Connected to the Armour Gallery, the Trophy Room is where all awards, trophies, cups, plates, shields, statues, and medals are put on display behind crystal glass. Dating back centuries are the numerous achievements that have been made by those who've walked within these walls. When the sunlight shines through the windows and hits the glass just right, the items and names within glimmer and shine oh so bright.
Hundreds of names can be read here, ranging from the great Harry Potter, teachers and ministers of the past, many of today's famous Quidditch players, and more. Carefully looking at all of the names on each individual nameplate, some of you just might even find your parents' names here. Feel free to admire and strive to get your name listed somewhere in this room before you graduate. Just don't press your fingers against the glass or think about having a late-night duel here. You will be sitting here every night for detention until each trophy and plaque in sight is polished to perfection if you do.

Olivia had found herself in a wandering mood and somehow found herself in the Trophy Room. She hadn't really spent much time inside of the room but soon found herself gazing at the trophies and reading all of the names listed by each trophy. Soon enough, she found the Prefects list and her blue eyes searched for familiar names. Vi was careful not to touch the glass or knock anything over. She didn't want to end up losing points in the first few days of the term.

Oliver had a lot on his mind.. People, what they meant to him, what he wanted to do moving forward. Life seemed to be moving fast.
Last year he'd been so impatient for it to move on but this term he didn't want it to be gone too fast.
Hmm.. He was mindlessly wandering the school at this point, no clue where he was going at all, just letting his feet (And those rogue stairs) lead him where they may. Which today was the trophy room for whatever reason. Hmmm.
He spotted a familiar face there though. "Hey, Olivia." Hopefully the boy didn't scare her.

Ace's father was a Prefect too? Seriously? Oh hey! There was Ethan Mordaunt and Zander Adair. Merlin's Beeeeeeard. There were a lot of names that she recognized. But soon her attention had been diverted by a familiar voice calling out to her. She turned around to find Oliver there. Oh hey! She hadn't seen him in AGES. "Oliver! Hey!" she smiled. It was good to see her fellow music friend out and about the castle. She wanted to give him a big hug when she asked him the next question but she was unsure how well he'd take that. She knew some people weren't big huggers.. Merlin had she learned that the HARD way.

"How was your summer? How's life?"
"Hey, Name Twin!" Oliver put his arms out for a hug. He liked hugs, had been told more than once that he gave the best ones. Most of his hugs were bear hugs. "It was pretty great, actually.. Went on vacation, worked at Ollivanders" He smiled, thinking about the few months before his return to Hogwarts with fondness. "How about you? Ohh! I saw you signed up for Wandlore too!" Which was SUPER exciting, He'd have someone to talk WANDS with. I mean.. He had Florian, but Florian knew everything already and also wasn't at Hogwarts

She beamed. Oliver was a hugger! Phew. Vi beamed and happily accepted his hug and returned it. A hug was actually exactly what she had needed. Start of sixth year had already been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster and it was all because of these thoughts that just kept plaguing her minds. Perhaps she should add Professional Overcomplicator of Everything to her ever growing list of nicknames?
"No way!" she said in disbelief when he said he worked at Ollivander's over the summer. That was MIND BLOWING. "That's... that's amazing. What was it like!? You have to tell me all about it, okay?" She wanted to hear everything. Spare no details, Oliver. Olivia was paying 150% attention to you. She eagerly awaited his descriptions of the summer. And then he mentioned that he saw that she signed up for Wandlore. He had too!? Awesome. She had been the first one signed up for the class and had wondered if anyone else was going to sign up for it. She wasn't one to complain about having private lessons with Professor Marchand but she was relieved that there would be someone else to talk about wands and wandlore with. "Yay! Wandlore buddies and name twins. This year is going to be epic!" beamed Vi. Then she paused. OH. He had asked her about her summer, hadn't he?
"My summer was good. Not as exciting as yours with working at Olliverander's but I did get to work at a cafe and learn how to be a barista." She could make really good coffee. When she wasn't doing that she volunteered at a museum and saw some mates here and then! A pretty succesful summer, she may add.

