Honeydukes is the greatest (and only) candy shop in Hogsmeade that never has a quiet day. Knowing that the place is famous for its sugary delights that are too scrumptious to resist, students and adults alike flock to this shop to satisfy their sweet tooth. If you were to peek through the window, you will witness shelves full of hundreds of candy jars and boxes as well as a large crowd of customers greedily snatching them before they all run out.
A million coloured boxes and wrappers capture your attention the moment you step inside the shop. The walls are adorned with green shelving, the counters hold jars and boxes of different candies, and there is even a station for trying out candy samples from chocolate frogs to jelly slugs and anything in between. Feel free to explore the entirety of the stop; just refrain from going down to (or coming out of...) the cellar where crates and boxes full of candy are stored.

Stepping through the door, Emmalyn was greeted with the most wonderful smells. Her eyes danced around the room, trying to take in all of the glorious options as quickly as possible. Her mouth began to water and she took a few more steps into the store. "Where to start?" She quietly whispered as she headed towards the left hand side displays. Dark chocolate fudge, maple fudge, and chocolate dragon? fudge. "I wonder what that is?" she questioned, trying to get a better look.
Making her way around the shop, she found toffee candies and dark chocolate truffles. The dark chocolate was her favorite. There was something unbeatable about the richness of flavor balancing on the side of bitter. She knew she would have to take some back to Hogwarts. Sure, Hogwarts had come of the best food she had ever tasted, but the school was lacking in candy.
That's when she noticed the sample table. Oh how she wanted to sample one of every single candy in the shop. She figured that may be frowned upon, so she stuck with picking her top five to taste. Emmalyn savored every single bite, ultimately deciding she would rather buy the maple fudge over the chocolate dragon fudge.
After making her final selections, she headed to the front counter. "I would like a pound of dark chocolate fudge, a pound of maple fudge, and fifteen dark chocolate truffles, please" She placed the 3 galleons on the counter, slightly hesitating when she realized that would deplete almost all of her funds.

Sometimes, all Drewett ever needed was an excuse to get out of his common room. Although he had made himself known as what others might consider as a recluse, the first year still knew there were so many things out there yet to be discovered and explored. And what better opportunity would it be than to venture the village of Hogsmeade on a weekend?
Well, not just an ordinary weekend. You see, Drew wasn't fond of dressing up, and he didn't know why, of all weekends, did this trip have to fall on a holiday. Oh, and not just any holiday at that. It had to be Halloween. The Ravenclaw had nothing against Halloween, of course, but he didn't quite understand why people go through so much effort to dress up for just one day. However, he decided to at least give it a try perhaps this one year, to force himself into the festive mod, and pulled out his favourite fandom shirt from his trunk. This was, perhaps, the most dressed up look he could ever pull off.
As usual, he had his handy dandy 3x3 cube inside his jacket's pocket, just in case he decided to back out from this trying-to-be-festive-and-social thing he planned for.

Hogsmeade and Halloween. THIS WAS THE BEST WEEKEND EVER! Keenan LOVES Halloween. Okay, who doesn't love this holiday? The candies, horror movies, wearing cool costumes, everything! If only there was a thing called Halloween present, though. But that's fine because he still enjoyed this day! After handing her Hogsmeade permission form to Professor Hirsch, the Ravenclaw put on his Poe Dameron jacket and also the helmet before heading to Hogsmeade. First stop, Honeydukes! What kind of Halloween without having a handful of sweets? So yes, the sweet shop was obviously the first place that he wanted to be right now.
Entering the shop, he saw there was a Hufflepuff girl that he had seen around. Keenan didn't really know her but it didn't make him to feel curious on what she's getting. "Have you tried the fudge? My aunt said those are the best things here." He grinned, even though sometimes he didn't believe his Auntie Ava because she pranked him once with an acid pop. "Oh, hi Drew!" He waved at his buddy (or at least that's what he referred him as.)

