Professor Rae unlocks the door to her classroom and slips quietly inside. She admires the straight lines of the desks, the clean blackboard, and the general orderliness of the classroom, knowing that it will soon be filled with curious, fidgety students. Both ways are pleasent enough.
She settles behind her desk, waiting for the students to arrive and get ready for class. | |

"There is no set amount of time. Some people pick it up very quickly, and some will never master the Patronus. Mine took me several sessions to really master. I had trouble picking a happy memory. Did that answer your question?"

"Most patronus's should have the same effect on every dementor, although I suspect that, as is true for wizards and witches, some dementors are stronger than others. Also, I believe that different Patronus's effect dementors differently because the castor differs in each occasion."

"Here goes... Expecto Patronum Expecto Patronum Expecto Patronum Expecto Patronum!" A large silvery mass shoots from her wand tip, a blurred outline can be made out, but just barely. The whisp dies away before she can get a clear shot at seeing it, but even so a large smile overtakes her features.