"Yeah, i mean.. It's not glamorous. I'm not making wands or doing fittings but i get to sort the ones that haven't found their owners yet and clean up.. But seeing kids get their wands is so cool.. And the Wandmakers there are so welcoming. They make me feel like i belong there." He loved it, it was like the kind of camaraderie that Oliver had felt with very few people and it was almost instant with Fiona and Florian. "I love it though and i want to open my own shop one day so i want to learn everything that i can."
"I was worried i'd be the only one interested!" Which wouldn't have been a huge issue for him.. But still it was nice to have a friend in the class already.
Maybe there would be more people or maybe it would just be them. Who knew?
"I bet you can make a killer coffee though." Oliver loved coffee, so it seemed pretty cool to him. "Did you enjoy it?" Cause that's what really mattered.

Vi nodded, listening to Oliver speak about his experience working with wandmakers. She couldn't help but feel really excited to hear that he had been welcomed so well there that he felt like he belonged. It warmed Vi's heart to no end that a friend of hers could find such a place. It made her hopeful that she would be able to find such a place in the future too. Her eyebrows raised. "A shop one day? That'd be amazing. Would it be like Ollivanders? Or would it function differently?" she asked.
Thank Merlin that they'd have each other in the class. Vi would have to check the sign up sheets after this to see who else signed up. "We'll have to have study sessions together," smiled the Gryffindor who was looking forward to spending more time with a friend and an avid wandlore fan.
"I'll have to make you coffee sometime!" Olivia nodded. She'd have to find out what his go to coffee order was? She had enjoyed working at the cafe. She had learned a lot about people and reading them. All people from different walks of life had been through the cafe and it had given her a glimpse into different personalities. "I did like it. People were usually happier after they got their coffee. They were very happy if you remembered their order." She smiled, remembering the time she had surprised a customer by remembering their pumpkin spice with two shots of espresso. "What's your go to coffee?"

His own shop, the idea never stopped making him happy. "Ideally it would be different. I don't want to compete with Ollivanders. I want to make custom wands for people, So they would come in and take a test and i would make the wand that i think would fit best with them. Instead of them trying a bunch of different ones." He knew some people preferred the way Ollivanders did things and he didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
His wand was from Ollivanders and he loved it. "I don't know if it would work as well for someone's first wand. But i wouldn't turn people away if they wanted to bring eleven year olds." He shrugged. "I already have tons of notes if you need them." He'd been studying wandlore for about two years now on his own time.
"I'm not sure what my coffee is. I've been trying different things and flavors. You should help me find my drink!" Because how could he have a Barista friend and not have her help him explore the coffee world?

Vi nodded, listening to Oliver describe his future wand shop. So he would make a wand suited to their personality? “That’s an intriguing idea. I like the sound of it,” she grinned. “So its based on their personality. Would you ask them a series of questions?” Or perhaps it would be based on impressions.
Yeah, she didn’t know if the concept would work well for a person’s first wand. “Maybe the series of questions could help find them a wand?” she asked with a curious grin. And Olivia wouldn’t turn down extra notes for the subject especially since Oliver seemed really passionate about it. “I’d love that. That would be great!"
“It'd be my pleasure to help you find it! What are you up to now? We could start finding your drink now,” she nodded with a smile. She enjoyed helping people find their coffee. “Now first do you like sweet or bitter?"

"I was thinking of having a questionnaire but maybe some of my ideas will change when i learn a bit more about wandmaking in general." He shrugged, what really did he know now? He had a lot of ideas and plans.. He wanted t grow his own trees and search the world for his own Core materials.. But it would take a long time and a lot of travel.
"That's what the questions would be for, to help me design a wand that would suit this person.. It's difficult though because people change and certain wands and cores are better for certain types of magic." It was a complicated thing really, but that's what Wandlore was.. Oliver seemed to love complicated things. "Plus old wandmakers used to let people bring in cores that meant things to them. Like if you had a pet kneazle that you always loved you could use one of her whiskers for your wand core. The personal connection would make the bond stronger." or at least that was the idea.. Granted a Kneazle whisker was a horribly weak wand core, but it was just an example.
Up to now? This was pretty much it. "Nothing! Help me go on my coffee quest!" He grinned and then shrugged. "Bitter i guess if i had to pick one." He liked things bittersweet. Something to do with loving complicated things, probably.

