| | Aurors Run by: Alexa Cambridge - Senior Auror Evangeline Shacklebolt - Auror
The dark blue Auror Booth is right across from the Professional Quidditch Booth neath the entrance of the great hall, perhaps they knew that the two most popular booths needed to have the easier access to get too. Not to mention the snacks are close to it as well. The table itself is fairly sparse, with just some brochures about the YATI program and the requirements to become an Auror.
Let’s face it though, the two woman manning the booth will be who everyone wants to see. Alexa Cambridge and Evangeline Shacklebolt will be there to answer your questions and talk all about becoming an Auror, just don’t crowd please, there will be time enough to talk to the two Aurors.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Addison Ayers First Year | Kye had no idea what to expect from this job fair, but she felt like maybe this is what they should do when they were choosing electives! Meet the professor, see if they're crazy you like the subject matter... Why wasn't this a thing?! Kye decided to empty her bag except for a few items to take notes if she so chose, and headed up to the Great Hall. She could hear the voices echoing through, the voices of more adults than usual for SURE. Kye felt a little hesitant, as she could feel the sensation of being overwhelmed come over her. She entered the Hall and just stopped to take it in for a moment. The first booths were ones for alchemy on one side, and journalism on the other. These weren't really her strong suits... Should she stop at every table? No... She'd pass by later if she wanted to. The next two were Quidditch and Auror... Okay, yes she loved Quidditch but Auror?? That was way cooler (although she wouldn't say that to her team).
Not seeing anyone else quite there yet, Kye approached the Auror booth and greeted the two women before her. She took a breath, not wanting to sound meek to aurors because come on... "Hello," she greeted, smiling at each in turn. Ermmm...... where to start? "My name is Kye, it's nice to meet you both." Yes, because they care who you are, Kye... Well, one day they might! She reassured herself. "I was wondering... how you became an Auror? Like, did you have to have certain experience or anything on your resume and then apply directly?" Oh, how she would LOVE to hear Auror stories! |

Was it just her, or did the castle and the students get smaller every time she came back? Serious question. Alexa Cambridge could remember the days she got lost in a vast castle like this one but when you'd seen so much of the world...suddenly Hogwarts was more like a room. One she'd already learned the many nooks and crannies for and had spent 7 years of her life exploring.
Still, there was that nostalgia every time she set foot back in the place. By now, most of the people--if not all--and the things that made it home for her were long gone but the structure itself held several stories.
Lex leaned against the booth she and Shacklebolt where stationed at. Was this a bad time to remember that disaster of a Valentine's Prefect Event where she'd been stuck at a booth with Kinsley? Kisses for Kindess, what a joke that'd been.
Oh but look, the first to stop by. The Senior Auror nodded her head in greeting to the girl but did not the return the sentiment. Lex waited to decided whether she found it a pleasure meeting anyone before she told them as much, just in case. Words were the hardest things to take back without a memory charm and usually it wasn't worth the effort. "I'd tell you it's that easy but it's not." YATI training alone could weed out the ones who had it from the ones who were destined to be live bait. "You'll need O's but if you can't swing that, don't expect an acceptance with anything less than an 'E' particularly in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Potions." There were others but like hell if she remembered. "Submit those and an application and if the YATIL's impressed, you get to join the ranks of the YATI. Those are the trainees who get put through rigorous tests and training. Survive those for three years impressively enough and you'll be an Auror." And would graduate to having a desk in the office. There was nothing necessarily wrong with sitting on the floor but there was just something about graduating to that desk and knowing it was all yours. "I take it your interested."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Addison Ayers First Year | Yea that was a lot... but Kye had been expecting that. She wrote some notes as Ms. Cambridge laid a few things out for her. She was pretty confident in DADA, but she would have to make sure she didn't start slacking in potions, like she'd prefer. Just kidding not really. Ah well. It was the motivation she needed! "I'm quite interested actually, yes. Three years of training sounds like it's a lot of work, but with the career in question I'm actually almost surprised that there's not even more... Well... Is there? I mean, if you pass as a YATI and become an auror, is there still other training available or are you on your own past that point? I mean, dark forces or whatever you want to call them can evolve over time, right?" How did they figure out new situations like that? Man, Aurors were so cool. That was quite a respectable position. She wondered how much action (and of what nature) Aurors got to see on a regular basis... Or did they not see very much? Well either way, if someone told you they were an Auror, you should be impressed. |

