| | Merlin's Beard! (Term 50, 2096-2097) A bit confused about the plot? Housemates talking about a mysterious something going bump in the night? Here's where YOU can post and catch up on happenings around the castle and in Hogsmeade -- out of character, of course.
This means that unless your student character heard this stuff from other students or witnessed the actual event, your student character doesn't know about it.
Also, this is a reminder to everyone to only post updates on the school plot here. Please do not post the happenings of your student character in here unless it is related to the plot; that should go in the Wizarding World chat thread.
Have fun! |

Looks like someone’s made a great escape. Scrimgeour might be on borrowed time. Quote:

Not that there would be any reason for her being out and about with Professor Sabra to be worthy of questioning. Though, if anyone asked, she was simply serving detention for the woman. By the Whomping Willow of all places.
And the blonde was playing her part. Her eyes took note of the tree's branches swaying violently and then looked to the professor, waiting for instruction just in case they were being watched or someone came by. Quote:

With a brief nod, a glimmer of hope in her brown eyes, the runes professor glanced cautiously around one last time. Alone. Good. And cast a non-verbal immobulus on the tree. "You know what you need to do." She said, quietly, by way of giving her approval for the blonde. Quote:

Once it was moving no more, Nora gave a stiff nod toward Sabra. She felt her pocket to ensure that the handbag was indeed still there and then removed her wand, nonverbally lighting it. No further time was wasted as she moved forward toward the large gap in the roots.
A final glance was casted back at the woman, a small smile appearing on her face as a strand of blonde hair turned brunette. Then she was out of sight.

BOSS LADY IS BACK! Quote:

The woman looked just as she had when she left months ago, appearing refreshed as ever and no longer needing to drink a potion every hour. Though that had to do with the envelopes that she was keeping safe in her robe pockets.
Without a word, she walked forward. The last of her mission was to get to the staff table to make a specially delivery.
But she had been sidetracked as she made her way along the Hufflepuff table. There were a number of things that she was disappointed to see and hear, even more than the sight of the low amount of gems in their House points counter: dresses, talk of throwing potatoes, ash on a plate, Derfael's speech (which was a bit too late if you asked her), and she swore she saw something green poke out of his pocket (so much for not breaking school rules).
She paused at the table, looking at many of the Hufflepuffs with a no-nonsense look. Their behaviour right now was unnecessary, especially when everything -- student accounts, memories, photographs, and even a formal staff complaint -- had been collected and brought to the right people. Rules were meant to be followed, some currently being broken had already been well established long before the change in leadership.
"Mr. Ashburry-Hawthorne, I recommend you calm down and sit quietly. Everything is under control," she said sternly. "And I expect everyone here to be following the school rules that have been in place. So, if you happen to be breaking any of them right now, you had better change that immediately." Otherwise they were all continuing to prove that Scrimgeour was right.
Not waiting for any response and having nothing else to say, Hawthorne took a moment to collect herself and made her way up to the dais. There was a job she had to finish. Quote:

Her first stop was to Rafferty Ainsworth. She then made her way over to the opposite end of the table, starting first with Gustave Le Roux and then Aleksandur Petrov. The woman didn't linger on these men for very long, eye contact wasn't even made. She cared not for them. All she cared about was watching them leave once and for all. Then she dropped an envelope in front of Calvin Fletcher. Again, no eye contact was made. Quite honestly, she felt nothing for the man. He wasn't even the one she had wanted to see sitting in that Divination seat. Lastly, she stopped in front of the man who had given her a letter months ago. Stiffly, she handed over the final letter that she was carrying. Her eyes remained focused on Scrimgeour, wanting to watch him read every word and then see how he would react to his rule crumbling right in front of him. She hoped he would leave without saying anything, but she was prepared just in case...

And there goes Petrov and Le Roux.....with more to hopefully follow: Quote:

As the Headmaster made his way to the podium, he stood and listened to the man's speech. Nodding at all the appropriate places. As he listened, he ran a finger over Hera's scaly body around his neck, wondering how much longer the man would be talking. He was so glad when the words 'be seated' we said, and he sat promptly down. He was ridiculously hungry. He hadn't done this much animal wrangling since he left Durmstrang and his appetite had grown immensely since he'd come to Hogwarts.
Though very soon after the speech was over, the doors to the great hall were thrown open and a very beautiful woman walked through them. He wasn't sure who she was. He watched as she made her way towards the staff table, handing letters to each of the new Professors...the new Professors hired by Scrimgeour that is. He looked up at her when she handed him his, and took it slowly from her.
He swiftly opened the letter, fumbling a little as he pulled it out of the envelope. He read through it three times before it sunk in. An angry sneer passed his lips.
Fired. Because of insolent little bratty children. They were exactly why he had left the education field.
Alek took a deep breath, placed his hands on either side of the table, and pushed his chair back, standing up as he went. He straightened his robes before giving the entire room a look of disgust, turned on his heel and made a beeline for the doors of the Great Hall. He wasn't going to waste another minute of his time here if he didn't have to. Quote:

He had to admit it was rather unnerving to have a snake sitting so close to his person. He wasn’t too fond of the creatures, and so he sort of scooted his chair farther away from the other man.
He sighed as he stood up during the speech, his icy blue eyes just staring out into nothingness really. He had really checked out of this whole place and was just going through the motions at the moment. He was missing his home and couldn’t wait to get back to France this summer. He had somewhere to visit.
Usually he wasn’t so sentimental, but maybe being so far away..
Anyways, as he settled back down he noticed a striking woman walk up to the table and lay a letter in front of him. His blue eyes looked down at it for a moment before his long, thin fingers reached for it and opened it.
A slight frown settled on his features as he skimmed the contents of the letter, and without a word or any other flicker of emotion, he too stood and pushed back his chair, and made his way out of the hall.
