Located along the corridor between the Transfiguration classroom and Professor Stewart's office is a new door. There is a sign hanging on the door that simply states 'Transfiguration Practice Area'.
Should you be curious and enter the room you'll notice that it contains two large picnic like tables one in the center of the room and one located at the back between two large windows. Feel free to sit at one and do some classwork or more likely give those pesky Transfiguration spells a go!
Situated around the room are many different items you can practice on. There's various shelves, cabinets, wardrobes and old chests laying around the area holding Merlin knows what inside just waiting to changed into something else.
Just be warned that sometimes Professor Stewart gets bored of what she sees inside here and will randomly change things up. So don't be alarmed if you come inside and things aren't as they seemed last time you were in here.
If you have any trouble with a Transfiguration spell don't hesitate to find Professor Stewart for assistance. Remember though this room is here for studying and/or practicing only! There is to be NO dueling in this room.
(OOC: Anyone is welcome to use the room both students and staff! Feel free to make up random items the students might find or things out of the ordinary that the professor may have transfigured just for fun. This area could also be used to practice other spells/charms ect not only transfiguration. Some come alone or with friends and play! )
***************
If you were one that frequented this room last term or even earlier on in this term you would now notice a new door at the other side of the room upon entering that hasn't been there before. On this door is a picture that shows what is on the other side of the door.
SPOILER!!: Picture on the door!
I'm working on resizing the photo so...
here's the link to it for now RAIN FOREST!
Has the picture caught your attention yet?!
If you open the door you will be in a room that has been transfigured to appear as if you have just stepped into a RAIN FOREST! From the heat which is rather stifling to the many many trees, hills, rocks, sounds of water and creatures it's all there. Anyone is welcome to go inside and check out the area but make sure to bring your knowledge of transfiguration with you!
You might want to transfigure your clothing into shorts and a simple t-shirt, some boots for your feet would be helpful too. How about something that would take care of those bugs flying about? Are you thirsty? Transfigure yourself a goblet to drink from but be careful of things lurking about in any water you find!
OOC: Soooooo this is a new section to the training area! Camilla has transfigured this room herself and checks on it each day, any creatures inside are all transfigured ones and won't actually harm the students! You may play the creatures come at them or annoying them however. The possibilities inside this room are endless and the students/staff are welcome to add something of their own or change things for the next person!
Every few IC weeks Cami will change the room to something else for the students to experience!
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Apparently she hadn’t focused hard enough because it wasn’t hard to point her wand at the book and she knew she’d said the spell right. So that meant she must not have focused right, and that was annoying. She didn’t want to have to sit out on the lesson activity just because she couldn’t make her book transfigure into a rabbit. And she definitely wouldn’t be able to convince the professor that maybe she could learn more about animagi if she couldn’t manage other transfiguration spells. So she was going to focus.
Well, she’d focus in a second, as she realized Jessa had stopped near her at the obstacle course gate and looked up at her from her seat on the ground. “Sure. ‘Cept I kinda haven’t managed to turn my book into a rabbit yet,” she admitted, showing the Ravenclaw her fuzzy book. Except she was definitely planning on managing to accomplish the spell because she couldn’t very easily snuggle with a book, even if it was fuzzy. If she could keep her rabbit after the lesson which she still didn’t know if she could.
Racing.....wasn't the thing she'd planted in the rabbit's mind...hardly, but the Ravenclaw wouldn't be admitting that any time soon so she simply nodded, watching the way her tortoise fixated on the rabbit while it remained in Stasya's hands. It snapped its mouth violently as if waiting to chomp down on the poor little fluffy thing itself but she pretended not to notice.
Another nod was offered when she said she'd practice on her own after class. The offer would still stand but Jessa wouldn't press the issue. If the Gryffindor didn't want the help and felt she could handle it then there was no real reason to fuss.
Instead, the 15 year old turned her attention to the rabbit that had darted off and the tortoise who sped off after it.
Naturally...quite naturally...she'd never transfigured a slow tortoise. It seemed to move at lightening speed but it wasn't trying to clear obstacles, on the contrary, it was bulldozing everything in its path as it tried to nip at the tail of the rabbit. Occasionally, Jessa vanished an item or two to get it out of the way so he could move faster but she wouldn't interfere too much; he would catch his pray off his own merit.
While this went on, the young girl said nothing, watching with avid curiosity to see whether the rabbit would turn an fight as she'd intended when she transfigured it or if it would simply keep running. At this point...she was inclined to believe it would have better luck if it kept running...just saying.

Though now his imagination was picturing ways in which he COULD make this happen and it was completely distracting his focus.
"Of course!" he chirped, throwing her TWO thumbs up for emphasis. "Let's transfigure our things, yeah?" he grinned, pointing his wand to his teapot and TRYING to focus. Only now his imagination was not the only thing distracting him. UGH. "Testudinidifors!"
Just like in class, his teapot began to expand to the appropriate size for a Giant Galápagos tortoise and then in another flash of brilliant light completed the transfiguration. Sorta. There was MORE of a neck and head this time...although it still had the curvature of a spout and the tortoise kinda had duck lips due to them still taking on the shape of the end of the spout but the head was way more tortoise like overall. There were actually EYES this time! The shell though...er...well...it had retained the floral design of the teapot and had the appearance of porcelain.
"Uuuuum...." he murmured, ruffling his hair while turning to look sheepishly at Natalie as it slowly began making its way over towards the gate as Derf intended the tortoise to. ".....ready?"
As Derf was transforming his teapot into a tortoise, Natalie set down her teacup and waved her wand at it. "Lapifors!" said energetically and, again to her GREAT surprise, a bunny appeared where her teacup was. Still surprised at this sudden streak of luck with spells, Natalie muttered a little "wow" and then stooped down to stop the rabbit from bouncing away.
"Hey, you got closer!" she said to Derf with a grin. Even though it still resembled the teapot still, it was good. "If I were a turtle, I'd like to have a floral shell." Just in case he was wondering.
Yes, alright, time to race! Natalie nodded at Derf and placed her rabbit in front of the gate, next to his tortoise.

Twenty minutes zoomed by quickly. Before the students knew it, Professor Stewart was clapping her hands loudly to get everyone's attention. "Amazing work, everyone! I'm sad to say we are out of time for the days lesson, however. Please return your animals to their original state and collect your things for the classroom." No one had actually completed the course with their animal so there was no winners to announce.
"For tonight's homework I would like you all to work on the spells we used in today's lesson." Nothing major tonight. "I will be having each of you preform both spells in our next lesson so I will know if you practiced." Being as to how most of the students could already do the spells there shouldn't be any trouble.
"Alright everyone, you're free to go! Enjoy the rest of your day!" Camilla smiled warmly waiting for them all to transform their animals back into their original states. "Anyone that would like to use this room for practice or even just for some fun is welcome to do so outside of lesson times."
OOC: That's the end of the lesson! Thank you all so much for coming! I'll leave this thread and the lesson thread open a bit longer for anyone that wants to finish up or have their kiddos leaving/collecting their things from the classroom.
