Muggle Studies was not his forte. Not at all. But as Daehyun walked hesitantly in the classroom, wondering what new things professor Stewart had in mind for them, he hoped at least his positive attitude towards the subject would be of any help, because otherwise, he was a disaster and utterly helpless around many muggle things.

"Good morning, professor!" he said with a smile, before scurrying to take a seat among the last rows of desks in the hope that his disastrous work wouldn't be too noticeable.

... but he supposed he wouldn't escape the professor's scrutiny, anyway.

So instead of worrying about the machine in front of him for now, he dropped his bag next to the desk, and stared at the materials. And poked the fleece. Just because it was soft.

It was morning, the best time of day, and a perfect time to have the one class she didn’t feel like a failure at. Muggle Studies reminded her of home. Sure, she did feel at a slight advantage since she was muggle born, but there were a lot of really smart students at Hogwarts.

Upon her arrival, Emmalyn noticed the sewing equipment at each table. A gleaming smile spread across her perky face as she almost skipped to her seat. “Good morning, professor!” She sat her bag down and gently let her fingers glide across the soft fleece fabric. She could almost feel the warmth held within the fabric rise into her fingers and up her arm.

She really hoped they would be sewing something for the days lesson. She wasn’t a great seamstress, but her mother had taught her to make her own skirts, dresses, decorative pillows, and blankets. Her mind was racing with all of the possibilities in the materials before her.

Freja was really looking forward to this class. However, she had no idea what to expect from it. Suppose that's what makes it so exciting! She hesitated over the threshold after realising she was one of the first here. Darn it, that was NOT cool. She lifted her hand as a sort of wave/acknowledgement of a fellow first year who was already there, before perching an awkward seat beside him. He wouldn't mind, because he knew the struggle of being a first year, right?

WOAH, what was THAT on her desk!??!!?!?!

"Hi, Professor!!!" She greeted, more excited than she was hoping to look.

Unfortunately, Zoryn was going to class today. Actually, in a HORRIFIC turn of events... She was going to class every day. As it turns out, when you skip class every day your scores suffer and all of the sudden you're getting T's in all of your classes. Then your parents get mad and insist you hire a tutor and then they'll send you howlers in front of everyone in the Great Hall until you finally ask around and get help. AND THEN they make you attend your lessons, which you HATE (by the way). And suddenly you're going to Muggle Studies regularly despite your hatred for both the subject and the Professor who teaches it.

Not that Zoryn could attest to this with any personal experience. Nah, she just assumed that's what would happen.....

All of this being said, the Quidditch Captain was going to remain out in the hall until it was absolutely necessary to walk into the room, but she was getting tired of standing and realized that she'd need to secure a good seat so that she could be near friends. They were the only way she made it out of these lessons alive. Seriously.

So of course she sucked it up and walked into the room, looking around for a prime seat first. "Professor," she grunted, walking past the only-remaining Professor Stewart. She wanted to sit by the window. Oh no, they weren't sewing were they???? That was like THE MOST boring thing to do in the most BORING class. It's like Professor Stewart didn't understand kids at all.

Hanna was glad Muggle Studies was BELOW her common room. Well, all things were, really. She never arrived to lessons puffed out, and she was getting better at breathing through her stair climbing, thanks to the never-ending climb up all those flights. But she was excited for lesson, it was always fun to do things that her grandparents would have done, and her great-grandparents before they even had children which were magical.

Walking into the classroom, Hanna said "Hello Professor," before looking around and taking everything in. It was like being in a sewing shop. Doooiii, because there were sewing things all around. She went to a seat and sat down, her eyes never stopping taking everything in.

Er......

Was it too late to back track out of the class, head back to her Common Room and pretend she'd overslept and missed this lesson? This was a busy year for Jessa, OWLs aside as she'd officially been ready for those by the end of the previous term. She was skipping out on sleep, up at odd hours, taking potions for concentration just to counter the impairment from the missed sleep and she could assure anyone who asked that it wasn't so she could learn to use a sewing machine.

Professor Marchand had already gone over sewing with them and while she'd found that class to be equally of little use to her she had to say it was the preferred option to doing that sewing thing by hand...er...machine....whatever.

"Good morning Professor." She offered, realizing it really was too late for her to make an exit.

Never having been one to rock the boat, Jessa simply took a seat, turning her gaze momentarily back to the woman. She wasn't being as weird as she'd been last term and the Ravenclaw wanted to believe she was indeed back to normal. With Kitty graduated, she didn't expect nor did she want to hear anything else about repealing important statutes.

Someone tell her they wouldn't be sitting here for the hour on sewing. Literally, she didn't have TIME for this.

It seemed to be a common theme for students not to like or appreciate Muggle Studies. While it certainly was not Natalie's favorite subject to study, it was usually quite easy and the hour of class was a nice break from the rest of her school day.

She didn't see any mops when she walked into the classroom, so that was already a good sign. She did see some other strange contraptions on the desks, though. Interesting.

"Hi Jessa," she greeted her friend as she sat beside her. Then she dropped her bag on the floor and waited for class to begin.