Just as she was loading her bag with her purchases, Emmalyn noticed two more students enter Honeydukes. They were older. It felt as if ALL the other students at Hogwarts were older than she was. Then he spoke to her. "Yes, I tried the fudge. It's amazing. I liked the dark chocolate fudge and the maple fudge the best." She answered him with a grin and candy filled crazy eyes. "I think I may have sampled a bit too much candy."
Emmalyn looked down at her costume and wondered if she had picked one that was a bit too childish. Of all of the other student she had run into, they were either not dressed up at all, or in much more grown up costumes. I'm the Queen of Hearts. She blushed a bit and fiddled with the layers of her dress, hoping that the boy would know who the Queen of Hearts was. "So, did you guys see the sample table?"

Drew wasn't entirely sure why he decided Honeydukes was the first place to visit, but figured that maybe he wanted to see how different the sweets here are from the ones sold in Sugarplums in Diagon Alley. He wasn't a frequent visitor of the Alley, anyway, but his visits had always brought him to the infamous sweets shop. He picked up a chocolate frog, tried to see what difference there was, and then returned it. They looked exactly the same. So... what really sets Honeydukes apart?
On top of that, the Ravenclaw didn't meant to eavesdrop on surrounding conversations, but the familiar sound coming from someone he was so sure he knew made him curious. And Drew was right about that, because he saw Keenan just over there with another one of their year mates. Perhaps he could consider him a friend. They shared the same dormitory, and Drew had already taught him a couple of tricks on the cube too, which wasn't something the eleven-year-old would casually give away. "H-hi, Keenan," he greeted and offered a small smile. Not awkward anymore, see? He was dipping his toes in the social scene. And did his dorm mate point the fudges out? He made a mental note to buy a couple if they were worth the mention.
As for the girl Keenan was with, Drew definitely recognised her costume. In fact, he had read that book more than once. It was one of his favourite classics, and a book his mum had introduced to him. That was... years ago, before she passed away. "Alice in W-Wonderland," he said, a little quietly. Definitely the Queen of Hearts. But still, he had no idea why people would go through all the hassle of actually dressing up.

Mention of Emmalyn, open to anyone (Kye will share her candy)
The leaf had had some free candy, sure, but Kye Poison Ivy needed to stock up! She was scanning the shelves, and could feel her mouth watering. This is why you don't go to Honeydukes on a half empty stomach!
It seemed like no time at all when she looked down and noticed that she had picked up a half pound each of milk and dark chocolate fudge, plenty of Drooble's for class, a handful of sugar quills, Fizzing Whizbees, and plenty else.
I should really stop while I'm ahead Kye thought to herself, wondering where she fell on the scale of ridiculousness with this stash.
Kye took another look around and noticed a younger girl all dressed up for Halloween as well. Hey! Now she wasn't the only one... Wasn't that the only way they were allowed to get the free candy?? She needed to find out for next year. She didn't mind dressing up, but she also felt weird being the only one.
"Hey Queenie!" she waved at the younger girl, Emmalyn, recognizing her costume from an old movie she had seen. Even though the girl was younger, it was nice to not be the only one dressed up in here! Where was everyone's holiday spirit??
As much as he was pretending that he was going to pass his NEWTs by doing absolutely nothing, the amount he skipped class meant that Corbin probably required a little more than no revision. Luckily, he had Ethan's notes... And Nathan's notes... And Olivia's notes, but the one thing he was missing were snacks. Yeah, the house elves were brilliant at cooking up a few midnight snacks, but his supply of delicious sweets was running dangerously low.
And although he was blaming Liberty and Sparrow for that, it was most probably due to the fact that he'd eaten it all and forgotten about it.
Oops.
All that meant, though, was that he had an excuse to visit Honeydukes, and so it was his first stop of the trip. Dressed as Quicksilver, in light of the Halloween spirit, he aimed straight for the chocolate bars.

As she was talking to Keenan, another boy approached. He looked a bit younger and was NOT in costume. "Hi there." She greeted "Did you forget your costume?" Emmalyn smiled brightly when he quickly guessed who she was dressed as. "I brought an extra red and white shirt in my bag. We could dress you up like one of the cards." She felt sad that he wasn't dressed up. How was he going to get all the free candy without a costume?
"I'm Emmalyn, by the way" she held her hand out to shake, "I'm sure we have classes together, but I'm horrible at remembering names." She really was the worst at remembering names. Meeting an entire schools worth of people didn't help things. She had just been figuring out everyone at her old school when her Hogwarts letter arrived.

