| | Professor Rae unlocks her classroom door and sighs. She really disliked having to lock the door, preferring to leave the classroom open for the students to practice in. However, she was uncomfortable leaving it open with so many strangers about. She entered the classroom and shuffled a few papers around before settling behind her desk. |

| Typo Mistress Raven walks towards Nadia side and then smiles at her frog that crooks in pain. She turns towards Nadia holding her potion. Raven then towards the professor to find out what is going to happen next. |

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee Quote: Considering the size of dragons and giants, does the Conjunctivitis Curse work as well on them as it does on say another wizard? How long does the spell last? I mean is it necessary to use a counter curse to remove its effects? That's a good question, Mrs. Weasley. The normal virus probably wouldn't affect non-humans, but this is a spell... therefore, it creates the equivalent in its host. However, once the spell has acted, it leaves behind an actual disease: Conjuntivitis (aka Pink Eye). So, the spell would dissipate as the disease would, usually with medication and eyedrops to help. There are countercurses that would assist in healing it faster. I'm not going to tell you more about that now, because that will be part of your homework. Quote: Professor, isn't this hurting the frogs? Is there some kind of potion we could give them to make it less....grisly? Anhaire, of course there is some pain to the frogs, but I promised them a lovely retirement if they put up with this. And, on the bright side, they aren't participating in a Muggle science class, which would be much worse by far. I've already brewed their antidotes, so please don't worry. Quote: Would you say a potion for human, wizards, would have the same effect on animals? Also, from a scale of 0 to 10, how dangerous, and illegal, would you say this curse is? Why is it called a *curse* and not a 'hex'? Potions are different from spells in that they interact directly with your body systems. You would have to speak to Professor Airlia about this particular potion; in fact, I would offer 5 points to the first person who could bring us an answer back to my office. On a scale of 0 to 10, I would say this curse is really only a mild 3 or 4. It is annoying and can incapacitate you, but in and of itself, it isn't that deadly. It also isn't illegal, although there are always statutes in place that forbid public cursings for no good reason. It is called a curse, however, because it is more serious than say a Stinging Hex that has a very temporary and nearly harmless effect.
Alright, are there any other questions? Please continue to try the curse out on your frog. If you are finished successfully, feel free to retrieve a vial of antidote from my desk. A few drops should take care of it. When the puffiness recedes, you may try again.

"May I go ask Airlia then? ^^"

"Potters_girl, make sure you have applied the antidote to the eyes. It works most quickly if it goes right on the membranes that are affected. Don't bother taking any of this antidote yourself... it is useless on humans."

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee "Well, if there are no more questions, I think that we shall call it a day. Please, feel free to take your frog with you to practice if you struggled in class. I expect all of these frogs to return to me by next class... in fact, I've put a homing charm on them. If you take a frog, please take enough antidote."
"For your homework, I would like you to 1) Tell me about your progress in using the curse, 2) Describe for me what occurs when the curse is used, and 3) Research possible antidotes, etc. to be used upon the Conjunctivitis caused by the curse. The homework assignment is a little more challenging, so it will be worth 15 points. I expect it a week from today."

After giving the antidote to her frog she copies down the homework and puts everything back in her bag and gets ready to leave.
"Bye Professor!"

Here -*panting* A little late but here's Airllia's answer: Quote: yes you can use a potion for a human/wizard on an animal and it will have the same efect. However, you must use extreme caution as you need to scale the dosage to reflect the size of the creature you are treating. Also, some magical creatures can be ill affected by certain potions so you want to be sure you are well versed in a creature's peculiarities before administering a potion brewed for human/wizard use.
