Madame Puddifoot's is laid out in a typical English tea room fashion. Lace doilies cover each table on top of the flower patterned table cloths. In the middle of each is a contained candle, ready to be lit for those on a romantic retreat. The windows are half covered by fancy net curtains, leaving just enough room at the top to see over and down Hogsmeade's High Street. Little flower and heart covered cushions are on each seat awaiting your arrival.
The shopkeeper, a descendant of the original owner, keeps the shop this way because she has to. She has no desire to look upon all the fancy decorations herself, which is why you'll most likely find her in the back room. She'll come and serve you when you ring the bell on the counter, but make sure you know what you want to order as she doesn't have all day. Keep your snogging to a minimum unless you want to be kicked out.

Patrick strolled into Madame Puddifoot's not really certain if he should come back after last year. He had witnessed so many friends doing things they never meant to do last year that he was worried something strange or outlandish might happen this year. But truthfully, he wasn't so sure that anything odd or scary was going to stop him from coming into the shop today because he was really hungry for some apple pie. He really wanted a nice cold Coke like what his grandparents kept.
Alas, beggars couldn't be choosers. He found a nice quiet seat near the front window where he could watch his classmates stroll the streets and interact with others. He figured he'd give himself a minute to think over getting something other than apple pie, but knew he would still get apple pie with ice cream. It was his favorite and he had to bother the house elves if he wanted it during the week.

It was a great weekend to be out and about. And why not? Why be cooped up at the Castle? One could say that Kay was practically bad to her old self though that could only be said if they took into consideration her physical appearance and good mood. In her head, she would constantly replay her actions from last term. This was, of course, based on what she was told since she had no recollection of it all.
Anyway, today was one of those days when she happened to be thinking happy thoughts and was actually looking forward to this weekend more than she would have thought. Alright, so Kay was hungry but unsure of what to order. Maybe she could seek some help with that? Patrick, maybe? Because the Slytherin was the first to catch her eyes.
"Hello, Mr Dooley. Do you mind if I join you? Also, would you be so kind as to suggest something I can munch on? I quite can't seem to make up my mind.''

Turning his head at the sound of his professors voice, he smiled, "No not at all, please sit down." He really loved that his professors were so kind and understanding about getting to know their students and having a relationship with them outside of class. Otherwise being trapped, no living at Hogwarts would be totally awkward. He figured it'd be like family getting together at the holidays and trying to talk when they hadn't seen each other in weeks.
Looking back at the menu he'd been glancing at in between watching the streets he set it down to give a suggestion. "Truthfully, I look at this menu each time I visit, yet every time I'm here I always get apple pie. Its the one thing I miss about home, sometimes the house elves will make one at dinner." his eyes lit up as he discussed his absolute favorite type of pie. "Oh, but I also like rhubarb pie too," his eyebrows drew together, "but my family says it's an acquired taste... not sure how they mean that." He smiled again hoping that his suggestions were of something she liked, because Patrick loved pie could eat it morning noon and night, but he tried to contain how often he ate it.

Elissa skipped into Puddifoots. After greeting the shopkeeper with a wave and a biiiig smile, she settled into a table halfway between the door and the back of the shop. So what if she didn't have a date? She could still enjoy the food - and this place had the best food! She looked over the menu for a minute before deciding on a slice of carrot cake and a glass of milk. Mmm... yummy! Now if only this place served cannoli like her Nona made it would be perfect!
Loosening her yellow and black HUfflepuff scarf, she glanced around the room. Maybe her friends would show up soon... or else, she could always make some new friends. That was always fun!

Emmalyn popped into the warm tea shop and inhaled the deliciousness. It was one of her favorite spots at Hogsmeade and she could not make the trip without a visit. She made her way to the counter, unaware of those around her, and placed her standard order of Cream Teas. It was a fairly hefty amount of money at 2 galleons, but well worth every knut.
After receiving her scones and tea, she carefully carried her treats towards the tables and noticed a fellow Hufflepuff sitting alone. “Hi, Elissa, do you mind if I join you? You can have some of scones, if you would like.” Her warm, friendly smile was genuine and she hoped the girl would welcome her to sit. It was much more fun having a treat with a friend than sitting alone.

