"To be prepaired for the future?"

Arkee Maldemer 03-19-2004 02:40 AM

"Because the Dark Arts will always be present, and there will always be times when we need to defend ourselves against it?" answered Arkee uncertainly.

That_Potter_Chick 03-19-2004 02:40 AM

*raises hand* To protect ourselves!

"Why do you think we need to learn about defense against the Dark Arts?"

So we are able to protect ourselves against the Dark foreces.

MonkeyBJr 03-19-2004 02:40 AM

I think we should learn about DADA because if we don't know it, we'd be in trouble if it ever came up sometime when we're out of school all by ourselves.

*raise hand* To defend ourselves from tha danger from ohter magical creatures, and specially of those considered *dark*

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 02:41 AM

"I think every one is right, since it's personal opinion" Sakura kura says quitely

quidditch_chick 03-19-2004 02:41 AM

"To no only learn how to defend ourselves but what we need to defend ourselves from."

"But not all magical creatures are inherently dark, right? They're not all out to get us people."

"I agree"

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 02:43 AM

"I agree as well"

Moony521 03-19-2004 02:43 AM

*raise hand*"To know about the danger of the wizarding world and know how to defend ourselves against it"

"I agree"

Dawn Bloom 03-19-2004 02:44 AM

I think we need it because some time or another we will be in peril and will definetly need it.

Padfoot521 03-19-2004 02:44 AM

I think that we need to learn DADA because if the time arrose where you had to defend youself you need to know how and what other tings you may need to defend yourself against. It is better to be safe that sorry.

TrickC 03-19-2004 02:45 AM

i agree with everyone!

She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho! 03-19-2004 02:45 AM

*raie hand again* Also to practice defensive-offensive kind of magic, better known as *anti-hexes*, which some authors consider another word for hexes too... it wouldn't be wrong to consider it that way, after all *anti-hexes* aren't but hexes used for defensive situation, but are hexes all the same, and even the *anti-hex* idea come from an ideology like "the one who started is the real responsible" while those fighting back are doing harm as well... " Nadia wonders.

augureycry 03-19-2004 02:45 AM

::Riley takes a look at how many students seem so eager to learn defense, then again, it wasn't unfounded was it? She is seated by her fellow Slytherins and sends a smirk to the Gryffindor side of the room.::

Moony521 03-19-2004 02:46 AM

"all of us are right I think"

~Slytherin_Heir~ 03-19-2004 02:46 AM

:laughs at rileys actions:

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 02:47 AM

"Every one sounds so smart in this class...I'm only first year! I need to learn!"

Padfoot521 03-19-2004 02:47 AM

I agree with every one also!

Cassirin 03-19-2004 02:47 AM

Professor Rae raised her hands to silence the class and gave a loud laugh. "Wow... that was overwhelming. Obviously you all have an opinion about why a class such as this is necessary. I heard a lot of variations on the same idea... we don't know what will cross our path, and we need to be prepared. Unfortunately, there IS Dark Magic in the world, and it doesn't just happen to those who are prepared. We at Hogwarts want to send our students out there ready for as much as possible.

Now... and please, I want thoughtful answers. Don't just blurt something out... let's try to form a general definition so we are all on the same page. What are "Dark Arts?" What does that term even mean?"

Meandering 03-19-2004 02:48 AM

Peony raised her hand. "Magick is neither black nor white and it can never be categorized into those two. Dark Arts is magic used to hurt someone. Even a charm like Wingardium Leviosa could be termed as Dark Arts if someone used to to levitate his enemy right off a cliff."

Sakura_kura 03-19-2004 02:48 AM

"To be evil or be driven to do somthing wrongful-like hurting people"

TeamDuskurk 03-19-2004 02:48 AM

The Dark Arts are a form of magic used to harm others.
