| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Septimus had definitely woken up more as he made his long way to the familiar pitch, the third year glad that the weather was still pretty warm being so early in September. Ravenclaw and Gryffindor students should sooooo get excused for part of these exercises given how much they walked already in their normal everyday passage up and down from their respective towers. That had to be at least one or two laps around the pitch.
As he arrived, it was clear he wasn’t the first there, but that was to be expected. Especially for the Slytherins and Hufflepuffs there. And there was the headmaster and a few professors there as well. One new one seemed to be pleased with the gathering while Professor Stewart appeared to be trying to keep her cool. “Morning Headmaster…Professors,” he greeted them to keep polite himself. His new head of house getting a small weak smile from him.

| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Beth’s eyes glanced around the Quidditch pitch as she tried to find faces she knew…really, she was trying to see if this was a WHOLE school thing or just a few-people thing. It just so happened that she had heard Professor Stewart’s cold greeting to the new headjerkwad and couldn’t help but forget everything and forgive. ”Professor Stewart, Professor…math-guy” see she didn’t yet know Professor Davis but she was going to be polite. Purple toad boy Dorian got a small wave and Stella…gosh, she got a giant grin. ”Hey Starson, this is new.” she informed with a little bit of a frown – Jessa’s request made Beth respect her even more…but still, she mainly stood there quietly watching people until she spotted Chase.
Slowly making her way over toward him and Stella in turn. ”so…Spenley, Starson” she gave them a kind smile before dropping her voice to a hushed whisper. ”look I don’t know what the punishments will be – but I was wondering if you guys wanted to quietly resist with me…y’know, since obviously this is a hostile takeover” she paused for a minute "something tells me our new Headmaster dislikes fun - and student activities" she shuffled her feet and tried to make it look like she was JUST shivering.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Daehyun "Daniel" Yoon Third Year | Daehyun just knew no good would come with the new headmaster. Mainly because he never got those gut feelings, but he did that morning when, even though he'd already been awake, he hadn't been prepared to run around the Quidditch pitch. Him and running? They were like two parallel lines that would never meet.
... and now they had obligatory running exercises. Merlin, help him. He was anything but athletic.
Having been awake when the blaring noise woke everyone else up didn't help. He was awake, yes, but not awake. Only conscious enough to read a book in bed, no more. So, there he was, dragging one foot in front of the other on the way to the pitch, shivering slightly in the early morning chill. Or maybe it was only him who felt cold - being dragged out of his warm bed was cruel. Muttering the lightest "Morning," in the general direction of everyone with a slight nod, he buried his hands in his pockets and his chin in his sweater, and awaited further ungodly instructions.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Addyson Lynette Dane Ravenclaw First Year | Slytherindor ♛ The Crazytastic Besties ♛ Shan Watson ♛ Chase offered Stella a small smile. Twas early in the morning, was it not? He then gave her a salute accompanied with a wink. He turned his attention back towards the Professors when GG herself appeared out of nowhere. SPENLEY was the new Salty, hey? He appreciated that but he'd never tell HER that. No, no, no, never. Otherwise, she'd get a big ego. Besides, he was such a good friend that he couldn't possibly ever, ever, ever let that happen. Nope. Chase was a great friend.
He paused, listening to Beth's whispers and just paused. Hostile takeover? He supposed. "I guess..."... The Professors just let the guy intervene. Well there was nothing really that they could do. This guy assumed the position of power. If they intervened, then they would risk losing their jobs..... He understood that. Beth continued talking. This guy disliked fun... and activities.. "Well we can't be sure..." he lied. In his heart, he had a feeling that this new Headmaster would hate the concept of a dance team and perhaps maybe even Quidditch. Beth Greyvson was beginning to ruffle his feathers.
"Greyvson... We just have to give this a go... Y'know the whole not judge a book by its cover or whatever that phrase is?? Y'know what I mean..." He was trying to follow big brother, Lucas', advice and play it safe.. "maybe he's not so bad... ?"

