Prof. Dyreth sits at her desk grading some last minute homework assignments while a bewitched piece of chalk writes the days new lesson up on the board behind her. Transfiguration Review continued. To be discussed today: Covadis Charm Baltenis Spell Trengaris Spell Introduction to Metamorphagi Class will begin shortly and I must apologize for posting an incorrect time. Classes are 11am PST/7pm GMT and continued at 4pm PST/12 midgnight GMT. I had 4pm GMT written down and i had meant 7pm GMT. Very sorry class. |
Hey prof.Dyreth* walks in and takes a seat* |
"Çello professor Dyreth, I'm glad to see you again!" |
Hello students. Class will start in ten minutes. |
Great I can't wait.*Chris says excitedly* |
"Hello, were you here at the 1st transfiguration class or I just didn't see you?" |
I was there I didn't say much though. |
Hello I cant wait for the lesson to start! |
"Oh, well.I'm Vicky, nice to meet you." |
Hey Vickey I'm Chris. |
"Hey Sara!Come and sit next to me." |
Hello Vicky hello Chris ok! *goes and sits next to Vicky* |
When is class starting? |
*walks into the classroom and looks around* Umm...Did we have to take Lesson 1 to be in this class? |
Welcome class. Please take your seat and we will begin. Turn your Transfiguration books to page 32 and read the first three paragraphs. Then get out your wands and select an everyday item from the shelf over there. |
maybe, maybe not. lol were having a review don't worry. |
*opens her book and starts reading* |
*sara takes out her book and turns to page 32 and begins to read the first three paragraphs* |
Okay that's good. The review should be helpful. *takes a seat behind Vicky* |
takse a seat opens her book and starts reading |
*takes out her wand* "What do we do now professor?" |
hey sunstar, I haven't heard from you in a while |
*turns her book to page 32 and starts reading* *pulls out her wand after she's done* |
shuts her book gets out her wand and look at Tidus16 and smiles yeah i havent been around much have I sorry I've been bogged down with work, how are you? |
*is done reading the three paragraphs on page 32 and rummages in her book bag for her wand and sets it on her desk and then waits quietly* |
I'm fine, been having lots of fun.* takes out wand and book* |
What next Professor? |
tell you what if we have to get into pairs, i will pair with you. yeah? |
You should have all turned your homework in and i have graded it. Several of you need to read the assignments carefully before handing in your homework. So please try to work on that for next time. Alright then class, if everyone's finished reading? We'll be discussing the Covadis Charm first. If you'll all take your wands and do the following movements please. Swishes wand to the left and brings it down to tap on a notebook lying on her desk. Tap it only once but you must concentrate very hard or your object will stay exactly the same. Now practice a few times and then we'll try it with the Incantation. Remember this is only practice. It won't work without the incantation. |
great, look forward to it. |
*picks up her wand and practices the wand movements* |
*Picks up wand and begins the movements and concetrates really hard.* |
great  goes and gets two goblets on for her and one for Tidus16 there you go lets practice Swishes wand to the left and brings it down to tap the side of the goblet hard and nocks it over  I'll try tapping the top this time trys again this time tapping the top |
Concentrates very hard and then swishes wand to the left and brings it down to a tap. |
*starts practicing* |
Walks around room to check on progress. Good job. Now then. The Covadis Charm is used to transfigure everyday items into other items. Might seem a trivial lesson but let me assure you it can come in handy for almost any situation from needing a pen in a jiffy to concealing the true nature of an object you don't want seen. The proper incantation is Corvadium. Concentrate, recite it, and complete the wand movement. |
* practices the incantation with the movements.*Cor-va-dium,Cor-va-dium |
*picks up wand and brings it down with a tap onto a book, but nothing happens... then smacks her forhead. she tries again but remembers the incantaion* |
conectrate Swishes her wand to the left and brings it down to tap the goblet hard on the top Corvadium |
Oh dear me!!! The incantation is Covadium not corvadium. We wouldn't want to transfigure out objects into clams! So sorry students. So sorry. |
