Um.. do giants it vegetables?

I would assume that giants are mostly carnivores. First of all, our vegetables would be so small that it would take quite a few to fill them up (unless of course, they eat trees). Secondly, the reason that humans have developed advanced cranial capacity and thinking ability is due to the fact that we began to eat meat during our "cave man" days. The proteins and other nutrients in meat allowed for evolutionary development of our brains. It stands to reason that the same thing would be true for giants, since they have their own language, culture, etc.

Of course I could be completely wrong. We'll have to ask the professor later.

Out of curiosity, what defensive spells would you use to well defend yourself if you were attacked. I have heard that some have survived by using I *think* Petrificus totalus, and a Confundus (Sp??) Charm or teh Conjunctivitis Curse. But would you use these spells?

"Aixla, that's an excellent response. Giants are carnivores, although they are also smart enough to know that survival is survival. They will eat plants if no meat is to be found. I suppose they would eat humans if it was a matter of survival, but they really dislike the taste."

Is that an Unforgiven Curse or is it a spell to confuse people. If neither i am just guessing upon what i beleive

Conjunctivitis Curse? Doesn't it make you have conjunctivitis? Well, at least I knoe it blinds you, for a period of time, am I right?

Yes Nadia you are correct. In the book it specifficly states that the Conjunctivitis Curse Damgaes the eye by blinding for a period of time or cause pain to the eye.

If you preformed said "Conjunctivitis Curse" or any other highly dangerous curse on a witch or wizard and they defended themselves, what should the attacking witch do?

(Smiles for real) Don't worry, I would never intentionally lose house points. I love Slytherin with all my heart. I was just trying to add a bit of perspective (and a touch of humor) from the view of a witch who is... amused... with the Dark Arts.

If I'm not too mistaken the Conjunctivitis Curse it's also useful for fighting dragons - you know, as the eye of a dragon is its weak point. With a giant I don't know if it looks like a good idea -- I remember in the History of this place, Hogwarts I mean, that a giant was illegaly brought to the Forbidden Forest, was hurt in the eye by one of the centaurs' arrows and went mad, making a real mess...

I think anyone that was hit in the eyes would be upset and hurt... Though I have to admit, using a curse is the best way to do it.

This is weird. This classroom has become a Slytherin dueling areana. I don't get it. When you duel Jessie, Do you always try to hurt people.

Nadia is correct when she says it gives you conjunctivitis.... and thank you to Raven4Life for giving us exactly what that entails. Five points to Slytherin and Ravenclaw. The Conjunctivitis Curse causes severe eye irritation, as well as some swelling and mucus to bind the eye. It is almost impossible to see out of, as well as causing a lot of pain."

"Jessie, you actually cause me to bring up a good point. While we will be practicing this curse on the frogs, if I hear of any instances in which it is practiced on a human, I will be very unhappy. It will be grounds for the loss of house points, as well as possible detention."

"Now, if you could draw your wands and each come up and retrieve a frog."

Come on, now. I was just having a little fun. I suppose I don't try and hurt my opponent, but I'm not going to lay down and give up. If I'm dueling, I certainally want to win. Wouldn't you?

I didn't mean to disturb the lesson, and I'm sorry that I did. But, seriously, if you were attacked by someone with that curse and you defended yourself, you can bet that a seasoned wizard would be ready for you. Be practical. I just wanted to know what to expect and to throw a different view into this discussion.

Raven walks up towards the front to get a frog. Being that she is such a girly girl she tap the frog and floated the creature towards her desk. She then put a leg locker charm on the frog so it can't run and also put a silencing charm so it won't scream. She walked back and put a shield charm on her bdoy to be safe so no fool hits her with the spell.

She then turns to the frog that looks around scraed and tireldy and then she points her wand steadily and then yells " Con!!!! wait what is the spell professor?" Raven asked nicely.

*Nadia rolls her eyes at something in her mind and that only she alone can understand and steps to the front to take a frog.

"OK, and if we aren't allowed to put it on humans why would us put it on the frog? Won't it hurt them?" Nadia asks looking tired. "I mean, I feel bad, plus I don't think animal rights let this kind of thing happen to the poor beasts, at least not if it will hurt them..."

*gets a frog and returns to desk*

professor i have heard that this is a good spell to use against dragons and giants. but wouldnt they stomp around? they could kill you like that. is there a safer spell that is just as effective?