| Standing by THEO Sardines ♥ BHB ♥ Dallie ♥ Grumpy ♥ MY SUN AND STARS ♥ i love julia Waking up was hard on a normal basis. Waking up earlier to go running was EVEN harder. Especially if you were not mentally prepared for it and a very gruff old man was (virtually) yelling in your ear very early in the morning to do so.
At first, Natalie was angry because she had been woken up, then she was confused because no one had ever MADE her run before. Then she remembered her attitude at the feast and how she thought this may be a good thing; to have new authority and new rules.
So, she rolled out of bed, put on some leggings, a sweatshirt and the most appropriate running shoes she owned and dragged herself outside, tying her hair up into a knot on top of her head on her way. She wasn't trying to be cute.
Veering away from the group of housemates she saw, Natalie instead went to go stand by Theo. She didn't say anything. Just stood by him. And may eventually lean on him if she fell asleep. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Marie Dowitcher First Year | Lizzie, still groggy from sleep stumbled towards the Quidditch pitch. She thought that she'd gotten used to the time change but now, she wasn't so sure. She followed the flow of students entering the large wooden structure. She'd only heard about Quidditch but had yet to have a chance to witness a game, by the size of the stadium she was optimistically looking forward to it, but first...exercise?!
It looked like the rest of the students that had gathered were just as confused and unexcited about this early morning wake up and there were whispers of something having happened at the feast, though Lizzie, not really knowing any of the Professors was unsure what or who, had happened. She remembered seeing people coming and going out of the corner of her eye, but the feast had taken most of her attention, and she was worried, if the exercise included running whether she'd see the remains of the feast make a reappearance. She was relatively fit, but definitely out of practice. She sent a sympathetic look to the other students around her.

Stella looked at Beth and frowned. " Figured all that much, what are we in military school?" she said in a hushed whisper. Stella almost giggled at what Beth said she covered her hand over her mouth stifling giggles her sleeve of her robe covering her face. "Judging by his look, he doesn't know the definition of fun if a snake spoke it to him in parseltongue and he could understand it!"said Stella in a hushed whisper to Beth. She wasn't trying to be funny. ok... maybe alittle but Beth was so much fun! but she was being serious as well. The beady eye stone face big bad wolf would probably forbid them to do anything fun.
Hearing Chase comment she let out a small snort. " Yeah... Judging by his cold stoney face and beady eyes he's going to be so much fun, just what I wanted to be in military school my first year here!"Stella said to Chase sarcastically in a hushed voice. She might be a first year but she was a spunky little firecracker that spoke her mind. Oh yeah.... Mr. Stoney face bad wolf was going to be so pleasant and nice, he looked like a bear that might bite your head off if you poke it with a stick. Stella really did have asthma, what if she had a attack? that wouldn't be good, although she had her stuff on her but what if she fainted or so? Oh...Merlin that wouldn't be good.

For the love of all things good and holy!
Maddie had heard the announcement. Loud and clear, thank you very much. She had tried to start wearing make-up to classes this year, but now thanks to Sergeant Scrimgeour and his early wake-up call, that was a no-go for today. She arrived at the pitch and was met with an already-growing crowd. So what was this again? SORE? Sigh. Maddie had played Quidditch last school year and was no stranger to exercise, but did anybody really have time for this mess?
Furthermore, why were there so many professors standing around openly calling this man Headmaster like he really, truly was or something? Had they forgotten how hard Hawthorne worked to fight those Inferi?
So, what were they supposed to be doing? Running or something?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bramble "Bram" Wyatt Lennox Graduated | ThunderPUFF | Whoodley | MRD&LKD | Graphics Queen | Tristalen | Mrs. A | Hunny Bun Tristan was in a mood...which was a massive understatement. Didn't this man know he had creatures to tend to at all hours of the day? Why was it mandatory for him to be here? But...he had to keep it under control. He needed to be here for the students during this rather difficult transition, as well as his colleagues.
Wearing a t-shirt and sweats, he made his way over to the group of students, professors, and the new headmaster. The thought of this guy being headmaster really made him want to roll his eyes, but he kept a stern smile on his face as he joined the group. "Morning, everyone. Headmaster." He gave the older man a curt nod.
Bloody hell, this was going to be annoying. He looked around, wondering where a certain Astronomy Professor was, knowing this was going to be just as annoying for him.

| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Beth almost perked up when she saw Daniel there – but something stopped her…Spenley’s comment about him being her ‘boyfriend’. So here she was just acting as cool as a cucumber and plotting things…the usual. Her eyes panned over to Chase once more almost widening in shock, no, we can’t be dramatic today Beth she mentally spurned herself as she stood there. His words made NO sense at all.
One quiet dramatic sigh in response, ”Spenley, don’t make me regret upgrading your nickname from Salty…” Beth only fake warned – really, she’d done it because she liked him…as a friend obviously – no other reason. ”besides…this feels like an austerity measure…step one force people to work out together in a group” Beth was still considering how it would all pan out, how they would limit their fun. ”then they’ll take away school clubs that don’t have the right image – like Quidditch and that Dance team you wanted” Beth reached over and gave him a look while patting his shoulder in a consiling way.
Beth of course grinned at Stella's ideas even trying to hide a laugh at the parseltongue comment. "merlin its cold" she finally spoke out loud for everyone to hear. Clearing her throat she turned toward Daniel and smiled, "Hey Daniel - have you meet my new buddy Stella?" she grinned pointing over to the little lion....seeee she was amazing right? right. And there, it wasn't like she was talking about him a lot or anything - she was also being polite. Mmmhm. Polite - because Beth was also a good friend.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alexis "Lex" Stone Second Year | It felt like they had been standing there for ages, just waiting. It would surely take forever for everyone to arrive here, and the air outside was chilly. Lex felt her skin breaking out in goosebumps, and rubbed her hands together for warmth.
She shivered, and let out a deep sigh. Then she heard a familiar voice commenting on the weather. She looked around groggily and saw Beth, a fellow second-year that she'd met on the carriages before the Feast. She inched her way towards the Slytherin. "Hey," she whispered. "What d'you suppose this is all about?" She wished she were still in bed. Maybe she'd have fallen asleep if she weren't out here right now. "I wonder how long this will take," she continued quietly, shivering again. |

WHY did she have to be waken up so early? She already disliked this man, and now she almost HATED him. Except she didn't want to hate anyone. That was a big feeling to have and she didn't want the burden of carrying it. So, she tried to focus on some... good things. "Hello," she said groggily to those around her. She yawned widely and wiped the yawn-tears from her eyes.
Okay, so she LIKED being outside. Sometimes. Not this early, though. Like... from late afternoon onwards. And this certainly wasn't late afternoon. She liked excercise! Loved to dance, to prance, and stretch. But she didn't like running. At all.
She sighed, before another yawn took over. Everything about her day was goung to be so Cattywampus. She was supposed to get up, shower, get her uniform on, her books for the day ready in a certain order, pack her bag, go for breakfast and read, head to her first class. That was what she did. Her routine. But now what was she going to do with this... this SORE business?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Daehyun "Daniel" Yoon Third Year | Merlin, it's cold, he'd heard. So it wasn't only him!
Perking up upon hearing his name, it took his tired brain to process that the voice was actually very familiar and belonged to Beth. "Beth, hi," he said with a smile, before turning to the new lion, Stella. He remembered her getting sorted into Gryffindor, but he had yet to meet the girl. Shaking his head, he said, "I haven't, welcome to Gryffindor!" Maybe he would have sounded more enthusiastic and offered the girl a larger smile, but the poor thing had to endure what looked like a dreadful first year at Hogwarts.
Unless she enjoyed early morning workouts.
"Am I the only one ecstatic about all this?" he muttered under his breath to the two girls, obviously not ecstatic at all. Why weren't there early morning book clubs in the library instead? Now for that he'd be excited.

But mostly Tayo because they worked out together a lot anyway, albiet not this early. | Natalie, Theo, Sylvie and everyone <3 *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! Running bright and early had already been on his agenda, because those sweets he had consumed in the train and the feast he had not been nervous to devour the night before? - they were sitting under his skin; mocking him. So running was more than welcome, running with everyone at school was not.
Nonetheless, the former wolverine was down at the pitch - stretching and looking for a face he wouldn't mind standing by. Thankfully, all too soon his eyes caught Natalie and Theo, and he made his way over to them. "Not a fan of mornings, I am guessing?" he asked her, and gave Theo a nod in greeting.
Noticing the yawn of the girl (Sylvie) who seemed to know Natalie and Theo too, he raised a brow, "Is this a usual Hogwarts thing?" Because by the looks of everyone, it didn't seem so.