| Arts TRANSPONSTER! Right, so Matt DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ANY OTHER BOOTHS. This was probably the only one he'd visit because DUH, he knew what he was going to do for the rest of his life already. In fact, he had known that since he was like, five.
So the Gryffindor went straight to that booth, which didn't take much time at all as it was literally one of the first ones. He hadn't had to dodge a lot of his fellow students either because he was EARLY. "HELLO!" The seventh year greeted them AURORS loudly cheerfully. He stood there, grinning widely and waiting for all of the information they could give him. "What's the YATI programme like?" Was his first question of mmmmaaaannnnyyyyyyy. Tell him EVERYTHAAAANG!!!! |

| Stephanoodle || Adorable Nerd After looking at all the booths, she was interested in the Aurors booth as well. She made her way towards it and grabbed a brochure because Zae had a interest in the Dark Arts. It was one of Zarinas favorite subjects. She began to read through and made it just in time to hear the question from one of the students. So nothing less an E on her OWLS if she wanted to be an auror. Well that didn't seem too hard. Zae even piped in and said, "I am interested in the training." Did she have any more questions. "I am in the dueling club and I was curious about the spell work with being an auror. Have you guys encountered unforgivable curses while out on the job?" I mean she needed to know what she was getting into.

Evangeline was both excited and nervous about the opportunity to be at the job fair, promoting her profession and passion of being an auror, something she had wanted since she was about 15. It was a dream she discovered while at Hogwarts herself. It was very strange to be back again. Everyone seemed so young, but that was her some time ago...
The students came quickly and Evangeline tried to prepare herself to inspire those with a strong backbone and... gently let down those who didn't.
The young boy with the loud entrance made her blink a few times, a small smile plastered on her face, reminding herself to be nice, yet honest. And she'd have to be honest with this one, because... Well, if he was asking what the YATI training was like, did he have any clue yet? "They are rigorous," she began. "Very challenging. Gruelling, tiring, and very frustrating at times. But they're amazing, as well. You get to learn so much more and it's very rewarding in the end." Yes, she hoped she explained that well... "Are you interested in becoming an Auror?" she asked with a small smile. Because he COULD just be curious and not at all wanting to go down that career path. Quote:

Evangeline took a breath and contemplated her response. "As an Auror, we are faced with many difficult spells and situations. As such... yes, we have encountered them and we will continue to face them as long as we are in this career." Was that a satisfying answer? |

It was true. It really did and he was looking forward even more to leave Hogwarts already and START his TRAINING. Merlin, why did it have to take so LONG?
It was very rewarding in the end, she said. "I bet it is! I take it you lot are super busy." It was kind of like a question but not really. Of course they were. Matt was kind of hoping they'd share a bit of their day-to-day activities as Aurors, but he supposed they were all either super secret or just so different from day to day that they wouldn't be able to pinpoint specific things.
If he was interested in becoming an Au-- if he was INTERESTED??? "HECK, yeah!! Can't think of anything else to do with my life, to be quite honest with you." And he MEANT it, yep. He didn't want an easy, boring life, thank you very much.
OH, and he thought of something else to ask now. "What's one piece advice you'd give for someone who's going to apply for training soon?" The boy asked, curious to see what this lady thought would be the most crucial thing. "Apart from getting excellent NEWTs results, that is." He already knew about that. |

Zarina was so curious, "As for an auror because I know it is a broad term, are there different types of aurors you can be?" Ya know she had to be knowledgeable about this. I mean all Zarina could think of is being a detective or a cop. Those careers go hand in hand but she was clueless how the wizards worked it out. "I know in the muggle world you can be like a detective or a police officer and those are different yet fall under the same branch.." She turned her head to this next kid who seemed so full of life. She was annoyed slightly but he had good questions that Zae would listen in on.

