"It might hurt them a bit, but it is less likely to react on them in the same way it would on a larger, more complex animal. Plus, there aren't many animal rights groups in the Wizarding World... I would have thought you'd notice that by now," Professor Rae grins.

"Alright, the spell is Conjunctiva. You need to make a sort of x-shaped sweep with your wand. Please watch me." She demonstrated it once. "Now, please try it on your frogs and see what happens. I would like to remind you that there is NO chatting in class."

(Jessie pull sup her sleeves.) Really sorry about this, Goyle old buddy...

(Jessie waves her arm in X-fashion. She looks away as Goyle the frog feels the effects of the curse.)

Raven looked at her frog and slightly said sorry to it. She pointed her wand and then made a very simular sweep with her wand as to how the professor showed it. "Conjunctiva" She yelled and the frog eyes shut and he opened his mouth. "I am so sorry Gollum (frog name)". Raven put her wand on the frog and said a relaxing charm so it would num the hurt and then went back to work.

She focused more than ever and then said: "Conjunctiva" and she smiled. The frog jerked and went calm again.

i think it worked professor. my frog is going crazy. what is it supposed to do exactly? it wont hurt them bad will it?

*Nadia smiles at Jessie comment, remembering that Leggy is just the name of a friend of hers - have to choke a laugh.

She looks the frong in her table in the eye.

Nadia sighs at Professor Rae's words. Well, there should be... she thinks.

She tries doing the x-shapped sweep and, "Conjunctiva!"

Nothing...

Again she tries - stops in mid movement*

"Professor, do we speak the curse while we do the whole movement or do we chant it only at the end -- Could you demostrate it for us again?"

"You should notice a bit of swelling and that the eyes seem to be unable to open sufficiently. The purpose of this spell is to blind and confuse so that you can escape. It is not intended that you stay and fight after casting it."

Professor Rae drew her wand. "Watch again. Say 'Conjunctiva' during the second downward sweep of the X."

Raven looks at her frog who seems to be better and then she pulls out her wand and then makes a X pattern and then yells "Conjunctiva" the frogs eyes swell and the frog looks bloated around the head. Raven shrieks with joy of doing it but afraid the froggy will explode. she quickly walks back and sits down looking at the frog scream and yelp for help.

*Nadia shudders at the others' proceddings.

Takes deep breath...*

*the eyes of the frog reddens and swells a little but the frog doesn't make as mch soon as Nadia expected*

This is so against what I believe in... *she whispers to herself, she considers taking some healing potion and give it to the little frog.*

*looks at his frog menecengling* hehehe*makes and x shaped movement with his wand and says Conjuntiva* ahahhahaha *notices his frog trying to open it's eyes*

Mrs. Weasley gets herself a frog and proceeds to perform the spell. She makes an x-shaped sweep with her wand and says Conjunctiva. The frogs eyes begin to swell, and he has trouble opening them. She notices the skin around the eyes does not turn pink-a definite sign of confunctivitis in humans hence the nickname pink eye. Professor, I have two questions. Considering the size of dragons and giants, does the Conjunctivitis Curse work as well on them as it does on say another wizard? How long does the spell last? I mean is it necessary to use a counter curse to remove its effects?

*Kirstie watches the others performing the jinx for a while, then practises the wand movements. When she feels she has the movemnts under control, she performs the x sweep and says 'conjunctiva'. her Frog proceeds to bump into the wall*

Conjuctiva! *Frogger's eyes swell up considerably* sweet lol. Professor, I know that this spell is temporary, but is there a reversal spell in case a witch or wizard was hit by it?

*waits for other classmates to finish*

"Conjunctiva," she says, trying hard to do the wand movement correctly. The frog starts to look like someone who's been stung by a bee and is allergic to bee stings.

Aiden returns to his desk with the frog and sets it down on the desk. He lowers his head and mutters to himself for a few seconds before returning his attention to the animal in front of him. Slowly, in time with a rythmic breathing, he practices the wand motion in the air a few times. Each iteration gets progressivly faster until finally, moving at a normal pace he completes the spell "Conjunctiva!"

The frog's eyes slowly grow red and puffy while mucus begins to seep from the corners and fill the eyes up as the frog begins to squirm. Aiden quickly grabs hold of the frog to hold it still

"Not sure if this will work" he mutters to himself as he takes his wand and taps outside the frog's right eye, saying "Hwa," left eye "In," and finally between the eyes Go-chi.

Little by little the puffiness seems to wax and wane as Aiden gently wipes away the drying mucus, in hopes that it will completely fade. In a few minutes the frog is almost back to normal, with the mucus gone, and the puffiness and redness almost gone.

"Well, not as well as it would work on a person, but that's expected since it was a frog, I guess..." He half mutters to himself as he sets the frog down and prepares to practice again.

"Sorry," she says to the frog in front of her.

"Conjunctiva!" she says while making the X-motion with her wand.

Nothing happens.

"Hmmm... I'll try that again...."


"Conjunctiva!" she says again while making the X-motion.

The frog's eyes start to swell and get red and puffy.

"Ick.. .Wouldn't want that to happen to me."


OCC: Oh yeahh. Real great. 'Specially since we dissected frogs in Biology today.

*raises hand*
Professor, isn't this hurting the frogs? Is there some kind of potion we could give them to make it less....grisly?

*When about to practice again Nadia stops - she dives for her bag and take out a vial with potion, healing potion. She unbottles it when turning to the professor.*

Professor, always been curious, though I'm not too sure you'll know... would you say a potion for human, wizards, would have the same effect on animals? For example this is one for curing illnesses; we learned how to do it in our first year - Loryen can tell you more about it. Do you think I would use it on the Frog?
Mmh, coming to think about it; would it help a magically-produced conjunctivitis like this on a human being too?

*She rests the hand with the potion in the table.*

Also, from a scale of 0 to 10, how dangerous, and illegal, would you say this curse is? Why is it called a *curse* and not a 'hex'?