I wasn't sure how many would know what I came as." She eyed her bulging candy bag, seeing that it had even more candy than hers. "What did you pick out? I got two kinds of fudge and a bunch of dark chocolate truffles."
Emmalyn lifted her bag into the air to show how full it was. Then, just for a moment, she wondered if she should have purchased more. It would be some time before she would be able to stock up again. "Do you know where the best trick-or-treating is here?"

There's a free sample table?
That's fascinating!
"Cool! I'll check that later." He beamed. Well, who doesn't love free candy? Now he could prove that the fudge really tasted good, and so were the other homemade candies. As she asked if they dressed up for the sake of Halloween, Keenan couldn't help but blinked. Didn't she noticed the helmet? "Oh, I am Commander Poe Dameron, the best pilot in the whole galaxy. I served as a pilot in the Resistance and also General Leia Organa's most-trusted operatives." He grinned as he explained the costume. "It's from Star Wars by the way."
Not many wizards knew that movie anyway. They're just too uptight to accept muggle pop culture.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Emmalyn. I've seen you around the lessons. I'm Keenan and this is my mate, Drew. We're both Ravenclaws." He introduced himself and Drew. Speaking of him, he turned into his buddy. "Why don't we get different things so later we can share our candies in the dorm? Also, we should check the sample table" Keenan suggested an idea. There was an older girl (Kye) came in who seemed know Emmalyn dressing up in a very pretty costume. He just gave her a smile because you know, it's kind of rude if he didn't.

So... many... people.
Drewett was starting to feel rather conscious with the number of students and visitors in the candy shop today. The Ravenclaw kept his head down so as not to make any awkward eye contact with anyone, especially those he didn't know and the older students. Not that he found them intimidating, but the eleven-year-old preferred to just keep to himself. Why had he decided this was a good idea again? He didn't know. He was quietly regretting the amount of socialisation he needed to put an effort to. But then again, it was his fault for even considering this wouldn't be a disaster.
...Did he what? Drew looked at the first year girl, an eyebrow slightly raised. Anyone who had read Percy Jackson would know that he was definitely dressed up. He was no Greek god in costume, but with his jacket unzipped, his bright orange Camp Halfblood shirt could be seen. He pulled a bit at his shirt to show the other girl that he made even the slightest effort to dress appropriately for Halloween, despite it not being up to par with her standards. "N-no, i-it's okay..." he said, just as quietly as how he pointed out her costume. He knew what the cards in Alice in Wonderland were, but he didn't need that much attention drawn to him. That wasn't his thing at all.
And did he mind that she forgot his name? Nope. In fact, it meant that his avoiding attention stunt worked. Attention drew in drama, and that was the kind of thing that he didn't want especially on his first year, or any year at Hogwarts. "Drew," he said, smiling a tiny bit at the girl, who now had a name. But Keenan had beat him to it, so Drew nodded quietly instead. As for the hand shake, he eyed her hand for about three seconds before hesitantly stretching out his to. "N-nice to meet y-you." Emmalyn. He'd remember that name. Aside from his dorm mates, Kieran, Stefan, the Stemp House residents, professors and staff members, he didn't know much people at Hogwarts, so remembering the Hufflepuff's name should be easy. It wasn't like he forgot things so quickly.
But yeah, Keenan's suggestion gave me an opportunity to shut up and stop stuttering, so Drew simply nodded again and obliged. "F-fudge, yes?" The Ravenclaw said. He called dibs on the fudge, and maybe some of the gums over there... or truffles. Whatever could fit his budget for today. Besides, he didn't mind sharing especially with his friends... and maybe some random strangers too, sure, if it meant avoiding to have to talk to them.

