"Banshees aren't dangerous- it's their cry you want to watch out for. It means a member of your family will die."

Dracnyzz 03-19-2004 03:24 AM

"And giants can be, for they often move over to the dark side."

For the ministry of magic, using a dementor seems kid of. harsh ya know? I mean these people are like the president of today they're supposed to be role models. Taking peopl's souls whether good or bad seems unacceptable to me.

In My last post I covered fairly good all dark creatures I believe, but I think there’s a difference between Dark Creature and only a vicious one, like the harpies; I don’t think they are dark at all

coolant661 03-19-2004 03:26 AM

Could spiders be dark? Or Devil Snares? Anthony asked enthusiastically.

"And giants can be, for they often move over to the dark side."
"But you just contradicted yourself. "fi they go to the dark side." First they'd have to choose that. So that's not techinally being a dakr cretaure."

Arkee Maldemer 03-19-2004 03:27 AM

"What about vampires? You can't tell me blood-suckers aren't susceptible to darkness."

"Spiders are just regular creatures. The Devils snare is a plant," Ashlie pointed out.

augureycry 03-19-2004 03:27 AM

"Quite frankly, spiders in general are evil in my opinion."

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 03:27 AM

"I don't want to be rude Proffessior, but when is this class over?"

FnG_rawkMYxworld 03-19-2004 03:28 AM

"Ya, were basically naming off creatures we would never want to see.... like a banshee." Katie said, feeling sure of herself.
"they arent all dark, but they all are bad."

"They're people still, aren't they?" Ashlie asked.

coolant661 03-19-2004 03:29 AM

Yea so isn't Devil Snare plants human flesh eaters which make them automattically bad? Anthony inquired.

Hermione_loves_Ron 03-19-2004 03:29 AM

"Yes, but I still think a boggart is considered Dark. Not evil, but Dark."

FnG_rawkMYxworld 03-19-2004 03:30 AM

"But are their any true dark creatures, Professor?

Cassirin 03-19-2004 03:31 AM

"Wonderful suggestions... I"m giving 5 points each to..." she checks her list. "Meandering, Ashlie, quidditch_chick, Nadia, and Arkee. For a total of 15 points to Ravenclaw, 5 to Slytherin, and 5 to Hufflepuff.

"For the most part, the creatures that are considered to be dark aren't just those that are considered to be dangerous. A dragon may be VERY deadly, but it isn't dark. It is deadly because that is its nature and its way of survival. It doesn't maim and kill out of evil intent. A Red Cap on the other hand, will lure an innocent bystander to his or her death not to survive, but out of malice. Do you see the distinction?

"The commonly held list of dark creatures is as follows. I suggest you write it down.
Grindylows
Kappas
Red Caps
Vampires
Werewolves
Boggarts
Dementors
Banshees
Hinkypunks
Pogrebin

dttfminb 03-19-2004 03:32 AM

Profssor? are you there? lol :hello:

augureycry 03-19-2004 03:32 AM

"I think the question to the Devil's Snare is 'can a plant have an evil intention?' After all, eating fleash, human or not, is how it survives. Same goes for vampires, if they don't drink blood they'll die."

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 03:33 AM

"Wow proffesior, your so smart!"

Hermione_loves_Ron 03-19-2004 03:33 AM

Ashlie beams. She had suddenly found her interest in the DADA. "Yes the plant can," Ashlie said. "I'm sure of it. But i dont think it has a choice."

Sђỡỡting٭Sŧα 03-19-2004 03:34 AM

She quickly picks up her quill and begins writting the dark creatures down.

dttfminb 03-19-2004 03:34 AM

That was fun! *exclaimed excitedly* Can we have another question?

Hermione_loves_Ron 03-19-2004 03:34 AM

Ashlie copies down the list quickly, making sure it was accurate.

mysticjade5 03-19-2004 03:34 AM

*takes down list of creatures*