A questionnaire to help determine what kind of wand the person would need based on their personality? "So perhaps like a Myers-Briggs personality test or something to that nature?" she asked, intrigued by this idea. She nodded. "I think it'd be interesting to test out. Maybe through this extracurricular, we'll be given an opportunity to test the waters." Vi paused and then continued listening to Oliver speak about this questionnaire. She nodded as he pointed out that people could change. "Then perhaps wand should change too? Maybe wands should be changed every once in a while."
A pet kneazle.... Whiskers? Vi paused. Intriguing. Weren't kneazle whiskers fragile perhaps and not be apt for the wand..? Though she did see his thinking on it. She nodded slowly. "Hmm.. Intriguing idea. Perhaps we could test it out?" She would def like to give that a try and see if it worked.
"It'd be my honour to assist you on such an important quest, my friend!" she beamed as she ran through possible coffee ideas she could make for Oliver to try. Bitter can do. "Sure. Bitter... Okay. I have an idea. We'll start with more traditional treats then bridge out from there." That seemed like a safer option. Start with an espresso and go from there.

"Maybe? I think something like that would help but i would also need to know personal details. For instance the length of the wand has to do with the size of ones personality and not their height or the length of their arms." Naturally the measuring tape caused this misconception.
"I don't think the wand would need to change though.. Wands are curious things, they're alive sort of.. They choose us as much as we choose them some wands will never serve another owner, not fully. They can bond very deeply with their first. Others change hands very quickly." He found it ALL fascinating, honestly.
"Maybe, it's just an idea. I won't be able to test the construction of anything for a few years. You can't make wands until after you've studied and worked as an apprentice and i can't start that until after Hogwarts." So working with materials was way off. "But i already have been getting good at woodworking with my dad.. and i have some wand designs made up. Maybe i'll show you." He knew what his first wand was going to look like and who it belonged to.

"Brilliant! I need to find my go to drink!"
Vi nodded. She'd agree with that statement. Wands being alive. She liked thinking of wands like that. "That is intriguing. Some wands would be more up for changing owners. Do you think wands would be passed down in families? And do you think that wands would want to leave their owners? Or owners letting go of their wands? " asked Vi with a curious glance. Perhaps some would. But then again... "Would the owners end up with a bunch of wands?"
She frowned slightly at the idea of not being able to work with materials until after being an apprentice. "Some rules are more like guidelines..." she smirked. Vi really wanted to try crafting wands this year. The more Oliver spoke of it, the more interested she became and the more she wanted to give it a try. "Wand designs made up? I'd love to see them."
"Of course!" It'd be a fun adventure trying to find his go-to coffee drink!

"Yes, certain wand woods are more loyal than others. Cores too. But it depends on a lot of things. There are tons of factors." He shrugged. "Maybe, people can own lots of Wands.. I know that my wand, a yew wand is a more loyal wood type and wizards who are buried with their wands tend to have them grow into trees over their graves to protect their owners in the afterlife."
Hmm.. Well, he'd love to try and make a wand there but he knew that rule was there for a reason. "I don't think they'd let us and if they do that's not very smart.." Because the magic was very complicated.. More so than most people thought and without finishing their studies of magic could they really grasp something so complex? "I hope they don't try because i'd like to lear what i'm doing first." He nodded as she asked about his designs. "Yeah, I have a few sketched out and my first one planned already." He would be happy to show them to her.

Her curiosity was piqued and Vi's mind was actively trying to learn as much as she could from Oliver at the moment. He seemed so knowledgable about wands and wandlore and that was impressive. How did he know so much and could she just have a copy of his mind for class so that she could raise her hand and offer a solution? Merlin. Now that would be nice. But getting back to reality instead of mindless rambling.... "A yew wand?" She repeated. Yes, those were indeed loyal. "What is your wand?" she asked with a curious smile. It was a question she hadn't really asked people before but it was an interesting one to explore. "Mine's applewood."
Party...... Vi frowned slightly. Yes, she get that it'd probably be quite silly of them to go out and try and that there were probably rules associated with it. Rules schmules... Her friend here did have a valid point. "Most likely very helpful," she sighed. A girl could dream though right? But speaking of designs, she raised her eyebrows higher when Oliver said that he had a few sketched out. "That's awesome! I'd love to see them... if that's okay with you, of course!"

Oliver nodded. "Mine is yew with a Unicorn tail hair core." He took the wand from its Holster to show it to her. He was very proud of his wand after learning a bit more about wandlore.. But also he knew there were no good or bad wands, just good or bad wizards. A wand was just a tool. "Apple? Hmm.. Curious. That says a lot of good about you.. Apple wands are rare.. and they tend to suit wizards and witches with high morals."" He loved learning what a wand said about a person.
"Yeah, i wouldn't mind showing you my designs. I don't know how plausible some of them are yet." he laughed a little. "Sometimes i just sketch ones i think would look cool."
