| | Pep Rally: The Food Buffet Feeling hungry after all the action? Need to take a load off? There are tables and chairs clustered all around where you can sit with your friends. But before you do, head up to the buffet and grab some refreshments.
Four separate food buffet tables have been set up for this pep rally, one with a red tablecloth, one with a yellow tablecloth, one with a blue tablecloth and one with a green tablecloth. Not only are the tablecloths colored to reflect the different houses, but so is the food! Each table has a selection of delicious eats in small finger-food sizes and a big menu on display to tell you exactly what your options are. There are vegan and vegetarian options, savory indulgences, hot and cold drinks, and flavorful desserts.
Feel free to mix and match and pick whatever you like from any table! You don't have to stick with only your house colors, it'll all blend together in your tummy after all! OOC: This event is open to multiple characters, not only your Hogwarts student. Characters played in this thread must be listed in your profile, and it should be clear when you are playing different characters by your purposeful usage of varying fonts, colours, etc. |

| Come out and play! Dem Carters | even 🕊🕊 have pride | | Expecto PAWtronum 🐈 | U-NA-GI Listening to people yammer on about Quidditch wasn't really Ronan's cup of tea, so he was sticking by the Food Buffet. Honestly, he wouldn't have come to this thing at all, but he felt like it was expected of him since he was Head Boy and all that. So he threw on a custom-made jersey (one with his last name on the back) with jeans and red sneakers and made his way down. Only to discover that a lot of others seemed to have the same thought about this whole thing he had. Well, he was the only one at the food buffet so far anyway.
Deciding to take advantage of having first dibs of the buffet, he filled his plate with some of the chicken wings, a macaroni & cheese cup and some red velvet cake, grabbing a lemonade for his drink. Once his plate was filled, he turned and chose a table towards the front, looking around for anyone he may have missed as he sat.

Once his plate was filled, he turned and chose a table towards the front, looking around for anyone he may have missed as he sat. Gravitating over towards the food table wasn't really a surprise for the Slytherin Captain because if there was one thing she was certain of after seventeen years it was that she did have an appetite. Naturally she made her way towards the green table, even if she REALLY wanted a mac and cheese cup right about now. With a sigh, she picked two of the vegan lettuce wraps and placed them on her plate, along with a hefty slice of the key lime pie and then turned to head towards a table to seat.
Ah, the Head Boy. Clad in a quidditch jersey too? "Carter. Nice jersey." Obviously she was wearing her number four quidditch one; she'd even washed it for the occasion. "Good to see you're still breathing from NEWT studies." Also, she felt kind of guilty because she hadn't really spoken much to him since that day he tried to help her with her patronus. Although she'd temporarily put that on the back burner as there had been more pressing issues lately.

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Having been a student and professor at Ilvermorny, Regina had been to plenty of pep rallies in her time. This one in particular, however, was different. She had never been a student at Hogwarts, so there were no ties to any House. Not to mention that she did prefer Quodpot over Quidditch, but that was a different matter entirely. But there were a few things that she always appreciated about pep rallies. Students being brought together and House and school spirit being shown with pride were at the top of her reasons for why she was in favour of them.
Another reason of hers is what brought the headmistress, glad in a shirt that featured the Hogwarts crest, to the food buffet that had been provided. Everyone, even headmistresses, had to eat. Of course, though, she did make a slight tangent before grabbing a plate for herself.
"Hello, Mr. Carter and Miss Diggory," the woman said to the two jersey-clad seventh years. "Anything from the buffet you'd recommend?"

With stomach growling, Emmalyn hurried to the food buffet to grab some grub before more festivities started. The smells were absolutely glorious and her mouth watered at the sight before her. The Hufflepuff table selections were by far the best. Grilled pineapple drizzled with caramel, mac and cheese cups, garlic bread, and mini-corn on the cobs piled high on her plate. She wanted to try all of the options.
With her plate piled high and a hot butterbeer in had, she headed off to find a place to sit and enjoy the bounty. The weather was absolute perfection and a cool spot on the grass was just the place to eat. "Would anyone like to join me and eat on the grass picnic style?"

