If you are eager to see, be seen, and get to school first, then the front passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what you did this summer, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by reading your textbooks, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.
After loading her trunk into the luggage car, she quickly climbed aboard the Hogwarts Express to find a seat. Being in the front cars was a must. She could not wait to be back at Hogwarts for another amazing year. It was funny how much difference a year could make. Last year, at this time, she was absolutely terrified to be going to the strange magical school. A place that seemed too good to be true and a place that was ripping her out of her parents lives, possibly forever. This year was completely different. She was beyond excited. Hogwarts, along with the students and professors, had become her family. Her safe place. Her home.
Not seeing any other second years or Hufflepuffs already seated in the front cars, she found her way to an open seat and put her small bag down. Her eyes scanned the students on the platform below, hoping to see someone she knew to wave towards her. There were so many things to say after such an eventful summer.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when

Daisy hoped that her friend, Emmalyn was sitting in one of the front cars. Surely, enough she was sitting there by herself. The older Hufflepuff entered the compartment and sat down opposite Em with a smile and a, "Hey there, Em!"

With her face still pressed to the window, she heard her name being said by a familiar voice. She spun around, a bit too quickly and almost fell off her seat, to see her friend and fellow Hufflepuff. Giggling she greeted "Hi Daisy! It's great to see you." She gestured to the open seats, "Come and sit with me. I think we are some of first few students on the train."
She could hear a few more voices up and down the length of the front cars, but they were a bit too far off for her to recognize. "How was the rest of your summer? Did you do anything exciting since we last spoke?" It hadn't been that long since their meeting at Diagon Alley, but a lot could happen in a short amount of time.
After moving her bag to the rack above the seat, she sat back down and gave her full attention to her friend. She had learned from last year that the ride to Hogwarts was much quicker than expected.
She had made it! After a tearful but excited goodbye to her parents, Lex stepped off the platform, and was finally aboard the Hogwarts Express, about to experience her first term at Hogwarts. She had been dreaming of this for years. She hoped that the train ride wasn't too long - she couldn't wait to get to school and see Hogwarts in person for the very first time.
Lex put her trunk with everyone else's luggage and started looking for a place to sit down. She wasn't sure if she wanted to find an empty compartment, or join one already occupied. Lex was a very shy girl, but she did love to make friends, and she wanted to meet some of her fellow students before she arrived at the castle.

Just as she was about to get deeper into conversation with Daisy, Emmalyn noticed a young girl looking for a place to sit. "Hello there! You are welcome to join us if you are looking for a place to sit." She motioned to the open seats both next to and across from where she was sitting.
"I'm Emmalyn and this is Daisy. We are both Hufflepuffs. Are you a first year?" She always hated asking that question. She was positive that she had never met the girl, but maybe she was an older transfer student and being asked if you are a first year when you aren't can feel awkward.
"Oh, I also have some candy in my bag if you would like some. I usually find myself low on funds for the food trolley." It was especially true for this ride to Hogwarts. She had gone on a bit of a spending spree at Diagon Alley with purchasing her broom and enough chocolate to feed the entire Hufflepuff house.

Lex's eyes brightened as she saw a couple of girls in a nearby compartment. One of them was speaking to her, inviting her to join them. She approached the seats and sat down, placing her bag on her lap.
"Hi, Emmalyn," she said after the girl had introduced herself and her friend. "And hello, Daisy. I'm Alexis. But everyone calls me Lex. It's nice to meet you both. And, yeah, I'm a first year. This is pretty exciting. I wonder what house I'll be in."
Lex reached into her bag and pulled out some candy. "I've got some too," she said, "Although I'll admit, I've already eaten quite a lot of candy today." She smiled at the other girls, slightly embarrassed. She was known for having quite a sweet tooth. She put the sweets back in her bag. She didn't want to ruin her appetite before her very first Hogwarts feast!

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
You think Minnie would find anywhere else to sit but the front of the Train. She would much rather right now be further from her Brother than Normal. She was sure he was in the back so being the Front was the only option. The 17 year-Old found this Train to be very Odd. She preferred the method of travel it took to reach Beauxbaton than this. It didn't much matter though as it was 1, no just 2 times that she would be in this Train then done and she was a Free Girl.
She located a free compartment and plopped down onto one of the benches straightening out her dress as she sat then reached into her purse and picked out one of a few Drooble's Bubble Gum she bought in Diagon Alley. She can enjoy a nice quiet ride to Hogwarts with these.

Lydia hurried down the corridor of the train. The compartments were all filling up so fast! If only she hadn't almost been late because her mum kept forgetting things that morning. Luckily, Lydia had already managed to stow her belongings and her new owl, Ophelia, in the luggage compartment. Now all she needed was a place for herself!
Glancing at an almost empty compartment, she noticed an older girl sitting by herself chewing bubblegum. She hoped the teenager wouldn't mind if a kid like herself wanted to share the compartment. Besides, she figured, maybe the older girl would be willing to tell her what it was like to have been a witch for so long and to have grown up in the wizarding world. There was a lot she could learn from an experienced witch.
Lydia tapped softly on the compartment door. It was still open, but she didn't want to be rude and just barge inside. "Hello, my name is Lydia Beckett. Do you mind if I sit in here? Everywhere else is filling up fast."