Annna was having a great night's sleep, as usual, when the ridiculously loud noise and voice and crazy demands woke her up. Huh. She wasn't too sure what she thought about it, but running was never an issue for her as she did it anyways although in the afternoon, not in the morning . So YAS, she was up for it.
With her GRYFFINDOR running gear on - house pride, yo - the fourth year had her hair pulled up in a tight ponytail when she jogged her way to where the gathering was. "Good morning!" She greeted everyone there with a smile as she came to a stop. Truth be told, it had felt odd watching the headmistress be dismissed right in front of them all, but Anna was actually willing to give these new people the benefit of the doubt. She liked changes and was going to be watching to see what would happen, both good and bad.
She saw Chase and Beth and a few others whispering and moved to stand nearer them, but not too close. The brunette also sent Penny and Patrick a smile and a wave before looking back at the 'new bosses' to see what would come next. |

Gaston was no stranger to late nights and early mornings, as balancing his roles as father and professor kept him up at all hours of the day and night. But last night was different. The events of the feast replayed in his mind throughout the night, making it impossible to sleep for the emotions plaguing him… all the shock, anger, and overwhelming sadness over Regina's departure; the haunting memories of last term and fears of what this one might bring refused to die. Yet all those feelings paled in comparison to the longing for his daughter. This was the longest he'd been away from her since he was in St. Mungo's! As much as he needed her comfort now, he knew it had to be this way. He couldn't go on terrifying her - and even if she wanted him around, he was sure the newly appointed headmaster would never allow home visits.
With a heavy breath and an even heavier heart, Gaston approached the quidditch pitch wearing a black track suit and fully prepared to run with the students. He couldn't in good conscience ask the students to do something he wasn't willing to do himself! He was used to long runs or walks around the school grounds, though not usually at the crack of dawn and more often than not with his cat Phantom at his side, so he could get behind this routine… as long as it didn't become a vehicle to demean and humiliate the students. That thought reminded him of his childhood gym class, and he shuddered at the memory.
Stifling a yawn, Gaston nodded politely to the metal-armed man. “Good morning, Headmaster,” he greeted, hoping against hope that his fear wouldn't show in his voice or in his eyes. Merlin, this man intimidated him more than the entire Inferi horde that attacked Hogwarts! At least with the Inferi, he knew what their intentions were so he could come up with a plan of defense. There was no telling what Scrimgeour was capable of! “Good morning, Foster, Kaysha, Tristan, students,” Gaston said, nodding to each person in turn. He stood with the other staff, making sure to keep the headmaster in his line of sight at all times. Someone had to keep an eye on him - them, all of them!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Calvin Fletcher Graduated | I’m right, you’re wrong. They don’t call me a Seer for nothing.
Now THIS was how you got a head start on your day. Calvin had been up before the announcement, not ever having been one to sleep in but it was still refreshing. As was the early morning air. Ahhhhh, just smell it. Fresh. Crisp. A real waker upper. Pity the whole day couldn’t be like this.
The man got up from his meditation and made his way out to the pitch. He’d already known more or less that this would be happening and was dressed for the occasion. “Good morning, all.” If you didn’t know any better, you’d almost think the man was in a chipper mood. What could he say? It did his heart some good to see so many of the students already present and ready for the morning exercise—even if they weren’t really ready—and seeing a few more heading over on his way down was equally uplifting.
There was no need to resist the order. This was how it was meant to be and it pleased him to know that at the very least they could follow the instructions given to them.
The Divination Professor settled somewhere near Scrimgeour, not at all engaging his colleagues. He wasn’t trying to be rude, but he had nothing he wanted to say to them and didn’t think there was need for forced conversation.

