It was one of those nights when Daehyun could feel he could no longer stay awake. He fought to keep his eyes open, constantly rubbing his knuckles against them as he trudged into the classroom, barely uttering a half-hearted "'ello, professor."

He'd reached that level of sleepiness that he wasn't even curious what professor Kennedy was looking out for. Instead, he just dropped his bag next to a desk in the back, nearest to the windows, in the hope that the fresh air would awaken him. He was so tempted to use his bag as a pillow and take a nap before class, but he knew he wouldn't wake up until the next day if he did so.

Entering the classroom now, Ewan couldn't help but grin widely. He loved this subject. His fascination for the stars and planets had always been visible, even in his muggle primary school. Awake with excitement, he strode through the open door and grinned as the Professor stood, surrounded by the night. It was almost as if he was in a movie and he'd planned to look that cool. "Hey Professor, see anything interesting out there?".

Walking slowly now and somewhat stealthily, he approached Daniel. "Hey Dusty. Tired much?". Pulling his rucksack off of his shoulder, he bent down and placed it carefully on the floor before finally flumping on it. With a small sigh, he looked out towards the stars, searching for his favourite constellation.

Emmalyn sauntered into the room, noticing the shiny telescopes and open windows. It looked like it was going to be a fun class. "Hi, Professor Kennedy, I trust you are well." She flashed a smile towards the professor as she searched the room for the perfect desk. It was an important decision to make. She also wanted to make sure there was room next to her for Daisy to sit, if she wanted to.

Once she was settled in her seat, she gave a little wave to the two others that had arrived before her. "Hi Ewan, hi Daniel." She hoped both boys were as excited about class as she was.

Quinn entered, as always, without a word or greeting, just studying with her eyes. Her watchful gaze first fell on the professor, inquisitive. After a moment, her eyes moved upwards, following to where he seemed to be looking, but either you needed to be right at the window to see it, or what had his interest wasn't readily something she'd take notice of.

After a bit, Quinn lowered her eyes, and surveyed the room. She spotted Daniel and probably would have sat near him so Beth didn't have to pick which of them to sit near tonight, except, Ewan was already there, hovering around Daniel as he seemed to a lot these days, buzzing like a fly more than likely. Tosser.

Quinn studied the only other student there at the moment, appraising her for a long moment before finally taking a seat, far from Ewan. There was only one reason she was looking forward to this class tonight, and it had little to do with the stars, and nothing to do with the Professor.

Rylee made her way up to the Astronomy tower, her bag slung over her shoulder in the usual fashion, blue eyes bright and a smile on her face despite the hour. Taking a quick look around the room the first thing she spotted was open windows. There was no thought needed. She was sitting as close to an open window as she could, if she could see the starry night sky out one, than that's where she was going to be.

"Hello, Professor Kennedy," she greeted him with a warm smile even though his back was turned to them all. Picking a seat as close to a window as she could get she set her bag down at her feet smiling at the others in the room. "Hi, Emmalyn, Quinn, Ewan, Daniel."

Kye entered the classroom with a little shiver. Mmm she wished they could have refreshments in class, because what she wouldn't do for some hot cocoa... and a nap. With a sweep of the room she noticed the professor looking up and out, but this was hardly the most unusual way to find him. Come on, after he came through a wall last year? You really couldn't be surprised by much nowadays. "Hello Professor," she said, unsure if he was paying attention to them at the moment. She found a seat near the center of the room and plopped down. Inhaaaaaaale........... exhaaaaaaaale... Yea, she really wanted hot cocoa. Professor Kennedyyyyy? Would you be so kiiiind?

Lydia entered the astronomy classroom with a dreamy smile on her face. Her mind tended to wander sometimes, and she'd end up in various different daydreams. As she walked through the door and almost bumped into the professor while she was looking for a seat, her mind was brought back to planet Earth. What was the professor standing still as a statue for? He seemed absorbed in the night sky beyond the windows.

"Hello Professor Kennedy," said Lydia. "Sorry for almost bumping into you. Are you..er..looking for anything in particular out there?"

Lydia noticed that Ewan, Daniel, and Rylee had already arrived. After Professor Kennedy's response, she walked over to the little group which also included a young badger who she hadn't been properly introduced to yet.

