| | Arcade Area As you continue along the second-floor corridor, you will eventually stumble upon a bust of a medieval wizard who is quietly muttering to himself in Latin. But it is the antechamber near this statue that draws in a lot of students because over the years this spot has been designated as a popular hang-out area. More often than not, those who need a break from schoolwork come here to play an array of indoor wizarding games.
Scattered around this small room are chess boards, decks of Exploding Snap cards, areas for playing Gobstones, and other wizarding games ranging from Snitch Snatcher to Wizard Cracker Pop-It to Wizard Skittles. If none of these games interest you, there is a small table where Runok Ko and Rune Riddle books can be found. Otherwise, you can go check out the suit of armour that stands off to the side -- maybe you will figure out that it is guarding a passage to a secret storeroom -- or, if you feel there's more of the castle for you to explore, take the stairway that leads up to the third floor.

| Kita Bean Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right. Mark had heard from some older students about the Arcade Room at the Castle. Mostly that the name of it was very deceiving. There were no actual arcade games in there, no Pac-Man, no Mortal Combat, not even a Tetris.
Mark knew better than them though. Of course a School that disallows the use of Technology...aside for special cases like a Muggle Studies class with Computers wasn't going to have any of those sort of games here. When he heard the Arcade Room had Wizards Chess, and other Table Games Mark lite up.
Aside for the Art Classroom, a place he could stimulate his mind with games of strategy the Young Ravenclaw took off from the tower and to the Arcade. As he entered inside of it he looked at all the different option, but he knew where he wanted to go. He took a seat at the first Wizard Chess set-up he could see and just stared at it in awe. |

| Jay!Moose ^^ urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse Lucas was exploring. Yep. Exploring the castle and seeing what he could find here. It meant he got lost more often than he'd like but that was okay because he was still at Hogwarts. And today, he knew he was on the second floor but where, he didn't really know.
He was humming quietly to himself but that didn't stop him from picking up the sound of some muttering coming from nearby. Confused, he turned this way and that until his eyes landed on..... a bust. A magical bust of what looked like an old wizard who, upon closer inspection, was muttering to himself. He shuffled forwards to try and hear what the man was saying, even leaning riiiiiiiight up close, but..... no. No, it didn't sound like it was English.
Deflated, he leant away and started to make his way-
Oh? Was that a door? Hello. Lucas shuffled towards the door instead and peeked around it and into the-
GASP! This room had GAMES! Games and what looked like a person sitting..... on their own? Uh.
Curiosity took over and so, Lucas entered the room and started making his way towards the young boy. He didn't look very old but Lucas could only see the back of his head so what did he know? But it was a familiar back of head, it was! He walked around, leaning his head to the side so that he could get a proper glance at the boy as quickly as he could. He didn't know what he'd do if he'd stumbled into someone he didn't know and might have to come up with an excuse but it looked like he didn't have to worry about that.
Why? Because he DID know who this was!
The smile instantly spread across his face and he even knew exactly what he wanted to say to this boy. "Not playing Wizard's Chess on your own, are you? That would be very boring."

| *crashes* Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. On his exploration of the Castle, Jó had stumbled upon a statue that seemed to be talking, and immediately assumed he was talking ABOUT HIM. How very rude! Józef had even tried to get it to answer his questions, but it just went on whispering, so instead he aimed a kick at it's base.
And now he was in a bad mood AND his foot was hurting.
It was whilst he was hopping on one foot, clutching his toe and trying not to make any noise lest someone hear he was in pain, that he noticed the room. With one last scathing look towards the statue, the first year decided to check it out, forcing himself not to wince as he walked.
The pain would wear off, soon - once he was distracted.
He entered the room just in time to hear the last of Lucas' sentence, and draped an arm around his dormmates shoulder, a big grin on his face at seeing someone he recognised. "Very boring. And sad, too." Was the other kid a bit of a loser, playing Wizards Chess alone?
NO MATTER. Jó (and Lucas) were here to save the day!

| Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right. Mark had more or less ignored the talking statue or whatever was going on with it. He didn't understand a single word it was saying.
Mark looked over the chess board once more. Leaning forward and placing his hand under his chin. Deep in thought he was trying to remember how the board was last set up against his God-Father in their Wizards Chess match before he had conceded so not to leave his God-Sibling left out in the room and play with her. As it came back to him he stood up and started to removed and place the pieces on the chess board to what he thought was the original positions from where they last left off.
He stopped though as soon as he heard Lucas's voice. Then raised his eyebrow at the actions of Jó behind him. Don't think he didn't see him kick the statue. That was really dumb. "It's not boring. If you play on your own the Other Chess Pieces can move by themselves to give a bit of a challenge." He scowled at Jo's comment that it was sad. "It's only sad if you don't enjoy a good strategy game." He scratched the back of his neck and looked down.
He was outnumbered unfortunately by two Gryffindors who thought it was boring to play Wizard's Chess alone. "Do either of you want to play, or both of you?" They could work as a team and make decisions together. |

| urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse Did Lucas realise someone else was in the room? No. He just assumed it was only Mark in here but the minute someone else draped their arm around him and started talking, the boy nearly jumped out of his skin.
Though...... it was only Jó. Which was okay. And might've earned him a smile because it was someone he actually knew. Not to mention that Jó was the COOL one in the dorm so if he was draping his arm across Lucas's shoulder, that meant that he, too, was cool.
Right. Yeah. They were talking about games.
The pieces move? By themselves?! Eyes wide, he glanced over at the pieces, half-expecting them to start moving as they spoke. When they didn't, he looked up again and bit his lip. He saw that scowl. He did! He didn't know why but something felt wrong in here. Did they know each other? And more importantly, did they not LIKE each other?
don'tputhiminthemiddledon'tputhiminthemiddledon'td oit "It's.... still better to play with someone else. If you have the chance, you know. You could have snacks and share jokes as well." He didn't have snacks with him and his jokes were terrible but that didn't matter. Not to mention that he did kind of agree with Jó with it being sad but something told him that Mark would hate that so he..... stayed quiet.
At the question, he glanced over at Jó before saying. "Yeah, I could play. I just.... don't know how."

| Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right. The Added newcomer of Jó was still an anomaly for Mark, he had never really interacted with this Gryffindor as much as he did Lucas, and he knew Lucas from before Hogwarts so there was a level of comfort with him. His tone of voice wasn't meant as a level of distrust and hate, but was a hopefully an indicator he doesn't take lightly his hobbies being called boring and sad. "I mean...Yeah it always is better to play with someone else, definitely. But there will be times where you won't too. So you gotta make due." Mark wasn't too sure about his joking ability. Mostly when one laughed it was because of something silly he had unintentionally done. "Oh, that's Not a problem at all!" he gleamed with excitement in his voice. It was always a pleasure to teach a newbie how to play Wizard's Chess. "I promise to go easy on you both If you want to play" His response directed toward Jó and Lucas. |

| Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. Blah blah blah-dy blah. Józef couldn't help but roll his eyes at Marks denial that playing alone was boring, because it was. He wasn't sure of much, but he was definitely sure of that.
That, and enjoying a good strategy game sounded LAME. Which rhymed!
He nodded along as Lucas spoke, explaining why playing with other people was SO MUCH better. Did he want to play? Jó glanced at Lucas to see what he wanted to do, because his dorm mate had agreed with him - not that he was surprised, of course, seeing as he was always right.
"Don't go easy on us." Józef was indignant as he spoke, removing his arm from Lucas' shoulders and striding over to the board. That suggestion was the only thing needed to convince him it was a good idea to play against Mark.