Now this was exciting! Garreth had never seen an actual sewing machine up-close, a fact made painfully obvious by the way he so closely scrutinized the mysterious object on the table in front of him. He had been so excited, in fact, that he'd nearly forgotten to greet the professor before taking his seat. Nearly.

"Good morning, Professor Stewart!"

Muggle Studies was one of his favorite subjects, and while he was partial to the fancier, more 'high tech' muggle artifacts, such as the ones his squib older brother was so obsessed with, he had no qualms about sitting down for a bit of sewing. Who knows? Maybe going through the effort of actually creating something by hand would make it feel more special!

Night took a seat next to Emmalyn, a little bit startled by what she saw. "Hey, Emmalyn, do you really think wizards don't learn basic sewing skills?" She felt comfortable asking that, because the other Hufflepuff was muggleborn as well. "Not even, like, buttons?" She hoped they weren't doing those, that was way too boring for Hogwarts, right?

So while Skylar had achieved an outstanding in her Muggle Studies OWL, she had decidedly dropped the subject considering her disagreements with it and the professor last term too. So why exactly was she here again? Subjecting herself to this madness for a subject she didn't even need?

Who knew?

But at least there weren't water balloons, so that was a good sign, right? Sewing too.... she could handle that.

Taking a seat near the back of the classroom, she did make brief eye contact with the professor, muttering a good morning, as she flipped open her notes. Not that she needed to really take notes in the class, but she could at least pretend, right?

Z had gotten up, had breakfast, made sure you looked perfect as always and headed to class. She held her head high and walked with her usual attitude walk. As she walked into class she looked around for a good spot, but didn't really waste too much time in the doorway. Her eyes moved to the professor and she gave her hand wiggle, "Morning Professor"

Now who to sit near? She always had a plan when finding a seat, but today shew as feeling adventurous and decided to just to randomly pick, so walking towards and empty seat. Sitting her stuff down she took a seat and crossed her legs.

Perhaps Katy should have dropped Muggle Studies for her final year, since the NEWT score was negligible for her future plans, but there was something particularly lacking in her current skill set. Or a lot of somethings, and all of them Muggle. If she was going to live in the world, the big broad world, she needed to understand how to fit in with Muggles.

"Good day, Professor," she gave a vague wave as she dropped into her seat. Oh... my. What was this thing? It was all pokey and sort of ominous looking.

Patrick skirted in, happy for it was his favorite class. Thank the good lord his Mama had made him and his brothers grow up fairly muggle, only using magic when allowed. It gave him time to really learn things about muggle life and living a life that didn’t revolve around magic and made him appreciate magic. He looked at the tables, ah sewing time. He glanced up at Professor Stewart who looked thrilled to be having a sewing class. “Morning Professor.”

He grabbed himself a seat, this time a bit further away from Sky, since she detested this subject and he didn’t need her hate rubbing off on him. He recognized a few of the others but was not about to sit right next to them since he didn’t know them that well.

Daehyun had been focused on staring at the unfamiliar machine on the desk as if it would answer all of his questions if he stared long enough, so he didn't notice anyone approaching him. Only when the seat was occupied did he see a fellow first year lion, and he smiled in greeting at Freja. "Hi!"

Seeing her excitement, he wondered if she knew what the thing was, so he lowered his voice before asking, "Do you have any idea what this is used for?" He supposed they might be fixing clothes, if the threads and other materials were anything to go by, but what was that machine?

... muggles had scary stuff.

Tenacius strode into the classroom with a greeting ready on his lips. The thing is he caught sight of one of those contraptions that got him to wince out of reflex. Those things. Hey he may have an eye for fashion but making them was something else entirely. If something needed to be mended-- #MagicIt.

"Uhm-- Goodmorning Professor." he greeted the brunette, still in his usual cheerful way albeit distracted by the things on the desk. He settled onto a desk, and tried to chase away the unease by focusing more on the fleece fabric. Hmm soft.... but the thread count could be better.

After finally getting a good night's sleep due to the reduced amount of stress dreams, Vi walked into the room and felt wonderful. "Hello Professor Stewart!" she greeted with an upbeat smile. "Are we going to be making something?" She tilted her head towards the sewing machines. Or perhaps learning the history of sewing machines. Her grandmother after all had had an antique singer sewing machine.

With that question, she turned to glance around the room and found Ace. She, naturally, made a bee line for him. "Good morning! Sleep well?" she asked as she took a seat next to him.

It was a lazy day. How she had even gotten out of bed was a mystery. Normally, Kye was a clock. Out of bed, up to breakfast, on to class or the library, tick tick tick. Today however... maybe you could call it a tock kind of day. Well, whatever you wanted to call it, she wished she had coffee. She pulled a sugar quill out, and enjoyed it as she left the Great Hall.

Not to her surprise, she wasn't nearly the first one to class. She was just glad that she wasn't late at this point. "Good morning, Professor," Kye smiled. Hoping she didn't mind the quill as long as Kye finished before class started. That was reasonable right?