"Hey guys," she said. To the Hufflepuff she smiled and said, "Lydia Beckett. I don't think we've properly met yet. Do you mind if I sit near you three?"

Lydia saw Quinn enter the classroom as well, but she stayed far from Ewan and Daniel. Lydia gave her a wave.

Jessa Cambridge walked into the room reading, having been pulled from her lab specifically to attend this lesson. It was always the case, Astronomy was that one class that held hours when she was typically otherwise busy and she wasn't sure how much longer she'd keep attending for that reason, but as it hadn't so far truly interrupted anything she'd been working on, she supposed she didn't mind showing her face.

Having already learned the Hogwarts syllabus all the way up to and beyond the NEWT level, there was no real need to keep attending--and surely if it came to that her Head of House would see it that way too....but again....Prefects were meant to set an example and actually attend their lessons. She supposed it wasn't too far fetched to believe that if you allowed one to skip, you'd have to allow the multitude and that would be a whole other issue that she didn't intend to be in the middle of.

No thanks. It may have required explanation and justification, neither of which she was particularly keen on giving.

"Hello Mr. Kennedy." She mumbled, turning the page to continue reading but as she looked up, she realized that not only was someone else in her seat--that herd of younger students actually--but also.....her name was no longer there.

She liked that seat.

Quite a bit chuffed about it, Jessa came to a stop beside the man, looking up as he was currently doing. "What're you looking at and why've we changed the way we do our seating?" To get used to another seat, while inconsequential to most was something of a big deal for her.

Astronomy was one of his favourite classes. Not because he was exceptionally good at it or anything, because he really wasn't. Nope, it was because Max was a night owl and midnight was normally when he was most awake. And because he found anything and everything about the universe fascinating.

So it was with a happy bounce in his step that the fifth year entered the astronomy classroom and plopped himself in a seat. He would've greeted Professor Kennedy but the teacher seemed deep in thought and he knew from personal experience that sometimes it was best not to interrupt.

He hoped this would be the lesson they learned about martians.

Was it wrong of Skylar to continue attending Astronomy lessons still because the Professor was likely going to be future family to her? Perhaps. It wasn't that she thoroughly despised the subject though, but more just that while she didn't know much of her future career, the seventh year was certain that astronomy was not required for any of her possibilities.

Also, star-gazing was generally a relaxing task and Merlin knew that this She-Snake could use all the relaxation techniques she could get.

Claiming a seat near Kye, she gave a brief smile to the dormmate as her blue-gray eyes found the professor by the window. Tilting her head curiously, she was about to greet him, but decided against it. He seemed very transfixed in thought, after all, which in Skylar's experience, interrupting someone when they were deep in thought was not beneficial. To either party. So instead, she proceeded to get situated with her notes, wondering if the bright skies would have something to do with today's lessons

Popping on into the room Patrick found it bustling with students. Glancing down at his wrist watch he took note that he was still early, they were just earlier. Sighing he slung his backpack off of his shoulder and made his way toward a seat that looked about right. Pulling out his coke from his backpack to keep him awake. The house elves really were something else when you asked kindly. It was something he truly missed every now and again. A good ice cold coke. But considering he wasn’t a coffee drinker he had to stay awake somehow.

Glancing up ahead he was getting ready to greet Professor Kennedy when he noticed the deep in thought look on his face. He thought better of it, considering he really didn’t want to end up on a professors bad side. Although he was certain Professor Nobel really did hate him. Sighing he glanced around and spotted some friends, waving at those he knew and nodding his head to others.

Maddie liked Astronomy class. It was always pretty cool and interesting to look at celestial bodies that were so far away she'd likely never see them otherwise. There was nothing too special about the room tonight. There were just desks and then a professor staring up at who knew what. Maddie half-skipped over to him. "Hi, Professor!" she said, and then she joined him in peering upward. "What's up?" Literally.

There were stars and planets and all sorts of other things, but was there some sort of unusual event happening tonight or something? Maddie wouldn't even know, even if it was staring her right in the face. She smiled at the professor then turned to take a nearby seat.

Kirk strolled on into one of his favourite classes. The Captain was definitely a night owl, so he was quite alert and feeling comfortable from the occasional breeze entering in the room. He could see everyone sitting where.. they wanted to sit. So did that apply to him too? Cool.