"Ok I can do it.........Corvadium" *nothing happened* |
Concentrates very hard and then swishes wand to the left and brings it down to a tap and then says Corvadium |
*Concentraits and swishes wand to the left and brings it down to tap the side of his quill and says* Covadium |
umm... are we supposed to be doing this on a object? |
Gently sunstar, gently tap. Yes keep trying there dear. Once more. Covadium. |
 that explains a lot conectrate Swishes her wand to the left and brings it down to tap the goblet gentally on the top Covadium |
that explains why my book is now a clam! * picks up wand to try again... swish, tap, Covadium,... * cool its a book again |
Miss Watson, please pay attention to what I asked you to do at the beginning of class. You should have read your chapter then gotten an everyday object from the shelf over there. |
"Oh, it's ok professor we'll try again..........Covadium" *nothing happened* "What am I not doing right professor?" |
Very good Tidus. Now then most of your objects should have been turned into regular notebooks. Now if you want to change it into something else, simply concentrate hard, think very clearly about what object you wish it to be, recite the incantation and do the wand movements. |
*tries again* Covadium whoa, yay I now have a notebook to put my evil plots in. |
*swish, tap, Covadium,... from book to nothing.. lets try again.. |
*tries again and gets a goblet of water* |
Levels a sharp eye at Tidus Transfiguration is not a skill I teach you to use for that kind of purpose, Tidus. Now then Harry-Ron...(so please give me a regular name to call you) your incantation was correct but your wand movement needs work. Try again dear. |
*does again ecept this time he's concentrating on parchment* Covadium. This is really fun. * notebook turns into a single sheet of parchment* Sorry proffeser |
"Sorry." gets up and gets an everyday object from the shelf and does the movements and says Covadium and the everyday object turns into worm. |
I have a note book... aquill would be handy conectrate hard on a quill. Swishes her wand to the left and brings it down to tap the goblet gentally on the top Covadium a purple quill appears in front of her |
"Thank you for the help professor, you can call me Vicky." Ok now concentrate.........I want a pen........... "Covadium!Hey!It worked, I have a pen!" |
Sarah dear, concentrate on what you want your object to become. One more time now. Now then, you can continue to change your object with the Covadis Charm into random things but when you're ready to transfigure it back into its original form. Tap it Gently! Twice on the top and repeat the incantation Baltenis. This spell is also useful when you've forgotten what the true form of an object really is. |
I'm confused am i doing this right? |
Returns Miss Watson's worm back to an object. Concentrate now dear. You must think clearly and recite the incantation properly. Covadium does not transfigure objects into animals. That is our next Spell we'll be practicing. Trengaris. |
*Taps the parchment twice, gently and says* Baltenis, this is easy |
concentrates on on what she needs...a quill and then does the movements and says Covadium. |
the everyday object turns into a quill. Yay! i did it. |
Much better Miss Watson! smiles Alright now class, let's see you attempt the Baltenis Spell to reverse it. Drifts between the desks checking work. Very good, good. Excellent. |
taps the Quill twice Baltenis turns back to a goblet that was a nice quill |
* taps the water goblet twice and says baltenis and nothing happens. tries again thinking very hard about the book and then it changes back into a book* cool I did it! |
"Well, let's try this one. One, two....Balentis!" *the pen turned into a notebook again* |
*concentrates hard on the quill to change it back to the everyday object and taps it twice* Baltenis the quill turn into the everyday object again... i think i am getting the hang of this  |
Quote:
You said the incantion wrong it is Baltenis. |
"Oups!*laughs*Ok then....one, two.......Baltenis!" |
Thank you Vicky your doing good too! |
* Covadium.. quil...Baltenis.. book* this is very entertaining and helpful to know if I ever forget a quil or parchment |
Miss can we turn the object back into things after we turned them back |
