supposed to be the best year of her life. It was supposed to be all about her. But everyone, their sister, and pet goul had decided to transfer out this year. Which meant Zoryn had lost several friends to stupid schools with stupid names like Beauxbatons-- WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN????????????????
And as if all of this wasn't terrible enough, SOMEONE HAD SAT IN HER COMPARTMENT.
The Gryffindor slid open the door and GLARED. "Can't you read?" She pointed above the girl's head, where it said 'This compartment belongs to Zoryn Spinnet (and also Faith Chosen),' while it wasn't anything official, Zoryn had carved it into the wall four terms ago. It was a pretty well established rule now.

Faith was having a great day! It was the first of September and that meant they were back at school, which meant that there were FRIENDS there. Not that she hadn't just seen her friends, especially when literally two weeks ago the whole #DetentionTrio had been over for her birthday pyjama party. And then Zoryn had stayed over for like the whole WEEK because the U17 season was over and they'd both gone to all the U17 parties and it'd been so great. And then she found out that Théo wasn't coming back to Hogwarts for their last year. And that was really sad.
But she still had Zoryn, and that was most important. Her best friend. Her ride-or-die witch. Speaking of whom, she'd probably better get to her before there were things that blew up or worse: people that blew up. Not the best way to start out the year, with detention until the end of term. They still had to try out for the quidditch team for the last time!
"Zoooor," she grinned, her already sing-songy accent becoming more so as she looped her arms around her best friend from behind in a loose hug. She'd missed her and it'd only been like three days. "It's fine, we can shaaaaaaaare! Besides, she can take Théo's seat."
Then, she popped her face out from behind Zoryn, just so their compartment's occupant could see. "I'm Faith, by the way." And just to clarify, pointed gaily heh. gayly. at the scratched in words on the compartment wall. "That Faith. I'm Faith Chosen. Just in case that wasn't obvious."

Well this was it..
Today was the day that Caolan started an entirely new school with entirely new students and hundreds of miles from his home in Northern Ireland. It was a strange feeling going from being a well-liked, part of the furniture type of student at his old school to being the new kid here. You see, Caolan had attended a muggle school in his small town where everyone pretty much knew each other and had done since they were little. This new school was full of kids from all over the place with lots of different backgrounds and suddenly he felt like a complete outsider, a feeling he really wasn’t used to. Caolan however wasn’t a newbie to magic and had been schooled by his magically talented grandparents ever since his father had passed away. This was his chance to become the wizard that his mother had tried to prevent him from becoming. She had her reasons behind it but the boy wasn’t scared, a little apprehensive maybe but mostly excited about the prospect of what he was about to experience.
He said goodbye to his two younger sisters and planted a kiss on his weeping mother’s cheek before boarding the train and heading towards the very front where he hoped it would be quieter. He had been shopping with his grandparents for the essentials but mainly had a lot of hand-me-downs that his father had left in his name which were carefully packed within his suitcase. They may be worn but they were sentimental and the family weren’t the most well off to afford all the luxuries that he imagined a lot of the students had. This, however, had meant that he had met no-one so far.
He found an empty compartment and plonked himself down in the seat purposefully on the opposite side of the train to where his family was standing. He didn’t want to see them get upset for fear of ruining his image and letting a quick tear run down his own cheek. The fifteen-year-old folded his arms across his chest and waited for the toot of the horn and the engines to start running.

Start of her genealogy research, check
Hanging out with cousin....
"Oh hello" She did her last check with her cousins before closing her journal and placing it on her lap. Looking curiously at the young boy that had just come in. "No, I'm afraid my best friends haven't come yet, but you can sit there if you like." She looked at the time wondering where her besties were, but no need she had company now.
"Are you a first year?" Not that she had to guess, he looked young enough, "Excited about school?" She was actually quite excited, this was going to be a much better term than the last. Now that Hawthorne was back she could feel more comfortable.

Maybe. Maybe not. Most likely not.
Did a kneazle have her tongue or was she illiterate AND mute? Zoryn, of course, was bold enough to ask, and she would have done it had she not heard Faith’s voice coming from behind her. The shorter Gryffindor turned to return her friends grin. Fortunately for the illiterate girl, Faith Chosen was just about the only person in the world who could bring Zoryn Amari Spinnet to an instant calm.
For the record, she was still ticked off. But, at least now she wasn’t going to use her wand. “You know how I feel about sharing,” she groaaaaaned, knowing very well that the girl was sitting right in front of them. Perhaps she was deaf too. That’d really be a kicker.
Taking one of Faith’s hands into her own, Zor interlaced their fingers and then stepped inside the compartment. Oh look! The girl speaks! How wonderful. Groan. Upon the girl’s offer, Zoryn found herself chippering up. “Kay byeeeee!”
What? She offered!

