| | Divination Stairwell
The Divination stairwell is one of the largest staircases in the entire Hogwarts castle. It is a narrow, spiralling set of stairs that is accessible from a corridor on the seventh floor. At the top of the staircase is a small landing with a trap door on the ceiling, from which a ladder can be ascended to allow access to the Divination Classroom. A portrait of a group of women in crinolines hangs near the bottom of the stairwell, while a painting of sinister-looking monks near the top. Rumor has it that it takes five minutes to get from the bottom of the stairwell to the Fat Lady's Corridor.
Thinking of the students safety Professor Vance has had the caretaker put up some charms in place to make sure no unlucky student falling over the staircase by accident will get hurt. At the bottom of the stairwell a small resting group of a handful of pink beanbags and cushioned benches can be found and used by anyone going up or down on the stairwell. |

Blink.
Blink. "Glady's, Rosemary i can't see a thing! This is absurd! Has the caretaker lost track of where we hang?" Petronella complains loudly as she shifts around in her purple crinoline inside the portrait. If only a student come to their cleaning aid?

So after the feast and her run-in with both Liam and Cameron, Zia was taking a walk to see what boys people were around. She could use to talk to Juni or even Chloe, but she hadn't found them. Soon she found herself up in the Divination area. Her thoughts were all over the place and something felt like it was pushing her this way.
Could divination help her with her thoughts? She highly doubted it, but the woman most likely had tea so maybe it wouldn't be a full loss and to think about it she wondered if she could score a business deal for her dad. Vance probably used tea a lot and in classes, there was reading of tea leaves, why couldn't it be from Valla Teas. The contract could be so amazing and the fact that she Zita Vala was the one to think about it made it that much better.
Her thoughts were interrupted though hearing a voice. "Hello? Is everything alright?" She glanced at the paintings thinking it was weird to see so much dirt on them. Had the elves taken the summer off two? She couldn't imagine them actually doing that so she glanced around and then back at the portrait.

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent One of the first things Gunnar wanted to do at Hogwarts was to explore everything that was here. Not only would it help him get around to classes and the like, but it just seemed like there were so many interesting things to discover. He was just really good at getting lost right now.
He somehow found himself near the very top of the castle and started wandering around. He knew Hudson's common room was around here somewhere, but maybe he should have asked someone to come with him - Nerissa or maybe Aaron? Another time maybe, since it was kind of too late for that now.
The eleven year old soon heard questioning voices coming from the nearby stairwell and he looked over that way, soon starting up the stairs to see what was going on. It didn't really occur to him that he might be interrupting someone, though he only saw one person when he started climbing. He couldn't remember her name, if he ever knew it, but he did recognize the older girl as a fellow Slytherin. "Hi.." he started, with a tentative smile to the girl, not immediately aware of any talking portraits. "What's going on?"

Wriggling around inside the frame and elbowing her friends in the process Petronella called out excitedly at the sound of a girl voice. "Oh, hi! I can't see you, but whoever you are, can you please be a gem and remove the dirt from our frame?" Beside her Gladys and Rosemary gave Petronella long hurt looks as they quipped in chorus and massaged their sides. "It'd make Petronella less annoying too." They heard a boy's voice too, but left it to the girl to answer his question.

| Both of you Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Still eyeing the portrait trying to figure out why the elves hadn't actually cleaned it. Could something be wrong with it or was it just lazy elf summer and they hadn't gotten up to the Divination tower. Either way, Zita was interrupted by someone else. Giving a smile to the first year she looked back at the portrait. "Hello" Was the first year lost maybe being clear up in the tower?
Though he could be exploring and Zita could fully understand that. She enjoyed exploring the castle when she was younger. Her thoughts went to her adventures with Liam and that was in the past where she wanted to leave the thoughts. "Oh I was just walking around and this portrait started to talk or trying to get my attention, I'm not fully sure yet. I don't understand why it so dusty." Honestly it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, which was very suspicious to Zita.
Pulling out her wand she pointed it towards the portrait and did the movement, "Scourgify" Now that it was clean could they maybe see who was in it and why they hadn't been cleaned.

Petronella squinted and squinted trying to see out through the dust and dirt at the students when suddenly it was like a someone pulled up a curtain and she could see again! Bursting with gratiude and appreciation the purple crinole, plum senior woman exclaimed from the portrait frame. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you dear you are a life saver! What is your name? I'm Petronella." Gesturing to her friends in blue and red crinoles that still looked like sour apples Petronella introduced. "And these are my friends Gladys and Rosemary." |

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Even though there weren't any magical portraits in his home, Gunnar was fairly accustomed to them. He had seen them before coming to Hogwarts and now that he was here, they seemed to be everywhere. It just probably wouldn't be his first thought when he heard voices. But when the girl mentioned the portraits speaking, he shifted his attention to the ones on the wall. Oh. They were really dusty. No wonder he hadn't immediately noticed anyone in them talking. "It is really dusty," he said, as he watched her use a cleaning spell to get rid of the grime. He certainly didn't know that one yet, but hopefully he'd learn it soon. Or maybe she could help him with it. He watched her carefully so he could try it himself. "That's better," he said with a little smile as the portrait's inhabitants came better into view. "Are you ladies always so dusty?" he asked as the one introduced them all. "And my name's Gunnar."

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... She had felt the smaller Slytherin watch her as she did the spell and she gave a smile, "You'll do that one in class at some point. It's always a first to learn in the first year." Z wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't his next charms class really. Her eyes moved back to the portrait as it spoke. Portraits didn't know who she was? There was a dramatic gasp as her hand made it to her chest, rude portraits rude. "I am Zita Valla and this cute firstie is..."
What was his name again?
She looked at him, "Why don't you tell her your name instead of me." That was a way to cover it up, yes? Listening to his question Z did wonder the same thing, the portraits weren't usually dusty, but she had noticed the bathroom didn't have toilet paper in it either, were the elves on strike or something?

Excitedly Petronella quipped as she clapped her hands. "Zita and Gunnar, how adorable names you both have. Just adorable. Thank you again for cleaning the dust and dirt covered frame. It makes it hard to keep up with the castle gossip. Is anything juicy going on?" Beside her Gladys and Rosemary turned their backs to Petronella with dissaproval written all over their faces. They hated gossip.
Hearing the boy's question Petronella was quiet for a moment before she answered a little evasively. "Oh i don't know why were always dusty. Maybe the elves thinks this tower is haunted and avoid it? There are stories. Or the caretaker has just forgotten us...." |