Xiamena wasn't necessarily by her lonesome. sleeping in her small purse letting off a cute snoring sound was her teacup piglet, Caramelo. The little guy had been through so much and is now taking his much needed nap. She looked down at her little pet as she blew a blue bubble from her lips and let it pop. Chewing it again to be ready for a new Bubble.
That's when she heard a small tapping the side of her compartment door she left open. She lifted her sunglasses that rested on her face and smiled at the younger girl. "I don't mind at all, Lydia." She welcomed her in so that they could share the compartment with he "The more the merrier right? We can start a party." Was that a bit too welcoming? Minnie, it probably was. You were just as new to this school as this girl seemed to be. She must be a 1st year.

"Thanks!" said Lydia. "What's that snoring sound?"
As Lydia entered the compartment and sat down across from Minnie, she noticed the animal napping in the other girl's purse. Lydia barely contained a squeal of delight. "He's so cute! What's his name?"
The Hogwarts Express let off a long whistle. Lydia's excitement was growing more by the minute. Within a few hours they'd be at the school!
"I wish I had a pig like that," she continued with a smile. "I'm only bringing my owl, Ophelia."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Lex. Welcome to the Hogwarts Express." She said with a bit of a giggle. She wasn't exactly sure what was funny about, but it did seem silly to be welcoming her to a train. "Are you excited to be headed to Hogwarts? Do you have any idea what house you will be in?" She paused, knowing she had the tendency to explode questions a people.
Then Lex mentioned candy. Another candy lover. They just had to be friends. "Candy is great, but you are right about the feast. It's amazing!" So much glorious food. The only problem with the feast is not having enough room in your stomach for all the food.

"I'm glad it was uneventful. Makes for a nice relaxing time." She knew they wouldn't be doing much relaxing for a while. The first few months of class were usually very busy along side tryouts and other clubs forming. "I did go to quidditch camp. It was awesome. I learned a lot of great new skills and I can't wait to try them out on the pitch." Her smile grew with every word she spoke. Quidditch was one of her favorite things to do. Plus, she was at camp with Derf, and he was one of her favorites as well.
She quickly changed the subject after feeling her face blush at the thought of Derf. "What classes are you ladies looking forward to most this year?" It wasn't the most exciting topic, but it did get her mind away from the one person she didn't want to think about at the moment.

"I wanted to attend Quidditch camp but my father fell quite ill during the Summer which is why I did my shopping alone at Diagon Alley. I hope father's illness was a one-time thing," Daisy replied with a slightly worried look on her face.
When Em asked about classes, Daisy's expression became thoughtful as she replied, "I'm looking forward to Charms, Potions and Flying the most."
Ewan was on his way! He had made it! It wasn't a dream. It wasn't just a figment of his imagination. After giving his father a big hug, and sneakily wiping the tear out of his left eye, and lugged his trunk onto the train. He into one of the front cars, eager to meet new friends, and in all honesty, he just wanted somewhere to sit, unsure of where to sit. He didn't want to intrude with a few of the older children and seem uncool. No. That would be a nightmare. Hmm.. Where to sit.

Beau was READY. He had made sure his stuff was all on the train, said a quick goodbye to his parents and avoided the kiss from his Mum before RUNNING onto the Hogwarts Express ready for his THIRD YEAR OF GRYFFINDOR LIFE. YES!
This. Was. Going. To. Be. EPIC.
Everything was great. His hair was longer, his girlfriend was...well, she was a real thing and his best friend was still his best friend and her hair was still cool. AND Olivia Phillips has graduated which meant that there was room for Emma to sneak her position on the quidditch team. IF everyone else from last year made it again.
WHICH HAD TO HAPPEN. IT HAD TO. Beau wanted to be on the team more than ANYTHING right now. He needed it.
QUIDDITCH WAS IN HIS BLOOD AND HE WOULD BE OUT FOR BLOOD IF HE DIDNT MAKE THE TEAM.
UGH. Launching himself down the hallway of the train, Beau bounced from compartment to compartment looking for the FUN to be had.

"I'm not sure yet what house I'll be in..." she continued. "My whole family has been in Hufflepuff, though, so I'll be glad if I'm there too."
She thought for a moment about classes. "I'm excited for Transfiguration," she said, "and Charms and Potions too."