Honeydukes was the bestest shop in all of Hogsmeade. Which was why Rylee had made it a point to stop in as soon as she came across the shop. Slipping inside the stop she looked around with purpose, her blue eyes scanning all the other students around her. She knew why she was here and what it was she wanted.
Good thing she was smaller than most. Ducking around someone much older and taller than herself the firstie headed up one aisle and down another. Her destination... SUGAR QUILLS. Lots of them. All the flavors. Weaving her way through the crowd didn't seem to bother her, in fact it was nice. She gave pause every time she saw someone she knew or at least recognized, lifting her hand and waving at them or just giving a bright smile.
Only did she come to a grinding halt when she reached the sugar quills. Grabbing herself a handful or two and setting them into the basket she had grabbed when she entered the shop. Now that she had what she needed it was off the the counter... maybe. "Hi! I really really like your costume!" she exclaimed stopping mid-skip when she spotted a girl (Emmalyn) about her age dressed as the Queen of Hearts. With a bright cheery grin she smiled at the others that were standing there too. "Hello!" Yup. She wasn't about to be rude now.

Emmalyn immediately blushed cherry red when the boys explained their costumes. Sure she had heard of Star Wars, but considering her sugar induced crazy brain, things weren’t computing as they should. Now the other boys costume, Drew, well, she still had no idea who that was supposed to be. He didn’t even have any glitter, armour, or makeup. “Oh, yes, those are great costumes.” She quickly replied in attempt to recover from her blunder.
After his introductions, she realized that she didn’t know very many Ravenclaws. That was something she would need to rectify and soon. “Well, it’s a pleasure to have run into both of you today. Keenan, Drew.” She nodded their respective directions as she said their names. A trick her mother had taught her to help remember names better. “ I think it’s a fantastic idea to get an assortment and share. I do love candy.”
Just as she finished her sentence, another girl approached their group. She immediately recognized this fellow first year from several of her classes. "Thanks! Your costume is fantastic! I love the wings." She replied at the complement of her costume. She noticed the large pile of sugar quills in Rylee's basket. "Oh, sugar quills. I like those too. I ended up buying far more fudge than I probably should have and ran out of money for more."
Noticing another girl scanning the shelves and dressed up, Emmalyn turned to greet her. "Yay! You are in costume!" A really good one too. "Great guess!
Kye smiled and gave a cheery enough, "Hello" to those who acknowledged her, even though she was sure none of them actually knew each other. Hey, whatever, she was good at playing nice.
Kye gave the girl (Emmalyn, she had heard someone call her?) a smile, and could imagine how frustrating it was when no one knew what you were elaborately dressed as!
"I saw a movie of it at my Muggle cousin's house when I was a kid! There's no mistaking the Queen of Hearts for me." Kye made a mental note to see if the library had Alice in Wonderland, as she had meant to read it years ago and completely forgot until now.
Kye couldn't help but be amused at Queenie's reaction to her bag. "Well, I always stock up on Halloween for late night snacks," Kye laughed. "For now, I have a bit of fudge, gum, varying assortments, and my absolute favorite... sugar quills!..... Don't judge."
She could tell this wouldn't be an issue, when Emmalyn asked about free candy, which made Kye decide that Emmalyn was definitely good in her book!
"Well, believe it or not, there is a very excited dinosaur handing out candy at Scrivenshaft's. I'm certain you can get a nice handful of candy there... that's the only place I went to before this!"
She was a sucker (no pun intended) for quills and cool ink, so Kye had stocked up there before getting her candy fix. She still had more exploring to do, though, that was for sure!

Rylee smiled. "I really like that movie lots... especially the rabbit he's so funny!" In just about every movie and book her favorite character was an animal if they played a large enough role to get a good feel for them. The smile on her small freckled face widened at the compliment to her costume. "Thanks! The wings are my favorite part too!" That being said she flapped her arms just enough to make the wings on her costume 'flutter'.
At the mention of sugar quills she looked down into her basket for a second before looking at Emmalyn and the others and giggled. "I always buy as many as I can whenever I get the chance to. Sugar quills are my absolute favorite candy ever! I don't mind sharing some once I've paid for them if you'd like some." The boys were welcome to the sugar quills also of course.