Kirk went to a seat close by the window, he wanted to get the best sight of course. But before that he spotted their Professor taking in the sights already. Naturally, Kirk went near to check too. "Hello Professor.. you checking out Capella tonight?" That was likely one of the brightest stars to see if Kirk had remembered his charts correctly, of course.

Xaria was ready for this. The night was young and here and her mum never really let her stay up too late so having freedom to stay up late whenever she wanted too, even if it was for a class was so freeing. "Gooood Evening professor......." whoa... He wasn't at his desk as per usual. Her eyes lowered to a squint as she stood near the doorway before she saw him in the back.

"ahh, yes! Good evening Professor Kennedy!" She was short but she waved her hand in the air across the room to him before going to take a seat in a desk. Five from the center, yes. Hazel eyes looked up towards the window at the sky outside... "wow" she whispered to herself.. The sky was BEAUTIFUL!!!

Beth was sleepy, yes, very sleepy. The sleep deprived slytherin made her way all the way to the uppermost part of the school in in the middle of the night for class. This, this wasn’t fun. ”Hey Professor Kennedy” she smiled over to the Professor that also doubled as a Librarian before sweeping her eyes around the room.

Her hands reaching up to tuck hair behind her ears – both ears, at the same exact time. She glanced away from the person that caused that reaction and looked over to Quinn for a moment. ”Hey Quinny,” she grinned wondering where exactly Reese was? Hmm…turning she waved over toward Lydia, really, one of these days they needed to work in a group project together. ”Hey Lyd, um…hey Dusty” she grinned over to Daniel using the oh-so-special nickname. Flicking her eyes over toward Ewan she just waved, see…uh, she’d said hi right?

Having chosen to stay awake and roaming the corridors just in case some students decided to take advantage of the fact that there was an Astronomy lesson tonight to roam the castle, Ronan had no problem making to said class on time. Letting his meerkat patronus (who he'd secretly named Timon) lead him into the room, he took a look around before setting his stuff down on his chosen desk for a moment and joining the small group at the window, letting Timon scurry around the room.


"Hey, Professor Kennedy, Kirk, Jessa," he greeted the group, following the professor's gaze. A small breeze caught the bottom of his robes (that he was wearing for once) making him remind himself of a certain superhero. An effect he actually kind of liked.

Nathan wasn't exactly ready to be attending Professor Kennedy's Astronomy class again. He would rather choose to stay in bed all day.... every day. He felt like his mind disconnected from his body, only fatigue clouded his vision. After his breakup with Alyce, he had been losing focus in class and had not much of anything to eat since breakfast. Sigh...what's wrong with him lately?

He didn't feel like greeting the professor, would a simple nod of greeting be sufficient? But it seems Professor Kennedy was preoccupied looking out of the window. So in order to avoid eye contact, Nathan quickly slipped into the class quietly and sat at the very back.

After many nights of patrols, the late hour of the lesson wasn’t a problem for Stasya. Well, patrols and the occasional very common visit to check on her creatures in the barns, both the ones that were personally hers and the ones she’d sort of unofficially adopted. She did trust Professor Wayland, but she kind of liked knowing they were all turned down for the night the way they liked. Either way, she’d made her way up to the Astronomy Tower rather not-tired, and not because of cookies. Just a lot of training.

It was oddly amusing to see that t was mostly younger students who had arrived before her, with the exception of a handful of Slytherins (including Skylar), Kirk, Jessa, and, unsurprisingly, Ronan. She’d sent grins toward those she knew, heading for an open seat that may or may not end up having the one net to it saved for any one of her best friends whenever they arrived. Unless someone else claimed it in the meantime. She wasn’t officially going to make a fuss over it like it seemed Jessa was doing.

“Good evening Professor Kennedy.” It was getting easier to think of him as a professor and not just the librarian.

Astronomy class was a long walk if you're coming from the Slytherin's common room but Hana is exceptionally excited with this class. It's something she could definitely learn from. She skipped all the way and then began to start walking before the entrance.

She meekly entered the room and spotted students who were already in there seats. Her eyes then wander around the room and paused at the man standing near the window. Just like Shakespeare or Edgar Allan Poe.

She smiled and spoke up "Hello, Professor. Nice to meet you." before she took a seat.

This is going to be lovely.

