If you had a normal student try the Curcatious Curse on someone, they'd probably do nothing. But an evil wizard who has evil intentions? That'd inflict lots of damage." |

Augureycry, five points to Slytherin... because you are absolutely right. There is a very fine line between Dark and acceptable magic, and a lot of what makes a spell dark is intent. Of course, there are some spells that are entirely dark and have no redeeming purposes.
Anyone? Can you name one please?"

"Proffessor, are we going to be learning any 'dark' spells this year? Not for use of course, but I think the theory behind some of them might help. Besides, we should know what we're going up against, shouldn't we?" |

"Crucio," said Peony. "That is despicable, and was probably cooked up by some half baked sadist.

But again, charms it's almost every spell! Even the words Charm means manipulating people and items, which isn't quite an altruist thing to do.
Peony told something of the likes too, and I completely agree. The same with morality, It's almost impossible to tell a good from a bad action, an egoistical from an altruist, etc.
The unforgivables: Imperio, Crucio, Aveda Kedabra

Peony raised her hand again. "I'd like to contest the Avada Kedavra. It is totally painless, and a quick way of killing, before, it was probably used for hunting deer and ensuring them a fast, easy death. But then people started getting ideas."

Almost all the spells can be used the wrong way, Anthony said. It's not always the spell that's bad...it's how you use it.