Scarlett's parents had been...suspiciously quiet this past week. Usually they wrote to her weekly, just to update her on what was happening with the family and with her father's newest book. They usually did a joint letter to her and Clay, and a separate one to Evie, who received the letter in her own common room. It was still weird to Scarlett that her younger sister didn't live in the same dorm as her. She was beyond excited for her sister to be a Gryffindor, but...it was still odd to her. They were HUFFLEPUFFS. That was their THING.
Feeling kind of...meh, like something was off due to her parents not owling her, she decided to head to the candy store. Her nerves had been on such high alert lately, between Quidditch tryouts and studying for NEWTs, so she deserved this. She had been trying to cut down on her sugar, especially since she was like an ATHLETE or something now (until she heard about her status with the team) but people were allowed cheat days! Plus it was Halloween. It was practically a crime to not eat candy today.
She walked in and made a beeline for the jelly slugs, when someone's BRIGHT hair caught her eye. She blinked and took a moment to realize that it was...Corbin? Why was his hair like, WHITE? Completely forgetting the fact it was Halloween, she wondered if for some reason, stress had caused his hair to just turn bright WHITE thanks to NEWT studying or something. If so...that was hilarious. Grinning, she walked up to him, eyes still on his hair. "Nice hair," she said with a smile, figuring his reaction would help her determine what the heck was up with all that.

A day trick-or-treating could not go better especially if you decided to spend the day with your best friend. Despite not being a fan of sweets from since she was younger, Rachel had seen to it that she took part in the event. It was a bonus to dressing up- this year's selection happened to be a fairy godmother like the one from the Muggle fairy tale Cinderella.
"I hope they have some new products,'' she told her shy friend. "It's always fun to try the samples. Do you need to get anything in particular, Garreth?'' The seventh year spun so that her dress twirled around her. She loved it when it did that!
Rylee smiled. "I really like that movie lots... especially the rabbit he's so funny!" Emmalyn smiled back as Rylee spoke of the rabbit. It was one of her favorite characters in the movie too. "Oh, the wings flutter!" She giggled and watched the wings move, imagining they were real. "I bet there's a charm we could put on your wings to make them flutter like real wings."For just a moment she considered pulling out her wand and trying out a spell, but thought better of it and busied her hands with her candy bag.
"Thank you for the offer to share your candy. I've never had a sugar quill." She thought about all of the candy she hand sampled and wished she would have tried one. "You are welcome to my fudge and truffles too." It was working out quite well. At the rate she was going, she would have candy for months between her and her friends.
"Have you gone trick-or-treating yet? I was going to do that soon, but I'm not sure where the best place to start is." Emmalyn hadn't been paying attention before they left for Hogsmeade. They were probably told where and how to get the free candy.

"I don't think so" Garreth smirked, adjusting the oversized top-hat of his Ringmaster Costume. "I'm alright with whatev-" he stopped himself before finishing that last word and tapped his cane on Rachel's shoulder. "Although, on second thought..." he pointed the cane towards one of the nearby displays which looked fit to burst with several different types of toffee.
"You know I have a weakness for toffee." he winked at his friend. It's true, Garreth had always had a soft spot for the soft stuff, but he hadn't had access to any for such a long time, one could be forgiven for not remembering. So rarely did he eat candy of any sort that Halloween always came as a bit of a shock. "What about you?"

Rylee nodded. "Uh-huh but only when I move around to make them flutter." She had thought the very same thing about casting a charm on the wings to make them more real but she didn't know the right one. "I think there is but I don't know it and I didn't want to bug anyone to get them to help me." Normally she had no trouble in asking anyone for help but everyone had been busy with their own costumes today.
GASP!
Blink. "Never? Not even once?" Rylee was indeed very surprised and was DEFINITELY going to share with Emmalyn now. "Sugar quills are the best and come in lots of flavors." Once she had one she would love them too. "Thanks!" She smiled brightly. Sharing candy was the fastest way of getting lots of different kinds.
"Just a little. I've been mostly wandering around and talking to everyone I see," she giggled. "We can go together and stop at every shop so we don't miss anything?" That was her plan to begin with honestly. Having a friend to come along with her just made it even more fun.