Well either way, if someone told you they were an Auror, you should be impressed. She didn't think the three years sounded like enough. Well, she wasn't entirely wrong but "The three years are filled with rigorous training, the type most people wouldn't be able to endure let alone pass. Some barely scrape through, most drop out and find a regular day job after they realize what all it entails." Three years of all that was definitely enough. "But like you said, the dark wizards won't stop at whatever level we graduated the YATI program with. They've got bigger, better things to do. It's on you to decide if you'll refine your training and keep getting better or die the first time you head out on a mission that involves more than patrolling the streets for petty crime." As the YATI were sometimes allowed to do...if they were lucky and someone felt like taking them out on patrol with them. "It's really up to you, how much you learn and how much you wanna live but I don't mean you should be dead scared or anything. You've just gotta decide that you wanna be so good that you get the job done without anyone getting in your way." It sucked to be the YATI that graduated and felt that was the end of any training they would ever need. Those....those weren't the sort she took on missions with her and for good reason. Who needed dead weight?
Sure, she'd consider it if she needed live bait, but some of 'em couldn't even manage that. "There's still plenty of training available. Best advice would be to stay off any high horses and take them while you can." Admittedly, she liked trainings. They were entertaining, engaging, allowed for mistakes that wouldn't cost her kid a mother and with the right party they were bloody brilliant. ...the physical ones anyway.

| Dem Carters | even 🕊🕊 have pride | | Expecto PAWtronum 🐈 | U-NA-GI Was anyone really surprised that the first booth that Ronan stopped at was the Auror one? Though he had plenty of other sources available to him (he knew a few of the French Aurors thanks to his mum), he wanted to know what being one here in Britain was like. Not that he was particularly set on doing his training in Britain.
He stood and listened as the two women answered Valkyrie, Matt and some other Slytherin whose name escaped him right then's questions, and then asked one of his own. "Are you required to know at least some basics of other departments in the MLE?" He knew that his mum required it of her aurors as a just in case of emergency thing and to bring in a spirit of understanding between the departments "Also, is a basic knowledge of curse-breaking required?" Just in case one runs into a cursed object.

Just in case one runs into a cursed object. "It's more common sense than a requirement." She quipped, turning to the next of them to come over to the Auror booth. "The boss man's never walked the office shoving us down the lift to go mingle but I don't reckon anyone can work for an organization and not at least have a basic idea of how the other departments function." That height of ignorance was borderline negligent if you asked her. "A large part of being an Auror is constant vigilance. No one has to tell us to go learn about the others. It's more likely a formal complaint gets filed about Law Enforcement sticking their noses where they don't always belong."
Curse breaking was yet another rule that wasn't so hard and fast. Lex thought it over a moment, remembering the few basic classes on curse breaking they had at Hogwarts but outside of that....... "Not necessarily. If you didn't know it before, chances are, you won't graduate the YATI program under that same predicament." Hardly. "It'll help if you're in a pinch and need to get something done right then and there but you won't be turned down if you start out not knowing it. Aurors on the job are another thing entirely. You'd be surprised how much you pick up on the job." Things that usually ended up being the difference between life and death.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Addison Ayers First Year | Hmmm yes well that all made sense. Of course, Kye wouldn't be able to imagine just what would be presented during those years of training, but Auror was definitely one of her top contenders still. It would be very dangerous, but still! Imagine if they could sit in on a training day! That would be so cool. She wondered if she would be able to get through the training or if she'd get kicked out.... Oh she hoped not. |

