| | |  The Office of Kalen Kennedy
Right next to the Astronomy classroom is Kalen's small private office, which he moved from inside the library. The walls are lined with bookshelves full of his own personal books. You'll notice several books on Latin, violin music and curiously even some old muggle fantasy books as well.
A large picture of the Cambridge Library sits on one of the bookshelves, as do his varying degrees. If one looks close enough you might see a picture of his family and a few students who looked familiar.
If Kalen is not at the Front desk he is in here seated in his high-backed leather chair. If you look around you may spot his two cats, Mr. Tumnus and Aslan laying on their own little beds, next to a violin case.
There are two comfy leather chairs for people to sit in on the other side of his desk.
Feel free to knock on the door and wait for him to open it and invite you in! | |

She'd exhausted the shelves of the library--the regular shelves anyway. In some way, she supposed she wasn't surprised...information like that wouldn't just be out in the open. Her next bet was checking a section....far less open and if that failed, outright asking her father to source the book and having it sent to her but that last option could take days or weeks and an in person search would take hours at most.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Jessa gave three taps at the door before taking a step back and waiting for a response. Having already been down in the library, she was fairly certain the man wasn't there so his office was her next guess. Merlin help her if he wasn't here either because she didn't thin she was prepared for much for walking in search of him.
Of course....as this was for a friend...she'd keep waling as needed, but it'd have still been nice if it wasn't needed.

He had just set his teacup down when he heard a knock on the door.
“Please come in! ”
The man was always surprised when students came to his office. He knew he wasn’t the most popular teacher around, cause let’s face it, he wasn’t nearly as cool as Hirsch was, or as kind and as wacky as Paul was.
Not to mention he knew he had big shoes to fill. He had heard of the Legend that was Airey Flamsteed. He could in no way measure up to all of that. So instead, he tried to be himself. Quiet and tea drinking..

Today....Mr. Kennedy....would not be the exception to that so the young girl remained standing just outside the door.
"Hello Mr. Kennedy." She said with a small wave. "I won't be keeping you long." Not when she could clearly see that he was busy with....er....papers? Homework? Other Astronomy related things? Didn't really matter, his business was his own and she was here for another matter entirely. "I think we can just cut to the chase. I'd like access to the Restricted Section. There's this book....I'm hoping I'll find in there and I figured you'd appreciate me asking rather than sneaking in." Not that he'd ever know but for the sake of courtesy and all.
"I've already exhausted the shelves of the regular library, so it might be my next best bet. Ideally, I could make time to search it this evening. Have some potions on a slow burner right now that won't require my attention for quite a few hours. Time's a real factor in finding this book though."
If was a matter of the utmost importance.

If was a matter of the utmost importance. Kalen’s eyebrow rose a bit as the door to his office was nudged open, and yet the person outside didn’t come in, just sort of stood oh the doorway. All right. He squinted a bit as he looked at Miss Cambridge and inclined his head at the “Mr. Kennedy” he had told her she could call him whatever she wanted, though lately he preferred Professor.
Ahh well.
“Hello Miss Cambridge.” He said as he folded his hands in front of him and gave the sixth year his full attention as she spoke. Ahh a book from the restricted section. Why wasn’t he surprised?
He turned his attention from her and then with a wave of his hand, unlocked his desk drawer and took out a small key on a black key ring.
“There is a new rule in place. Sixth and seventh years just need to ask for the key, and they can have full access to the restricted section without my hovering around.” He said as he tossed the key to her.
“Just please lock up and return the key by the morning hmm? And return the books to me when you are done.” He said with a smile at her. “Good luck finding what you need.” | |

What just....did it really......was it always....?
"Huh." Jessa caught the keys, hardly able to believe her ears. She could just GO? No questions? No need to explain her reason or topic of interest and no hovering? Had Christmas come early? Somehow, she must've slept through the term so far. Was the calendar in there saying December? What had she missed and who did she owe her gratitude for this wonderful change of heart?
"Err.......that's......wow, thanks." Her hesitation was obvious. Perhaps it wasn't Mr. Kennedy afterall but someone polyjuiced as him out to get students in trouble.
Whatever the case, she wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth so before he could change his mind, the Ravenclaw spun on her heels and started toward the library.

So Skylar had waffled back and forth on which staff member to ask for a Divination Foot reading but ultimately decided on Kalen Kennedy. Even though she was no longer dating his cousin, the Kennedys were a family she felt a kinship with and she trusted Kalen enough that this should hopefully be okay. Having already messaged him ahead of time, for a predisposed time and permission too, she arrived at his office ready to do the reading and leave.
The seventh year knocked on his office door, and waited.
