A maze of thousands upon thousands of books, the library is heaven to any book-lover. Upon entering the high-ceilinged room, the smell of books, both ancient and new, hits you. There are many tall, narrow shelves neatly lined up, each divided into different sections -- charms, potions, Muggles, fiction, and so on. If you find a book you're interested in, simply make use of the sliding ladder or summon the book with Accio to retrieve it.
But the library just isn't a labyrinth of books. In the heart of the library and on the outskirts of it are tables and seating areas designated for quiet research and reading, some with accompanying fireplaces or large stained glass windows. Tucked away in the very back of the library is the Restricted Section, which requires a key that the librarian keeps on her person at all times and permission to enter because of the more mature titles and content that are tightly locked and chained within. At the entrance stands the front desk where the school librarian can usually be found, who will happily recommend a book, check out a book for you, and help you with any of your library needs.

"It's fine. I intend on remaining right here for at a bit longer," she told him. There was no real rush in getting the textbook back right this very second but she couldn't deny that it was much easier to return her focus onto her own once he sat across from her. Rylee went right back to reading only to be disrupted once again by this boy. While he may not have been speaking to her directly this time his exclaiming of whatever it was he had found had ended up startling her. This time she simply looked at him over the top of her book but said nothing. Was he finished now so that she could get back to her own studying? "Find what you were looking for?"
That seemed like a nice way to spend some quiet time to yourself while also making it educational, kind of made him want to get a cat... one that would sit next to you when you needed the company. He didn't even know where his owl was right now plus that boy was not one to perch with Jaxon. No siree!!
"Cool! Thanks! " trying to sound cheerful mainly for himself on what had seemed like a bleak day. It kind of worked at that point before he sat down in the chair. He looked up at her when she asked him if he found what he was looking for and sort of winced for a second "Huh? Oh! Sorry... I am not used to being in the library so I forgot to say that to myself... in my head" looks back at the book and shuts it "Yeah I think so " stands up not noticing the scrunched up parchment fall on the floor as he walks halfway to her holding out the book "Thanks, I appreciate you letting me borrow the book " smiles as he looks at her hoping he wasn't being too annoying, he just liked talking to people to make days more fun these days.
Holy daisies how did Jackson go from talking in short sentences to rambling in just a short minute? Blinking and trying to follow what the much younger boy was saying Joshua grasped turnips like apparation tests and other schools from the quick flow of words. "It’d surely be cool Jackson to learn to apparate in that way, but it would be complicated to organize since the ministry of magic needs to be involved as well as foreign schools." Joshua highly doubted that headmaster Scrimegour would be interested in such an endeavour since he had forbidden many activities this term.
Mulling on Jackson’s pet choices Joshua couldn’t help but ask "Why would you want a cat or a bowtruckle? Why not a rat or a toad or an owl if we just talk about the school’s allowed list of pets?" Everyone adored different pets he fully understood that but a bowtruckle or a cat had no resemblance at all. Pulling down a book that looked promising about african creatures Joshua almost dropped it to the floor in surprise at Jackson’s sudden exclamation. Looking at the book the boy was holding he tried to keep a neutral tone. "Does the book have an entry on fwoopers? If i don't missrecall totally then Mr Scamander owned a fwooper too."
Jackson nodded, he knew it was far-fetched but it WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL! At the next question, Jackson shrugged. "My cousin had a cat when she was here and I got kind of attached to her... I've never been fond of toads to be honest, Sir," he said bemusedly, and then he began his ramblings again. "I have one of my aunt's owls up in the tower, I got to name him even, but I rarely get to see him. And a bowtruckle... I love watching them in the barns, but I doubt it would pick to hang out with me over its tree, and... we talked about that already." He gave the professor a look, as Professor Petrov's presence with the creatures had gotten them to where they were now.
Jackson could only shrug, because he had no idea what animals Mr. Scamander had. There were so many probably! He picked up the most promising looking book and flipped through the table of contents. "Ha, here we go." There was in fact a section on Fwoopers, so he opened to it and offered it to his professor. "Is there anything in this one you're interested in?" He began to look at the other books around to see if any others seemed relevant.

Lamb was one of the best companies she could have ever asked for. By no means was he Neptune her rat or Pulsar her fox, both of which were back at home. He also wasn't a human companion and didn't bring her the same level of friendship they did. No, Lamb was different. That little white ball of fluff that was her kitten brought her a different sense of comfort nothing else did. He kept her entertained and gave her something cheerful to be around when even the worst of days was upon her. Not to mention her kitten was a great cuddle buddy and no one could scold her for hugging her cat!
Rylee simply nodded at the book when he thanked her the first time. She had been about as lost in her reading as he appeared to be when she just tried speaking to him. A small giggle slipped past her lips and she gave him a light smile. "That's alright. I don't normally come into the library to sit in read either." Most of the time she selected her books and took them with her. Over the last several months she had been doing numerous amounts of reading... waaaaaay more than she normally did and that goes for saying something. "That's good," Rylee extended her arm out to accept the book back. "No problem. Glad I could help." Even if all she had done was allow him to borrow her book for a few moments.
The slip of crumbled up parchment he had dropped had went unnoticed by her. Her focus had been on her own book and than on him, not on the floor.