"Excellent,'' Kay replied with a beam before comfortably taking a seat. She was always so pleased to be interacting with the kiddos out of lessons. It was interesting to get to know them, you see. As was the current conversation on apple pie. "I take it then that I should also get a slice of that pie?'' She was all up for recommendations! However, she was concerned about Patrick. "Do you get home sick very often?'' It could be difficult on anyone who felt home sick and she could thoroughly relate.
"Interesting. I've never had rhubarb pie. What does that taste like? I mean, is it really delicious?'' Which brought her to yet another question. "Do you bake pies on your own?'' It was out of curiosity. Kay rested her arms on the table. "I think my favourite would be cherry. Any opinion on cherry pie, Mr Dooley?''

Elissa was enjoying her cake when she heard a familiar voice. The fourth year looked up, putting down her fork, and smiled as she saw Emmalyn. "Sure! Pull up a chair," she said, gesturing for the younger girl to sit.
The offer of scones was awfully tempting! "Thanks! I'll have one." She helped herself to a scone. "Would you like some of my cake?" There wasn't much left, but it would be rude not to offer her something in return. "So how's your weekend so far?" she asked.

He laughed a little, "I wouldn't call it home sick, because my family is all here in Europe aside from my grandparents. But I miss my friends from the States a lot. They're a big part of my life during the summers." He thought back to this past summer. He got to play baseball with all of his friends from his first few years of school. He honestly wasn't too sure how much longer they would buy his boarding school excuse. Although he did up it to switzerland last time, but he wasn't sure that was going over well.
He hummed a bit as he thought over what it actually tasted like. It was sweet yet sour, there weren't many things in the magical world he knew by name that he could easily remember having that effect. "It's almost a sweet yet sour, or tangy taste. Its very good with ice cream." He smiled brightly at the question of making pies, his grandma had taught him after they moved to the sates. She was one of the best, "I typically help my grandma make them during the summers. Oh Cherry, they aren't bad but not enough berries to the liquid ratio as you get with apple." Although he wasn't sure any of that made any sort of sense the more he thought about it.

She smiled brightly as the fourth years cheery response and took a seat. After placing her tray of treats on the table she said "Thanks! You can pick whichever one you like." She pushed the plate of scones a bit closer to Elissa so she could have her pick. The scones at Madame Puddifoot's were some of the best she had ever had.
"Oh, thank you. Maybe just one bite if you don't finish it. I have more than I can eat right now." She poured a cup of tea, added a touch of cream, and one half spoonful of sugar. After giving it a little stir, she took a long slow sip. "Mmmmm. I love the tea here too." Emmalyn took a small bite of scone before answering. "My weekend has been great so far. I love coming here, although I'm not sure how I feel about it being so close to Valentine's day." She shrugged her shoulders and took another bite of scone. "How about you? How is your weekend going?" She couldn't remember of Elissa had a special someone or not, so she didn't want to ask about it. Plus, she had found her sitting there alone, special someoneless, in a sort of romantic tea shop. She glanced around at a few of the couples in the room and decided that it was sort of a date destination.

Ah, yet another student from the United States.
However, Patrick was lucky to have almost the entire family here. "I take it that you would visit them yearly then? Have any of them ever visited the United Kingdom?'' Perhaps Patrick may have asked one or two of his friends to visit?
Call Kaysha Impressed.
With a capital I, of all these facts about pies.
"I'll certainly give rhubarb a try sometime then. It seems you're quite ready to operate your own pie business,'' she said with twinkling eyes.

Elissa smiled as Emmalyn took a seat. Dining with friends was so much more fun than dining alone! Her brown eyes scanned the plate of scones. They all looked delicious, but she eventually settled on a blueberry one. "Thank you," she said, breaking off a small piece to nibble. "Mmm! So good!"
She laughed, making a mental note to save Emmalyn a bite of cake. "I've had that problem before," she said. Part of the reason why she stuck with a simple slice of cake this time. "I was tempted to order a cream tea too, but I'd never be able to finish it by myself!" She was quiet a moment as she remembered sharing cream teas with her sister every Hogsmeade weekend during her first and second years, and she suddenly missed Gianna. It was weird being at Hogwarts without her sometimes!
She didn't have much time to think about it before Emmalyn spoke again, and her smile returned. "I'm good; glad your weekend's going good so far," she replied. "I know! It's so nice to get out of the castle for a while, and this trip couldn't have come at a better time. My sister's birthday is next week; I'll have to get a present for her while I'm here- well, not here here, but here in Hogsmeade." She looked around the room at the couple's sitting nearby. "Yeah, I'm not crazy about Valentine's Day," she said with a slight frown. "I mean, romance is nice and all, but why do we need a holiday just to rub it in single people's faces?"
