She takes out her ink bottle and quill and a piece of parchment.

"Good afternoon to all you," said Professor Snicket as he quietly walked to set up charts next to the blackboard. He then turns his head and looks up at the arrivinng students.

"From what I can tell, your other teacher, Professor Lennon-Bond...if I'm correct, already taught you the Chinese zodiac right?" Professor Snicket asks the students but then smiles.

"Oh wait, she did thanks to a student who informed me. Anyways, we will be learning a bit more about astrology since a great majority of you should know what your star sign is."

Can't wait to get started!

AShlie nodded. This would be easy.

"Well that's just uplifting that people know something about it," smiled Professor Snicket as he flipped through pages of his lesson book, "Otherwise, we will learn a wee bit about it's "history."

He then took out his wand and the printing on the board immediately erased. He looked up at his class and began the lesson.

" To begin with it began after countless years of gazing up at the stars, people in various part in the world began to take notice that the certain heavenly bodies
- the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupitor, and Saturn - traveled regular paths across the sky.

About five thousand years ago, early astrologers started to make predictions based on the positionsof these bodies, or stars, as they were known. At first these
predictions were concerned only with large-scale events such as wars and floods.

Around the time of the birth of the Christ, the Greeks had developed a way about learning the destiny of a person based on the position of the stars at the moment of that person's birth. The name of the that system called is astrology."

She listens to the Professor as she silently jotted down some notes.

"My two faveorite studies, Astrology and the Greeks," Ashlie said fondly.

*Rowena writes down notes and waits for the professor to continue*

Thyra nodded, and took a few notes.

"From there on, Astrologers created charts called horoscopes, which map the position of astronomical bodies at certain times, such as when a person is born. The horoscope is illustrated by a circle, called the ecliptic.

The ecliptic is the plane on which the earth orbits around the sun in a year. It is divided into twelve sections, called the signs of the Zodiac, which include Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

Astrologers assign every planet (which in astrology includes the sun and moon) with a particular sign, depending on where that planet appears on the ecliptic at the time for which the horoscope is cast. Each planet represents basic human drives, and each sign represents a set of human characteristics.

When astrologers designate a person as a certain sign - a Leo or a Pisces, for example - they are referring to the person’s sun sign - that is, the sign that the sun occupied at the time of the person’s birth. The horoscope also is divided into twelve houses, which make up the 24-hour period during which the earth rotates once on its axis."

"Interesting..." jots down some more notes.

Ashlie takes down the notes.

"The first step in discovering yourself is the day of your birth. The day of your birth tells what sign the Sun was in our your birthday. Since a year is no exactly 365 days, occasionally a sign will begin a day earlier or later than listed here. Ashlie nodded. she already knew this stuff from her studies. She wrote down what the professor was saying then added her own. Scorpio. Water Sign. Negetive.

*Writes note, raise hand* "What do you mean by ' the sign that the sun occupied at the time of the person’s birth.'? They couldn't see the Sun at night nor see the stars when is daylight, right?"

Taking notes... "yup, Leo, that's me!"

"I think that means where the sun was in the solar system. So, during the day they'd have seen it. Thought I may be incorrect," Ashlie said.