Maybe they could figure out a spell after they got back to Hogwarts. That would give them more time to test things out without an audience. She didn't like tying out spells around others since they usually didn't turn out the best until she had ample time to practice.
Several flavors?? Yes, she was quite interested in the sugar quills now. "Nope, never ever tried them." She was becoming more and more thankful that she ran into Rylee. The boys were fine, but they didn't seem too into costumes or candy. She shifted her giant bag of fudge and truffles, feeling the weight and determining that even with sharing with Rylee, it would take a least a month to get through it all. Then add the trick-or-treating candy to that, they could easily make it to Christmas.
"That sounds like a great plan!" She said in response to the trick-or-treating. "I bet with your cute costume and mine, we can get loads of candy." Yes, their costumes were far better than most she had seen that day. She wondered what it was about getting older that made kids lose their creativity. She wasn't going to let that happen to her. "What shop would you like to start at? Do you think we can find any professors out and about handing out candy? I bet they have the good candy."
Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna
The brunette walked towards the sweet shop with a steady gait, but it wasn’t the inviting door with the escaping intoxicating smells she aimed for. She didn't seem to care about the occasional student or students loitering around the busy location. The glass window of Honeydukes was alight with display upon display of brightly colored candies, much like the shelves that could be seen within, the metallic wrappings of some of them catching the light of the sun outside the store. However Cassie didn’t blink as the reflections appeared in her vision….no…her gaze was still looking straight at the clear, clean surface even as she lifted the paint brush from its previous home dipped in the can held within her other hand.
Followed by the almost mechanical moving of her arm as she applied bristles to glass and added the first fresh red marks upon the window. Swish upon slow swish upon the glass. The wet paint looking as if it was seeping in and spreading as her hand and the brush moved along the surface, with the occasional heavy streaks threatening to drip and distort the almost graceful up-swept wings being drawn upon the surface.

Rylee's attention was very quickly pulled from worrying about making the wings on her costume flutter to the simple fact that her new friend had never had a sugar quill. This had to change. Now!
"Well we'll just have to fix that problem. All I have to do is go pay for these and than you can try anyone you want." The boys were always welcome to her candy as well if they wanted some.
"Uh-huh! No one will be able to resist to adorable first years that are all dressed up," she giggled. They were sure to get tons of goodies today. Um.. "We can start at the very next shop and work our way through them all. That way we don't miss any?" Yup. Only fool proof plan she had right now. "I saw Professor Marchard out and about earlier so I bet some of the other professors are around too!"
With her basket of sugar quills she made way for the front of the shop. "I just need to pay for these real quick and then we can get going!" She smiled at Emmalyn and the boys to follow her if they wanted to.

Emmalyn loved Rylee's trick-or-treating plan and was very excited to try a sugar quill. Of course, she may wish she hadn't since she would probably love them and that would be yet another kind of candy she would need to save up for. Maybe she would be able to find a part time job over the summer break. That would help her get a broom and CANDY!
"The plan sounds great! I'll follow you to the counter to pay, then we can head out for trick-or-treating." She picked up her bag and tied the top so none of her treats would fall out. She then pulled out a giant pillowcase that had been folded in her front pocket. She was ready for more candy.
On the way to the counter, she eyed the boys. They had been very quite and she wondered if all of the girl chatter was a bit much for them. Plus, neither one of their costumes were sparkly or had wings. Maybe they were a bit sad that they weren't more dressed up?

Rachel giggled as she felt the tap on her shoulder and turned to face Garreth. He was amusing with his huge top hat. He reminded her of a ringmaster at a circus. Her brown eyes followed the cane which was now pointing towards... "Toffees! Perfect. We'll get you a healthy amount. Though, of course, not so much so as to get you hyper.
"They're your kryptonite.'' Rachel indeed knew just how much Garreth loved toffees. "Hmm. I think I'll get some licorice wands. Let's get your toffee first. I need to ensure you don't get too many.'' Because Rachel was that type of friend, the one who would always look out for her bestie; she'd been doing that since their first year anyway. She moved towards the toffees but out of her peripheral vision, she noticed a movement at the windows. Just what was Cassie doing?