"Hufflepuff is the best!" She said to Lex with a nod then looked over to Daisy with a smile. "I'm not sure what to think about classes. I was so excited about potions last year, then that went horribly." Even thinking about Professor Noble made her stomach turn. "I think herbology, charms, and flying are my favorites right now." Flying most of all. How could a person not love flying? It had to be the best thing on earth. "Although, I think I'm the best a muggle studies. Not that it should count since I am muggle born." Her little giggle at the end brought another smile to her face.
She turned to Daisy, "I would have loved going to camp with you. It would have made it even more fun." Her eyes drooped with sadness and she had to pause a moment before continuing. "I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It's scary when a parent falls ill. Do you know what he had? Did he have to go to hospital?" Her mind was whirling with what could have possibly been so bad that she couldn't attend camp. "I'm with Lex, let us know what we can do to help." She hoped it was all okay and he was feeling back to his old self as they spoke. Her own grandmothers illness hadn't been that long ago and the memories of how worried everyone was would not be leaving her soon.

Where did she go? Chloe was looking all over, why hadn't she been able to find her? This was great, just great, they hadn't even made it to Hogwarts and she couldn't find her kitten. Poor Teacup was probably just so scared and lost. She was only a baby and now she was gone. The eleven-year-old was starting to sniffle, not that she wanted to cry in front of all these strange people, but this was upsetting.
Seeing someone looking into compartments she wondered if maybe he had seen Teacup. "Excuse me... " Her green eyes bigger than usual as she looked around, "You... you haven't seen a black and white kitten around here have you?"
She really hoped someone had seen her kitten, she just had to find her.

"Dad went to a Muggle hospital in London. I think if he went to St Mungo's, it might have caused more stress since he's a Muggle. He's been getting headaches and feeling very tired so heaps of tests have been done. I thank you for your kind thoughts."

"He is adorable," Lydia beamed.
Glancing out the window, she realized with a thrill of excitement that they were finally on their way! Before she knew it, the last of London's many buildings were falling away behind them. Only a few more hours stood between her and Hogwarts!
"You must know a lot about Hogwarts," said Lydia. "Are you a seventh year? You must know so much about magic and everything. Can you believe only a month or so ago I had no idea any of this existed? This has all been such a shock for me, but I'm obviously excited too!"
Lydia stopped herself before she babbled on too much. She didn't want Minnie to think of her as a silly, overly excited ickle firstie.

This girl was just as adorable as her little Caramelo. She watched her eyes dart to the window a couple of times and wondered if she would have just as much excitement for this, had she begun her 1st year at Hogwarts instead of Beauxbaton? And don't get her wrong. She was plenty excited for Beauxbaton when she turned 11. She was just comparing Lydia's excitement to her own for different schools.
"I actually know little to nothing of it." She said truthfully. "Beside for what is read in Hogwarts A History." Minnie continued on. "I will be a Transfer coming in for my final year. I attended Beaxbaton Academy for my first 6 years."
Oh she made a point to not forget that his girl was a Muggleborn! They were the cutest of any 11 year old about to attend any School of Magic. She witnessed many Spanish and French Girls whom were Muggleborn as well with equal wonder on their faces in her 1st year at the other School. "I can certainly help you along with any sort of Beauty Magic you might want advice on. I also believe I'm plenty good with Transfiguration's in General"
Minnie pulled out a bag of Oats for Caramelo to nom on. Letting her Teacup Piglet hoggishly eat the small oats out of the palm of her hand.
"I think it would be quite nice to be in Hufflepuff," said Lex. "I've always heard good things." She smiled. "I've never flown on a broom before," she continued thoughtfully. "I'm not too fond of heights, but I have always wondered what it would be like to fly. Maybe it would feel different." She shrugged. "I suppose I'll have to give it a go."

"Dad went to a Muggle hospital in London. I think if he went to St Mungo's, it might have caused more stress since he's a Muggle. He's been getting headaches and feeling very tired so heaps of tests have been done. I thank you for your kind thoughts."
"That's good that he's being taken care of," Lex encouraged Daisy. "I've heard that Muggles have very good medicine. I'm sure they'll figure out exactly what treatment he needs."

She wasn't sure how to respond, other than offering her sympathy. "Sounds scary, but I'm sure he will be all better soon." At least she hoped he would. Parent's weren't supposed to get sick. They were the ones that were supposed to take care of the kids. She shifted in her seat as the train rocked on towards Hogwarts.

"We would love for you to be in Hufflepuff with us." She gave a smile to her new friend as she listened to her talk about flying. "Flying is the best thing! I'm sure you will love it. Plus, they put charms on the field when you are learning so you don't get hurt if you happen to fall off." That gave her a thought. She had always wondered what it would feel like to jump off her broom and land on the cushioning charm. Maybe the flying professor would let her give it a try...
The hills and trees were passing by quickly and the darkness was slowly taking over. "We are getting close. We should get in our robes since we will be arriving soon." She reached up and grabbed her small duffel to pull out her robes. They were new this year. Her old robes had become far too short and had to be replaced.