Daisy entered the Astronomy Tower observing the bright moon and constellations. "Good evening, Professor Kennedy. How are you?" She quickly found a seat near Emmalyn and gave her friend a smile.

Harriet was looking forward to Astronomy. It was one of her favourite lessons, if not her very favourite. It also helped that the Astronomy tower was one of her favourite places to be in the class. So she was very excited about the lesson. She couldn't wit to learn some new some fun things about astronomy. She hoped they'd be doing some looking at the stars tonight, because that would be super cool. The seventh year headed towards the astronomy tower, bright in mood. She was very excited. She entered the classroom, and smiled, noticing that Professor Kennedy wasn't in his usual spot. She looked around, noticing that he was instead, by the window. That was interesting. Hmm.

"Hello Professor Kennedy" The blonde murmured with a smile, before she went to find herself a seat. She waved at a few people, but decided to sit alone for now. She didn't want to be distracted too much by her friends, so this was good.

Eria didn't mind being up at midnight and she actually liked to cool air wafting through the warmth of the castle. It wasn't uncommon for her to be up at this time, though she was usually studying in the common room or her dormitory.

Star gazing was, at the very least, generally a pretty class? At midnight it should be, as long as they got to see whatever it was that the professor was preoccupied with. A cheesy love song randomly popped into her head at the thought and made her want to gag. At that moment she didn't bother more than a nod for the professor and went to find a seat for their scheduled torture. She really hated love songs, as if all that rubbish was real...

Scanning the room, she saw her Baby Snake and Tweetless Bird looking for their boyfriends....Baby Snake doing that 'Oh boy, I like you so much' double hair tuck....by Merlin's big white man beard, was it breeding season already!? The tall brunette rolled her eyes to herself and wandered as far to the front of the room as possible for once.

She didn't want to watch any of this, it was not her scene or forte...call her when the idiotic males hurt their poor little hearts and made them cry. Then...then she could help. Teach them how to crush souls and break bodies, which hexes and jinxs to use and when...that was what Eria was good at.

Despite her surname, love was certainly not her craft. No, that had been her stupid Puff sister's talent. Eria had never experienced the phenomenon, she debated if it existed outside of the bond she had with her mother.

Seating herself still as alone as possible, she braced herself for what consequences this would bring...what horrid neighbors she might now gain, or rather have forced upon her. Well, it was pick your poison and fire whiskey wasn't on the table...

For quite a bit she stared blankly out the window watching the stars in complete silence waiting for Professor Kennedy to start the lesson. Her mind may have been elsewhere but even so it was almost as if she knew she should turn around at the exact moment she did. Shifting around slightly in her seat, Ry looked over her shoulder at the door watching as at that exact moment the older Slytherin walked in. Watching him for a moment as he sat in the very back she realized right away that he seemed even more grumpy that his usual self. Nope. She wasn't having none of that.

Grabbing her bag up off the floor from beneath her chair she got up and decided to change seats. It didn't matter, did it? It's not like the lesson had started yet or they had assigned seats anymore. Without a word she made her way to the back and sat down in the empty seat beside Nathan. Reaching over she gave his sleeve a gentle tug, waited for him to look at her and gave him a soft Rylee smile. "No being sad, okay?" Seriously. She wasn't going to allow it.

Reese made his way up to his Astrology class with excitement.. He'd taken a quick nap before hand so that he'd be well rested to focus on the lesson at hand.. That and Because this was the first time he and Quinn would be seen in class as an official couple..

He entered the astronomy tower classroom and gave a happy smile, " Good evening, Professor Kennedy.. Whatcha lookin' at? " He wondered what he might be looking at out of the window.. " I take it today's lesson has to do with the event occurring tonight? ", he asked.. Sure he was stating the obvious, but still.. If he had a few extra minutes to look up in his textbook what he could before class started then his mission would be successful.

As the first year Badger Boy waited for an answer he scanned the room and saw Eria near the front.. And there was Bethe and his Pretty Raven. He couldn't help but smile over at his girlfriend..

Once his query had been answered he made his way over to The Girls and sat beside Quinn. " Heya, Cutie..", Reese said with a peck on the cheek and a funny little grin. [B]" Hi, Bethie Boop.. Looks like it's gonna be an interesting lesson tonight, eh? "
