"Pogrebins! I knew that!" Katie says to herself under her breath.

Dracnyzz 03-19-2004 03:34 AM

"...........right, werewolves." Thyra copies it down, not looking very pleased.

QUOTE (Arkee Maldemer @ Mar 18 2004, 09:01 PM)
"What about vampires? You can't tell me blood-suckers aren't susceptible to darkness."*

"They're people still, aren't they?" Ashlie asked.

"Actually I think the Ministry classifies them as non-humans, just like werewolves." said Skiving.

"And that's wrong," said Peony violently. "They're still humans. They can't help it if they've got some sort of defect in their character that makes them drink blood or morph under moonlight. It's wrong to call them Non-humans just because of that. Human is when you have feelings, intelligent feelings, not just fear, but depression, and worry. It's so stupid to classify them as Non-humans! Why doesn't the ministry just destroy them all, and that's that? Why is it just because a centaur has four legs he is classified a Non-Human? If they have human intelligence, then they're human."

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 03:35 AM

"Coping list!" ANd then Sakura kura copies the list (lol)

augureycry 03-19-2004 03:35 AM

::raises hand::

"Professor, Should werewolves really be considered in that listing? I mean, they're just regular human being 96 percent of the time. And when they are in transformation they can't control themselves unless they are under the influence of the Wolfsbane potion, and that isn't widely available."

Meandering 03-19-2004 03:36 AM

Peony copied the list down, making sure she didn't smear the ink.

"Centaurs are non-human, I'm sure of that one. Besides, they'd shoot you full of arrows if you tried to call them human."

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 03:36 AM

" I agree with Meandering, that was very very well put! I'm glad you know what you're talking about!"

soocccccccccer 03-19-2004 03:36 AM

starts copying down the list, then starts talking with the fellow gryffidors.

"I agree, peony. But, we're not in the Ministry yet, are we? They think that a non-human is anything unlike us. Humans." She shrugged irritably.

dttfminb 03-19-2004 03:36 AM

Why isn't lethifolds on the list? Aren't they dark?

FnG_rawkMYxworld 03-19-2004 03:37 AM

*laughs*

"Good point Arkee Maldemer!"

"Precisely, they'd shoot you full of arrows if you called then human! They have such a low opinion of us," said Peony. "It's nothing to be proud of, we should be ashamed!"

"The commonly held list of dark creatures is as follows. I suggest you write it down.
Grindylows
Kappas
Red Caps
Vampires
Werewolves
Boggarts
Dementors
Banshees
Hinkypunks
Pogrebin

Banshees?? But they are supposed to be the messagers to tell the families when one of their members is about to die, it shoudn't be a dark beast? And werewolves? They are vicious towards humans but... sorry, I don't understand...

And the Kelpie and Lethifold??? They surely Has to have a dark definition!

augureycry 03-19-2004 03:38 AM

"I agree with Arkee, only those creatures with human intelligence that wish to be called humans should be considered human. I mean, to a centaur the human race is beneath them, it would be a mortal insult."

Arkee Maldemer 03-19-2004 03:39 AM

"This is what I think. 'Non-human' doesn't mean devoid of feelings, incapable of love, evil, or sub-intelligent. It just means not **** Sapiens. Which Centaurs are not, but Werewolves are (most of the time). I put no connotations to the word 'human' other than the species."

Yeah, what's wrong with lethifolds? Don't they kill you? I thought they had a 5 star rating in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Hermione_loves_Ron 03-19-2004 03:39 AM

"Dark doesn't necessarily mean bad or evil."

FnG_rawkMYxworld 03-19-2004 03:39 AM

"Its not our fault, centure are one minded, strat talking about anything they do not agree with they'll blow up on you, well, most of them anyways."

augureycry 03-19-2004 03:40 AM

"Yeah, and lethifolds are repelled by good feelings, patronuses, wouldn't that make them dark? "

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 03:40 AM

"Maybe it's not so much as to weither or not they should be classified as Human or not, maybe it's just they should be considered 'smart' or 'intelegient' because they're obviously not actually humans, but hold human inteligence, i hope that makes sense..." Sakura says

dttfminb 03-19-2004 03:41 AM

Can we have another question please? This is fun

Well, werewolves have human intelligence have they not? So are they humnas or non humans then?" Ashlie pointed out.

Arkee Maldemer 03-19-2004 03:42 AM

"I think, for the most part, we are the ones who would make an evil creature out of one that is sometimes irreconcilibly different. It's our job to be diplomatic and allow the differences while understanding and accepting them. There's nothing more to do but that."