Overhears Miss Watson, thank you. 5 points to your house for helping out. Now then if everyone has had a chance to complete both Covadis Charms and Baltenis Spells then we will move on to a more complex spell called Trengaris. This spell is used for transforming objects into animals. It is a spell not often used but at times it does come in handy. Can anyone tell me what this spell could be used for? |
Covadium goblet turns to a quill as she takes quick notes on the lesson so far Baltenis It turns back to a goblet. she thinks hard but gets nowhere could you turn objects into owls for owl post |
"Well, if the supermarket is not open and we want to cook chicken, we can just turn a notebook into a chicken." |
Maybe if you were being attacked by one animal you could turn something into another animal to protect you? Could you do that professor? |
Sunstar, yes you can reuse this spell on any object as often as needed. Be warned though that the Professors have ways of checking on items to be sure they aren't against school rules. Such as using it to disguise note passing during classes. smiles Vicky, no dear. The Trengaris spell is not a long lasting one. The ideal use for it would be for teaching. Say someone is thinking of a certain animal they would like to purchase and needs to describe it to the clerk in Magical Menagerie or for this class here. If you forgot your animal you could transfigure a temporary one for use in class. Or in the common rooms or Library to work on your homework. Sarah, possibly but there are other spells quite useful for protection. This spell is mainly for transfiguring objects into small animals. 2 points for each of you that answered. |
Smiles thank you professor |
a spell for the forgetfull, sound like my kinda spell  |
Professor do we use the Baltenis spell to undo this spell as well.. askes sarah as the book that is now a fish flops around on her desk |
"Did I get 2 points too professor?" |
Now then. If you have all completed the Baltenis Spell and turned your object back to its original form, we will use it to practice the Trengaris Spell. Pay very close attention to this spell. The spell lasts only an hour but do take care to treat your newly transformed animal with care. The wand movements are: swish down, tap twice and flick. The incantation is Trengarium. Concentrate on what animal you want. Animals should be no bigger than small creatures such as otters, or birds and you should really start out with animals like mice, rats, toads and the like. |
*thinks* "that spell is a hard one, Professor!" |
Sarah, please don't skip ahead in the chapters. Stay with the class. transfigures her fish back into a notebook. Yes vicky dear, you recieved two points. As did sunstar and sarah for answering. |
swishes her wand downward, tape the goble twice and flicks her wand and concentrating on hamsters says Trengarium a small chinese dwarf hamster appears on the table how cute, look up, thankyou miss |
Quickly Sarah turns a piece of parchment into a water goblet ... *Professor can I change this back or should I watch for when it changes back to get my book out of the water?* asks Sarah with the fish in her hands ready to drop it in the water. |
concentrates on a frog and does the movements:swish down, tap twice, and flick then says Trengarium. the quill turns into a frog. yay i did it! |
"hmmm.." *swish down and flick* "oops" *trys again* *swish down, tap twice, flick* "Trengarium" *turns it into a robin * |
Oh sorry Sarah. Start with your original object. Very good Miss Watson, sunstar. walks around to check on class's progress |
Professor Can we play with the creatures ? |
Concentrate, concentrate...I need a frog, a small cute frog.... "Ok...one, two....Trengarium!" *the notebook turned into a frog which jumped on her hair* "OMG!Take this thing off me!" |
This is easy. thinks about a mouse and swishes down, then taps quilltwice and says Trengarium. *quill turns into a white mouse* easy as pie. |
Levitates frog off Vicky's head. Calm down dear. And yes Miss sunstar, you may play with them while the class catches up. |
Quote:
Good Job Vicky. |
This class is easy. Prof.Dyreth how do we change them back. |
"Thank you so much professor. Why did I turned the notebook into a frog?I knew I've always hated frogs!" |

Karen joins the class and puts up her hand and askes "Please professor explain what we are doing for me please" puts her hand down looking sheepish |
