Professor Phoenix entered the greenhouse swiftly, just having left from an important staffmeeting. They had nearly forgot the time, but what could you do? Things seemed to be getting from strange to abnormally absurdly weird.... after the events of last term...

She sighed, when she heard the bell ring. The students weren't to know.

*Thinking Professor Phoenix was meaning herself Nadia cried:* Lumos Solem!

*Nothing. The movement was lame and ridiculous*

Lumos Solem!

*As you see the stress was all wrong. Nadia takes an intake of breath, exhales and tries again, this time the movement comes smoothly:*

Lumos Solem!

*For a period of time (seconds) her wand lit and Nadia was reminded of the sunny day she spent near the lake that very same morning. Later it fades to almost-blackness again, the Lumos spell illuminates only slightly.*

Lumos Solem!

*Demented Death Eater's wand lights up like a bright sun in the summer sky. The wand stays illuminated for several seconds before fading into darkness.*

*Raise hand -- Notice that with the darkness her hand probably isn't visible: raise her lit wand and lights her raised hand *

Professor, how can the lumos be still working when we cast Lumos Solem? I mean, are the two working at the same time? Or maybe you cannot work the second without the first?

Also, is it really the Lumos Solem the very same sunlight? And how can the Lumos work, breaking the night-charm, where a more powerful Lumos Solem can't? It seems illogical... though the Lumos is quite a powerful spell, maybe even more than the Lumos Solem?

*Virginiap traces the "lightbulb" outline with her wand and pronounces, Lumos Solem!. Light emitted from her wand suddenly fills the room, but fades quickly after just a second.*

Professor, is there a reason my light lasted for a shorter period than yours did?

*fox tries a couple of time the movement and the incantation, before actually cast it*
Lumos Solem ! :sorcerer:

*a bright light explode in the room but for a very short time. 'Not enough powerful, but thank Gods I studied latin, so at least the incantation was fine' fox thinks, slightly taken aback :/ , observing the fading of this odd opposite eclypse*

"Very good. We'll leave it at that for this lesson," Professor Phoenix said. "Lumos Solem Chambren."

The magical darkness disappeared and the students were momentarily blinded by the bright sunshine spilling in through the glass windows.

"There, there," Professor Phoenix said, flinching herself a little. She tapped the blackboard with her wand and their homework appeared. "As I will be away for the week, this only has to be completed by Tuesday, April 13th."

Homework 2

Pick a magical plant of your choice, one you would possibly like to discuss in class and explain what you know about it. What makes it fascinating? Do you know any special properties? Why would you like to talk about it in Herbology? Write about 100 words.

Due: Tuesday, 13th of April
Don't forget to include your house, name and member ID.

"Class dismissed," Professor Phoenix said. "Have a nice Easter."

((Sorry for closing the class so abruptly, but I'll be away for a week ))
