*raise hand* Professor, that cannot be correct< that's the description for the Blasting curse. Plus I-m pretty sure the etymology comes from the word 'reduce' so the most probable indication is that the spells reduces things in size, to a smaller or smallest size... som times the object get's so little it evaporates on iar, I was told.

Well, the charms to make things smaller is reducio... but reducto actually blows the solid object away, therefore "reducing" it to it smallest parts or basal elements.

Mmh, I suppose you are right... Yes, you must be, that's the most logical explanation. But how that occurrs? Somewhat the preassure it makes on the object is such that it blast the things, you say?
Or... if it does just *blast* something, why isn't is called a blasting charm then? :/ I'm confused.
