Practicing the wand movement once more,then sayingthe incatation Bree braved herself.She took a deep breath.

"Incendio!"She says while tracing the flame aim towards the block of ice on her desk.As flames came from her wand the ice decreased slightly in size.

*fox try the movement with the wand a couple of time, before pointing it resolutely to the iceblock*

Incendio!

*it drills a few centimeters deep hole in the ice-block. fox looks puzzled to the teacher... is this hole good or bad?*

"That's fine," Professor Phoenix said, approaching, "Just make sure you don't hit the table underneath."

*points at her ice block and carefully takes aim*

*traces a flame and shouts*

In CEN dio!

*the ice block quickly begins to evaporate*

::Riley takes out her wand and aims it at the ice block.::

"Incendio!"

::The ice block begins to melt and Riley starts pointing her wand around the edges, deciding to try and make an ice sculpture to pass the time.::

"...A little off the top I think..."

*Looks at other students working and finally face her, err, *ice-cub* (sp?)... It's aleady melting from the hot 0_0*

Incendio! *trace flame*

*Jumps in the air when the incantation actually works 0_0 --> about to burn her own hair!!!*

Ouch! *redirects the want to the iceblock*

Huff... *sighs relieved. The block barely melts still* Not bad, if I can say it myself.

*fox looks relieved*

Thank you Professor! I'll try to do it the normal way, though.

*point the wand to the ice-cube*

Incendio!

*this time some of the ice melts away and a water starts to drip from the table to the floor*

Professor Phoenix nodded. "You have to work out the technique through practice," she said, walking around the classroom observing the students.

Kyshia traces the flame in the air as she says "Incendio!" A few drops of water appear on the surface of the table.

"Professor, as the wand is moving all the time, how can you know where the charm is going to work precisely? I mean how do you know where you should point your wand?"

"Well, you have to observe the effects. If you can see the flame, and see whatever you are pointing your wand at burning or melting, it's working," she grinned.

Tracing a flame in the air says the incantation "incendio" and the flame shoots from her wand begining to melt the ice

"Good work, everyone!" Professor Phoenix exclaimed happily. "5 points to every student that managed to work the spell properly. Now we will be moving on to Lumos Solem – but so that we don't blind each other with the spell, I will have to charm the greenhouse here. Light your wand with Lumos so you can see me while we continue the lesson.

"Nox Solem Chambren!"

With that, the sunlight was blocked out entirely from greenhouse two, the greenhouse the class was being held in at the moment. It appeared as if there was a shield of black around it to keep the sun from shining in. The students gasped and one by one, lit their wands.

"Lumos," Professor Phoenix said, the light from her wand shining brighter than all others. "No need to worry. We will need this, believe me."

It reminds me of a total eclypse of sun I saw once. It was morning and suddenly it was night. It's disquieting....

Gasps at the light....

repeats slowly,"Nox Solem Chambren!" without the wand movement...

"lumos" this time with wand movement....

Pretty clever, professor If 30 wand have such a powerful Sun-like light it would probably incandilate all of us. (ooc: seriously, you thought this class over quite some, didn't you? ^^)

*Says looking around for where exactly the professor is, blinded trying to look each different spot of light that were lighed around, looking as if they were enormous fairflies.*

Ouch! *hits knee with a chair or something alike it* I better use the spell myself --

*wand tip lits, Nadia gets temporaly blinded. When her eyes get used to the light she tries spotting everyone else.*

This barely illuminates enough to see around :online2long:

"ow, Nadia, that was my desk," he said as his desk hit him in the chest after she banged into it....Lumos and his wand lit up the area around him....

*Mike takes a look around at the wands lighting up in the darkness. He uses the lumos incantation himself.*

"Lumos" he says.

*His wand lights up and he waits for the Preofessor to continue.*

"So. First we will have a look at the wandmovement."

Professor Phoenix trailed something round-looking in the air, and then whispered an incantation. Suddenly, the wandmovement, made up from tiny little flames so they could see, appeared in front of their eyes.





"Try it with your wand. As you have lit the tip with Lumos, you should be able to see what you are doing. No incantation yet."

*Jess begins tracing her wand in the shape the professor just indicated, anxious to see the result of this spell when everyone tries it together in a few moments.*

*anhaire carefully traces the shape with her wand a few times, watching to make sure the shape is good.*

Oops! Sorry, Fang! *tries to look at him but it still too blinded* I didn't see you down there, you see. (ooc: btw, nice poems ~_^)

*Nadia traces the image thinking it looks particularly like a ...* Light bulb. It looks like a light bulb hanging from the roof. *Continues to practice the image.*

*fox tries the movement, first slowly, then a little more confidently, until it seems correct*

"Good," Professor Phoenix said. "Now the incantation. It is thus: Lumos Solem. The stress for Lumos, as with the normal Lumos spell, on the first sylable, for Solem, on the last.

"Lumos Solem!" Professor Phoenix cried.

The room was suddenly lit up, as if it were a bright sunny day in the middle of summer term. But it only lasted for several seconds - then the magical darkness she had casted earlier was back upon them.

Professor Phoenix lit her wand with the normal Lumos spell and continued. "There now. Because of the magical night charm, it will only last a few seconds. We will do the spell on after the other, starting in the first row. On you go," she said, extinguishing her wand with a whispered, "Nox."
