| | The Library Stretching out across a section of the common room sits a unique library of sorts. With floor to ceiling bookshelves, this mini library belongs strictly to Ravenclaw Tower and, as such, are as unique as its inhabitants. Books on your everyday subjects can be found here, with extra copies of textbooks placed in case anyone needs it. However, the library also holds many books on other, more unique subjects: books on lesser-known sports, arts and craft and even music sheets can be found here. After all, knowledge doesn't stop short at school subjects, does it?
What's particularly amazing to note about this library is what's in the bookshelves themselves. Some of these books have been passed down from older Ravenclaw students who don't need them anymore. Their notes and other wise words can still be seen etched into margins and crammed on spare pieces of parchment in the books themselves.
Near the library sits a few comfortable armchairs and sofas, each near their own little lamps for the person who wants to do a spot of midnight reading. |

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Not gonna lie, this might've been the first time she'd ever had someone set an appointment to have a conversation with her. It was...curious, to say the least.
To be entirely fair, it was smart of Chloe to tell her beforehand, because of her tendency to stay locked in her lab for long stretches of the day if left to it but the diary that seemed stock full of other appointments was being next level careful. Idly, Jessa considered the reasoning behind it--behind all those appointments. Was it a form of OCD the younger girl had developed in her time? A fascination? A habit? What could prompt a habit like that one into existence?
Now she had all these questions.
The Sixth Year deposited herself into one of the comfy chairs near the bookshelf, elbow resting against its arm while she read through a few of the titles. Graduation was right around the corner, she needed to get a move on reading some of these, or at the very least making note of the titles so she could get a copy once she was done with the castle.
The one on dragon breeding though...that one....that one was probably going to be a more immediate read.

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee Chloe curled up in the chair opposite Jessa and pulled out her planner again. It was becoming a bit of a security blanket, honestly, and she petted the shiny surface with absent-minded fingertips. Thank Merlin Jessa was willing to meet with her, since it was a weird ask, even for a prefect.
"Nice to see you." She lifted her chin in a mulish expression, then ruined it with a grin. "I'm working out my OWL study schedule. Will you look at it for me? Tell me if it's reasonable? I want to do well, and I'm not exactly... good at studying."

I want to do well, and I'm not exactly... good at studying." Oh right, she'd be tackling those OWLs this year too. Was it just her or was this a big year for most all her friends, save a few here and there? "Studying sucks, don't do it unless your memory's bad or you didn't learn correctly the first time." Or was that......not the kind of advice one looked for from a Prefect? It was TRUE but....probably still poor advice. "I can look it over for you, sure. Still early enough to come up with a good strategy." Jessa plucked the book from the shelf and tucked it under her arm so she wouldn't end up leaving it. "I suggest learning everything incredibly well the first go of it, then you won't need as much studying later and if you like some of what you're learning then find fun ways to keep doing it so it's like you never stopped studying without having to pick up a book."
Dreadful things those could be when they stopped talking about the things you actually liked. "Let's see it then." She coaxed, extending a hand for the schedule.

That... was sound advice, but very unhelpful for a student who wanted to do well but got distracted when subjects were kind of boring or when there was something interesting going on or when there was a butterfly sitting on the windowsill and she ended up watching it instead of listening to the professor. Chloe, by nature of being Chloe, needed to study because she hadn't learned it correctly the first time.
"That probably won't work for me, to be honest," Chloe shoved her schedule across to Jessa and sat back. Best get it over with and let the pro provide comment. "I learn the stuff I like extremely well, but the other stuff I need to spend time studying. Sometimes a lot of time."

"I learn the stuff I like extremely well, but the other stuff I need to spend time studying. Sometimes a lot of time." That wasn't too far outside the realm of expected. Most if not all people learned exceptionally well when it came to the things they were interested in while skimping on everything else. Jessa reached across and took the schedule, giving it a brief once over. How....extensive--though she was one to talk. Her own learning sessions tended to go all out. "Might wanna move the study times of the things you don't like to just after the class is done. That way, it's still fresh in your memory and if you weren't paying attention, it'll be fresh in the memory of your friends." Someone was bound to remember what just happened in the lesson. "Get rid of any times that you'd rather be doing something else. Like....if you like reading or napping or...." whatever it was Chloes liked to do, "something else in the evenings, then I wouldn't attempt study then. You'll just get distracted by anything and everything but your notes. It'll be a waste of time that you might as well had used for something else."
Man, just explaining this reminded her of how much she hated studying. It was a wonder anyone got it done. "OWLs aren't hard though, so I wouldn't stress too much about them. Save a ton of time for having fun too or just relaxing. If you get wound too tight you'll probably forget everything you wasted time studying." A waste only because it would then be forgotten in that scenario.

A waste only because it would then be forgotten in that scenario. Chloe caught her breath as Jessa reviewed her study schedule, and when the older girl didn't immediately tear it to pieces, she counted that as a win. It proved, at the very least, that Chloe could be trusted to prepare her own study schedule and take care of her own OWL prep.
And then she snapped into action when Jessa started talking, grabbing up her quill and jotting down every word the prefect spoke. Every. Single. Word. "That makes sense. Although there's always something I'd do rather than study, so I guess I'll just have to dedicate time for fun, time for naps, and time for books." Lots of time for naps.
"They can't be that easy, or everyone would pass with flying colors. You just say that because you're clever."

Sound advice or not, she hadn't expected the....enthusiasm with which Chloe suddenly sprang into action. That was....some real dedication right there. "That might work, yeah." She could certainly understand the forever wanting to be doing anything else thing. "I don't think I'm clever. I just think I'm good at wanting to know things--someone once told me I was clever because I knew a "big word" and I still haven't come to terms with it. Somehow, I thought there was more to being clever than reciting words I've seen at some point in my life." Kinda made it hard to really accept it as a compliment when it got thrown around so easily. "Someone else assumed I was clever because I was wearing my Ravenclaw uniform. People are strange."
Strange was...a nice way of putting it. "When will you actually start studying?" It was still only the start or term. Merlin she was planning to enjoy some of it first, yeah?

Jessa didn't think she was clever? Chloe knew the older girl was clever, and not because she knew big words or wore blue, but because she knew how to do things and knew about people and could get things done. But lots of people couldn't see themselves very clearly. "I think you're clever, and you'll have to work very hard to convince me otherwise."
She finished jotting her notes from Jessa, all the suggestions on how to make her studying more effective. The planner went back into her bag, and Chloe curled up like a cat in her chair, pillowing her head on her arms. "I'm already started, honestly. Not anything crazy, but I don't want to get behind. It's impossible to catch up once you do."

It's impossible to catch up once you do." She cracked a smile at that, both amused and appreciative of the sentiment. "I don't think I'd even know how. Convincing someone you aren't clever may be as hard as convincing them that you are." Huh. An interesting thought now that it'd popped into her head. How did you convince someone you weren't clever if they'd already attributed it to you based on things you did. Clever was such a subjective compliment. Didn't people consider different things to be clever. "It's an interesting social experiment. I think I'll have a go at it. Might be a little harder repairing the image for myself. Animate a few dead things and suddenly you're a genius but it could be fun."
Re-inventing herself would be hard. She'd have to put proper thought into it and just like that her brain was already racing with ideas on how she could go about such an experiment. "You could help if you'd like." Afterall, one didn't create or dismantle an image on their own.
Oh, she'd already started. Well then. "You could have some of my notes if you'd like. I'll duplicate them. Some of it's pretty extensive so I doubt you'll need it but there's other stuff too."