She wasn't feeling the school spirit, surprise surprise.
It'd been ages since Jessa had last felt any sort of "spirit" but this was a school event which meant Prefect representation even if she DID think she'd have had a better time of it locked away in her lab. Hardly eager, the Ravenclaw waited until several students had already filed out to the event before herself heading down the stairs to join her school mates.
Equally unsurprising, she was avoiding the stage area. It was where all the action would happen. It would be the loudest area and as a result, the place that held the least amount of interest for her. "The red velvet looks good." She said in passing to the Headmistress who hadn't at all been talking to her but she'd been within earshot and was trying to be social. "Skylar, Ronan." Both got a nod of greeting as the 6th year grabbed herself a cup of blueberry lemonade from the blue table.
She hadn't found herself with much of an appetite today so most things at the tables were ignored but she did grab her own slice of red velvet to nibble on. "I'll join you." Jessa offered to the HUfflepuff nearby. It might not have been such a bad idea getting a table and separating from the majority of people who were over at the tables. It had to be the least overwhelming option if nothing else. "You guys can join us too if you'd like."

Caledon Roth The Leaky Cauldron | Professor and Snake boy up for grabs! :) Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Gaston wasn't sure what to make of pep rallies, to be honest. They didn't have them during his time at Beauxbatons (and even if they had, he was too shy to attend!), and he'd been too sad and outraged at the time to enjoy the pep rally for the final round of the IMPS competition a few years ago. This time around, he was all smiles as he appeared at the food buffet, wearing a simple red t-shirt under a black flannel with his gold lion pin affixed to the collar. He wanted to show house pride for his Lions without wearing a lot of bright, flashy colors that would make him stand out.
He spotted Ronan and Skylar on his way to grab a plate and beamed at the pair. "Hello, Mr. Carter, Miss Diggory," he greeted. Jessa and Emmalyn also received a warm smile from Gaston. "Hello, ladies!" After looking over the menus for a minute, he loaded his plate with some chicken wings, garlic bread, a couple of quiche bites, and a blue raspberry jelly for dessert. There was no way he'd eat that much, but he thought it only fair to sample at least one dish from each table. He picked up a hot chocolate and took a small sip. Mmm... just the right blend of sweet and spicy!
As he turned away to find a seat, he noticed Headmistress Hawthorne. "Hello, Regina," he said, greeting her with a smile and polite nod. "Have you tried the hot chocolate? It's delicious." FOOD! That was the only thing on Georg's mind right now. After all, a growing boy's got to eat, right? The green and silver-clad third year made a beeline for the buffet as fast as his legs could carry him, occasionally looking back to make sure he didn't knock anybody down in the process. Sorry, people!
He only slowed down when he saw the headmistress nearby. "Hello, Headmistress Hawthorne," he greeted, putting on his politest smile. Everybody else got a wave and a mumbled, "Hi, everybody" by way of a greeting. Not that he meant to be antisocial... he just felt shy talking to the older students, and almost everybody here was older than him.
Anyway, now that that was over, he could get back to more important matters... like deciding what food to try first. He frowned. Aw, man! Slytheirn got the wooooorst menu! Everything looked like those fancy finger foods Aunt Kati served at her boring parties, and there were way too many fruit and vegetable dishes. The only thing that interested him there was the key lime pie. After helping himself to a big slice, he made his rounds to the other tables, picking up some chicken wings, a macaroni and cheese cup, some chips and dip, a slice of red velvet cake, a hot butterbeer, and an ube doughnut. He had no idea what an ube was, but it was a doughnut so it had to be good!
Now he just had to find a place to sit...

The elegant Bloody Baron was not the type of ghost that would mourn the loss of being able to eat food. Chains rattled as he floated towards the gathered. “Good day everyone.’’ Mournful but keen transparent eyes swept the foods. The Baron was quite unwilling to let anyone see that he was missing the tastes. “I hope all the Slytherins are supporting their House to the maximum.’’ A look that said Or else was passed around to the nearby Slytherins.

As she looked for the perfect spot, she heard Jessa and used her head to wave her over, both hands full of food and drink. "It's nice over here. The more the merrier!" She then noticed Professor Marchand piling his plate high from each table. "You are welcome to join us as well, sir! It's a mighty fine day for a pep ralley. GO Hufflepuff!"
She took a seat and placed her plate, overflowing, in front of her and chose a mac and cheese cup to start with. The gooey cheesy cup was fantastic and reminded her of a cross between baked mac and cheese and a grilled cheese sandwich.
Waiting only long enough for her mouth to be able to speak around the noodles, she turned to Jessa, "So, who do you think will win the Quidditch cup? I'm, of course, rooting for Hufflepuff, but all of the teams are looking great this year."
Just as she finished her sentence, she caught sight of the Bloody Barron. "Oh, no, I hope he doesn't come over here. He kind of scares me."