She gave her usual smile to those she passed, noticing some looking a bit more crabby than others... She took a seat near the middle. It was then that she actually looked at what Muggle item was in front of them. She forgot the name of it, but she had seen one before at her aunt's house she was pretty sure. It made clothing..? She was pretty sure of that too, and felt it was quite confirmed when she looked at the items with the clothe maker. Fabric and... stuff. Kye mused herself with the thought of making Muggle clothes for each other and having to model them.
Oh, everyone would look quite ridiculous indeed!

Muggle Studies class, yay! Jessi was generally pumped for all of her classes, but learning about muggles was.......really cool. She paused upon entering the classroom for greetings. “Hello Professor”, she said enthusiastically. When she spotted her housemate and fellow first year, Jessi broke into a smile. “Hey Daniel!” As she made her way to her seat, big waves were given to Prefect Vi and angel Skylar.

When she looked around, the Gryffindor took note of all of the items that had been placed around the room. Were they going to sew today? It seemed so and that was an exciting thought. Finding an empty seat, Jessi plopped down. Then she took out her notebook and pen and placed them on the desk. She clasped her hands and placed them on her desk too. Ready. “Let’s get going already”, Jessi thought to herself.

With a good nights rest and a full belly, Rylee made her way into the Muggle Studies lesson just as she did with every lesson. With a bright smile. "Good morning, Professor," she greeted cheerfully waving. Hello, everyone else already seated, you all get a smile and a wave from her as well. Bright blue eyes quickly scanned the room for an empty seat before slipping down into it and setting her bag down at her feet.

Right away her interest was peaked by the items on her desk. A mini sewing machine, different fabrics which happened to look really soft, threads, needles and other things. The small lion cub gave an excited little wiggle, feet swinging back and forth as well. Were they going to be making their own clothing today? Please say they would be getting to design something, please please please!

Daisy entered the classroom and greeted the teacher with a warm smile and a "Good morning, Professor!" before finding a seat and sitting down waiting for the lesson to officially begin.

Muggle Studies was fun and Maxton definitely had the upper hand seeing as his Grandmother was muggle born. He was still waiting for the lesson about video games and television.

Today apparently wasn't that day though, and Max's shoulders slumped when he saw what lined the desks. He'd seen them before and they weren't very exciting.

Still, he was here and he was willing to learn!

"Good morning, Professor," the Slytherin greeted as he walked past her and found himself an empty desk.

Muggle Studies was quite fun, Vivian decided. It was sort of interesting, not having to use magic to do stuff. Though, really, there wasn't much of a challenge to it because she wasn't of age yet, so she did pretty much everything at home without the use of a wand. At least, her mum wanted her to not rely on magic too much. But once the prefect entered the classroom, her first reaction was to stare at the sewing machines.

... What exactly were those? She preferred sewing by hand than those machines. It eliminated the risk of causing serious injuries (those things moved on its own!) so yeah, the prefect was eyeing the machines mostly. It was also quite evident what their lesson would be. She'd survive, sure.

"Good morning, professor," Vivian greeted the woman with a small smile before occupying her usual seat. Her eyes immediately fell back on the sewing machines. Hmm....

Muggle Studies. It was always one of the interesting lessons, ones that you never knew what was going to happen until you got there. And had time to observe the surrounding of the lessons to know what was happening. Also like History of Magic it also caused a lot of debate, which Juni absolutely lived for. You know some people loved drama, but Juni loved debating.

The fourth year had been a good mood for days lately, which was nice compared to the other not so good mood days she’s had. She headed into the classroom. ”Good Morning, Professor.” As she turned she seen all the sewing machines. She let out a loud sigh…

Was it too late leave and just skip this lesson today? Just a reminder of how she felt like she didn’t belong in her family. It wasn’t like her but she quietly headed to back of the room. Greeting no one else, or even looking for people to sit with. She was completely fine working alone in this lesson.

When she found a empty seat in the back far away from anyone else, she flopped down into the seat and slumped down. She was already ready for this lesson to be over with.

There was something about Muggle Studies that always felt like a comfort to Olivia Lynn PhIllips. Whether it be the connection it made the blonde feel to her father's parents, who were also muggles...or just the less complicated skills that required no magic at all.... Actually, it was probably that first. She'd growned up around muggle culture. It was a piece of her childhood. Sacred.

So.....these lessons were kinda scared, by association.

Also..... Were her eyes deceiving her or did she see SEWING MACHINES?! Blinking rapidly, Olivia sorta stood at the threshold of the classroom, remembering vividly (in a magical flashback) when she and Rooney would sew their own costumes, and she'd style his hair and fix his makeup..... It was rare times like those, when everything had been perfect, that reminded her of the precious friendhip they'd shared. Once upon a dream.

It sucked to lose people; casualties to teenage angst and her poor decision making. If only it could be fixed. Mended in some way.... Ugh. Nope, not today, Satan. Not today. Too many wonderful things happening in her life at the moment to dwell.

Speaking of..."Hello, Professor Stewart!" Liv casually approached where a Ravenclaw was sitting to herself. Juniper was her name... If Olivia wasn't mistaken. "Congrats on the role!"