| Was he surprised that an adult was the first to arrive at the pitch? No, not really. In fact, Scrimgeour didn't mind that one bit. He gave the man, whose name he did not know, a nod. In fact, it was a nod of genuine approval since the professor seemed rather eager to lend a hand. "We'll need staff members stationed around the pitch when the students start making their laps. Make sure to give any necessary encouragement should they start slacking," the old man replied.
Speaking of students, the sight of the first few caught his eye. He watched them with observant eyes as they approached, taking note of the ones who were ready to start their character-building and then those who were, to put it quite bluntly, the runts of the pack. Those that greeted him received a nod in return. Those that did not, well, he would whip them into shape in no time at all.
And that included the professors who needed a reminder of who was in charge now, such as that Muggle Studies professor. "Stewart, is it?" the headmaster asked gruffly in response to her 'greeting.' It was more of a rhetorical question than anything. There were more important things to him than getting someone's name right. "It has come to my attention that you and some of your colleagues did not stand during my speech last night." There was a lengthy pause before he spoke again, casting a glance at the Creatures professor too. He was hearing this, right? "You and those select colleagues, whenever they arrive, can join the students in running laps this morning and set a good example." His order was nonnegotiable. They, honestly, were lucky to still have their jobs.
The same went for the Head Girl, whose badge was on the verge of being revoked. Special treatment for her had come to an end. "There will be no opting out. You will make your laps just like everyone else, whether you run them like the others or have to succumb to walking and end up missing your breakfast. And I will be taking ten points from Ravenclaw for not arriving in proper attire for your exercises."
Without another word, he turned away from the girl and gazed upon the other students that had arrived.
The male Hufflepuff prefect received a look, one that wasn't intimidating. Scrimgeour was actually impressed with the boy's enthusiasm. "Just run. The staff and I will take care of the stragglers. Don't you worry about that."
When he was greeted by the female Hufflepuff prefect, who shook his metal hand and commenting on his eyes. Assertive? He used to be an Auror, so naturally he was. Regardless, all of this was entirely uncalled for. He had to give her credit though: she was showing respect. "Back in ranks."
He then caught sight of the Deputy Head. The old man didn't respond. He simply blinked at the man before addressing the crowd. "Right then. Let's not waste any more precious time," he grunted at them all. "Every morning at this time you all will be running laps around the pitch. While obligatory, this is not a punishment. In fact, it is for your benefit. Research has shown that morning exercise improves both mental and physical energy. Doing the S.O.R.E. will get your blood flowing, kickstart your brain, ensure you are awake during your lessons, improve classroom performance overall, and build character."
Did they all hear that? There was logic behind all of this, whether they liked having to crawl out of bed at the break of dawn or not. "You will be making five laps around the pitch. When you are done, you can go rinse off, put on your uniform, and report to the Great Hall for breakfast," Scrimgeour explained. "Those who refuse to complete their S.O.R.E. will lose House points, serve detention, have privileges revoked..." His voice trailed off. They would also find out about the jinx soon enough. He doubted everyone had made it to the pitch, which meant there would be a number of students walking around with boils sprouting and spelling out 'TROLL' across their forehead.
He, directing a nod toward Fletcher, then motioned at the entrance of the pitch with his metal prosthesis. "Begin."

| I mean, who has running clothes? Snake disguised as Raven Browncoat Alastair hadn't thought to question the announcement, as for all he knew this was simply how life at Hogwarts was. It also might have been possible that the indignant, rude part of his brain had yet to wake up for the day. And so he'd tripped around the room, putting on various items that were the closest things he had to running clothes—because honestly, who had clothing meant specifically for running other than that one upper-year student over there who looked entirely too keen on what was about to happen—and followed after Thadius as the other boy made his way down to the pitch. Said items may have included a sweater vest (there was a bit of a nip to the morning air, after all) and his second-best pair of loafers (his best being reserved for class, naturally). Quote:

And just as he was starting to muster some indignation about being out here, feeling the dew from the grass seep into his loafers and dampen his socks, the Headmaster informed them of why they were here.
...
...well, he couldn't very well argue with research, could he? All that bit about building character was bunk, in his opinion, but if this would lead to higher knowledge and better grades he was all for it, inappropriate footwear or no. With a slight slip-and-squelch from his shoes, he was off. |