I just know there is a place called Borgin and Burkes and I did look in there and...I'm like actual dark wizards use this stuff?" I mean what other objects could there be that were illegal. As for his question about a piece of advice, Evangeline thought about it for a moment before answering carefully. "Take it seriously. Don't get overconfident. But take it seriously and work hard and you'll be okay." She nodded at him with a small smile and then waited to see if there was anything else he wanted to ask. Oh, deep questions. Matt was actually getting used to those by now. "I like the idea of ridding the Wizarding World of Dark Wizards." Would that ever be 100% accomplished? Who knew. But he was willing to give it a try. With help, obviously. He KNEW he wouldn't be able to do it all on his own. He wasn't THAT stupid. "I like being in risky situations." The seventh year shrugged. Was that bad? And his PASSION? "I do enjoy duelling." The Gryffindor said after a second or two of consideration. Would 'exploding things' be an acceptable answer as well? Matt didn't think it would. 'Take it seriously. Don't get overconfident.' And work hard, basically. Hm. Interesting. Matt did stop to think about those for a moment and then nodded."Sounds legit!" He grinned at the older lady. "By the way, how old were you when you became a fully qualified Auror?" |

I just know there is a place called Borgin and Burkes and I did look in there and...I'm like actual dark wizards use this stuff?" I mean what other objects could there be that were illegal. Zarina couldn't imagine. She had to commend the girl for her curiosity, but... Evangeline couldn't give it all away. There was a line that couldn't be crossed. And this girl was still fairly young. But at the same time she didn't want to talk down to her or sound patronizing. "I take down the bad guys, to put it lightly. I also do some tracking. I dabble in a lot of it. Missions, however... that's top secret." She added a quick smile, hoping she'd understand that she couldn't talk too much about it.
Borgin and Burkes however... Evangeline sighed a little, reflecting a little on her first trip to Knockturn Alley. "Don't go wandering down in Knockturn, alright? You'll get yourself in trouble." Evangeline happened to have ran into someone who became her partner in the field, but really, what were the odds of that happening of that to this girl too? "Dark wizards don't need to shop at Borgin and Burkes... Listen," Evangeline stepped closer, lowering her voice, suddenly finding a sense of... responsibility for this girl. Perhaps it was because she saw a little bit of herself in the image of a young Hogwarts student, fascinated with big spells and dark alleys. "Someday you'll make a great auror. But right now, don't get ahead of yourself. Pay attention in class, go to duelling club and do your best. Focus on your dream and it'll happen." She offered her a small, encouraging smile. "And if you need any motivation, you can send me an owl through the Ministry." Because when she was building her dream of being an auror, it was nice that she had somebody on the inside to give a good word. If it weren't for Dakest, she wouldn't be there. Quote:

The seventh year shrugged. "By the way, how old were you when you became a fully qualified Auror?" This boy, however, she was having a harder time taking seriously. She was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, though. Perhaps it was because he seemed to think the world could really be rid of dark wizards that he seemed a little naive. But at least they could try.
Evangeline smiled, a little amused at his like of being in risky situations. "Alright, but don't be getting too cocky now; that'll get you someday." Every auror in training had their moments, though. Duelling though, that was good. Evangeline approved of duelling club. How old was she when she became an auror? "I was twenty-one. I did three years of training before I took my tests. The average is four." So it was not bad to take four years, in fact most people did. |

Skyler wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do. So she explored everything. Right now, she was at the auror's section.

She wondered if she would be able to get through the training or if she'd get kicked out.... Oh she hoped not. Quote:

By the looks of it, she'd gotten her point across well enough and it looked like the girl now had a few things to think about. Good. There was nothing worse than a bright eyed, bushy tailed new YATI disillusioned by all the glamour that supposedly came with being an Auror, who possessed no real knowledge of what they were getting into and if she ended up seeing her over on Level 2 in a few years, she would hope that it was after a bit of careful, honest thinking. "Once you get into it, though, there's no other job out there that can compare." Lex couldn't see herself doing anything else. How did she wake up one day and NOT have some dangerous mission off somewhere that could mean not going home? It just didn't seem possible.
Hazel eyes followed another student (Skyler) as she approached the table. This one was a quiet one. That was fine too. "Take a few brochures. Let us know if you've got any questions. No better time to ask them."
Just look how accommodating she was being. She'd be sure to reward herself later. Talking to a bunch of kids who may or may not even end up in Law Enforcement later one wasn't exactly how she liked to get her blood pumping.
