| | Front Cars If you are eager to see, be seen, and get to school first, then the front passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

And she was ABOUT to say all that when a boy showed up beside her asking if he could join them. He looked about their age, but she didn't recognize him. She stepped out of the doorway and gestured him in. "Yeah, sure." And then she waited for him to answer Theo's question.
Then she took the opportunity to sit down across from Theo and resume their talk about exams. "I did okay." She shrugged. "I don't really test well." And she sucked at magic, so the practicals didn't go great either. "How did you do?" She asked Theo, but then she glanced at the newcomer to see if he wanted to join the chat. He agreed 100 percent with her there since his attention span was horrible for subjects that weren't quidditch or girls. Which didn't help much in school and probably would have failed almost all of them if it wasn't fro his cousin and friends. Plus they both don test well tho his excuse..not excuse was he was an idiot. Would this year be any better the odds were not looking good.
He was just going to keep talking until the new guy says something. "So you probably did better than me. I failed about 4 of the 9 i took and have to retake them over the summer. But besides that got into fights with the girl im promised to........"
He was just going to tell everyone this year to make some people less mad "So some highs and some lows this summer"

Charlie rammed the handle against his forehead once more before acknowledging the voice he heard.
He thought he was going insane. He could now hear voices too-- but this one's female and wasn't American at all.
Charlie opened his eyes, and saw a girl staring back, and smiling at him. Now that's even stranger. Was he seeing things now too? He could swear the cabin was empty a while back. The American sighed and rubbed his left cheek against the broom handle as he considered her question. "Me...on this train, going back to Hogwarts after last term's happenings. That's what's insane." he blinked...and blinked some more, and eyed the cat on the corner. Charlie shook his head and looked at the girl, to the cat, then to the door. "Wowzers I am not seeing things, am I? Like...you're real?" The Hufflepuff took a good look around the compartment and realized that NONE of it were his belongings. "Oooooooh, shoot. Wrong cabin." Charlie winced, and looked at the younger student sheepishly. "I'm terribly sorry. I should...yeah, show myself out." The Hufflepuff stood up, and reached for the cabin's door. He really ought to look where he's going next time. AHH. Ok. Nettie understood that. She realized that not everyone was so...unaffected by what had happened last term. She'd viewed the whole thing as a very exciting adventure (not at the TIME maybe, but looking BACK on it, it was an adventure). Perhaps it had taken more of a toll on this boy - especially because he seemed confused. Like SUPER confused. Had he sustained a traumatic head injury during all that? If so it was definitely NOT cleared up and he needed to see a Healer ASAP. Like her brother! "I'm sure it'll all be ok. They wouldn't let us back if they didn't think it was safe for us now," she assured the older boy. She had NO clue if what she was saying had any bit of truth to it, but she was trying to encourage him. "Um, yes, I'm real. I'm Nettie," she introduced herself to the boy with a grin. Oh wait, he was going to LEAVE? Nooooo Pretty Boy, don't leave! "It's ok, you can sit with me and Rudy. We could use the company!" she told him quickly.

With a small smile, he followed her into the cabin and closed the door, torn between wanting to be alone and to be with people.
Sitting down, he eased into the seat. "I'm...umm... yeah I'm okay. How are you? How's your summer?", subject quickly. Giving a small shake, he wiggled down into his chair and out his feet up on the seat opposite. Lydia frowned a bit. Ewan seemed a bit ill at ease and more reticent than she remembered him, although it had been quite a while. She wondered if everything was all right with her fellow second year. Trying to put him more at ease, she gave him a big, encouraging smile.
" Oh, I'm all right," she said. " Same old, same old in the Muggle world you know." She laughed. " Honestly, it all got old very quickly, and I'm super excited to go back to Hogwarts, even if things got a bit...erm...too dangerous at times last year."
She thought back to the time they all went exploring in the lake and encountered a horde of angry grindylows intent on devouring them. And things had only gotten crazier and scarier from there. Hopefully second year wouldn't be quite as life-threatening!
Lydia vaguely remembered Ewan disappearing for the second half of last term. She wondered what had happened but didn't want to pry. " Erm, if you don't mind me asking, Ewan, but are you all right? You seem a bit...withdrawn. Forgive me if I'm being too nosy, but you know you can tell me anything that's on your mind."
Lydia hoped Ewan felt like he could trust her. As a Slytherin, she was aware of her house's less savory reputation. She didn't know what experiences Ewan had had with other Slytherins, but she hoped they hadn't colored his view of all snakes. Yes, she was ambitious, but she had vowed never to be the type of person who steps on others to get what they want.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alexis "Lex" Stone Second Year | for anyone! :) After getting the sweets she so desperately wanted from the trolley, Lex returned to her compartment, grinning contentedly, with her pockets full. Her stomach wouldn't be grumbling for much longer.
She saw that her compartment was still empty, and wondered if anyone was going to join her. Maybe she should leave the compartment door open, like an invitation of sorts. She did so, and plopped back down in her seat, removing the sweets from the pockets of her robes and opening a Chocolate Frog, gripping it firmly so it didn't hop away.
Lex gazed out the window, at the gloomy weather outside. She was glad the train was warm and comfortable. She took a bite of her chocolate frog, which had given up trying to escape. With a sigh, she turned her attention back to the sweets on the seat next to her. They'd be arriving at the castle soon, so it didn't make much sense to eat all of this right now. Lex shoved the rest of the food into her trunk, and resumed nibbling on her chocolate frog. |

| Rylee, Drew, and Stella ^_^ ♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<# Oh goooooooosh.
There was a CAT.
Madison liked cats, but she knew that they didn't mix well with chocolate. AT ALL. Fortunately there was no harm done and the kitty didn't get a hand on it. Now the chocolate frog was bouncing in the corner and it was an interesting sight. Fortunately they didn't have actual brains because then things could have been a lot worse. "It's definitely okay," she said with a small smile as she pulled out her wand. After using a stunning spell, she picked the bit of chocolate up. There would be no more incidents like this, especially seeing that there would be a lot of other cats lurking around Hogwarts. "Sorry about that, it just got away from me. I'm glad that your cat is okay." Madison gave the girl an apologetic smile. "I'm Madison by the way," she added in introduction. Her attention turned to the boy. Was he okay? Something seemed to have really troubled him, and now Madison was slightly concerned. |

Ewan couldn't help but admire the countryside as he listened to Lydia talk. It wasn't until she asked him if he was alright that he turned to look at her. He coulsnt help but scrutinize her briedly, judging if he could actually trust her. Pausing briefly, he answered her. Not the question that she asked but still. "It's been a long summer", his long legs outstretched in front of him. "I'm okay. Better not that I'm back at Hogwarts", a small smile spreading across his face. Leaning back he stretched fully, the whole frame of his body relaxed on the chairs.
Despite Lydia being in Slytherin, he appreciated her taking the time to check that he was okay. This was one of the reasons why he didn't seek quiet and silence when she approached. "So how was your 1st year? I hear there was a few problems", his eyes drooping slightly. He'd heard brief accounts of what he'd missed previously but was unsure what was real and what wasn't.