Elegant and serene, Lady Helena floated along the buffet section of the pep rally. These things were of no interest to the lady, who would've loved to spend more time reading, but the eagles of her mother's noble house needed some support.
She didn't need the food but she was intrigued by the colours of the food displayed. Remarkable, wasn't it? She eyed one of the corn chips for a little longer than necessary before moving swiftly onwards... Quote:

Her Ladyship stopped mid-glide to look between the Hufflepuff and... "The Baron?" she asked the young lady, "Why does he scare you?" She was intrigued.
A swift smile was given to the Ravenclaw Prefect, the one she knew and liked better than the other Ravenclaw Prefect.

It's just he looks so gruff...and did you see that look he gave the Slytherins just a few moments ago? Chilling." She shivered at the thought. She wasn't used to being around those more stern in nature. As a whole, the Hufflepuffs all were quite jovial, and she loved it. She was certain to always find at least one cheery face each and every time she entered the Hufflepuff common room. "I do apologize, though, for jumping to conclusions. I've never had the pleasure of talking with him personally." And, I'm happy keeping it that way, she added in her mind.

*POP*
Tinka appeared at the buffet tables and immediately went to work cleaning up and checking on the supplies. There needed to be ample plates, forks, and cups for a successful buffet. There was also much need of clearing away little food and drink spills that were bound to happen with such a large number of students, faculty, and guest all eating outside.
She happily roamed around the four tables, cleaning as she went, and humming a joyous tune. A house elf working was a happy house elf.

What a lovely day for a spot of quidditch! Sir Nicholas cut a dashing figure as he floated toward the food buffet. He stared longingly at the offerings for a brief moment. Alas, if only he could enjoy them! How he missed eating sometimes…
The ghost did not allow himself to brood for long. Today was a happy occasion, and he was here to support his beloved Lions. He was pleased to see that he wasn't the only one. The Head Boy and Head of House were already here. “Hello, Professor Marchand! Hello, Ronan!” He greeted. “Here to support our most noble house with pride, I see!”
Sir Nicholas glided across the tables, greeting the headmistress and students as he went. He stopped upon seeing some of his fellow ghosts. “Greetings, Sir Baron!” Perhaps the celebration would lift the Slytherin ghost’s spirits. Goodness knows he could do with a bit of merry-making!
Ah, there was dear Lady Helena! Sir Nicholas smiled, bowing deeply. “Lady Helena, lovely to see you!”

"Thanks!" he replied, doing a little 'model' pose. "Barely. I honestly think those things might be the death of me." Considering that they could determine what he ended up doing with the rest his life and everything. "Hello, Headmistress Hawthorne. The Buffalo wings are to die for," was his reply to the headmistress. And he wasn't just being biased because of the red factor, either.
Soon came his Head of House, who got a "Hey, Professor Marchand!", Emmalyn, who got a wave and Jessa who got a return nod.
Then came the House Ghosts, whom all he'd pretty much gotten used to during his seven years at Hogwarts, even the Bloody Baron. Though, he did still prefer the usually cheerful Sir Nick. "Hello, Sir Baron, Lady Helena, Sir Nick!" was his returned greeting to each.

| #toolazyforquotes Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Well, she certain got more suggestions that she had asked for. Not to mention that the buffet seemed to be growing into a more popular spot. Even some of the ghosts were making an appearance. How festive, no?
"Thank you, Miss Cambridge," Regina responded to the Ravenclaw, adding the red velvet cake on her mental list to check out.
Then there was Gaston, clearly in support of his lions. Had she tried the hot chocolate? "Hello, Gaston. No, I haven't given the hot chocolate a try. I haven't quite yet made it to the buffet yet. Was getting some recommendations first." Speaking of recommendations, she did eye his plate. An interesting ensemble, she had to admit.
"Hello, Mr. Brodersen-Westergaard," she said in reply to the young Slytherin's greeting.
She then turned toward the ghosts and greeted each of them. "Good day, Baron, Helena, and Nick."
"Buffalo wings.," she repeated. "Got it. Thank you for the recommendation, Mr. Carter." The woman did, however, hope that none of the ghosts heard his comment about the wings being 'to die for.' That was bound to be a touchy subject. Almost as touchy as which House team should win the Quidditch Cup.
At this point, the woman started to slowly make her way over to the buffet, with full intent on being back in a few moments. The look of the food and the smells they were given off were just too irritable now. She grabbed herself a plate and looked at all of her options.