Melody was not quite sure what she felt about a train yet. They lived in magic world, but still had to go on train to school? Very much like muggles. Luckily Melody as muggleborn and knew quite a bit about muggles. This did surprise her though. Surely there was a quicker way of getting to Hogwarts that didn't involve a train journey. But Melody had her book, and was not too fussed about the long journey really. She liked her own company, and didn't mind being alone.
The brunette was wondering around the train, trying to find herself a compartment. She wanted her own one, because she could not deal with company. Everywhere was full though, and that frustrated her. She was frowning as she came upon a compartment that only had one person in. That would do. She looked older than the person anyway, so probably could try and kick them out if they annoyed her. So the brunette opened the compartment door, and moved in.
She probably should have greeted the other student, but she didn't. She didn't like talking too much. Melody just sat down, and got her book out. All settled for the next couple of hours.

Wallowing in his solitude, Maxie has skunk down into his seat. There was a pressure just behind his tired eyes - no doubt the beginning of a post-cry headache - but he was mostly ignoring it As there was very little he could do for it.
A fact which only further reminded Maxie of just how unprepared he was for all of this. He had no robes. Or books. Or a cauldron. Or parchment. He had no idea what his father had been alluding to for his wand - it might very well have been a prank knowing Aiden Belfort - and lastly, but perhaps most importantly he had left his precious Walkman home.
Miserable, rotten day. Maxie forced back a sniffle. He’d been so furious with his parents but hadn’t been able to leave without a hug from them each and right now that was probably the most embarrassing bit. So lost in his angular head was Maxie Barton Anderson-Belfort that he barely noticed the older person as they let themselves in and took up a seat without so much or a hello or an excuse me.
Had he noticed- had his eyes been opened- Maxie would have frozen on the spot.
"Oh hello" She did her last check with her cousins before closing her journal and placing it on her lap. Looking curiously at the young boy that had just come in. Ok now the question of did Igor want to stay here with her and her friends or find a compartment with other kids who looked his age. Well he had to think fast.
Well he didnt want to think that fast right now so he walked in with a smile.
"Hi, Im Igor"
Manners where important.
"Yeah starting my first year"
He made his way and took a seat. Was he excited? Well, he couldnt lie and say he wasn't especially with everyone here seeing him off. "A little bit since i dont have to leave my raven at home" It would have been a much somber at to the year had he had to leave Baba at home with Papa and Mama even they would have taken good care of her.

Oh he was going to come in and sit with her. Chloe enjoyed meeting new people and now that she was a third year, she figured she should be helping out the younger students. "Well I hope you enjoy it, Hogwarts can be very exciting." Though she would leave out all the horrible she had been dealing with the last few terms, he didn't have to worry about any of that.
"I'm Chloe by the way, a Ravenclaw. Maybe you will end up in my house." Though first years could end up anywhere really, "Do you have a house you want to be in?" Sometimes the hat took that into consideration, at least that was what she was told.
"Ravens are very interesting creatures, I'm glad you got to bring him. I have a cat, though, I'm not exactly sure where she has run off to at this point." Her eyes scanned the area before shrugging, "Teacup is a tiny one, kind of like me, but she can certainly hold her own with the bigger cats." That was something Chloe did enjoy about her cat she was a survivor just like Chloe wanted to be.
Matthew slowly closed his book and rose to his feet. He had been sitting the entire time he had been on the train. His long legs were now starting to feel achy after sitting for so long. The book he had been so focused on no longer could hold his attention as he saw younger students running past his compartment.
This was the first time Matthew had even taken a moment to look at other students that were in his compartment. He remembered hearing them as they join together and settled in, but he simply chose to stay submerged in his reading. They're going to think you're a loner if you keep this up. You're already going to be labeled as "that new kid" Matthew thought to himself. He cleared his throat, "Hey guys, I'm Matthew. Matthew Flory." He smiled at his compartment mates. Not idea, but better than nothing. He chastised himself.

[/QUOTE]
Hugs were great. Faith was sure of it, because even in this half-hug, staring (friendly staring, though) curiously at this strange girl, she was feeling so comfy. Maybe it was Zoryn's head being a good headrest. But y'know, we're digressing and there's things to be paying attention to like Zoryn being mean.
"Sharing is caring," she said, squeezing Zor's hand as they entered the compartment. "Besides, Théo's in Beauxbatons and Sylvie--"
She missed Sylvie already.
"Hi Mariam," she grinned. "I like your name. And your hair -- do you want a ribbon? I think it'll look really nice on you. I've got a red one in my bag and it's all glossy and shiny and I bet everyone will appreciate your style~"
They sure did appreciate her sparkly bow and her pretty socks. Or at least pretended to. Which she appreciated, generally.
And she'd just lay the puppy dog eyes on Zoryn until she caved. It usually worked.