Caledon Roth The Leaky Cauldron | *rearranges a little* Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Gaston blinked sheepishly; he should've guessed that Headmistress Hawthorne hadn't been to the buffet yet by her empty plate. Stupid, stupid! he berated himself for the botched attempt to make conversation. She probably thought he was an idiot now. "I see," he replied, fighting the urge to flee like a spooked rabbit. "I'm sure you'll find something to your liking."
Before he could think of anything else to say, the House ghosts, or three of them anyway, arrived... just in time to keep him from saying the wrong thing again and making a fool of himself. "Good day, Sir Baron," he returned the Slytherin ghost's greeting, then turned to the Ravenclaw ghost. "And good day to you too, Lady Helena."
Gaston's dark head whipped around as the Gryffindor ghost greeted him by name. "Hello, Sir Nicholas," he replied, nodding when the ghost mentioned house pride. "Of course, anything to support the students." What kind of Head of House would be be if he didn't cheer his Lions on?
He smiled in reply to Ronan's greeting, but before he could say anything, he had to move aside to avoid colliding with a Slytherin boy headed for the buffet. As he did so, he saw Tinka hard at work cleaning. "Hello, Tinka," he said, beaming. Such a kind, hard-working elf!
He was just starting to make his way through the crowds in search of a seat when he heard Emmalyn inviting him to join her, and the offer got a big smile from him. He had to admire her kindness! "Thank you, Miss Walsh," he said. "That's very kind of you." He had every intention of taking her up on it, unless... "Are you sure you don't mind?" he asked, the question directed more at Jessa than Emmalyn. He didn't want to intrude! Georg gave the Headmistress a polite nod before going to find a seat at the green table. He looked at his plate. What should he eat first? The blond Slytherin picked up a chicken wing; he was busy nibbling away when he heard a familiar voice and nearly choked. Oh, no, not him! What was the Bloody Baron doing here? It was terrifying enough being in such close proximity to the headmistress! "H=hello, Mr. Baron, your Bloodiness, sir," Georg stammered, flinching at the look the ghost gave him and the other Snakes. Was he being disloyal by picking foods from the other house tables? Just in case, he leaned over his plate, trying to wolf everything down as fast as he could so the Baron wouldn't see. He glanced longingly toward Emmalyn and Jessa. Could he join them too?

| Couple mentions Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Jessa settled onto the blanket across from the Hufflepuff with a small, indifferent shrug. “I don’t think I really care enough about quidditch to make guesstimations about the results.” Yes, she was technically ON her house’s team, being reserve but Jessa had always hated physical activity. Trying out had been a means of getting out of the castle for her own good but it did not work. Half the time, she still skipped practice and she didn’t attend most games—not directly. It was easier to watch them from the window of her lab.
She took a sip of her blueberry drink, nodding in greeting to Professor Marchand and that young Slytherin when they approached.
Her gaze set on the ghosts as they appeared, her mind kicking into overdrive even while the others carried on conversations around her. It wasn’t until the Professor asked if Emmalyn was sure that she caught on to their conversation. “Yeah. It’s fine.” The Ravenclaw had caught the hesitant look and figured assurance would be best.
Similarly she caught the Slytherin boy staring and waved him over too. This was exceptionally social behaviour for the girl that had grown into something of a social recluse but this was a pep rally and if the kid really wanted to have some company...she wouldn’t very well snub him.
Jessa returned the smile from her house ghost, as she approached to query Emmalyn’s fear of the Baron. “Rather than afraid,” She commented lightly to her Hufflepuff company. “You could be intrigued by their ability to leave the castle.” As she currently was. There was no turning off the curiosity. Not even on days that we’re obviously not meant for learning specifically. ”How are you managing this?” She asked her house ghost, knowing the spectre to be very level headed and rational and therefore less likely to be offended by a question born of genuine intrigue. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen the ghosts outside the castle before and was under the impression it was the building that you were anchored to.”
Curious indeed.

Sir Nicholas smiled at the Gryffindor Head. "Hear, Hear!" he replied. Oh, if only he could raise a glass to the man's words! But he'd have to settle for applause instead. "Well said, Professor! Spoken like a true Gryffindor."
The Head Boy's greeting did not go unnoticed, and neither did his comment about the wings. Ahem! Sir Nicholas cleared his throat, raising an eyebrow in disapproval. Very poor choices of words, good sir! Nothing more was said on the matter, however, as the ghost did not wish to sour the mood of the festivities.
As the Gryffindor ghost greeted Lady Helena, he couldn't help overhearing the young lady Jessa's question. Sir Nicholas was slightly taken aback but not offended by the question. He thought to tell her that it was the location, not necessarily the castle itself that the ghosts were tethered to, and they could roam the grounds because they were an extension of Hogwarts itself. However, he felt it would be rude to intrude on a conversation in which he was not a part, so he decided to let Lady Helena answer.
